Traveling to Portugal? Find Lisbon hotels

I chose Hotel Star Inn because of its location.... I had an early flight the next day. The location was perfect, I could have walked to the airport. The hotel was clean and well maintained. The single most important thing about Hotel Star Inn is the amazing staff! Everyone was friendly to me and made sure all of my needs were met. Due to my early departure, the desk staff offered to have a breakfast box made up for me since I might not have time to sit down to breakfast in the morning. The staff left a warm and enduring positive impression of my stay in Portugal.

Clean, modern hotel. We didn’t book breakfast so can’t comment on that, relatively small, there was no bar. Our room was lovely and modern, on the small side but we knew that before we booked from previous reviews, the bathroom was clean and modern with a fantastic shower, the bedding was changed everyday and the room tided. We paid before we arrived at the hotel and upon checkout we was asked to pay the hotel tax, which I understand this has to be paid, I believe we should have been told this at the beginning of our stay or been made aware that at the end of the stay this would need to be paid, a little heads up would of been nice. It cost us €20 for 5 nights for two people. Lisbon is beatiful and you rarely spend time in the room, so I would say this is perfect for that. A great comfy bed at the end of a day of walking up all the hills of Lisbon.

My wife and I stayed here to celebrate our 25th Wedding Anniversary. The hotel is very nice, however, it is in the business area of Lisbon, and there is not a lot to do in the immediate vicinity. The room we had was spacious, spotlessly clean, had a huge comfortable bed, and very contemporary design - Easily the best hotel I've stayed in. The whole hotel was excellent and the breakfast was incredible. One negative was the cost of the drinks - We had a large beer (half litre) and a fruit crush, and it cost 21 Euros. I am used to working in London, and have stayed in several 5* hotels, but I was surprised at the cost.

There isn't much I could fault this hotel it was good value for money and very close to the train station where it is so easy to get around. The staff were always in the lobby to say hello and goodbye as we entered and exited the hotel. The rooms were very comfortable but some of the lights in the room weren't working. It isn't in the best location as there isn't much in the local area but there is a nice and cheap restaurant around the corner calls Cup&Cino which is open until 2am, we went there everyday. The hotel food was a little expensive and took a very long time to come after being ordered even though there was only one other person in the restaurant at the time. Overall, it was a very pleasant stay for 5 nights and I would definitely use this hotel again. The staff helped to enhance the experience of staying in Lisbon.

I would recommend this hotel to everyone for the location, cleanliness, staff were so helpful. We stayed 4 nights in Lisbon end of July, then we did Porto and then Algarve. I can say that the staff at My Story Hotel Ouro are the best. We came back to take our plane in Lisbon and we asked if they were able to keep our luggage for 2 hours, with no hesitation they said yes and very helpful even to bring back our luggage. Thank you to all of you, we will be back.

We arrived in Lisbon after a tiring red eye flight and delays retrieving luggage and were quite exhausted. But upon arrival at the hotel, staff were very supportive (although room wasn't available for early check-in). Still, we were able to refresh ourselves in their lobby as we took a few moments to change etc in their rather spacious rest rooms. The rooms were a tad small, but the beds were very comfortable and welcoming. They also surprised us with a small bed for our son, to which he slept soundly. And despite facing the plaza, we didn't hear the local noises. Breakfast was simple (eggs with bacon) but they had a nice quality selection of breads, meats and toppings for yogurt. The staff were very pleasant and helpful across the board. A great value considering the proximity to some of the best neighborhoods in the city.

One of the best hotels I stayed in. It was clean with an amazing location they also had a roof top restaurant and pool. The staff were very friendly, if you are planning to visit Lisbon please do your self a favor and book this hotel.

They have nearby restaurants and supermarket and Amoreiras shopping. 7. Pleasant staff, despite the check-in was a bit of a wait. 8. Overall, the hotel is comfortable comparing with other hotels in Lisbon. Definitely return.

Greeted warmly as soon as we arrived. Check in was easy, rooms were great and very clean. Would gladly recommend to friends and others. Hope to come back another day to see more of Lisbon.

We really enjoyed our stay at the hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very tasty and pleasant to have each morning before we set out for the day. The hotel is in a great location in walking distance to most attractions in Lisbon. It was also very easy to get to from the hotel - you can just catch the aerobus to Rossio square for 4 euro. We would happily stay again and felt the hotel was good value for money.

I stayed here in March with 4 friends. We had a 2 bedroom apartment and everything was great. The apartment was clean well stocked with linen, toiletries and kitchen necessities. The location was also perfect especially being right across the road from the Time Out market and a stone's throw from the water. It's really easy to get around the city from here. The only negative about our apartment was a permanent smell of what smelt like blocked drains or sewage in one particular part of the apartment. I spoke to Luis about this and apparently it's a common problem because they're by the water but he provided us with lots of air fresheners to mask the odour. I would stay here again as it was great value for money.

