Traveling to Taiwan? Find Nantou hotels

the hotel is located at the best location in Riyue tan with breath taking view. The hotel is decorated with good taste and staff is friendly. One area that needs improvement is the swimming pool area in 12F, we visited the pool on Apr 16, we found the dead frog and leafs floating in the hot pool, we mentioned to the staff, he ignored us and continued to play his cell phone. In my view, the swimming pool is one of selling point of the hotel, this area should be well maintained, at least the staff should clean it before opening to the public.

Spacious room and comfortable beds. Clean and high-tech with remote control over lighting and equipment (e.g. TV). Separate toilet, shower area and pool. The room looks exactly the same as the pictures in the website. Breakfast spread was great and tasty. Shuttle bus service is free and run hourly to/ from Shui-she visitor centre. This is the best hotels I have stayed so far in Taiwan. Although the price is rather steep, it is value for money for similar class of hotel with great view and convenience around Sun Moon Lake. Would definitely stay here again if I visit Sun Moon Lake.

What a delightful hotel with a beautiful lake view and convenient location!  We have been visiting many National Parks both in the United States and Taiwan.  Sun Moon Lake National Park and Hotel del Lago definitely has been the best experience we’ve had so far.  Hotel Del Lago’s location provides unparalleled views.  You can sit at the balcony of the hotel room and enjoy a wonderful view of the lake.   Even though the facilities are not equivalent to a five-star hotel, the location, the views, and the staff were outstanding.  Jerry, the Executive Secretary, is super friendly, professional, and very accommodating to our needs.  He is willing to go the extra mile to give us a lots of tips regarding nearby tours, even the tours for our next destinations.  The hotel is also situated nearby downtown Sun Moon Lake which have many dining places you can choose from.   It only takes three minutes to walk from the bus stop to the hotel.  Furthermore, there is a biking trail just a few steps awa

This was a multi-generational trip for us- kids 2.5 and 6 years old, along with uncle and grandma. Fantastic breakfast buffet, clean and good-sized rooms. I was worried the room would be either damp due to the hot spring factor, but it wasn’t the case. Fuli Hotel is a short walk from the bus station where Nantou bus (from High Speed Rail Station in Taichung) stops off, and another short distance to the ferry docks to go to Ita Shao. If you are looking for dinner options, there is a really good restaurant right across from the hotel called Sun Moon Restaurant that has local cuisine. Overall, fantastic option for families.

We are American ex-pats living in Taipei with two young boys. Beautiful and well-maintained facility in the mountains near Sun Moon Lake and "next door" to the Aboriginal Cultural Village (a culturally-themed amusement park with surprisingly good rides). Their primary customer base is Taiwanese and Chinese tourists, but they wasted no time finding an English-speaking employee to help us. (It's generally tough in Central Taiwan to hire bi-linguals.) The room was spacious and the climate control worked. Great water pressure and temperature in the bathroom. Generous with the bottled water. The breakfast was a strong okay, but that's because I'm quite used to Western food. If you like Taiwanese fare, you'll be quite happy - both meat-based and vegetarian options. We walked away satiated. This is our third time staying at this hotel. Not likely our last, unless we move away.

The hotel is slightly worn along the edges but the cleanliness is good, just that its definitely not new. The view is absolutely gorgeous and the price of the room does really justify it. We stayed in a Japanese styled room with lake view. The room ambience and the lake view matched perfectly, making us feel like we were in Japan. The staff tried their very best to be accomodating and offered great service but the hotel was very full, thus we had to line up for some time for the buffet dinner which was a little odd considering the extravagant price that we paid for. Nevertheless the hotel did their best, and they even had an excellent band performance.

Nantou bus-stop is just outside the hotel, at the 7-eleven store. Friendly staffs who explained patiently on the free shuttle services they provide, helped us to book the Hehuan shan sunrise tour. Hehuan shan tour waiting point is also at the Nantou bus-stop. They even bothered to lend us a local cellphone when we said we have no local mobile line. Limited but very delicious local brekky. The room is nice and comfy which surprisingly comes with a heater, cable TV. No elevator in the hotel, however not a problem for us young folks, we were given the highest floor on the 3rd.

