The hotel is in very good condition: modern equipment, simple but elegant decoration, very clean. We spent 2 nights here and really relaxed. The location is in centre of the city, far from sightseeing places about 7-18km, my family used taxi/grab to travel so no problem with location. Price is rather good compared with resorts in Ninh Binh. We highly recommend this hotel and will come back for sure.

The hotel is very close to everything you want to see in Ninh Binh area. Short walking distance to Tam Coc, Bich Dong Pagoda and Hang Mua. It was only a 10minutes taxi ride to Trang An. The hotel is surrounded by rice fields so you get beautiful scenery anywhere you go. The facilities are excellent. Very comfortable bed, clean and spacious room. Just what you expect from a 5 star hotel. We made very good use of the sauna and jacuzzi. Breakfast buffet was good. What we loved the most about this hotel was the staff. They were all very friendly and genuinely wanting to make our stay as comfortable as possible. We would really like to thank 'Lan' for taking good care of us and all the help we received from her. We'll definitely stay here again next time we're in Ninh Binh.

lovely friendly staff, nothing is too much trouble, they actually care whether you're having a good time. very efficient tour executive who arranged great tours on a private basis for my photographically obsessed husband and it was all fantastic. this is one of the best hotels we have stayed in and came as a lovely surprise and much needed rest after exploring vietnam from bottom to top for 3 weeks. they sent a car and an english speaking member of staff to hanoi airport for us and then drove us from the hotel to meet our boat in halng by at the end of our stay. i had a fantastic massage in the very sophisticated spa and we enjoyed lots of swims in the varies pools around the site. whoever designed this hotel knew how badly needed a restful tasteful holes was needed in this as s the city of ninh binh itself has nothing to offer and is best avoided at all costs. w will certainly be recommending this to our friends and returning ourselves in the future.

The best hotel in Ninh Binh province. Meals are decent. Best view over Trang An and Ninh Binh Province. Very well attended staff.

Two of us settling in to 3 months working in Hanoi, visited Ninh Binh to get away from the hustle bustle of Hanoi. We haven't been to this area before so looked for a place to use as a base to get a first idea of the Ninh Binh area, and the Legend Hotel fitted the bill, booking easily online. We caught the early train from Hanoi to Ninh Binh, bought tickets easily at Hanoi station, had good seats and updated carriage on an S5 train, and was a good trip (except I left my favourite hat on the train in the melee getting off the train at Ninh Binh...). The Legend Hotel at first seems to be in a strange area where there is a lot of building (houses and hotels), and out of the town centre, but it's so easy getting around that the position doesn't really matter. Great views of the mountains, the cemetery and the general area. The private houses being built near the hotel, in what seems to be a new housing part of the town, are amazing - several huge replicas of the Basilica in Rome being built for one family make a surreal statement against the magical background of the stunning karst mountains. The hotel is relatively modern (15 years?), very well appointed, very clean with a good kitchen and dining room and other facilities including a good swimming pool which would have been great on a hot day. Key guests seem to be bus groups, so our first lunch on the day we arrived was unreal - just the two of us in a full silver service dining room for 110 people, with full staff in attendance! Several bus groups arrived while we were there which was interesting and no problem at all for individual travelers. The highlight of the hotel are the staff members - very polite, friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and all speaking English to various degrees. The two we had most to do with were Hanh (? ) who seemed to be the day manager, and Phao Tong who was our guide on our day trip to the nature area and various pagodas and other highlights. This big, new, gleaming hotel sets a new standard for the more humble town of Ninh Binh. You can come here and enjoy 5 star treatment and facilities. Although they are still building parts of the hotel, if you arrange with the concierge to use the pool or sauna, they will have it ready for you within 30 minutes. All the staff are very excited about their new roles in this flash establishment, and they will do their best for you despite some of the small inconveniences due to the building processes that are almost complete. We only had breakfast in the hotel, so we cannot comment accurately on their food and dining.

