PROs Great location.. short walk to shows, restaurants and Rockfeller Center. Concierge and Bellhops awesome!! Very attentive and accommodating. Provided nice amenities to celebrate my sister's birthday which made her feel special. Rooms larger than most in New York CONs Drinks on site pricey and I have had much better for less in similar level hotels Rooftop bar opens at 4 ... would have been nice if open earlier on weekends Carpets in halls need updating. They are worn and overstretched which can be a tripping hazard. Had Superior 2Queen room ...couch pillows had food stains on them. For 4 person room bathroom vanity small. This is large contrast to huge.vanity in the king which I stayed in 2 years ago. Light switches on entry to room effects lights in the bathroom which is located on the whole other side of room which causes people inadvertently turn off bathroom lights. This is an annoyance.

Great experience, for the second time at the Helmsley Park Lane.We arrived late at night and had an upgrade to the executive suite with the Central Park´s viet, which makes all the difference while in New York. The suite had very confortable beds and was very clean. The room service is very fast and good.Next time, we´ll stay again at the Helmsley Park Lane, now, our hotel in New York.

William Vale did not come close to meeting the expectations, or for that matter the requirements of a 5 star hotel rating. On the positive side, the rooms are nice, bright, clean, and reasonably sized for New York. The location is w/in walking (10 mins) to 2 subway lines, one of which (L) gets into Manhattan in 1 stop, union Sq. in 3. There’s plenty of good food around; swimming pool, valet service, etc. The main problem with the hotel is the service. I arrived at 10:00 AM, so understandably the room was not available yet. It wasn’t available at 12:00 or 14:00. Yes, the check in time is 15:00, but it is reasonable to expect more from a 5 star hotel, which was not fully booked at the time. I was told that after housekeeping finishes cleaning the room, it needs to be “inspected”, presumably to ensure that it is ready for the next guest. Again, the normally expected room amenities of a 5 star hotel were not met by WV; no bathrobes, no slippers, no toothbrushes, etc.…Hotel’s primary function is to provide a comfortable room, and room in a 5 star hotel should have most simple things like robe & slippers. They were of course brought to me within an hour of calling, but the point is; they should be available w/out asking for them. One of the items that were available in the room was a shower cap, which I left wet on the counter (forgot to throw it away). It was waiting for me there the next day – housekeeping did not throw it away either, nor did they replace it. There are positives in this hotel, but I’m not commenting on them more because these petty and miserly measures of the hotel totally overshadowed the good points. The hotel has great potential and revisiting customer service policies and room amenities is vital if the hotel wants to live up to the 5 star claims.

Pro Location is not too far from places of interest. Cons Upon our arrival on the 31st of Aug, we were told that they were overbooked and had to downgrade us to a smaller room on the first night with 150USD credit to dine in the hotel. WHAT DOES OVERBOOKED EVEN MEAN? We booked via Agoda on the 13th of July and paid in full. The fine print in the Agoda receipt clearly states that rooms are guaranteed upon arrival. Clearly this hotel does that respect and honor whatever that has been paid for. Poor customer service! The next day we had to ask the reception when we could move into the room we supposedly paid for but instead of the hotel having the courtesy to notify us after the inconvenience! Front desk staffs were not the nicest either! Hairdryer was broken in our room on the first night and it took the hotel 15 mins to get us a working one. Furnishings like carpets and sofa seems old and dated, some furniture were even tattered. My shower was constantly flooded because the pressure was so strong and the water could not flow fast enough. For the price they are charging, I would've expected more.

We came to New York for the weekend to see some broadway shows. We found the location to be convenient for shopping and the shows. The staff were really excellent, friendly not phony people. The room was as expected, spacious, clean and well appointed. The Park Hyatt met or exceeded our expectations.

The rooms are lovely but dark and the layout of our suite was a little disconcerting as the wc was away from the shower and sink. Something different. Love the vibe though and would stay again. They had some problems with finding our reservation and tried very hard to make up for it later. 5* for service and keeping their guests happy. I loved the location and found it very central for getting around NYC. Far enough from the maddening crowd at Times Square.

I have been blessed to visit several cities around the world but NY is special and unique to me. I have the opportunity to visit at least 3 times a year and as long as we can we will stay at The Mark! What makes this a very special "boutique hotel" is definitely its staff. Since you arrive you feel special. The willingness of all to satisfy their guests is incredible. Everyone gives the extra mile. One night my husband left his gloves in the courtesy car. I called the hotel as soon as he noticed and when we got back to the hotel they had left them in our room. Love the delicious chocolate macaroons left with turn down service. The flower cart in spring, the hot dog and ice cream cart in summer...The only thing that sadness me in The Mark is saying good bye.