If you’re planning to stay in SML, Ita Thao is the best location to stay because it’s the most “touristy” place I would say. It’s really close to the Formosan Aboriginal village which I loved. This hotel is the best hotel to stay in for the price paid. It has a beautiful lake view which is so close to the pier hence you get to take in all the view and whatever is happening downstairs. Unlike many hotels that we walked past which seemed to be so far from everything that it kinda winds and dies down towards the evening cuz you don’t know what’s going on. So near to food. Breakfast had a good spread and was delicious but the best part of it that it’s free :’). The hotel staff were very nice and accommodating, although my Friend and I are mandarin speaking so I can’t say for non mandarin speaking guests. But they are so nice that it’s nothing Google translate can’t help. A lot of the attractions in SML can be easily obtained/inquired at front desk. The room is comfy and spacious enough though not exactly luxurious. Overall, loved my stay there ❤️

Very closed to Suishe visitor center (Nantou bus drop off area). 3 mins walk. Some staff doesn't speak English. Recommended a lake view room "Million dollars view with affordable price" Port for sun moon lake sailing is just in front of the hotel. Youu can drop your things and start the tour right away. Few restaurants in this area. Defenitely coming back

Excellent location in Nantou! The room was luxurious and the staff very accommodating and courteous. They helped me with all my needs with the room and even helped me order breakfast for delivery when I woke up late from the included breakfast. :) Will definitely be booking again. Amazing hotel service in Taiwan.

It was a very pleasant stay in Taiwan. I love Taiwan, the food and the people. Hu Yue offers one of the best view I have experienced in life. Many details in the hotel are very thoughtful, like the Panasonic toilet seat, glass wall from the balcony so that you can even see the view on the bed and the rose bath powder.... My friend forgot his backpack (with passports inside) in a nearby restaurant and the restaurant owner actually returned his bag back to the hotel because he has a hotel booking sheet inside. It was like a miracle. I love the hotel and I wish I could get a holiday and come back in Christmas.

This hotel is located on the main road to Shitou. Just 10 minutes drive to major scenery spot. The hotel staff is very nice to explain to us the travel plan. The hotel also offer guided scenery tour and star observation for FREE! There is a wooden bathtub on the balcony. You can enjoy jacuzzi with star over the head.

Stayed in this minsu for 1 night. The minsu was situated facing the huge mountain range. View was spectacular and there was a viewing platform where you could sit and have tea. The owners were an elder couple, very friendly and their service was excellent. The rooms was divided into front block and back block. My room was named the Cancer Constellation sign. Even though room was on level 2, there was also unblocked view from the balcony. The bed was comfortable, big and clean. Overall, it was a great stay. Some tips: The minsu can arrange pick up from Taichung HSR if you contact them in advance (about NT$400 one way) If you are taking Nantou bus, alight at Cingjing Guo Min Hotel bus stop and walk up the slope about 5 mins once you see a small market selling fruits and food, turn left and walk into the path, about 5-10mins walk you will see the minsu. Check in is after 3pm and check out is 10am Front block such as Cancer room has no in room wifi, but you can borrow an extender to connect to wifi by paying a refundable deposit NT$1000. At 2pm, minsu will provide free transport to Green Green Grassland (about 5 mins drive) There are option tours that can be booked such as Hehuanshan Sunrise tour NT$400, Lushan hotspring tour NT$800(public onsen) NT$1100(private onsen), etc Join the star gazing program at 9pm, it is amazing to see many stars at night on a clear day. (Staff will announce around 8.35pm) At the minsu, you can view sunset around 6pm. There is also steamboat dinner available at NT$280.

Its decently pretty althought its hidden at the back lane of right beside the sun moon lake river where people cycle not easy to realise the villa but the distance away fro the shuei she pier and nantou bus stop back to taichung is ratherly near. Toilet is pretty! Bed is comfy, room is huge. I think its rather worthy of the price! Staff is so kind esp the day time lady(forgotten to get hername) she have help us so much to navigate back, help us w phone calls when we need help. We are appreciative! Breakf is simple but yummy! It is a elegant and romantic lakeside hotel,very good for relaxing and honey moon. I love this place very much, great location, very near to Nantou bus station, nice lake view from hotel balcony as well. The Sun Moon Lake view very beutiful and amazing. We really enjoy the natural enviroment and our stay. Will definitely come back again and stay at the same hotel!

