The resort is big with indoor heated pool and outdoor pool. Suitable for family relaxing trip. The location is 10m drive from Sunworld Halong Park. Quiet and peaceful neighborhood. And there will be a beach open in front of the hotel in a few months. Some of the equipments in the fitness center is broken. However, the hotel staff needs a lot more training. When I came near the reception desk nobody even greeted us. All 3 receptionist at the front desk seems like they just started working here not long ago. The whole check in process was awkward and and no conversation was made. After check in, I have to ask for them to show me to my room. When I made the booking I clearly stated that it was my birthday and I want to arrange something special for this weekend trip. When I come to the hotel nobody even said happy birthday. And when I came to the pastry corner to buy some cake, I wanted some candles for the celebration. I heard the staff talked to each other that somebody has candles but they turn to me and said we dont have candle today sorry. I love the landscape and the facility in the hotel but I expect a lot more from the staff of a 5 star hotel. They are helpful but not friendly and they dont even smile back when I smile as them. This would have been a great resort if not for the staff.

I've stayed at other Novotel hotels in Vietnam and this one is as good as the rest. Upon arrival, the staff at the front desk was very friendly and helpful, the bell boy took out luggage to our room. First impression was everything at this hotel has the 4.5-5 stars feel to it. This place is definitely on par with western standards of a high end 5 star hotel. Since it was off season, we got a free upgrade to a room on a higher floor with the ocean view. Let me tell you, this room was phenomenon! The bathroom itself was probably as large as a room at a 3 star hotel. As for the rest of the room, the king bed was very comfortable, there's a balcony where you can just sit , relax, and gaze out at the ha long bay water. There's even a small lounging area with a mini couch and coffee table. Just below, you can see the swimming pool. We even had wifi internet issues, so they brought up a dedicated wifi router just for us to use! Very nice! Overall, this is probably one of the best hotels in ha long bay and I highly recommend it.

if you are going to ha long bay and want to really enjoy the experience this cruise is for you. from time we boarded the boat to the time we returned we were all treated like very special guests the food and accommodation was fantastic and all set within such a beautiful backdrop, you could not ask for anything more. all activities such as the kayaking and mystery cave tour were great. my wife felt she could not try the kayaking but when she did she was so excited that she do it in such a beautiful area, but if you can't they will take you around floating villages in other boats, so no one misses out. i cannot recommend this cruise highly enough.

We booked several rooms and travelled in a large group with children. Hotel is located on the quiet end of Ha Long Road, a couple kilometres to night market & "main street" (way overpriced and overrated), around 20 minutes walk or just catch a taxi for less than AUD$2. Hotel lobby is wonderfully massive with a welcoming fruit drink when you arrive at reception. A fruit basket, coffee/tea/chocolate and bottled water is complimentary in your room. Features: electronic key entry, remote control lighting/in-room radio & alarm clock, slippers, bathrobes, iron, hair dryer, huge comfortable bed with white linen and very clean bathroom with separate tub & shower... Superior King room is very spacious, plenty of room for our baby to share the bed and crawl around. There's a gym and sauna, outdoor pool and two restaurants on separate floors. We had buffet dinner at the hotel's Four Seasons Restaurant on ground floor - very decent selection of food & drinks, & buffet breakfast next day (included in booking fee) again good variety and restaurant staff were great. We spoke Vietnamese to staff so they were always helpful with our enquiries, unsure about their english so cannot comment. We suggest researching before booking tours via hotel (we were short on time so paid AUD$200 for a 4-hour private boat Ha Long Bay tour for our group, but the shifty crew ended up sneaking extra people on the upper deck). Hotel was happy to hold our luggage after check-out while we went on tour. Overall good service, clean & spacious rooms, good food, great value, relaxing atmosphere... would stay there again.

We stayed at this hotel when our cruise on Ha Long Bay was cancelled due to a nearby typhoon and would recommend it only for that purpose. The hotel does not live up to its 4 star status: stains on the carpet, noisy corridors, no wifi in the room, pool and gym of poor standards. Breakfast does not offer much for Western travellers. We would recommend this hotel in an emergency.

This a rather new four star cruise. It's is much bigger than most of the cruises at ha long bay. I would highly recommend this cruise as the facilities are rather new and in good condition. The tour- Vietnam open tour has extremely caring tour guide name Mr lucky. He really is a very responsible tour guide whom took good care of us, ensuring our stay was enjoyable. He was explained many things on our way there. He basically was a super guide.

