Traveling to Thailand? Find Ko Pha-ngan hotels

This was our 2nd time in Koh Phangan but by far the best trip, largely due to staying at the Coast Resort. The hotel is beautiful designed, with a modern aesthetic, by the owners whom I’m told are all architects. The resort really caters to a younger and hip crowd; I’d say mid 20’s to mid 40’s from what we could see. (We like that it's not a family hotel) We upgraded to a fantastic poolside suite facing the beach. It was well worth it as it made trips to the pool (and pool bar) a breeze. The room featured a spectacular ensuite bathroom with an open concept shower. The dual shower heads were a really nice touch! Live DJ’s would spin pool side in the afternoon till’ about 7pm. This may have been because we were there during the Full moon party – I am not sure if this is a regular occurrence. It really energized the place. Everyone was very social and having a great time. The open air restaurant next to pool offered both Western and Thai cuisine. We stuck to the Thai options and it was some of the best food we had during our entire trip to Thailand. The buffet breakfast could be improved though, some Thai options would be nice. The fitness room was really well equipped too. Everything one would need to keep up the routine while travelling. We can’t say enough good things about the staff. They were all very friendly and good at what they do. Communicating in English was no problem at all either. We did think that the rooms were a bit sparse in their furnishings however. This may be due to the clean line modern look of the space. But, a lounge chair would have been nice to relax in. Also, it did not have a desk or task chair in the room to set up our laptop on. These items are typically “standard” in a hotel room so I really think the owners should incorporate them. But all in all we still did love the space. We both highly recommend The Coast Hotel and we would definitely only stay here ourselves if/when we visit the island again.

One of the best hotels i stayed the last years, and we stay in a lot of hotels, very friendly and helpful staff, nice private beach, some corals next to beach. The only downside of the hotel its quiet isolated in koh phangan, the roads to the hotel are in very bad condition. Amazing breakfast as amazing swimming pool, but most likely you will use your private swimming pool if you stay in the villas. I would really book a villa, as the normal rooms are quiet far up in the hills, so you walk a while to the beach. From the villas you can access the beach within 3-4 minutes. Booked hotel trips quiet expensive, better to chilla and relax in the hotel. Very friendly and helpful staff.

The staff is the nicest there is...we've been in a couple of resorts in koh phangan including annatra and kupu kupu ... This one is the best the beach is not great for swimming but its amazingly beautiful...and the resturant is not that great but the staff is amazing and the breakfet is very good. We'll defiantly return next year

Having stayed at numerous hotels in koh phangan over the years, this was definitely one of the best. Thr breakfast was good, rooms clean and spacious along with a lovely beach and restaurant. Only negative was the constant building works in the restaurant area but it is low season and perhaps this shouldbe expected to some degree

This is our best experience in Thailand during our 3 weeks here! The staff is fantastic and unbelievable friendly! A hide away from the Haad Rin area. 100m from the hotel you have Koh Maa and a fantastic beach, another small resort next door with great thaifood! We had a deluxe room which were very spacious with a big terrace, the only thing is that you don't have a toiletdoor, just wardrobes doors and a half glass door, but what the hell for us was no problem. We came from the Thongsala area and asked the hotel if they could pick us up, and they did, for free! Well cleaned, well maintained, good restaurant(not fantastic) but a great bartender(Tuk-Tuk) who made the best Long Island and Margerita we tasted in Koh Phangan!

The first thing that struck me about Milky Bay was the space between and the sheer size of the villas. We stayed in Villa and if you are tossing up between a villa and a normal room I urge you to splash out and get this style of room, worth every penny. Everything from the second/day bed in the corner, the couches, the spacious bathroom... having stayed in a few different styles of resorts and hotels since starting to holiday in Thailand this place is definitely my favourite. We hired a scooter (which was a workhorse) for our stay through the hotel and didn't get scammed, so this place can be trusted. We also got out DVDs, they have a good selection of brouchers and a nice looking pool. We also got massages every day, the ladies were awesome! We also had breakfast & dinner most days here and were never bored with the selection. We did get sick for a night or two, we're not sure if it was from the ice in our many (many) cocktails or something we caught beforehand, but if in doubt stick to beer in Koh Phangan. This resort is also in between Haad Rin and Thong Sala which was handy for all our travel and partying needs, also close to the cross roads to head up to Canopy Adventure and Thong Nai. All in all this is a top place to stay and would definitly recommend it to friends and family and while we like to try a new place every time we come to Thailand it will be hard to top this place.