We arrived by bus and asked for a pick-up at the train station. Te reception staff was very quick by responding to our mail and organised everything. We had a room in building A, just above the reception. As the hotel was almost fully booked, there was some noise from he outside and the resturant we could hear. From the room although we had a great view, especially in the morning. It is really orth to wake up early. We had one main contact person from the restaurant, which was probably then one who could speak the best english. She was very lovely and helpful. She organized the shuttle for the cingjing farm and wrote a day plan in english for us, just in case we would get lost or did not know what to do. In the evening we ate at the restaurant at ming ging farm, which provides set menu in a more western style. It was ok to eat there, as we did not have our own car. The price from 380 NT up was ok. If there are many hotel guests they offer a buffet which was really good.

The hotel is excellent although a bit expensive but you are paying for the location. The room was awesome and it comes with unlimited portable water and the characters were just too cute. The only complaint could be that the rooms weren’t connected to the main lobby which means dragging your luggage through the cold. The food starts closing quite early after dark so be warned and so do the shops. But that’s when the village starts their small games stalls. The hotel comes with some itinerary for children and there’s a number hunt and bingo with prizes for guests only but requires registration at 3pm. Xitou nature education area was our main attraction and being located right next to it means we get to rest our tired feet soon after! There’s a family mart 24/7 too

My husband , my 11 year old daughter and I took the nantou bus from Puli and arrived at Cingjing on a cold and freezing afternoon as it was raining heavily too. The temperature was at 14 celsius. Luckily, the guesthouse was just a 6 minutes walk from the bus stop which was opposite a fruit stall by the side of the road.We had earlier got the exact direction from the staff at the guesthouse. we fell in love with the place the moment we saw it as it was elevated and provided us with a magnificent view of the mountains and valleys. It is actually next to Qingjing Veterans farm.The guesthouse comprises of many different rooms sizes to suit your family requirements and each is self contained with boiling and cool water dispenser in each room. As it was cold, we really welcomed the electric mattress which can be heated up to your desired temperature.The whole guesthouse is well maintained and gives a very cosy feeling as they are basically log cabins.The staff at the cafe were warm as even gave my husband a local remedy to settle his queasy stomach.It is 10 minutes walk from the Swiss gardens but rather inconvenient if you want to go to the Green Green Grass. to get there you would need to get the bus schedule to get there or you can get the staff to help book a cab.the bus fare is TW12 per person and TW 6 per child. Cingjing is a lovely place and Energy Home Guest House is one of the main reason why we will always have lovely memories of Cingjing.

The hotel is a convenient boat ride from the Sun Moon Lake bus station. It is walking distance to the cable car, and right off the boat dock. The room and bedding is rather luxurious, with an excellent dinner and breakfast. We booked a lake view room and it has a jacuzzi, which is very nice after a long day hike around Sun Moon Lake. The service is excellent, and the staff are very nice and helpful. Although it is across the lake from the main bus station, it is a very convenient and nice boat ride from the Sun Moon lake bus drop off in the Nantou Information center.

This hostel was the best out of all 3 other accommodations I stayed at in Taiwan. The hostel is brand new and all the furnishings are the highest class. The room was super clean, not even a single dust and was beautifully decorated. I can tell the host put in a lot of effort in making the place hospitable and enjoyable for her guests. We had a partial view of the lake and the room was very quiet in a serene setting. Transportation to and from the hostel was convenient and it was near all the tourist spots. Breakfast was provided in the morning and it was very delicious with a great variety of cuisine. The host was very responsive and friendly. I will highly recommend this accommodation to anyone who wants to book it. You will not regret it! The service and room plus hotel interior is better than a five star hotel with only a fraction of the cost.

The hotel may be the best choice in the area; however, you can tell it's aged. Location wise, it takes only couple minutes to Si-Tou which is really convenient for visitors. 4 of us stayed in a family room with reasonable size. The in-hotel restaurant serves only basic foods which doesn't worthy to pay for it. Kids playground is out of dates and not well maintained. Services may be the best strength of this hotel as many staffs are very enthusiastic to somewhat off-set our disappointments. Overall speaking, I guess it was a nice hotel in old days but it's pity it doesn't be well maintained at present days.