This Hotel was a very pleasant surprise. It was modern, clean and our room was huge. Although not close to the central business district as a walk it is close enough by taxi or scooter. Unfortunately communication was a problem here in this Ninh Binh hotel. English is very limited but the usual hand signals and some words got us through

Great, scenic property with beautiful water lily ponds and classic VIet Nam decor. My husband and I stayed here for 4 nights on our honeymoon - it was a great base to explore Ninh Binh and the setting is beautiful. The 1 huge lotus ponds provide a lovely setting for breakfast, dinner or afternoon drinks. The bamboo rooms are comfortable and generously sized and the staff made sure we were well look after during our stay - in the restaurant they arranged a celebratory meal given that it was our honeymoon (without us requesting or asking) and made us feel very special indeed. The laundry service was FANTASTIC!! Highly recommended.

The perfect hotel in Ninh Binh! We unfortunately got sick on the way to Ninh Binh from Ha Giang and were quite ill during the early portion of our stay in this beautiful city - what was amazing about Camellia Hotel was that the hotel staff and owners took such great care of my girlfriend and I, we were so happy we chose this hotel. The rooms are some of the cleanest in Vietnam and for the price was totally worth it. They have bicycles they give out to visitors and hats if you are spending time in the sun. The showers were my favorite in Vietnam as well! Everything is close in Ninh Binh so the location was great! Just a stone's throw away from the city center it gave the peace and quiet needed but you could easily get to town for anything! Recommend this place easily to anyone!!

We had a great stay at Thanh Dat Homestay, so much so that we stayed n extra night. Thanh & his family are very friendly & accomodating - nothing but good things to say about them & their hospitality. The location is within walking distance to the main Tam Coc strip with bars, restaurants, shops etc, but is nice and quiet. It is close to a few tourist attractions also. There is the option of hiring a scooter or bicycles for the day. The rooms are spacious, clean and well maintained. We had a fan & an AC which we thought was great and have not yet had the luxury of having both in one room since being in SE Asia for a month. The homestay itself is very cute with the 6 rooms being situated around a courtyard filled with fruit trees. It has a really nice feel to it. We would highly recommend and would definitely stay here again next time we are in Ninh Binh - thank you Thanh & family :)

The best of our experience during our trip to Hanoi and Ninh Binh. We couldn't really describe how conscientious the staffs at Tam Coc Horizon. Ana and Tony really making all the guests feel at home. What we enjoyed the most is foot bath every night before sleep. A herbal mixture in hot water to help you calm down for a deep sleep. Other things worth mentioning; - Stunning view, prime area but tucked nicely from the hustle and bustle of the Tam Coc centre (5 mins cycling to the main Tam Coc boating area) - Free bicycle for everyone - Very clean, tastefully designed and outdoor shower under the rock - Good and generous breakfast (although we would like to have some varieties/choices through out the stay) Recommended to travelers who likes lot of fresh air, budget stay with 5 stars service. We loved it so much that we extended our stay for one more night.

Excellent homestay in Tam Coc! We were supposed to arrive in Ninh Binh at 1700 but our train was delayed so we didn’t arrive until 0030. We had to wake the family up and felt so bad, but they immediately put us in the bungalow and told us to sleep instead of checking in right then. This wasn’t the room we had booked but Lan insisted we keep it and pay the double room price. We rented a motorbike while there and drove all over Ninh Binh. They were so nice to us our whole stay that we wished we were staying longer! Highly recommend!

You go to Ninh Binh city to get out of Ninh Binh city. Thuy Anh hotel is located in the middle of the town, such as it is, but the real advantage is that it's a clean, comfortable, nicely appointed hotel that can set up tours of the surrounding countryside. The staff was exceedingly helpful and thorough, better than in most hotels I've been to in Southeast Asia.

Staff (Van) was extremely helpful and accommodating with our stay. Since we booked an overnight bus (Chez Loan helped us with the booking), the hotel was kind enough to let us use their shower after check-out. They are located close to Tam Coc and provide free bikes to get around. Overall, a very pleasant stay!

My girlfriend and I stayed in the bamboo rooms and it was excellent! the rooms were very clean and looked great with the bamboo siding. the location was great, literally staying at the base of one of the vertical rock mountains and very close to mua caves hike. The staff was very helpful and the food was awesome as well! Highly recommend staying here in ninh binh!