We arrived at the Koh Phangan jetty and rented a 4x4 car for about USD 40 per day. The resort does provide pickup service from the jetty (chargeable per person per way) but if you have more than 4 persons it is better to rent a 4x4 car. The distance from the jetty to the resort is quite far but the traffic and road condition is consider good except that you need to drive through a jungle track (quite a distance and it is advised to bring your GPS device together). Once we arrived at the resort, everything is wonderful, the room, the ocean view, the surroundings…etc. We just stay at the resort for 2 nights and would like to come back again. One of the best resort in Koh Phangan and highly recommended.

What an incredible hotel with exceptional services from the staff. We arrived at the Buri Rasa Koh Phangan after a horrible experience with a different hotel in Koh Samui. Not knowing what to expect, the moment we checked in Khun Banana at front desk made us feel we have arrived at a place where we could let our guards down. Each day we dove deeper and deeper into a state of relaxation, swimming and playing on the beautiful beach then coming back to a beautiful clean room and soft bed. Breakfast each day was prepared individually to your liking not like other hotels with the buffet breakfast prepare for the masses. Each member of staff were polite, helpful and friendly. The hotel though not yet finished and work was being carried out the whole time we were there, we were not disturb by the noise as we spent all day enjoying the outdoors and retires to the room when the work ceases at 4pm. So many other little nice touches about the hotel and staff that surprised and delighted us and we will leave you to discover for yourself. We leave feeling that we have spent our time and money on a truly unique hotel. Highly recommend this hotel to anyone seeking value for their money and absolute relaxation.

We stayed in a Garden Hut for 4 nights. The huts have recently been renovated and further renovation works are ongoing (Mar19 - not really noticeable as the work is carried out behind a green panel fence). The hut was functional with large double bed (2 singles together) nice new bathroom, quiet AC unit. No fridge in room but reception will provide ice box free of charge, just need to pay extra for ice. The garden hut would really benefit from having a small clothes rail or a couple of shelves. WiFi is a bit hit & miss depending on where you are around the site. Free collection from Thongsala Pier. The Hotel is perfectly located at the northern end of the peaceful & tranquil Haad Yao (Long Bay). All amenities are a short walk away (7-Eleven etc..) although renting a scooter is the best way to see the best of what Koh Phangan has to offer.

my favorite place to stay in koh phangan but not ideal for long term more than 4 days. the rooms are basic, some bungalows have flushable toilets ( some you have to pour water on it but at least it's not a squat toilet). it's supposed to be eco friendly so there is no hot water but totally tolerable. beware as some of the bathrooms have no proper insulation so mosquitos and bugs get in. staff is very friendly and lots of activities to be had on the resort. the beach is nice, fairly clean and quite. its not close to the full moon party and about a 200 baht ride round trip. you don't want to stay in haad rin anyway it's too loud and dirty plus the food there is overpriced. lime and soda is a 7 min walk away from the night market with great thai food and close to other restaurants. if they had a fridge in the room and some shelves maybe i would book this place for long term.

We just spent a very relaxing week at this lovely, modern bungalow On Koh Phangan. The room was extremely large and perfectly clean with all the mod cons you'd expect. The pool was peaceful, clean and perfect for lounging around all day. The staff were lovely, friendly and always helpful and the breakfast/dinner was a great quality. I'd say this place is worth more than 3 stars! The only down side was the location, you definitely need a scooter to get around as the nearest shops/restaurants are about 15 mins walk away and the roads are not well lit at night. Other than that, if you're looking to really get away from it all, then this is the place! Thanks everyone here for making our stay so enjoyable!

