Traveling to Thailand? Find Khon Kaen hotels

This is probably my second or third review of the Avani Khon Kaen. This is by far the best hotel in Khon Kaen. We always stay here and will continue to stay here when we come to Khon Kaen for my son's tennis matches. The staff really goes out of their way to help, and their English skills are very good. The rooms are clean, and the restaurants are fantastic. Look no further. This is the best hotel to stay in Khon Kaen!. Thank you for such great service. I look forward to my next trip. this is a 5 star hotel in khon kaen. for thais, this is an expensive hotel but for non-thais in usa, it is good price for this hotel. newest hotel in khon kaen. staff is excellent with good english. very helpful. free wifi..the room was excellent and comfortable. bathroom had bathtub and bright and clean. the hallway closet even opened to the bathroom if you needed something from the closet. this is a must stay hotel. the lobby is huge. bar and pastry shop there. sports bar downstairs from lobby. of all the hotels i stayed in thailand, this was the nicest of everything. even though the room was average size for thailand, it was good. bed was big and comfortable. pool was shallow but big/long. a kiddie pool is at one end. i would definately recommend this for anyone. family or single. a top notch, first class hotel. agoda members, please patronize this hotel. you won't be disappointed. they have most everything you will need in a hotel/stay. and the hotel is in a nice location to walk to other places. the one negative is room service food price. it is expensive for room service food. it is good but expensive!! more than 1 restaurant in the hotel to eat. read shopping eating tips below..

We originally booked Glacier as we had planned to take the train onward to Nong Khai and it is very close to the train station but in the end the train times are very inconvenient so we took a bus. There are 3 bus staions in Khon Kaen so that was a bit confusing but we arrived and departed from the air con bus terminal to the west of the city. A songtaew is the best form of transport. Our room and bed were huge. The air con worked great. There was no plug for the bath and the shower leaked a bit. The breakfast was very good. Lots of variety. Even tom kha soup one morning mmmmm! You eat breakfast by the pool. The room service meals were huge and very tasty. The pool area is a bit weirdly designed in that to enter the actual pool you have to walk through the breakfast dining area. The pool is under cover so doesn't get any sun. The water was super cold because of this but the air temperature is so hot of course so it's not a problem. The sun lounge area is kind of separate which is annoying when you have to supervise your children in the pool. There were only 2 sun lounges and the area was basically the smoking area so there was cigarette butts everywhere and it was just a dirty area compared to the rest of the motel. There was a super cheap landromat across the road and a 7 eleven close by. It is also walking distance to the big Central Plaza for many restaurants and shopping. We highly recommend Glacier in Khon Kaen. We

everything in Khon Kaen is easy to reach from the Rosa; Pullman Hotel is next door, Rosa Shopping Center is right across from the hotel entrance & has two floors of electronic sales, many other shops in ground floor, also many good & clean restaurants, below that is a supermarket for fruits, ready made meals, vegetables, bottled drinks from milk to beer & all kind of non-alcoholics; daily necessities, bread & other nice sweets, ice cream, etc. A building full of Japanese restaurants of many styles is just 6-7 minutes away, the grand TOP mega shopping center incl. all major banks & again dozens of restaurants even for the smaller purse is about 400 - 500 meters away. The major local market with delicious Durians & Mangosteens is a ten minutes walk away & exciting. Do not forget the extremely interesting Local branch of the National Museum, Two of the major temples in Khon Kaen are worth a visit, really. The dinner place at the Bung Na Nakhon (city´s lake) is very nice. For other attractions ask at the hotel, as there are plenty: Ban Puh, another interesting strange temple about 50 kms to the west of Khon Kaen with strange paintings/frescoes of soldiers, perhaps built by a small most Vietnamese community. Driving from Khon Kaen south to Phimai / Nakhon Ratchasima would give you a good opportunity visiting several former Khmer temples. Visit also Chonnabot (a side trip from the main road south; a very famous silk weaving community) and also Chayaphum with many Khmer buildings still there, from 10th cent. up). All these places are not overcrowded by tourists. Enjoy !