The Trump SoHo is simply first class, in a league of its own really. From the moment you arrive till the moment you leave, you feel taken care of by an attentive team for whom no request is too much. And all without giving you that feeling that you are intruding at a fancy party. You are always made to feel welcome and more like a resident, than simply a paying customer. This is true luxury. We expected to be met with a kind of boutique hotel snobbishness, but that couldn't be further from the truth. It also has some of the best views the city has to offer with no other high-rises blocking the views either down to the Wall Street area or up to midtown. Highly recommended and we'll always be staying here when in New York.

Our 3 night stay was wonderful. All NY hotel rooms are small but this hotel is a new remodel with a cool vibe. There is a mandatory $30PP charge for breakfast, tea, snacks, Wifi and drinks, well worth the charge, IMO. Great staff, too.

Lovely time spent in New York. This hotel is in a very good location with easy access to Times Square. The staff were polite and absolutely lovely and made every effort to ensure we were well taken care of. Would definitely return and highly recommend.

We took a quick trip to NY from NW CT and stayed at the Wagner Hotel. The service was excellent and the room was beautiful! My children loved our suite. It was their first time in a luxury hotel, and they loved the down blanket, the deep tub, the shower & the toiletries. When we got to our room we found two pairs of slippers and two robes. We called down for 2 extra so that each of us would have our own robe and slippers. They sent them right up and left them without us ever knowing they had even entered the room. The suite was spacious and had a 1.5 bath, a convertible sofa with a very comfortable mattress, a desk, 2 TVs & 2 closets. We opted for self park a block up the street for $55. Only one tiny thing was missing, and I mostly would have like it for my 17&6 year old daughters: We spent the day out and only would have liked an offer of a car when we left and help with bags and a greeting when we returned in our cab. Some snacks in-room snacks would have been nice too.

We stayed at the 5 star Refinery Hotel for 5 nights in May 2014., we loved Everything!!! Staff most attentive, especially Door and Reception staff. Roof Top bar has Empire State Building Views, Retractabel Glass roof, makes for a Fabulous retreat! Lize Jazz most nights, but relaxing and the most peaceful stay, centrally located in New York Cit just off Byant Park. WE WILL GO BACK!!!!!

There is a lot of hyperbole in the description of this hotel on the property's website. Admittedly, the location is excellent - very near almost anything a visitor to NYC wants to see and very convenient to public transportation. The staff was friendly and the hotel was very clean. We reserved two rooms- one for my husband and I and another for our son and his girlfriend - she arrived the following day. We mentioned this late arrival to the staff at reception several times and we were assured that she would have no problem getting into her room, even if we weren't at the hotel when she arrived. But, that was not the case. Fortunately, the staff called us and after much discussion, she was given a key and allowed up to her room. Regarding our room -it was slightly bigger than one on a cruise ship but not as conveniently laid out. The closet is very small with barely any room for anything longer than a shirt. The two robes and an ironing board take up most of the longer space. Of course, the robes could be hung in the bathroom, but then there is precious little space there. The bed was very comfortable, but it consumes most of the room. A small desk/chair, and another small chair occupy the non-bed space in the room; you can practically reach out from the bed and touch the desk. There is absolutely no place to store luggage in the room or closet. I defy anyone to do anything other than set their luggage on the desk and cram one bag in the little space left in the closet. We had only carry-ons; I'm not sure where we would have put full size suitcases. The view was listed as a courtyard view. This is a joke. We were on the 10th floor and looked out at a grungy adjacent corner of the building - into the window of another room. Fortunately, the window blinds could be lowered and needed to be in the closed position whenever we were in the room. The bathroom presented the most challenges. The counter had very little room to set anything and there was virtu

The staff are especially friendly and helpful. They make you feel welcome. The hotel is perfectly located for the best shopping and food. Would be nice if the rooms had a kettle or coffee machine as an added touch.

