Traveling to Thailand? Find Chumphon hotels

We stayed at the Nana Beach four years ago and little has changed there or in general at this beach area near Chumphon. A beautiful swimming pool just across the road from the beach is a rare luxury in Thungwahlaen, and it is kept spotless. The gardens are constantly being tended and this gives the hotel a wonderful lush feel to it. we were a little disappointed with the breakfast this time, there's plenty of it but the fruit in particular was mainly unripe, but lots of other choice. The main menu is of good variety and quality and it is no more expensive than most of the little Thai eateries dotted along the beach. Overall we love this part of Thailand and almost certainly will be returning to the Nana Beach next year. Ooh, but watch out for the sandflies!!!

Novotel Chumphon Hotel is almost 12km from Chumphon town.. it is located by the beach.. there are good seafood restaurants along the beach which would get many customers from Chumphon and parts of Thailand for seafood dinner.. very delicious and cheap.. The Novotel Hotel is lovely and beautiful.. it is away from the town so you can really relax at this hotel.. And the staff are very friendly too.. especially Gorgeous Ann..

I drive to Chumphon for a rest. The night market is much worse than Huahin's. We can walk to night market from hotel. The swimming pool is good for kids and the breakfast is well prepared. I don't like Chumphon, but the stay in this hotel make me feel happy and have a good memory.

We were so surprised that our hotel was located across the street from the best beach in Chumphon! The staff was amazing and helped us to our room. We asked to have a taxi waiting for us at 6AM the following morning to the airport, and they got the cost reduced by 100 Baht by pairing us with another couple travelling to the airport (so we paid 250 Baht, or about 8 USD for a 45 minute ride). On a side note, we were scammed by a taxi driver on the way to this hotel and paid 1000 Baht for a 45 minute ride from the ferry terminal to this hotel...so be careful who you trust! Our hotel was awesome! Our room was very clean, spacious and comfortable. It was the best bed and shower we had in all of Thailand. Lots of great food and bars steps away along the beach. We will definitely stay here again!

excellent hotel in chumphon. we were very very satisfied. i recommend this hotel to all passing through chumphon. wat struck me most was that the rooms were cost and clean. really cleanliness was amazing. staff were polite

hotel is on hard tung wua lan, the best beach in chumporn. very popular for thais and often fully booked due to conferences or company outings. organised boat trips for snorkelling and diving to islands nearby. padi scuba diving courses. excellent buffet breakfast with interesting blue/purple drink made from unchan flowers. lemon grass tea drink. eco friendly garden that also produces its own fertiliser and detergents.

Overall, nothing to complain. A very pleasant stay indeed. We were granted early check in without any fees at 8.30am thai time. Mins of walking distance to the centre. No breakfast provided as stated but the coffee and hot chocolate provided (6am-11am) is a kind gesture that the hotel gives. However, the room that we stayed had no mirror. A bit of inconvenience to my wife only. Other than that, everything is good. If chance permits, my stopover in chumphon will be Hop Inn Hotel again 100%

Perfect. The girl who welcomed us was very Nice and helpful. The day we left the mother of the owner (?) gave us Some rambutan and fingerfood for the kids for the boat trip. In my opinion is the location underrated and offers beach and location more possibilities. Unfortunately chumphon is for many travellers a short pass through.

I wish we had a reason to go back to Chumphon just so we could stay here again. From check in to check out it was superb. Loved our room, our view and most of all the lovely couple and their son that run the resort. Breakfast was lovely and fresh but you must have a dinner here - the best, fresh wonderful food. Cannot recommend Magic House Resort enough

We enjoyed this hotel. It is a bit like a B&B in that the family live in house. But they do so charminglyly and unobtrusively. It is simple and laid back - just like the Thungwualaen Beach area. We get the feel this area is a weekend beach retreat for Thai people from around the region. So during the week it is very low key. This makes a pleasant change from so many other touristic areas around Thailand. You will need your own transport. Beach is good - best of course when the tide is in. Hotel staff are very friendly. We had a small room at the back - which was fine - but for more space and better outlook choose the front rooms. Each room had a all-in-one computer and dvd player (in the lobby is a reasonable selection of DVDs). We had to postpone our visitby one day and even though we were unable to stay the length of our orginal booking ( as the rooms were booked on what would have been our last night) the owner refunded one night - which technically she didnot have to do as we had postponed late in the piece. The place was clean and well maintained. For the price we think it is very good value.

After a busy training in Bangkok and a relaxing week in Koh Tao, me and wifey stayed at this resort for a stopover. The resort is relaxed...not luxury....but is very comfortable and cozy...we had the deluxe villa ...after experiencing Bangkok and Koh Tao...this seemed like a bargain...this is obviously because Chumphon is not a hub for tourists...the town does not even have a cinema...but..as the friendly staff at this resort gave us complimentary bicycles to explore town..i discovered that this was the most "Thai" experienced i had ever had...Bangkok is crazy...and while Koh Tao is beautiful and relaxed...many businesses there are run by foreigners catering to foreigners...that is all cool...but gets a little boring....Chumphon was real Thailand and i liked it...Papa Seafood by the train station is great along with the cheesy local middle aged musicians playing Thai pop songs of old..anyhow back to the Chalicha resort...i like it and next time would love to spend more time here...