I would highly recommend Sunset Hill Resort to anyone staying in Koh Phangan. I have stayed in many many hotels and resorts not only in Thailand but throughout south east asia and I can easily say without any exaggeration the staff in this resort provided me with the best experience and level of customer care I have ever had. Yes the rooms were beautiful, clean and comfortable and the views were grand. However this comes in second place to the attentiveness and service I received from all staff members which was second to none. Someone was always willing to help me with any problem I had or request I made. Thank you Sunset Hill Resort I will be coming back to stay.

Hotel was very luxurious and beautiful - from our room to pool area. There were alot of spots for sunbathing and relaxing. Staff was helpful and friendly. Every night staff brought some sweets and a letter wishing good night to our room - that was really sweet. Beach was lovely, but quite shallow and not suitable for swimming. Scenery was stunning, sunsets magnificent and love letters at the beach very romantic. Kayak rent was free of charge - you just have to ask. Food was average and expensive. Location was not that great if you want to move around. On the other hand, if you just want to relax it´s perfect. There were no shops and restaurants nearby and you have to take a taxi or rent a scooter to explore around. Our receptionist helped us to rent a scooter and everything went well - don´t have to be afraid to get ripped of afterwards (this seems to be common problem in Koh Phangan). Overall we enjoyed our stay and would reccomend it to everybody.

Every stuff person is so nice - they smile every second and is very helpful even some of them don't speak english well. The food in a restaurant is very good - we tried a lot of restaurants and street food in Thailand, but Tom Yum Kung soup and chilli red fish were the best in here. Hotel managers are very friendly, they offer a bike (booked from friends), booked a boat ticket to Koh Tao, did laundry - everything you actually need they can do. Hotel has a nice pool, that is busy during a day time, they offer Thai massage, too. We booked a sea view bungalow that was nice, just water was really low so is not the best place to swim (we really offer you to visit Bottle Beach - it's perfect place to swim, or Haad Rin, that during day time is quite calm and good swimming beach). Our bungalow had jus some minuses - you cant shut the windows tightly, so a few lizards came inside; also a bed is huge, but it's two separate mattresses, so not so comfortable for a couple. Anyway, rent a bike - you can easily reach every part of Koh Phangan and come back to a calm nice place ant Haad Salad.

Location: near to the sea, stunning view and you can do laundry and rent scooter next to the bungalows. The location is relaxed but not too low. Food: you can do breakfast, lunch and diner very good. We’ve just had Thai cuisine for dinner, which was really delicious!! But you can have western cuisine as well. Breakfast was good too and also various. Accomandation: We slept in pretty nice bungalows which were really good equipment and clean. From time to time we had little guests(Geckos) in our bungalows but you don’t have to be afraid, it is quite normal for Thailand and they are really shy and harmless and the best thing about those, they eat mosquitoes and other little bugs:) Staff: really really kind and friendly. Bar: of course you can have a little drink in the end of the day with really cool barkeepers while you’re listening to relaxing reggae music. Summed up is this such relaxed and nice place to slow down and to have a great time in Koh Phangan.

You can not find a better place to stay in Koh Phangan!! It is on the beautiful Had Rin (sunrise beach) on which the full moon parties are held, but it's on the opposite end of the beach and therefore still quiet enough to get some sleep when you need it. It's central to everything in Koh Phangan but it still feels like you have your own piece of the island even in Peak season. Definitely stay here when in Koh Phangan!!!

This is without a doubt the best place I stayed in Thailand!! Booked here for a few days post-full moon party, there's still loads to do in Koh phangan, I recommend the waterfall party!! The resort is a bit of a walk up to it so maybe not the best place for people with walking difficulties but the views are amazing! It's so hard to believe you're only a few mins away from Haad rin where the full moon party is! The rooms all seem to be a chalet style, all with beautiful views! The rooms had comfortable beds, good air con and no insects! But what really makes this place is the wonderful staff!! Reception staff made us feel so welcome from the beginning, bar and restaurant staff also couldn't do enough to help you. Including carrying cocktails down to the pool for you all day! Special thanks to the waiter Ali who kept us all entertained and allowed us to pick our own music at the bar. Food is lovely here, and you get breakfast included in your room. I can't recommend this place highly enough, the service and the warmth of the staff made it a great experience!