This was the most luxurious hotel we booked for our round trip of Taiwan, so our standards weren’t too high. But the hotel looks great, a little dated perhaps, but right at the lake. Be sure to get a room with lake view, you get a balcony overlooking the lake. Free bikes is a plus, they were good enough to take us round the lake. Perhaps the only drawback is the pool/facilities, which are located in a sort of mezzanine of the restaurant, which is curious. Breakfast is extensive, mainly Asian, but also some continental options.

I-Think Resort is more than what the photos revealed. Although it is located pretty deep inside the tiny and winding roads, you will arrive at an amazing place you would not regret staying. The scenery around the resort is breathtaking except we were pretty unlucky not to be able to see the best it could offer due to bad weather. The staff is very helpful and friendly. The owner even personally served us during breakfast and was so passionate about the food that he served. My family and I enjoyed the spread and agreed that it was the best breakfast we had throughout our 8 days stay in Taiwan. We hope to visit again under better weather and clearer skies!

This is one of the best stay i have in taiwan. Although its not at the highest point in Cingjing as compared to some other minsu, Old England is an attraction by itself and the staffs here are extremely friendly and polite. The suite came stock up with various beers, drinks, fruits as well as a 2015 red wine. Highly recommended to stay at least once here in order to explore the interior and enjoy the services provided by the staff.

Ida shao is the best place to stay at Sun Moon Lake. This hotel is located right in the middle of the street market. Breakfast is okay, not that great.

The location of Yunwu is quite good. You can take Nantou Bus and get off at Cingjing Guoxiao. Yunwu is just 5 minutes away from that bus stop. There is also a recreational center near Yunwu where you can find a 7-11 shop. My kids were very excited when we moved in a nicely-decorated Deluxe Family unit. They liked to climb upstairs to the loft. There was also a balcony with great mountain views. The owners were very friendly. They provided free breakfast and dinner during weekdays. The foods were very delicious and special. The friendly owner even offered to drive us to Cingjing Farm.

Probably the best hotel you can find in the entire Taiwan island! Gorgeous location with beautiful architecture. Everything you can ask for if you are into peaceful and modern ambient. If you are a couple and are looking for something romantic, this is a must in Taiwan!

We only stayed one night, but it was actually a really nice hotel. We chose a room with a lake view, which was seriously breathtaking. The patio made for the nicest mornings and evenings, relaxing with a good book while taking in the landscape. The rooms were super clean, fresh looking, though maybe not "new" based off a few signs of wear and tear, not only in the room but in the hotel as a whole. I only have two complaints: 1) we stayed on a Saturday night, and this young girl and her father were playing music on the pier below, which while it was super entertaining and enjoyable from 6-7 pm, it became a little unbearable and headache inducing from 7-9 pm when it finally ended. It's just so close to the hotel rooms, the music seems to be playing inside your own room. I literally had a headache after the third hour of non-stop playing. 2) the breakfast. The breakfast area was ok, you're only gonna have a nice table with a view if you get there early and line up. But the breakfast itself was just "meh". I'd suggest adding some more western options. We basically had cereal. I've lived in Taiwan for 10 months now, and I've gotten used to a lot. But waking up and eating french fries and noodles is something that I will never get used to. Some more sweet options would be nice. The hotel is not new or extravagant, but it's cozy and it has a great view of the lake. Service was also good. They held our luggage before check-in and after check-out. And they spoke a fair amount of English, and humored our mediocre Chinese. All in all, I'd give this an overall 4/5 stars!

This is actually homestay, not hotel, but the standard can beat 3 star hotel standard, even more. Is newly operated from Sep 2018, so everything look very new. Good location, lot of food and souvenir shop within walking distance. Breakfast is freshly cook to you when you attend to cafe, not those hotel buffet style. The taste is highly recommended! If you come to Sun Moon Lake, this is a great choice of stay.

The staffs were very accomodating and generous they gave us 4 free tickets and discount coupons to Cronas the newly open chocolate factory in Taiwan. That ticket cost 200NTD per person. The view was so beautiful. We can see the sea of clouds from our room. The free breakfast so yummmy!!! All in all it was a great staycation in their hotel.