After three nights in Royal Lotus Hotel Ha Long, I have to admit that it is the best hotel which I have booked via Agoda. Royal Lotus Hotel Ha Long is a brand new hotel. Consequently, the facilities are very modern and good as a four star hotel. I also was impressed by the room design, cleanliness and pleasant helpful staffs as well. Without a doubt, if I come back to Ha Long, I will choose Royal Lotus Hotel Ha Long again.

This hotel was a little away from the man attractions in Ha Long but its worth being away from that a little. The staff was fantastic, the room was very nice and the dining was fantastic.

This tour was great, the scenery is amazing and the tour allowed me to do all the things I wanted in Ha Long Bay. Tour guide Le and his team worked extra hard to make sure everything was perfect - the food especially is a highlight - wait until you see the sculptures they make - just incredible! The only thing I would have done differently is take a private transfer from Hanoi on the new road, I think it’s considerably shorter than the shuttle bus (although that is significantly cheaper). So perhaps weigh up what’s important to you there... I would definitely recommend Garden Bay tours (I was on garden Bay 2)

Impress by the hotel location althought is quite a steep driveway to the lobby. The service staff is well train but english is still not well verse and sometime some questions that we ask didn't come with a answer. The room is big and clean, bathroom up to standard. You can even see the sea view in the room although it come with a balcony, should be the best seaview in Ha Long Bay. The only weak point is the swimming Pool, too far away for the hotel, you need to walk pass the hotel lobby and down the slope stairs. It could be ideal if is within the hotel itself. Anyway no complain, will come back again with family.

My boyfriend and I are backpacking Southeast Asia ( Cambodia, Laos , Vietnam and Thailand). This cruise was the “splurge” of our trip but I would not have done ha long bay any other way! No matter what sort of adventure or leisure vacation you want - bhaya cruise is the way to go. Amazing location , food and staff . Perfect 3 day and two nights in paradise

We booked the Queen Suite for a 3 day/ 2 night cruise in early April 2017. The bed was comfortable and we liked the way it was positioned to look out at the view through the large picture window. The additional (semi)private deck area was also nice. The photo showed a shade umbrella on the cabin deck which wasn't provided because it would blow over during cruising. The weather was so cloudy during our cruise that the lack of umbrella wasn't an issue. There was plenty of food during meals. The pumpkin soup was very good. All drinks at lunch and dinner are an additional charge - including water. I believe you will find this is the practice on most of the Ha Long Bay cruises. The staff was attentive & spoke English well. There was also a French speaking guide. We were looking forward to seeing the fishing village (which no longer exist because the bay is too polluted and over fished to make fishing viable), kayaking (which the government put a stop to as of April 1, 2017 - we did not see a single kayak on the entire bay), exploring Cat Ba island and Bat cave, Dark and light cave, and amazing cave (none of which were provided. We were told the government also made changes to access to Cat Ba island, etc). We did go to a pearl farm where we were given an informative and amusing tour by a local guide, were taken on a small "fishing" boat and shown how locals would drop gill nets & encourage the fish toward the nets, a trip to Ti Top island to swim or climb to the peak of the island, a boat ride inside Hang Luon to see the monkeys, and a stop at Me Cung to see the cave and hike up to see a small fresh water lake, which was interesting. Ha Long bay offers amazing natural formations and beauty and I'm sure it was really something 5 or 10 years ago, but now the water is littered with trash and swimming is quite uninviting. I'm glad we made a side trip to see Ha Long bay while we were in Vietnam, and Grey Line cruise was a good cruise line, however, the activities offered

Everything was fantastic! The cruise itself was great, we enjoyed the food on the cruise alot and the view was breathtaking (I highly suggest choosing the quieter and cleaner route of Bai Tu Long Bay route instead of the more popular route on Ha Long Bay route) finally, the selling point for me was that the staff on the cruise were all so helpful and humble (our favorite was Viet, hopefully you all have a pleasure to meet him) We felt extremely well taken care of the entire time. This was the best choice for our Hanoi trip, I highly recommend this!

My family and I (five people) just completed a two night/three day trip on Viola Cruises in Bai Tu Long Bay for Christmas. The crew, the place and the experience were unforgettable. However, I was disappointed because Agoda advertised a queen size bed and it was not. Agoda has some ways to go with advertising professionally. When I followed up with Viola Cruises, they also confirmed that my queen size bed was 180 cm. In America, a queen size is about 193cm. If you book this, book with a different travel website so you are not disappointed with the bed width. My husband, 5-yo daughter and I ended up squeezing in a double (at best) and I did not rest well. I payed $100 more for this pleasure. Other than the truth in advertising, the overall experience was unforgettable. We had Lucky for Christmas and he was awesome. He is as good as they say. Also, Tuan was wonderful. He went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable and even dropped us off at the Ha Long Bay bus station so we could get to Haiphong and on to Cat Bi airport. The rest of the crew was just as amazing. I would highly recommend a second night stay if you can. It is well worth it. Viola Cruises is thorough and professional. The cook and the staff prepared many delicious meals. Joseph on the Lemon Cruise was a fabulous host as well. The ship is beautiful and it has the historic Indochina junk nostalgia.