We stay here for 3 nights . Unluckily, we had arrived Lisbon on a rainny week! But at the bright side this guest house is amazing to stay! Spacious room space, very clean and worth the stay! Near the metro, bus n supermarket too, Feel like we just can rest in the room during the bad weather time. Plus receptionist here are very friendly. Overall it was the best stay in our trip ! Would definitely recommend this hotel for my friends and family!

Corpo Santo Hotel is conveniently located at walking distance from many places of interest in the heart of Lisbon. I must say it is in a quiet area though. There are several restaurants in the vicinity. The room was of good size cozy and welcoming with a touch of modern luxury. Shower and toilet was clean and in very good condition. Rooms are serviced daily and most days I notice they return in the evening to make our bed. The staff were extremely helpful - we felt they looked after us like family- it would be a better way to word it. They could not find us an iron and an ironing board so the laundry volunteered to iron a pile of clothes for us without charge. The breakfast was delicious with plenty of options. The concierge was exceptional too in helping us with a private tour to Sintra. The tour guide the hotel recommended (Joe) was professional, friendly and knowledgable. We also enjoyed complementary ice creams daily. I strongly recommend this hotel if you are staying in Lisbon.

I received a room upgrade after being told my booking at Brown's Boutique was cancelled and they failed to notify me prior to check in. But they definitely made up for it at Brown's Central. The room was spacious (esp by European standards) and I was impressed by the amenities: a Mac desktop, Marshall bluetooth speakers, plenty of power sockets, full length mirror, a well-stocked mini bar and more. I also received coupons for a welcome drink. The bed was huge and I had a balcony view of the streets. The breakfast was simple but lovely. The front desk was helpful but not as warm as the other hotels I stayed at during my time in Portugal. The location of this hotel is hard to beat - restaurants and cafes throughout the streets and a bar just across the hotel that featured a pretty cool live band that kept me entertained all night. I would recommend this hotel to those hitting Lisbon for the first time - it's a great place to start your travels in this beautiful city.

We can not recommend this hotel enough. Abosolutely fantastic location and ideal for exploring Lisbon . Our room had everything we wanted and was spotlessly clean. We had breakfast included and there was such a large choice that everyone is catered for , there is even champagne for those who fancy an early drink. I would particularly like to praise the staff at the hotel. They are clearly very proud of the hotel and nothing is to much trouble .

One of the best rooms in Lisbon with attention to details. Front office staff were very helpful and friendly and looked after the needs of the guests really well. Good breakfast too compliments to the chef with endless refills. This was my second stay at Browns Hotel in Lisbon and will definitely stay again !!!

We stayed in Hotel Avenida Palace for 4 nights in January 2017. The hotel is strikingly beautiful and the rooms are beautifully appointed. The staff is warm and welcoming and can assist with any request you need help with. Location is excellent - right next to the Roissi train station; although you hear absolutely no noise from the train station. The metro is a very short walk away. The rooms are very quiet and extremely clean - the room was attended to at least 3 times a day (turn down of sheets, cleaning, etc). The manager also sent us a welcome gift of port on our second night - great surprise! Loved the daily breakfast which was included - gorgeous dining room with an incredible array of food that should please any eater. I also noticed that if requested, eggs would be cooked to order. The value for this five star hotel is outstanding! Highly recommend it to anyone looking for a tranquil stay in the center of Lisbon.

We are very happy with their services which should be up to 5 star level. Although its location is a bit far ( by walking ) to the cit down town, but we are 100% satisfied with their staffs services, who are friendly, understandable and helpful, e.g. even we are a little bit for check in, they were still patient to explain and tried their best to help us to sort out a room asap, which should be out of the any normal 4 star hotel service level, and even above some 5 star prestige hotels...... Their breakfast is good enough in variety and room service is clean and comfort. We have a 5 star impression for this hotel and am happy to give them 100/100 marks.

From the moment I made the call for the shuttle bus, it was all made so easy for us. We arrived at the hotel and immediately we where offered an upgrade to the best room and best view in the house. The choice for breakfast was wonderful and great quality. We where able to leave our bags, as we looked around Lisbon for the afternoon. Besides getting the best room and view in the hotel, it was the staff, that made the hotel shine for me. From the gentleman who pick us up at the airport, the gentleman at the reception, who greeted us. To the receptionist who stored our luggage. She took extra care with some breakables I was carrying. The staff in the restaurant where welcoming, friendly and efficient, and I look forward to revisiting the Tryp Hotel in the future.

I have given multiple 5 star reviews to this hotel, but for the first time this year things didn’t go as smoothly. Some new staff at reception are not very friendly, one lady in particular that seems to forget that it’s part of her job to make guests feel accommodated. Secondly, I left my laundry in the bag in front of the hotel door with the laundry document properly filled up. The cleaning staff ignored it and put it back in the closet. Since I wasn’t in the room for the entire day by the time I came back I realised laundry wasn’t done, this meant I would have to travel the following days without clean clothing. At reception they informed me I should have called them to ask for the laundry to be picked up, although I have for years just left it with the paper fully signed with no issues. These are all minor things, it’s still an amazing hotel with amazing staff, in particular in the restaurant where they really make you feel welcome and at home.