A classic style Thai hotel in Chumphon. Basic, but very clean & with nice staff. Very close to the train station and night market. For the price, it's perfect. A/C and fan were good. Bathrooms were newly renovated. Filtered water machines are in the hallways. Instant coffee and cookies were provided in the morning, but there are also many restaurants and cafes within a couple of blocks.

We spent one night at Saphli Villa Beach Resort. We were self driving our way down from Hua Hin to Krabi. It was a little difficult to find and 1 expect getting to this place is best from Chumphon. It is located right on the beach. We were the only guests as it was midweek, and the fantastic beach was deserted. The bungalow was large, clean and modern. The views of the lovely garden and beach were great. The owners were very helpful. We didn't try the restaurant as we stayed only one night(and opted to eat in the town nearby) but both Thai and western food is available. We would recommend this hotel very highly for a quiet, relaxing few days. We spent 2 weeks in Thailand and this was the best accommodation and beach. We regretted spending only one night and would have happily spent 3 nights here and reduced our time in Krabi!

Chumphon is very much a 'pass through' town for tourists who are passing through for the ferry port to and from the three islands of Koh Toa, Koh Phangyan and Koh Samui. For this reason, there isn't much in the way of attractions for visitors of very interesting or luxurious places to stay. We were looking for the same as most people passing through Chumpon...a cheap and clean place to stay that was close to the train station for a one night stay before heading onto the ferry port the next day. For this, the Nana Buri ticked nearly all the boxes. Super cheap, very clean (albeit old and soulless) hotel was just fine for our needs. Only minor issue was the location. Only a 7min tuk tuk journey or 15 min walk from the train station, however, it is in a dead end road which is very deserted after around 7pm. I generally feel safe in Thailand and was with my husband on this trip but would not recommend this particular location if you are a solo traveller or wish to have a hotel that is footsteps away from late opening bars or restaurants. Free wifi was good enough to top up on netflix downloads overnight before trip the next day. Staff English level was pretty poor but they tried really hard and were smiley and friendly. Read other reviews about the beds which I agree with to some extent, Have never seen hard mattresses like these - actually like gym class crash mats which were leather and so hard but I had an awesome nights sleep so cant complain! Overall extremely cheap and convenient!

Booked for 3, stayed for 3 more. Absolutely perfect location n the beach, centrally in the village. Bungalows are renovated, so they are good as new. And the little details the staff add on, flowers etc.. Will recommend and will stay again when in Chumphon.

What a surprise treat this place was. Way better than expected. It’s a little way out of Chumphon town in the jungle with a river running passed the rear of the bungalows. Very private, all scrupulously clean and well maintained. The hosts were soo friendly and sorted out ferry tickets for us plus provide pushbikes as well as motorbikes for hire. The breakfast was the real treat as Kolm grows, roasts his own coffee beans then meticulously prepares coffee in various methods - it’s clearly a real passion of his and wonderful for coffee lovers. Try the Farmers Restaurant a few mins of motorbike or ten mins on pushbike for good burgers or the Thai restaurant further up the road for some proper local food with no farang.

A little far from Chumphon town - not walking distance. Couldn't get a ride to town so decided to walk. Told it was 3 kms but at least that to the first major road. Luckily enough a lovely lady stopped and offered us a ride. Love the great hospitality. Took us right into Chumphon town. Transfer to Chumphon ferry to catch the boat to Koh Tao by a lovely gentleman who showed us around, including his home and his 2 other businesses....good fun. Food at restaurant dull and repetitive, but great staff.

We stayed at Buadara resort as a stopover between Koh Tao and Bangkok as our flight from Chumphon to BKK was very early in the morning and the ferry would have arrived too late to make the trip in the same day. The resort is somewhat dated but it has everything you need for a short stay.

The owner provided me blanket.pillow and a soft mattress while waiting to be checked in. The room are clean and it works. Staff are helpful . The hotel is centrally located near the local market and its 500 meters from the Bus station and 900 meters from the train station. Will definitely recommend any travellers to this hotel.

Room is clean with airco, bed is hard. Shower has no ventilation and hot. Room is ok but not the level for 50 euro. Construction going on, so garden is not really useful. Location is near to the airport. But there is no beach and access to the sea is almost impossible. Staff are very friendly and helping. But owner is very greedy! She charged us 300 bath to drive us to the airport ( less than 10mins driving). We have rented motor for 4 hours, she charged 150 bath (full day was 250 bath) and didn't give us money back, and charged us for two very small bottle of water which we got them from the staff ( we didn't ask for that).

