Traveling to Taiwan? Find Hualien hotels

We had a nice overnight stay here. We were the only western tourists at that time, which was very relaxing. You get a voucher for a short boat trip through the resort. That was quite nice. The resort is quite remote, so you can't walk to other restaurants/towns, but you don't strictly need to. Food was great here. There is also entertainment on the evening. Hotel offers free shuttle bus to Hualien train station.

A very affordable option for those visiting Taroko Gorge...this is in Hualien, about 25 minutes south of the gorge (very handy if you have your own transport, or hiring a taxi in Hualien will make to easy for them to drop you off here after a day touring the magnificent Gorge). Huge hotel, amazing swimming pools (indoor and outdoor) with an amazing multi-person jet/aqua massage pool. Meals are buffet-style on the main floor, with plenty of vegetarian options and a mixture of traditional Taiwanese and western flavours. Breakfast (included) is a great deal, and will fill you up for the day. Staff spoke good English. Huge room, though the a/c smelled a bit fusty/damp, but after 5 mins you get used to it. Beautiful views of the park, pools and mountains.

It was really a pleasant stay. I would totally recommend friends to stay here if they are looking for a hotel in Hualien. Room was spacious, everything was clean and it was really a pleasant stay. Location of hotel is at the heart of everything. Hotel breakfast can be improve though. Other than that Park City Hotel - Hualien Vacation is almost perfect!

The hotel is in a great place, you can go anywhere from there, near the station (3 minutes walk) and the car hiring company (1 minutes walk). The staff there is so so nice that I find no words to speak ill of them. Even though 1 of the receptionist's english was not good, she tried to explain and answer me all of what I am curious. There was one staff in the afternoon, when being asked about the transportation to some tourist spots, she helped find the best route for me, gave me the best advice how to go there in the most careful way. The food in the hotel is so delicious and not similar to all other places I have ever stayed in Taiwan. The facilities were in great facilities that I want to stay there longer and made Hualien the most most wonderful places in Taiwan for my trip.

It was awesome staying at Lakeshore. I didn't regret booking this hotel as through my search for hotel in Hualien, I would confidently say Lakeshore is the best so far. Rooms are big and spacious, clean, bed is comfy. Hotel staffs serve you like you're in a 5 star hotel.

i chose the pacific ocean view room. it's very spacious! the hotel is located near the top of the mountain range (that runs across taiwan) and it's so huge that it can be seen from hualien airport. accessibility is alright in the daytime because there's a shuttle bus that goes to specific parts of hualien. but the last bus leaves hualien train station at 7pm, so it's troublesome when i wanted to go to the night market. the hotel offers shuttle bus pick up from hualien train station. give the hotel a call a few days before your departure to leave your particulars and check the price - it may or may not be free. the hotel's breakfast buffet is delicious! there's a wide array of food and you can enjoy a brilliant view of the ocean and mountains as you eat :)

Being a resort hotel, it has many activities in addition to a great rooftop pool, hot tubs and a tennis court. I saw there were activities for kids and a spa for the adults. In the evening there was an aboriginal performance and a movie. My room was a good size with a nice view of the river. Like most Taiwan hotels there are different room sizes. When you book just specify what you want. The mini-fridge had a couple of free items in it including a facial mask and there were some snacks. Nice little details. The room is somewhat dated, but still shows nice. I had wished the bathroom would have contained some marble from the area, but instead had a pinkish color tile. I arrived early and my room was not ready so they took my bag. It would have been nice to wait in a lounge and have a drink, but I did not find one. So I got my Taiwan beer at the stall across the parking lot then climbed to the Tianfeng pagoda and found some other trails (uphill). I left reception my email and they emailed me when my room was ready. I purchased the “Western” dinner package which was a very abundant buffet consisting of many stations which I thought was reasonable for NT$880 including service fee. There is a Chinese dinner available which looks to be off a menu. Breakfast was also a buffet with many stations. How to get there? If you don’t have a car, there are many other ways to get there. The Hotel has a shuttle (fee) from Hualien. Call first to make reservations. I took a train down from Yilan to the Xincheng station and then a local bus to Tianxiang. The Taiwan Tourist shuttle bus also goes to Tianxiang from the Xincheng station.