We wanted nice and relaxing accommodation which was not expensive. The resort was one of the best choice for it. Our room had enough space, good sea view and a huge bed. The staff with a British owner could not have been kinder. We can arrange all the transportations in Koh Phangan and one-day trip to Koh Tao through them. We loved our week here and I would love to come back.

From the moment we stepped off the ferry we were welcomed by a member of staff from the resort and transferred free The resort itself is spectacular with breath taking views from the top of one of Koh Phangans mountains Our room was lovely with beautiful sea views, clean , comfortable and a great size with a wonderful balcony. All the staff were brilliant and they made our stay so special and memorable. I will definately stay here again if I return to phangan and would recommend everyone to do the same Thank you Khun Nom and the team

I had a brief stay here so didn't get a major impression of the services, staff, etc. Overall it was good value, though I stayed in other places in Koh Phangan that were the same price for nicer rooms. I booked the Standard Bungalow which was actually across the street from the main hotel area, reception, and beach. The standard bungalows were pretty basic, and if staying here again I would prefer to spend a bit more to have the other garden bungalows or pool access/view rooms. There was also no internet in standard bungalows but it was accessible in all other rooms. The pool is unique, however one problem with it is that, unless you book the "pool access" room category, you can't really lounge next to the pool since the only sunchairs and deck space available is reserved for the Pool Access room guests.

This place has really gave us amazing experience as we were there with kids (7,5,3 and 1 year old) the pool is just amazing. It has different layers so you don't have to always swimm in deep water. The beach is clean, very smooth sand and not busy. In the night we could hear some music but not really loud and that was ok. In this resort is no restaurant or bar but next door is supermarket, restaurants and bars so you can really choose from many options. 5 minutes walk is local market. In general Koh Phangan is more expensive (beer 70bht, scooter for 1 day 250bht) but we have enjoyed are stay there and would totally come back again

We stayed here during the full moon party great location just across the road but silent from the beach parties. There was however an event or religious venue behind the hotel which was pretty noisy in the night on some days. Breakfast was basic but did the job. Shower was good and aircon effective. Pool with sunloungers was nice though pool was a bit cloudy so didn’t use. Would stay again for convenience of location. Also walking distance to the pier for Koh Samui transfer.

I got a room on the 2nd floor with a window directly to the sea, which is awesome. I really enjoyed the room. The place itself (reception, overall hotel, pool etc') also looks amazing! The location of the hotel is also great, I moved by foot (I do take a bike in other locations) because everything is nearby. The main full moon beach (Cactus, Haad Rin) is about 10 minutes walk. Maybe less. THE BEST PART, however, is the FRIENDLY staff. They truly are great people. And here's a special story: I needed to shorten my stay (personal reasons) and move back to another place. That's a few days before my scheduled departure. I did book like 9 days upfront. So, what do I do? Should I leave the money and go? That's not a small amount. I had to leave though. So I went to one of the nice ladies in the reception and told her I had to leave and I want a refund for the remaining days. The surprising part is that she was so kind and understanding - she immediately accepted my request! On Agoda, I paid the booking using a credit card. Without any hesitation, she immediately pulled out the remaining sum of a few thousands bahts! I tell you, this kindness is rare - everywhere around the world!! Overall, during my whole stay, they are very pleasant. I love them. That is the reason I will be with them absolutely every time I visit Koh Phangan, and I highly recommend them to everyone. The Bayshore was absolutely stunning! This was me and my sis first time to Thailand and we loved our stay here in koh phangan. We were in Thailand for 3 weeks. we stayed here 3 nights in beginning of February during half moon party. We are both close to 30 years old and enjoyed the vibe here. Not too young, not too old. Didn't see any kids/ families during our stay either which was nice. Most people including us were here for the half moon party. The hotels location on haad rin beach was amazing and close taxi to ferry. This was actually my favourite beach of all the beaches we saw in Thailand. The sand was soft/ white and water vibrant teal. The hotels pool was steps from the beautiful beach and was perfect! Lots of chairs poolside. Our room was very clean and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful with bookings. The breakfast buffet included was also very good. There are lots of restaurants, shops and bars walking distance from hotel. We ate at mr. K's a few times and was great! Everything you need is very close. We enjoyed the area and it wasn't too crazy because we weren't there for full moon party. We would 100% stay at Bayshore again... hopefully longer next time.

