our travel agent searched for hours/days for the best hotel in madrid based on our budget and we were very happy with the nh nacional hotel. the location was perfect, a short walk from the rail station and our arrival train into madrid, and the surrounding streets and plazas were crowded with people, shops, rastaurants and bars. the rooms are not large but more than adequate for our stay. all in all a great stay.

Travelling from Australia to the Canary Islands we decided to overnight in Madrid to see a performance of The Lion King. We therefore needed an hotel close to the Gran Via at a reasonable price and selected the Hotel Quatro Puerta del Sol based on its Agoda reviews. We were not disappointed - the hotel is ideally placed to visit Madrid, is clean and the staff very helpful and courteous. The room we were given on the top floor of the hotel had a large external terrace with views out over the city, a table, chairs and a sunlounger. The bedroom itself was well equipped, very clean, and reasonably large by Madrid inner city standards and the bathroom was equally good. The only negative was that the TV was mounted on a wall at the side of the bed and was difficult to watch from the twin beds. The biggest surprise was a very impressive breakfast in the hotel the following morning. A self service buffet with fresh fruits, breads of varying types, numerous different cereals, meats, cheeses etc - all for the price of €7 per person. Having now found this very centrally located hotel we shall definitely be staying at the Hotel Quatro Puerta del Sol again on our next visit to Madrid.

Location: Great. Note that Gran Via metro station is under renovation. However, Sol metro station (which is just a stop before Gran Via on the blue line from the Atocha train station) is only a 3 to 5 mins’ walk away. Sol metro station is where the Sol Square (Puerta del Sol) is. Hotel is walking distance to most of the tourist attractions. There are many restaurants and tapas bars nearby that open till late. The biggest advantage of the hotel is that it’s located on a smaller street next to the main crowded street/area so you won’t be disturbed by the noises at night and yet all the places are easily accessible by foot. Room: Great. Big, spacious, clean and well/newly furnished. Staff: Check-in and out was fast. Staff were polite. If there’s anything that they could do better, perhaps more could be done to introduce the places of interest to guests. Value for money: Very worth it! Highly recommended and would definitely stay in this hotel again when I’m back in Madrid.

This is the only hotel I know in Madrid. Whenever I go to Madrid, I stay there. It is very convenient for me because the metro and the train station are there. You can go to the airport by metro and it takes only 30/40 minutes. Also, if you travel to the rest of Spain (Avila, Salamanca), the train is also there, forget the hassle to find a taxi or a bus, or carry your luggage for more than 5 minutes. The hotel is very clean and the rooms are clear and with big windows. The bathroom is also very clean and the shower has a lot of pressure (even if you are on the 7th floor). There is a breakfast buffet with a lot of food. For me is perfect. The variety is great. I have read some reviews from customers that said that the food was not good. Well, in this case, these people have to go to a 3 starts Michelin. I recommend it and I will go again in March.

The hotel is conveniently located in central Madrid, in Huertas, between the Royal Palace and Plaza Mayor in one direction and the Prado Museum in the other. The area immediately around the hotel is a bit run down but a couple of blocks in either direction takes you to the restaurant/bar area of Los Latinas or towards several squares such as Plaza Mayor and Plaza del Sol which are good. Our room was very clean and modern and very spacious - the bathroom had an enormous shower! It was a bit tucked out of the way on the ground floor and only looked into an internal courtyard but given the price we paid, we couldn't complain. The staff were friendly and helpful when we had a couple of queries, speaking good English. It looks like the chain runs several other hotels in Madrid (a couple of others on the same street!) and if this was representative, they are well worth looking into.

this is definitely a hotel i would recommend to anyone visiting madrid. the room may not be huge but it is comfortable, extremely well kept, clean and well equipped. there are sufficient pillows and cushions unlike some other hotels. the service staff is very friendly, helpful and accommodating. i was supposed to check out after three nights' stay but i extended another night before departing madrid for barcelona. after a week in barcelona, my plan was to return to madrid, stay the night with a friend before flying off to asia the next day. the staff was more than happy to help look after my bags for that one day even though i would no longer be registered as their guest. what great after sales service!!! in the end i decided to just book another night with them instead of staying with my friend. in that one trip to madrid, i returned to catalonia atocha 3 times - simply because it was like 'home' away from home. as for location, it is almost accessible to all the major sites and places with just 10-15 minutes walk or by metro that is a minute away. and yes....the hotel staff willingly and patiently showed me how to get to these places. definitely catalonia atocha.