New and appealing hotel in Hualien. It offers a good confort (even if bathrooms are not at the same level as the rest of the hotel). Breakfeast is good and offers a wide choice. Outside pool is also a plus. Main negative points of the hotel is the location. Too far to go by walk to downtown Hualien. You need to take a cab. There is also not a lot of restaurants or shooping possibilities around the hotel. Would probably fit better business trip or group tours, than couple or single travellers.

We stayed in one of the family rooms and we definitely enjoyed our 3D 2N stay. The breakfast choices were limited but being a relatively new hotel, the staff was eager to serve and friendly. It is near one of the beaches so you could enjoy a stroll near the sea (within walkable distance). The place is near the biggest night market in Hualien so 5 stars for the location too.

Checked-in at 7pm into the top floor room. When we returned from dinner close to 10pm Hualien was hit with a heavy downpour causing the roof top water to leak at the lift landing area. Told to change to the 9th floor for all rooms guests on the 10th at 11pm. Was quite a hazzle as the lobby staff was left with 2 guys and we have to move ecerything ourself including pillows, slipper and bottled water as there are 4 of us and the room on the 9th seemed to be for 2. As hotel has no self service washing machine we were doing our laundry at a nearby 24hr washing shop. Was an eventful night. Overall still acceptable. The check-out staff apologised and given us some gift and hotel discount voucher. Basement carpark not for big car. Self-washing machine available in hotel will be ideal. Will still come back for the cleaniness and comfortable beds.

Walking distance to and from Hualien Station. Just look out for a bright yellow building which is very visible from the station. Staff service is impeccable and exemplary. They would drop whatever they are going just to greet you aloud, like Japanese style. Close to dining options too though bit far to night market. But no fault of theirs. 1st hotel we come across that serves supper and its so sumptious with noodles, porridge etc which can be considered as late dinner. Lots of variety for buffet breakfast too. You will be spoilt for choice. They tried to arrange a Taroka Gorge day trip for us. But travel agency advised not to go there as they are falling rocks and stones. Instead we spend time in Hualien city instead. We book a business double but they upgraded us free to a quad room with 2 queen beds equipped with a bath tub. 2 thumbs up to them. Only issue is sound proofing can be better. You can literally hear conversations when people talk and pass by the corridor outside.

Clean hotel and located near to 7E and just 5-8 minutes walk to Hualien Train Station. Can put your bag temporary before check in. When we went to Hualien, it was wet season and we don't have umbrella with us. They let us borrow the hotel umbrella (for the whole day) which I think not many hotel do so, i consider this is something that need to be mention as extra point. Good service by the hotel staff and some of them can speak English. The best thing about the hotel, they do provide free laundry service which they will show where the washing machine/ dryer location are. Overall, I really enjoy my stay here.

Stayed here for 2 nights, hotel was not the easiest to find as we had to take a local bus to get there. But location is central to the night market (about 10-15 mins leisurely walk) and located in a quiet area of Hualien, which I appreciated. Additional upside to location is that all the group tours we booked included F Hotel Zhongxiao as a possible pick up/drop off location, which was convenient. Hotel staff were friendly and polite, and always were ready to assist with our queries. The rooms themselves were spacious and clean, with all basic amenities (complimentary water and mini fridge included). Great soundproofing, no noise disturbance from other occupants throughout my stay. It was a great stay with no complaints, would definitely stay here again if I were in Hualien.

I live in Taiwan, a friend and I just wanted to get away for a weekend. I'm so glad we chose this B&B. What a retreat. It was very modern, big rooms, halls and bathrooms, and definitely the cleanest place I've ever stayed in Taiwan. There's a lovely deck on the roof with an unobstructed view of the ocean, plus lawn chairs, umbrellas and tables. My Chinese is very poor, but the lady running the B&B was cheerful and didn't mind repeating things for me so I could understand. The rooms are a little expensive, but I got my money's worth in ambiance and service. I've been to Hualien several times, already roamed the night markets, seen Taroko. I wanted a hotel nice enough that I could just put my feet up and stay. That's exactly what this is. I will absolutely be back.