Our first night we stayed in a bungalow for 330 baht. Checked out this one for only 230 and was hooked. Cheap restaurant with great variety. Amazing staff. Perfect location. Cheap scooters. HOT showers. Decent wifi. HUGE rooms. Best value for money in koh Phangan. Stay here, it is GREAT. They book cheaper boats and give you a free drink when you check in. Would come back without a doubt. If you're interested in any tattoos, go to skull tattoo for an artist with 20+ years bamboo experience.

Haad Son Resort is one of the best place in Koh Phangan where you can enjoy a beautiful, clean and quiet beach... Moreover, they have this bay where we can jump and swim with a school of colorful fishes. The staffs are friendly and helpful. They will give us some bread to feed the fishes. Oo, my kids love it. We love it and will definitely be coming back again to this resort. Thank you, Haad Son. We will see you again :*

We spent 5 days at Pingchan, out of our two weeks on the islands. By far the best place we were in. The location is amazing! Quite beach, great food, drinks, plenty of places to wonder around too (or take some day trips), but for us it was being able to just lay back and relax on this amazing beach. The staff is super friendly, the food is great and inexpensive - or you can always wonder to the village to eat in the food stalls there, wonder on the beach to the other locations, take a kayak to nearby beaches. Lots of options, all without effort. The villas are really lovely. Row 1+2 seem to be a bit bigger and with a private yard shower as well as the regular one, but row 3 is also great (we had a room in each). The beds were super comfortable, and the villas were just so well designed to make you feel like in a hut on the beach. The only thing that wasn't perfect was the shower in the room - the water flow was very weak, and the shower heads in both rooms leaked a bit.

I stayed here for three nights during the Full Moon Festival, so the area hotel prices in Koh Phangan were all extremely inflated at this time. However, the quality of the room matched the hotel's 3 star rating, not "Thailand 3 star" but actual clean rooms that had no major building issues, mosquito infestations, hot/cold water problems, etc. The room seemed newly built, two bottles of water received free daily, air conditioning actually cooled the room, and the WiFi worked extremely well in my room on the top/3rd floor). As for party/street noise, I heard none, though my room faced the back side away from the street. With the room's great blackout curtains and comfy beds, I slept well even in the middle of the party scene. I would stay here again, even at the higher peak prices.

Had a not-so-good hotel in Bangkok and was kind of thinking this would be worse. Turned out to be the best part of our trip in Thailand. Did a stupid mistake booking twice and despite the no refund policy, they did give me back my money. Location is very close to a lot of restaurants, bars, convenience stores, bike rentals, etc yet not noisy. Place is peaceful and relaxing. Restaurant has a nice view overlooking Andaman Sea and they have this pool. Very clean everywhere and it's got loads of different greens. Staff are friendly, accommodating and helpful. The coffee banana shake is a must-try. Food is reasonable priced and tasty. The rooms are neat and tidy. Actually surprised to come back to literally everything tidied up down to our clothes. Nothing missing and even the tiniest bit of our stuff we could easily find. They changed the towels and mats every couple of days and the sheets and pillowcases too. Receptionist was quite helpful. Wifi connection is fast and reliable. Never fluctuated our whole stay. We absolutely had the best time that we extended our stay. I'd say the best place to stay at in Koh Phangan. Definitely highest on my recommendation list.

One of the most nice places in Koh Phangan. Tranquolity and chillout flyes in the air at Loifa resort. Staff is briliant. Resort is cozy and nnice just on the secluded small beach in Sritanu. Perfect breakfast, beutifull garden, two pools.... sure we come back again. Thanks Loyfa