I had stayed at this hotel last summer for approximately a week and I was delighted to find out that it has kept the same standards of excellence. The hotel s strategically located in a very quiet neighborhood, away fro the bustling downtown but close enough to all facilities - metro, restaurants, convenience stores, etc. The service was impeccable at all levels, from the welcoming and friendly team manning the reception all the way to the waiters and maids. In terms of cleanliness, the rooms and common areas alike were spotless. The breakfast buffet is conveniently pen till 11:00 am and offers a great variety of food items to suit all tastes - from fried eggs, meats and tortillas to viennoiseries and fruits, and even a health food corner. All in all, this a hotel I recommend without hesitation and would certainly patronize again in the future.

the hotel is very close to bus stops and the metro. 15 min drive by taxi from the airport. the staff was really proficient in english which helped us a lot as we do not speak spanish at all. the room was beautiful - wooden floors, huge king size bed and the bathroom was really nice - we felt like vip's. the pricing of the restaurant was affordable and the food delicious. i would happily stay here again whenever i travel to madrid again and i recommend this hotel

Typical Novotel quality and service. Hotel is relatively new inside and quite spacious. Location is not right in the middle of Madrid, so there's a bit of a commute to get to the sights, but on the other hand it's quiet at night and literally 100m from the first stop of the export express bus. There are several subway stations nearby (try using Goya for quick access to the city center) and some supermarkets, restaurants, cafes etc. We arrived at 9am after a long flight and were given a room right away which was very much appreciated. Rooms are big enough with good bathroom, big TV, free bottles water and a fridge, but lacking natural light due to small windows.

I arrived in Madrid at 9:30 PM and had an early morning flight at 7. Because time was 'key' I choose to stay here. I was VERY IMPRESSED! Super easy to walk to on the bottom floor of Terminal 4. Very friendly and helpful staff who gave e me several suggestions for restaurants. The room has a very comfortable queen bed, TV, and very modern bathroom with any excellent shower. Everything is quite clean. There also was an expresso/coffee machine and had 2 cups to wake up in the morning. Yes - the fee was approx.$150 U.S., and I could have gotten a hotel 10 minutes away by train (that you get in T4) for perhaps U.S. $75, but - seriously - time was precious AND this hotel is Very Good value!

The hotel location is wonderfully situated so it is easily to grab a taxi or walk to everywhere. Even though we are in the middle of Gran Via, nothing could be heard the whole day if we close the windows. I don’t even realised it was raining one night. Staff there greets you with a smile but there should be more staff in the breakfast area. We have to pour coffee on our own as all the staff are at the kitchen preparing eggs for us. No big deal though. The housekeeping does their job very well. Always have fresh sheets and towels every day even though one of the days, we have left the hotel pretty late after 1pm. Water pressure in the shower was powerful. They even provide perfume incase you forgot about yours. There is a carrefour express downstairs so you can grab snacks or drinks anytime and a pharmacy right opposite that opens till midnight. Free jelly candies are available on the first floor and fruits infused water are available on the 7th floor which is the check in floor.

Always pleasant, i've stayed at a few Rezidor Hotels, Park Plaza Westminster in London, Radisson Blu Gautrain Hotel in Johannesburg, South Africa also at The Radisson Blu Edwardian Berkshire Hotel, London, Park Inn by Radisson Cape Town Foreshore in South Africa and now recently in Madrid and I must say all the hotels in the group i have stayed at are out of this world.

The hotel is next to Atocha Metro and within 10 minutes's walking distance from the Atocha train station, where you can find connections to different cities of Spain. It is also close to several major museums in Madrid. Hotel room is small, but nicely decorated. the staff are fluent in English and helpful. however, the hotel charges clients for internet access.

The staff were helpful and friendly. The whole hotel was very clean. The beds were extremely comfortable and the location is perfect for exploring the centre of Madrid. It was more expensive than I usually pay for staying there but it really was worth the extra money.

I was staying at TRYP Madrid Cibeles Hotel just for one night in order to recover from traveling for 12 hours before getting settled in to Madrid. The Hotel was perfect for my intentions - a comfortable, quiet room in the middle of the city offered me the needed rest. The staff was very friendly and helpful and didn't mind me leaving my luggage there until the afternoon when my friends came to pick me up. I would recommend TRYP Madrid Cibeles Hotel for anyone who seeks comfortableness in their stay.

The hotel is perfect for transit passengers, like us. The staff on duty at the hotel, when we arrived at the airport in Madrid was very responsive and helpful. The only complaint we have wrt this stay is that I mistakenly first booked for the 28th of July and then realised that we would be on our flight from Santiago, Chile, Agoda did not emphatize with my me and so I had to make another booking for the 29 th of July, i.e. I had to pay twice for the accommodation.

This is our all time favorite hotel in Madrid. The location is outstanding, so too the service of the staff in Anthony, Ana and David whose energy, enthusiasm and passion for customer service will ensure you love every moment. Thank you for room 413, with corner balconies over two streets we were delighted with the views. We will be back😀

We stayed at the Vincci Capitol as we had one day/night in Madrid in transit before heading to London. Was very relieved to find that the hotel was in an easily accessible location near the centre of Madrid. At first glance, you could almost miss the entrance because it was part of a theatre building and the hotel entrance is covered by darkened glass. We were delighted to find that the rooms were of a very good quality, a tad on the futuristic modern side, with glass covered wardrobes and flat screen TV. Sleep quality was excellent because we could hardly hear the sounds on the busy streets below from the 5th floor, and the blinds effectively cut out all the outside light. I'd definitely come back to stay at the Vincci Capitol again when we have more time in Madrid in the future...