SINCE THAT WAS MY FAMILY AND I FIRST TIME IN KHON KAEN AND ALSO THE FIRST TIME STAYED IN THIS HOTEL WE FOUND THAT AS IF THAT WE HAVE BEEN HERE BEFORE.NOT TO MENTION THAT EVEN THOUGH WE ONLY STAYED ONE NIGHT WE FEEL LIKE STAYING IN OUR COUNTRY THAT IS THE HOSPITALITY OF THE STAFF OF THE HOTELS VERY FRIENDLY AND VERY HUMBLE. THESE RESEMBLES THE CULTURES AND CUSTOMES OF COUNTRY EVEN THOUGH THEY ARE I PRESUMELY NOT MUSLIM. THEREFORE IF MY FAMILY AND I WERE TO VISIT TO KHON KAEN AGAIN WE DEFINITELY WOULD TO STAY TO THIS HOTEL AGAIN

Enjoyed our stay at the B2 Khon Kaen hotel. Rooms were very spacious and clean. Housekeeping was regular and event free. Breakfast was included as part of the room, and it is freshly prepared after you order unlike a typical hotel buffet. Staff were very helpful although they spoke little to no English so we had to get by with some help from a local friend. Would definitely be back again.

Forget the Pullman and the other the big name hotels in Khon Kaen...this is the way to go now. Third of this type of new modern boutique hotel I have stayed. Top quality Fitout. Tv bed bathroom etc. Buffet breakfast is great not huge selection but the quality of the food is superb. Just a little bit seculded from the main highway near the night market but upside Quiet.

The hotel has very interesting character. And the sound of real trains passing by makes the theme stands out! The staff are helpful in answering questions and providing recommendations for where to visit(i.e., night market) in Khon Kaen.

We were only staying one night in Khon Kaen, passing through, hotel was fine for our needs. Looked new, friendly staff, clean room, good aircon and good internet, room had fridge and kettle in also. Is a few restuarant's within walking distance, so all in all would fully recommend.

Comparing to the other hotels in Khon Kaen I would say Mantra Varee offers spacious rooms at a convenient location. All the staff at the reception, restaurant and housekeeping were very attentive and friendly. It is very close to Bung Kaen Nakhorn and the Nong Weang temple which I would recommend visiting. Its 9 plateaus offer a very nice view over the city. For shopping I would recommend visiting the Ton Tann nightmarket or Central Plaza shopping market. Both are easy to get to either by taxi or tuk tuk.

Very good value for money, probably the best one in Khon Kaen at the moment, it still very new hotel opened very recently. It used to be a apartment building that is fully renovated. Some of the employees speak excellent english. If you focus on have a good spacious room which is very new and clean for a good price this is the place to be.

I booked this hotel for a single overnighter to rest in Khon Kaen - meaning I only needed a clean bed and safe parking for my car. Room is clean, check-in and out efficient and for the price, it's best value so far in KK. Will also consider other Hop Inn locations if they're available in other cities too

When I booked the room, the option was 2 single beds, but I got a king size bed when I checked in. The room is clean. Breakfast is buffet style, and in my option, is good, considering the price of the room. I wish the hotel can provide shuttle service to and from the airport, even if there is some charge for it. It is very inconvenient to get taxi in Khon Kaen, especialy for non Thai speakers...

The Bright Hotel is really a secret for guests who have a car, like to walk or don`t care about to take a taxi. On beside the Highway 2 and near to several nice markets. It was so nice there that we decided to take it as our standard hotel in Khon Kaen. The breakfast is good and enough! Big car park and friendly พนักงาน !

We experienced an electrical blackout for the whole morning. By the ways, every other thing is good especially if you want to find a hotel nearby Khon Kaen University.

It may be because of it was low season, this hotel was cheaper than any of the others around. The rooms have AC, TV, telephone, nice little balcony for the smokers. I will come back to this hotel when I'm in Khon Kaen

We enjoyed our stay very much. The staff was very friendly and service was great. The swimming pool is amazing. The resturant had good Thai food and average foreign food. The place is well kept and close to our home in Khon Kaen. We will be going back!!!

If you looking for some good hotel where able to sleep, I recommend. The best thing is the beds, Wifi really needs to be improved in part of connecting (I coundn't connected at all my staying); In addition, towels as well because its so dark.

Incredibly clean and comfortable room, with a sparkling bathroom and excellent hot water shower. Location is convenient for the central bus station (which is connected to the long distance bus station by a regular shuttle) and Gai Yang Rabeab (famous grilled chicken restaurant). Centralplaza, the train station, the lake and the night market are all accessible using local transit (songthaew or the new city bus). Staff were all very friendly and helpful. If I find myself in Khon Kaen again, I would be happy to stay at OMG again.

I always stay in this Hotel when I am in Khon Kaen. The rooms are spacious, clean and have everything I need. The reception provided me with a kettle for making hot drinks and their is plenty of parking. The only downside to the hotel is that there is no bar and the in situ cafe is very limited as far as Westerners are concerned. Also it is not open in the evening. However there is a 24 hour Thai restaurant adjacent to the hotel Car park. So the hotel has everything you need for a good nights sleep, but very little for you to do if you do not go out of the hotel.