I first booked this hotel for 2 nights only as I was not so sure about how convenient is its location. As that was my first time in Lisbon, I was thinking that staying around Chiado or Alfama would be better and more convenient to go out and explore the city, specially during the night. From what I experienced, however, I can say that it is very easy to move from AVANI Hotel to any of those areas using either taxi or public transportation (there is a Subway station just a few meters from the Hotel). For that reason I booked this same hotel for 4 more nights with no regrets! The room is quite spacious and very well decorated. bathroom is clean with all sort of amenities available. Staff is very courteous and breakfast was delicious. I would certainly consider to stay at AVANI hotel in a next visit to beautiful Lisbon.

the sofitel lisbon hotel is definately a 5 star hotel. the rooms were very big, with a generous sized bathroom. all amenities were included, including proper hairdryer, free wifi, bathrobes, slippers, complimentary water. the only downfall was that there was construction right outside our window everyday starting from about 9am. we complained to reception as we were not notified of this upon checking in and they were happy to give us free breakfast every morning. their breakfast spread is superb!! easy walking distance to all the tourist attractions and hip places.

Booking the small room, I was a little concerned that it might be claustrophobic. It was a lovely space with all I needed. One thing that could have made the room perfect was a chair with a back so I could watch TV or sit at the desk comfortably without having to lie on the bed. Otherwise it was like coming home to family. But I did adore the assortment of chairs in the lobby and on a few late nights, I almost came down there in my pajamas to read. As I told Tania, who was an absolute with lots of helpful hints and a kind ear, the breakfast could use a little changing every now and then. Being there for almost a week, the same offerings got a little old and for those of us who don't eat ham or sweets, it was quite limiting. All in all, anyone who wants a safe, clean, welcoming place to stay in Lisbon, close to any type of transportation and lots of places to eat should look to stay at Browns Downtown, my home away from home in Lisbon. And once again, thanks Tania, Rebekka and everyone else.

This was a great location for our stay in Lisbon. The metro is less than a 2 minute walk. Plenty of sightseeing, shopping, dining are just a few minute walk away. The rooftop pool area is a great place to relax with a snack or drink. The rooms were clean, modern and fun. The best part of HF Fenix Music, however, is the staff. They were pleasant, helpful and went the extra mile to help us when we encountered some difficulties with airlines and car rentals. I would definitely stay here again.

Traveling to the unknown is like jumping into a pool, deep end first and hoping you float. My family trip to Lisbon felt the same way (we were 11). I did extensive research on quality hotels without knowing which area to select, relying on travel hotel websites and reading reviews. By sheer luck I selected the Tivoli which had a special room rate offer at the time (3 months before the trip). The hotel bent over backwards to make sure our stay was unforgettable. One standard room was upgraded to a huge suite for my son and his family. We had 3 taxis at our disposal when needed. The brasserie arranged a long table for our meals. Housekeeping was unbelievably efficient -- rooms were cleaned and beds made with plenty of new towels within 15 minutes after we left our rooms. The hotel is centrally located, in the best neighborhood of Lisbon, Every site worth visiting was a short walk away. And there was no shortage in hospitality and eagerness to assist. The rooms are on the expensive side, if you do not take advantage of periodic special offers -- watch the travel websites.

Beautiful hotel situated on main avenue in Lisbon. Friendly helpful staff and two excellent restaurants.

The hotel was conveniently located, 5 mins walk to the metro. The room was spacious with a large table and spacious bath. The finishing was modern, with a lot of wood, like a more mellow and sphisticated Ikea. Very clean and comfortable. The breakfast buffet was great, with good breads, sumo and cakes and more. Great value for money. My hotel of choice when I next visit the lovely city of Lisbon again.

The hotel is well located for a tourist visit in Lisbon, in a relatively quiet side street. The staff was helpful, easy-going and young. The rooms were nicely furnished, we particularly liked the music in the room. Unfortunately there was not enough parking for hotel guests, we had to park our car in the street, and watch the parking time to slot more coins. The insulation of the windows was excellent, no noise came in from outside, however the shoes of the neighbours was quite loud on the parquet, a carpet in the rooms would bee more silent. But gerenally we liked this place, and would recommend it.

i visited lisbon for joining conference and need to use my laptop. unfortunately i forgot to bring adaptor for my charger plug to fit in the "european-used" socket. i planned to buy one and was asking the from desk about where to buy it. she searched some left but still usable adaptors in her desk and one of them did fit well. this kindly service save my time, allow me to focus on my work and squeeze some time for sightseeing. i am very appreciated. the room is small but delicate. there is not much facilities due to limitation and size of the building. the building was rebuild but still full of historical atmosphere. they serve breakfast with good quality and reasonable price for business travelers. you could still easily find some less expansive options within walking minutes.