It is value for money if you could secure promotion room rate at last minutes. It is easily accessible by Metro from airport, and is convenient to the city centre by public transport - the bus stop is right next to the hotel. It is a real 4-star rating hotel. The food in the hotel restaurant is excellent at areasobable price.

The hotel was in a great location and 10 minutes walk a way from the city centre. The room was a good size and very clean. The restuartant also nice and provide reasonable value for money. There is also a few shops and restaurants 2 minutes away from the hotel which is very convienant if you dont want to venture out in to the city. All in all a good hotel and I would stay there again when in Madrid.

In 3 weeks traveling through Spain this was my favorite Hotel. The staff were friendly and informative, fast service and a real sense of generosity about this property. Very quiet rooms even though we were on the main agran Via Road. Free coffee while waiting for check in substantial breakfast served until 2 pm. I would have loved if it had a small gym and pool however there are other options within Madrid close by if you need these facilities.

this was a great choice for someone flying out the next day to another spain destination, so good location to get into the city for the day and get to the airport the next day. the room was lovely and particularly the bathroom is very nice - big and with a bath. the bed was a bit hard because i prefer a softer matress, but the room was quiet and i got a good rest. the hotel lobby is very nice, quite big and you can go down and have a drink and something to eat while waiting for the plane the next day, whilst hooking yourself up to the free wifi. that was the main advantage for me, after check out i just used the lounge for a couple of hours before getting to the airport. you can take a bus into town for just 1 euro 50 and it takes about 35-40 mins. the metro station is too far to walk i think. the taxi home from town was just 15 euro. taxi to airport was roughly the same. the bar in the lobby at night was fine, with a nice guy giving me my sparkling wine, but the morning service was terrible, with a girl who couldn't speak english properly and i didn't like her attitude. be careful when ordering an iced coffee - you get the coffee and glass of ice separate! it was a bit of a shock and she was not friendly! service at reception was very nice and most of them spoke english and they printed out my next hotel voucher. i was very happy with the girls at reception.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Catalonia. With so many hotels in Madrid it was hard to choose. But the biggest selling points for us were the central location and the reasonable price. We were very pleased and would certainly stay there again. It is just a two minute walk to the Gran Via Metro stop, and only a few minutes to Sol, and a few of the other stops as well. We bought a ten pass Metro ticket but only ended up using half of our trips because everything ended up being in walking distance. The hotel staff were friendly and we had no complaints about the room.

Great location, clean, friendly staff, lovely building, comfortable and quiet rooms, substantial breakfast selections, next door to underground parking and an absolutely wonderful Italian restaurant which is highly recommended. Our “go to” hotel in Madrid.

I have stayed in a few hotels in Madrid, but this is by far the best. Do not waste your time looking elsewhere. Preciados is located in the center of the city on a relatively quiet pedestrian road so that there is not much noise at night, but you are still only a stone's throw away from all the action.

I have been trying to find the ideal hotel in Madrid for some time. This is not it. While the discounted rate from Agoda for this hotel was attractive, I am afraid that the combination of tiled corridors, wooden floors and inadequate soundproofing just did not allow a good night's sleep, even though there was no outside noise and the room itself was adequate.

this stylish hotel has a days gone by architecture which fits perfectly in the neigghbourhood it is located in. we only needed one night overstay in madrid and choose this one as it is just around the corner of gran via. it allowed us to walk around a see some of central madrid. also the gran plaza is in walking distance and some major musea. buffet breakfast is sufficient. staff is very profesional and kind. ckecking out was at 12 but as we had out connection later on it was no problem to check out one hour later

We stayed here for 3 nights with our two sons, was a triple special birthday celebration... Staff were very friendly and helpful and nothing was any trouble for them..especially Macarena and all staff at reception. (this is the only name I can remember). We stayed on a room only basis, the rooms and bathrooms were modern and kept very clean.. Hairdryer was good,I normally take my own but decided against it and I'm glad I did, it would have been extra weight for nothing. Only thing I was disappointed in was the rooftop pool not being open, its policy in Madrid apparently that all pools are closed around middle of September, on this occasion it closed on 18/9/16. I had booked this hotel for the pool and probably would have booked something else had I known, don't get me wrong it did not spoil our break in any way...Would certainly recommend and would go again. Thanks to everyone who made our stay so memorable 👍🏻☀️🍸🍻

we were on our 16 days trip to all over spain and spent our last 3 nights at this hotel. we booked a standard room but somehow was given a suite which is a nice surprise. the room was superclean and the room service was great. there is a local train just across the street. parking is available on site for free. there is also a supermarket just few meters from the hotel. we have been to many countries and many hotels before. so far, this is the best hotel we have ever been to. it was a nice way to end our spanish road trip.