I stayed at the Eventi Kimpton Hotel in New York for two nights and wish it could have been more. What a fantastic place to stay! I enjoyed the spa and the room (nice furniture and a good view) and will definitely come back

This is my third time staying at Conrad New York. Staffs are extremely friendly and helpful, particularly the Bellboy. They smiled and greeted all the guests who entered the hotel. I was there 6 months ago with my family and this time, I was there for business purpose. The Bellboy remembered me well and asked me how was my family doing. I was very impressed. The cleaning ladies and Front Desk are all very helpful and attentive, too. I went to the hotel the night before I checked in and requested for a twin room because a friend from Boston would come visit me with her baby. The lady at the Front Desk kindly sent the request for me. The next day when I checked in in the afternoon, another lady at the Front Desk said to me,’ I do not know how you get this room but we don't normally offer it to customer who did not book it in advance'. I was a bit shocked when I heard that as her manner was rather unfriendly. I explained to her if someone in needs has already booked the room in advance, they can have it. She shrugged. In general, I had a wonderful experience staying at Conrad New York. It is still my first choice of hotel in New York.

this hotel is located in a super chic and happening area of new york, where you can walk to some of the best restaurants and enjoy nightlife, clubs and music just blocks away. the concierge can book you at the exclusive rose bar or get you hard to find reservations. the rooms have dark red velvet curtains, and are quiet and good for sleeping. on weekends, there's a younger party scene here, but high end. this is very fun, and exciting hotel idea for a nightlife trip to new york.

We stayed at The Surrey Hotel last summer for a week with our daughter, her husband and our 3 little granddaughters. It was wonderful last year so we chose to stay here again and were not disappointed. This time we tried the Cafe Boulud in the hotel for dinner; it was excellent and the fois gras was to die for. The hotel is within walking distance to many museums and the very best shopping. We would highly recommend this hotel.

very nice hotel. my first impression when i walked into the lobby was wow, very nice. the room was spacious compared to other new york city hotels i've stayed at. i love the location, the hotel is within walking distance of time square. the staff was very friendly and i will definitely stay here again. i would also recommend this hotel to my friends.

Everything was perfect! We stayed in Park Executive one bedroom suite. The view was amazing! The space is huge (bedroom, dining/living room, kitchen and 2 bathrooms). It’s very quiet in the hotel. There is a good , restaurant in the hotel (Jean Gorge - 2* Michelin). The location is good if you want to walk in the park, visit the museums and have a shopping in 5th avenue.

Very good service and check in information. The room was very well presented and furnished, but a little small and had no view at all, which was a shame when we were right on Times Square. There was some confusion regarding breakfast as it was included on our Agoda booking but this hadn't been passed onto the hotel. We were eventually given coffee, juice and some pastries each morning, but this was disappointing as I had not expected only pastries for breakfast when we book and we wanted to start the day with a hot breakfast (which was the same price on the menu) but the hotel would not change the food selection available. For the money, I found the hotel nice but expensive and unfortunately the breakfast was not worth the additional cost.

This building has been around for decades and it shows in some of the details such as the old elevator, the shallow bathtub, outdated furniture and a rather stodgy ambiance. Nevertheless, it's location is the best and their service is just great. If you're not looking for a state of the art, dernier cri hotel, this hotel is just fine.

If you want a New York high-end hotel near Central Park that is quiet, exclusive and has great beds. This is it. Some rooms low floors on Park avenue can be noisy if you want to sleep late. I like the back facing rooms with no view, because they are dark and super comfortable and renovated. The beds are great.

Me and my friend came from Paris to spend 4 days in NYC just to walk around and shop so first we chose Carlyle for its great location. But after the first night we simply fell in love with this hotel. The room was excellent, service was perfect, staff very helpful and friendly. Great restaurant! The only things that were missing were the view and free internet but that was very well compensated by the rest. Can't wait to come back and try their new Spa!

This is a luxory hotel, I was there attending a conference. Not the best match, luxury is fine, by all means, but this model does not quite meet the European efficiency standards with regards to conducting business meetings and conferences. If you are running between meetings at different floors, it is very unconvenient to wait 5-8 minutes because not all elevator are in operation becasue there is only one elevator-man on duty, and they can, God forbid, not let guests press the elevator buttons themselves.. 2013 you said? Staff is extremely friendly and service minded however.

There are only a handful of 5-Star hotels in New York that combine the elegance of a beautifully maintained historic building with an uncompromising 5-Star quality experience. This is one of them and that's why it's one of my favorite hotels in New York.

This hotel is really a different class , even among the 5 star hotels. Location is best, close to everything. Wallstreet, Brooklyn Bridge, eatery, 9/11 memorial, WTC, public transport, etc are walkable distance. Great for family luxury holiday or business people alike. Amenities in the room are the best , all functional ! A little pricey, but we need to spoil ourselves sometimes. Room service waiter found out it was my daughter’s birthday, also the front desk lady knew that my daughter doesn’t like chocolate cake (because I was discussing with her about ordering cake), somehow a small (non chocolate) cake was delivered to our room that morning. It was an excellent gesture and attention from the staffs! Whatta five star treatment ! We enjoyed our stay so much. Recommended !