Our stay at Fullon Hotel Hualien was during the time the 6.4-scale earth quake landed in Hualien City. If we had the foresight, we probably wouldn't be in Hualien at that time, but we were there, and were so glad that we stayed at Fullon Hotel! During our last night of planned stay there, we were jolted awake by the quake around midnight in our 10th floor room. The first strong quake was followed by significant after shocks. The hotel staff soon started knocking on the door to help us evacuate to the 1st floor lobby. There, we found bundles of towels/blankets and cases of bottled water to help settling the guests. The staff even prepared a van to drive guests who felt the need to be on an open space to the adjacent open lot. At 6:30 am, the buffet breakfast was ready, and was as sumptuous as the day before, prepared by workers who came to work on time regardless their own need at home! Such a well-built hotel, with dedicated and attentive staff! Where else would we have rather be!!

This is the second time I've stayed at the Just Sleep Hotel in Hualien. What I like most about this hotel is the fact that it's relatively new, & clean with a large spacious room and comfortable bed. It's also fairly close to the night market and shopping. A nice bathroom is also important to me and this one qualifies as it contains the features I like. I also like the fact that the room I stayed in has a small balcony. Both times that I've stayed at this hotel I've taken advantage of their free laundry facility for guests, though I find the dryer leaves much to be desired as it takes a long time for clothes to dry. However, that's a minor inconvenience and overall I would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a bit of class while staying in Hualien.

The Japanese room stated its for 5 adults but we booked it for 6 person and thought it would have an extra bed but no, there were 3 double beds in the room which is very good. Also, the room has 2 toilets, one with bath room and one without bath room. Water pressure of the showers is good. The breakfast was good, with a lot of varieties and also many varieties for vegetarian which is also a plus point for vegetarian travelers. The only point we were not quite satisfied was the tables for breakfast were not enough, the staff asked us to wait for a bit, caused us rushing for the tour we had booked on the day. Location was very good as it is only opposite of the night market. Staff was attentive and friendly. Will come back again if we ever go to Hualien again.

1) Very cheap 2) Walking distance to the inter-state train / bus station which is essential if you'd like to spend most of your time doing outdoor activities. Hualien's attractions are sporadic - so it is a lot more efficient to stay nearby the inter-state station than trying to find a place nearby some of the attractions. Plus, most of the main attractions are outside Hualien and you will need to take the bus to get around. 3) Very clean 4) The staffs were very hospitable, excited and cheerful. I was very impressed with their customer service. I left a metal ear pick in my hotel room after I left which I could not care less, and the staffs called and even sent me an e-mail stating that they were more than happy to post it! A bit extra but hey, for a small hotel in a small town, this hotel has better customer service than some of the 4-5 star hotel I had been to. 5) You can hire bicycles for free! As mentioned earlier, Hualien 's attractions are sporadic - riding a bicycles would make your trip a lot more fun! I personally feel like a stay in Hualien is incomplete without riding a bicycle around the town - plus it is free!

My initial plan was to stay in Hualien for four nights before travelling to other part of Taiwan but due to all the nice scenery and attractions in Hualien. and also the good breakfast and cleanliness of this hotel, I decided to changed my itinerary and spent the remaining of my vacation here. With this opportunity I want to thank all of you in Liga especially a kitchen staff by the name of Zhang Shu Zheng for her warm hospitality and kindness. Keep up with all the good work. Liga will definitely be my choice if I visit Hualien again. Thank you!

I loved my stay at the Quality Inn in Hualien. The staff were fantastic. There was always someone avilable who spoke very good English and they were always helpful. The Inn is close to a varied shopping area, with a lovely little market closeby as well.

Hotel is located in good location. About 100m away from Hualien Railway Station, bus terminal and Tourist Information Centre. Nearby are eateries, shops, convenient stores, restaurants... etc. Friendly and helpful staff with good knowledge of tourist spots and advices on public transportation. Clean spacious room with snow white towels and good quality toiletries. This is not the first time I stayed with this hotel, and it won't be the last time. I enjoyed my stay and very please with the staff performance. Until now, I have never thought of staying in any other hotel in Hualien City. Will be back to stay with Charming City Hotel, a hotel that I feel so much at home.