We are surprise the hotel are so beautiful when we arrived in the evening after the long and tired Halong bay cruise tour. The room are big and clean. Value for money.

I am not happy at all to stay at Asean Ha Long hotel. I will never come back and of course I would not recommend to any of my friends!!

the hotel was walking distance from the boats and the town as well as the beach and the night market. enjoyed our few nights there except the first morning was incredibly noisy with a bus load of guests leaving early but the next morning was ok and the pool is lovely but you have to walk out the front of the hotel and go around as there is no exit at the back. the rooms were a good size and the view is beautiful.

Asesome Cruise. 3D2N highly recommended. They take you to remote parts of Bai Tu Long Bay which is just north of Ha Long Bay. Amazing location: calmness and serenity.

The managers helped us to translate and came to the police station with us to make a report on our stolen belongings. That was nice. the travel agent was super nice and he took us to dinner at a local restaurant and the food was amazing. He also booked us was great. However the walls in our room were moldy and there is no wall decoration whatsoever. It's a 4-star hotel but don't consider it as a 4-star hotel in the US or any other developed countries.

Not too close to harbor to hear boats, not too far to walk. Was nicely designed and pool os best part of hotel. Rooms are dated with little signs of maintenamce. Wss a 4 star. Rapidly approaching a 3. It is no wonder why so many visitors to Halong Bay choose to stay in Hanoi and make the 12 hour round trip/cruise. Not many good choices in Halong and 3 x the price!

Quite ok, we were really satisfied with the rooms and bathroom, breakfast suited our taste, location not on the main road but still quite ok, there's a wet market across the hotel, it's bustling with locals in the morning

Basic hotel good for 1 night stay if your flight arrives late at night or leaves early morning.

We really enjoyed our stay on the cruise. Spent the NY eve on the cruise and it was great. The staff organised a specially party and some extra meals & drinks for all. Loved the service and would pick them whenever I travel to Ha Long again. Food is great, well organised. Staying a 2nd nite is highly recommended.

Amazing 1 night/2 day cruise in Halong Bay. My cabin was much larger than I had anticipated. The food was very good. the staff was very warm and attentive. Lots of activities planned for everyone on the ship. An amazing evening in Ha Long Bay - worth taking a luxury boat when going to Halong Bay, and you can't get much nicer than the Emeraude.

As we got upgraded to their Stellar boat I can't comment on the Legend however as a company Aclass staff are excellent, friendly and will try their best to make sure you have an enjoyable time. The food was good and plentiful and as my daughter and her friend were vegan they provided an excellent alternative. My biggest tip is don't go for 1 night go for 2, we did and it was the best decision you get much more from this amazing place.

Good: Great location that locates in center of Bai Chay and with great view to Park and Ha long Bay. Not good: Very unfriendly for most of staffs (about 3 out 4 people I met and asked for help and information ) Old facilities with mostly tear and wear ; restroom is not clean and has small standing shower space; water spreads everywhere when taking shower.

Its a good hotel with a good position and have many restaurants near the hotel. Also, you can see the beach from it windows, I have a good vacation in this hotel

My stay was good until their wireless internet access was lost for unknown reasons no one seems to know what was the problem I actually had to go to the lobby to be able to log on to the internet. Other than that the hotel offers a good value for your money the staff is friendly and the hotel is very clean

We decided to treat ourselves to this cruise over Christmas -- the 2 day, 1 night option. It was more money than other cruise providers, but the description and reviews looked positive, so we booked. We were not disappointed. Hotel pickup in Hanoi was fairly prompt and efficient. One thing we liked is that the transport van went directly from Hanoi to the boat, with no "shopping trip stops" along the way, which is apparently a thing. The downside to the ground transportation is that it is quite long when you factor in the drive to the coast, a ferry ride to Cat Ba Island, and then another drive to the pier. Speaking of Cat Bat Island, this was interesting because the boat left from this island rather than the usual Ha Long departure point. So it was a lot less busy! Food on the boat was really good and tasty. Bed was comfortable. The "excursions" (snorkeling and bike trips) were great and free. Staff were friendly and helpful. Overall a great value. Recommended!