Very nice bungalow in a lovely garden around the pool, furnished with care and beautifully decorated and very comfortable bedding clean (rare in thailand .....). Very friendly and courteous welcome from the manager, welcome drink around the pool .... Resort held with care and concern for the quality and well being of guests. Good quality Italian restaurant, lots of choice and good quality. We had the opportunity to spend the eve of December 31, buffet organized easily with good products very well prepared for a ridiculous price, very nice stop to enjoy the beautiful weather, Chumphon is still fast enough and visited some interesting .... as a city.

Lovely owners, gave us a lift into town and refused to take any money from us! Recommend to anyone who is looking to get about via moped and see chumphon!

i really enjoyed my stay in tanisa resort. the room was spacious and the toilet huge, with a bathtub and a standing shower area. buffet breakfast is provided every morning. my room came with a small verandah. the room comes with a small writing area, a 32" lcd tv, a small wardrobe and a mini bar refrigerator. i was really impressed with the bathroom because it's really huge. free wi-fi is provided and the great thing is that you don't need a login id or password at all. the signal was strong too. the bed was comfortable enough to provide with me a good night's sleep. drinking water is replenished daily. what i really liked about tanisa was the room service. the food was great and cheap too. chumphon is a nice, laid-back coastal town in the south of thailand. it's about 2 hours away from ko samui. i came here because this is my thai gf's hometown. i really love this town! it has some really nice beaches too. overall, i was satisfied with the room. it was comfortable and cosy enough for me. the staff is friendly and accommodating. i will definitely return to tanisa when i return to chumphon. nothing much in the vicinity of this hotel. to get anywhere you either need a car or a scooter. no taxis or tuk-tuks here too.

wir hatten ursprünglich für 4 nächte gebucht, sind jedoch nach 2 nächten wieder abgereist. das zimmer war unteres level, hellhörig, laute klimaanlage, sehr hartes bett- scheinbar nur ein brett mit dünnenm überzug. wir waren in dem ort offensichtlich die einzigen nichtthailänder, was nicht unangenehm war, und haben das songkran-fest in seiner ursprünglicheren form erlebt. der strand war endlos - gut 14km lang und ausserhalb des ortes so gut wie menschenleer. wie überall am golf von thailand ein sehr flacher strand, vor allem bei ebbe muss man weit ins wasser gehen, bevor man richtig schwimmen kann. das wasser war klar, so dass wir nach einem kurzen fußmarsch um den nahen felsen einen platz zum schnorchel gefunden hatten. wenn die nächte nicht so ungemütlich gewesen wären, hätten wir es dort auch noch länger ausgehalten.

Very nice and quiet place. The owner and his family did everything to make the guest happy. They sorted out my troubles with a boat ticket. It is a little bit away from restaurant, but own offers to drive me. I was tired, so they went to a restaurant and bought me dinner to serve in my room. Next day he drives me to the train station. everything for free, it was a part of the service. I been traveling in Thailand for 5 years. This was the most welcoming and best service ever. I will come back. The room was very good, everything new, nice and clean.

arrived here midnight after a 8 hour train journey and what a nice suprise, really nice rooms,with everything in it you want and it all works perfect, we were offered breakfast at baht per person and it was the best 3o baht ive ever spent in thailand, nice buffet breakfast in a nice dining room all the windows were open so we had a cool breeze coming through, the first hotel ive stayed in that was absolutly quiet!no scooters trains planes building work dogs barking drunk people arguing, so i had a really good sleep, would definatly stay here again and would reccomend it to anyone needing a stop over bfore the boat to ko tao etc

So glad I chose to stay here. I wanted a place close to the train station and this was in walking distance, although I took a scooter taxi, 100bht. Lots of street food vendors close by. Rented a scooter (low on gas, yikes) and easy to get to Thung Wua Laen Beach (hotel provides nice area map), great lady does massages (1st star on the map, across the street). I like Chumphon!

We are from Hong Kong and happy to visit Thailand cause they are friendly. We had a good fishing experience got a lot of fish. The owner is very friendly, they allowed us to cook our own Chinese cuisine . The manager is very helpful n English speaking, other staff are very friendly too, but can’t speak too much English. The whole apartment is very new only established eight months . It will be fine if your last day of the trip is by plane Since they are Quite remote but close to the airport. They can arrange pick up from the airport to the hotel .

Very old but clean place in very convenient location, plenty of parking. Hard but creaking old bed. Ok for 1-2 nights stay. There are plenty of a but more expensive hotel around the around. Good and cheap restaurants everywhere.

I loved my stay here. The owner dis everything to make our stay here the best. We stayed only one night before heading of to the islands. And the owner took care of the ticket and pick up. And he even lent us an scooter for free to get to the atm. And breakfast was included. Would stay here again