I'm traveller and this is a great hotel in overall, nice clean room, good breakfast and also nice staff especially a receptionist because I had a problem when I reserved with Agoda that is my ID booking didn't show when I arrived at the hotel but the staff solved the problem very well, so I really recommend who want to visit Khon Kaen this is a great value hotel that I ever had an experience in Khon Kaen, Thumbs up!

On Airport Grounds. Very nice hotel with helpful front desk and they do speak English. When I was there, the pool was drained to be cleaned and filled again. I really enjoyed my stay and thought this was a good value for the money. The rooms are of average size for Thailand and quite clean and nice. If your ride does NOT show up to pick you up at the airport and you have a light bag-you can walk to the hotel. IF IF you need too. I enjoyed the grounds that were large. The dinning room was nice with good food for average price. The food prices are not your normal expensive hotel prices. Not real cheap but well worth the price compared to all the hotels I have stayed at in Thailand. A nice little bridge to walk over to the restaurant. Breakfast was nice and recommended highly. I WILL definately stay here again on my next trip. And of course, if you have a late flight in or early flight out of Khon Kaen, this is the hotel to stay. I LOVED this hotel and would recommend this for a stay to any Agoda member. There are a few areas of grounds that are big and nice to walk. A few small cages with different animals is nice to see. FYI-this is on the airport grounds so it is not real close to other activities, although there were 2 other outside restaurants to eat across the road for the hotel. A quiet stay hotel too. WiFi...

Booked through Agoda which appears to have the best rates. I then rebooked more days at the same hotel. The location really works well in this clean hotel that has really fine staff. Breakfast worked very well for me as I am turning into a vegetarian. Shopping Central Plaza, the people in Khon Kaen are the nicest. There are bars and karaoke places. You may get to the lake, bus stations quickly. It is probably the best all around hotel as it is calm throughout the entire stay. Management, room service and calm atmosphere are great. You can go out exploring the many places in a few blocks or walk miles exploring and then just come back to your comfortable, clean, quiet room and really relax most well. This hotel really is accommodating for travelers like me as I have my space and requests are most quickly assisted. Check-in and check-out is most simple and they gave me a ride to the bus station. This is the hotel that I will return to as it works very well all around.

the hotel is so nice given the price. the room is huge and the bathroom is clean. i would definitely stay here again if i visit khon kaen again. the only thing that i didnt like was that the room didnt have a balcony.

we really enjoyed our stay with the staff being very friendly. this is our second time visit and we chose to book into the deluxe room which is very very spacious. good selection of tv channels and thai/american breakfast are very good every morning. its location is just 15 mins from airport and 10 mins from the centre of town by taxi. there is a taxi outside the hotel as well as taxi are not easy to come by in khon kaen. great fashion market opposite to the hotel.

This is one of my favorite hotels to stay when I am in Khon Kaen. It is a very nice priced hotel with great location. It is located on one of the main streets in Khon Kaen. What is good about the hotel, is that it is quiet even being close to the main street. Nice plants in the center of the hotel. Staff has limited English but professional and helpful. I have stayed here many times in Khon Kaen because of the staff and hotel. Rooms are clean. Bathrooms are Western style. They are planning to add a swimming pool in 2013. Wifi has good reception in room ( I was on 3rd floor) and in the lobby. Again, this is my usual stay when I am in KK and I am always pleased with my stay. FOOD stands are all along and next to the hotel. You won't be disappointed with the street vendors. Breakfast in limited with the same usual breakfast every morning.

- Connected to famous Thai restaurants, the foods are all great - Room is a throw back to 1980s design surrounded by beautiful garden - Opportunity to explore city of Khon Kaen and North-Easterm Thai cultures - Should rent a car to make your life easier and to explore local sights which can be quite a distance from each others - Staffs are friendly and willing to help but take note that the resort is very lightly staffed so expect some patience - Hotel has good contact with local Thai masseurs - great experience at value for money

We thought The Charm was a great value-- not the cheapest place in town but very affordable. The place was new and modern with a warm feel, without being "trendy" or "cutesy" like many of the newer hotels in Thailand. Soft, comfortable beds. Mostly Asian breakfast options but some toast & eggs available too. Pretty good coffee. The internet worked fine except for skype/facetime. We will definitely stay here again the next time we're in Khon Kaen.

The best deal in khon kaen, very clean, nice room, free coffee and tea in room. Good free wifi, good tv signal. They give free soft drinks also which is nice. Good shower, good bed, professional staff. Breakfast is good and enough for foreigners and thai customers. Huge parking, quiet in the back with a lake. Very good deal for the price and services. Highly recommend and not far from the airport.