Leaf inn is a beautifully refurbished building with aesthetically pleasing decor. Each room is uniquely designed. The room that I was in had tiny figurines and thought provoking phrases (in Chinese, so it was mostly lost on me). Breakfast is served at the cafe and it was lovely. There was a nice designer market the weekend I was there with some live singing. It's not in Hualien town centre, but it's a simple taxi ride away. The staff will help you call a taxi to anywhere you want to go.

i was apprehensive when i arrived in hualien, wondering what the hotel and place will be like. when i went to the tourist information centre, a guy pointed out the location of classic city resort to me. the hotel side view with the chinese word "jing dian" looks kinda typical of all taiwan hotels. upon arrival at the hotel, i noticed many umbrellas (about 12nos) placed openly in a box outside the hotel (without any person looking after it). i supposed these umbrellas are for the hotel guest usage. prior to this, i didn't know the passer-bys (non hotel guest) in city of hualien do not conveniently take these umbrellas for use. wow, the place is so safe that umbrellas placed outside will not be lost. the biggest surprise was when i entered the hotel room. the decor and the finishing was very new. the place was kept clean and smells clean. the hotel staffs were pleasant, were most patient and extremely clear in their reply, when answering my numerous queries about map, directions to my destinations. this was so unlike my stay in taipei ymca (also known as y-hotel). as a non chinese foreign visitor, i find the chinese in taiwan spoken a little too fast. in classic city, their staffs seemed to a be aware, and they spoke clear and simple chinese when giving direction via map handouts to a first time visitor to hualien like me. the bed and pillow though were a little too soft for our liking (my wife, me and son). a firmer bed and pillow like those we had in ymca taipei ensure we had a good rest for the next day's itinerary. that is a minus point for us. but for a cheaper hotel price compared to ymca taipei, classic city provide daily free breakfast! the range of items was good, its coffee machine with fresh coffee bean was great. there were cereals, fresh fruits, cooked dishes, toasted breads, chilled orange drink, local dishes, etc..

The hotel was recently updated. My room did not have smell of smoke. The staff was friendly. Get there early if a parking space is important. I enjoyed my stay in Hualien.

Beautiful concept hotel in Hualien that provides personalized service for their guests! Their attentive staffs went extra mile to provide baby cot, baby tub & ensure we are good for our 2 nights stay there. Highly recommend it as a family friendly hotel!

Location is very strategic and convenient because it’s very near Hualien station. Wherever u wanna go in Hualien, it has the best location to go from because most public buses and trains are all accessible here at Hualien station. It’s a green building hostel and easily spotted across from the station. There’s a cafe at the entrance of the building, or other alternatives like 7-11 is just a stone throw away. Beside the building is Hualien’s very famous Mochi Store which tasted superbly good. Hostel service was really beyond expected. Months before check-in date I was already contacted by their staff members via WhatsApp regarding on our itinerary and booking assistance whichever that we required. Or even just a simple enquiry that u may have about Hualien, they would be glad to answer or assist with. We managed to reserve 2 outdoor activities that we wanna participate in Hualien through their assistance in the bookings and the best part is we could make payment on our check-in date itself, without going through complicated bank transfers or emailing of personal documents. Through WoW Hostel helps to save up all the hassle and complicated procedures. Hygiene for the hostel is really, really clean. I have never seen such a clean hostel and their hygiene really impressed me. Facilities of the hostel is very pleasant and cosy. Very old school/retro vibe environment and simple toast and coffee provided for Breakfast every morning. Beds are quite comfy and sufficient space provided for luggages, adequate privacy and space if you’re staying in dormitory style rooms. Language communication maybe a bit difficult if you can’t communicate in Chinese, but some of the staff there knows little English so they will try their best to help u. Overall it’s super value for money, I will always come back here if I ever get the chance to travel around Hualien the next time.

It's an average hostel in terms of decor and look and that goes up to spectacular because of it's location. Stay in Tianxiang to get much more convenient access to the Taroko Gorge walks instead of staying in Hualien or Xincheng. It feels a bit on the pricey side, but considering the lack of other options and its relatively secluded location it's pretty good. Try to get a room facing the mountain, it's an amazing view. Staff are friendly and accommodating Only negative was the food, very oily veggies for dinner and breakfast, but a lot of breakfast is like this in Taiwan.

The staff was very very helpful. From the moment they fetched us from the airport, the service level was impeccable. Arsma is one of the newest hotel in Hualien, well-designed and comfortable. It is located next to the main shopping "triangle" in Hualien, where you can find clothes, shoee and local street food. We will certainly stay at Arsma again if we visit Hualien again!

Very safety place , clean and big room, staff is very good service, has sevice mind...We are appreciated. Closed to night market, walk 5 mins...Closed to the beach too...Need only mirror in room not only in bathroom... will be perfect place that do not miss when visit Hualien City in Taiwan...