We LOVED our stay in buffalo! Staff is amazingly friendly and fun, bungalow are big and clean (although everything is humid but not their fault). It is located far remote from Ninh Binh center (10min) or Tam Coc (20min) but worth it! You will be in the middle of the rock with a nice lake in the middle! The real Ninh Binh experience! We rented scooter at the hotel (7$ each - fully loaded with gaz which was not always the case during our trip), and the manager explained us all the things to see including the price, itinerary, .... we also ate every night there, they have large choice and it’s very good! Breakfast is good too! Go there you won’t regret it !

Best homestay/hostel I ever stayed at! If you’re looking for a peaceful place, away from busy Ninh Binh this is the place to be! The host family is absolutely lovely and helpful. everything worth visiting is very close. Also the views are just incredible. Enjoy your free breakfast served in the middle of the rice fields before you go discovering the area. Property has scooters as well as bicycles for rent. If I ever come back to Tam Coc, this homestay would definitely be my number one. Totally recommend!!!

The Vancouver is absolutely 1st class all the way. It was just renovated and expanded in the last year (2016) It shows, the rooms are gorgeous. Great bed, linens, bath fixtures etc. Breakfast is made to order and great! A very nice staff and they have a taxi take you to the bus or train station for free upon leaving! (It's only about $1 anyway from the train station to the hotel (23,000 dong) and the staff will help you with any plans in the Ninh Binh area & I believe they also have bikes for rent. This must be the best hotel in Ninh Binh now! I wouldn't stay anywhere else.

This is one of the best places we stayed at during our time in Vietnam. The staff were wonderfull and helpfull, the food was incredible and the scenery was spectacular. We wish we could’ve stayed longer. Ha was an amazing staff member and she went above and beyond to make us feel at home!

it was a great place to stay in Ninh Binh, when you are doing the Tam coc boat ride, you will passed by this place. you can just seat on their restaurant to see the boat passed by and it was a relaxing sight. they also provide bicycle & motorbikes to wander around Ninh binh. im definitely go back to this place and recommend this to everyone.

Second place we’ve stayed at in our Hanoi Tour. Nam was such an excellent host! The location is very very great. Smacked dab in the middle of Ninh Binh. It is very near the restaurants but far enough that you’ll have a peaceful stay without all the buzz. Our room was with balcony and I would recommend this if you’d like to have some more privacy as its away from the other rooms. The only downside is the bathroom is outside and not connected in your room. I would have booked the room without balcony if I had known. But all in all the room was great as it was clean as well as the bathroom. I would definitely recommend for you to stay here! It has everything you need. Nam will brief you and recommend places you can visit and explore in Ninh Binh. They also offer laundry services, you can rent a motorbike from them and have your money changed here. She also booked us our taxi going to the Train Station. Nam also allowed us to use their personal bathroom for us to get cleaned up after our last day Ninh Binh tour before heading to Hanoi. In short, you will be pampered and very much be guided by Nam and her family. Can’t compliment this place enough! Will surely come back!

If you're going to stay in Trang An opposed to the city center of Ninh Binh, this is hands down the place to stay! Scenery/landscape was beautiful. There was a large garden and many tables/lounge chairs right on the river. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Free breakfast was satisfactory. Other food items were a little expensive for Vietnam, but the prices were the best in the area. Rooms were very clean, smelled great, and air conditioned. WiFi could be spotty at times. Showers and bathrooms were separate which I loved. Very clean as well with towels and free soap. Free water bottle each day, however I would have preferred a water refill station for my water bottle. Overall I would recommend to everyone, solo travelers or families, had one of my best stays in Vietnam!

Absolutely loved my stay at Tam coc tropical homestay. The owner was so helpful and welcoming and really went above and beyond. I hired a motorcycle so I could explore easily and visit friends and he even emailed me late one night to check I was ok as I hadn’t returned yet. He stayed up to let me in, I thought that was really sweet! The breakfast was great and it’s walking distance to heaps of restaurants. I would definitely recommend people to stay here if you’re visiting Ninh Binh

The highlight of ninh binh was the surrounding country side and our friendly staff at the queen hotel. Our first day in ninh binh was pouring with rain so tuan and the team taught us Vietnamese for most of the day. I played my first Vietnamese sport, 'shuttle cock' soccer with them and they were nice enough to take us walkig around ninh binh one night. There isn't much to do in ninh binh town itself, but the staff made our trip enjoyable. The rooms were good value for money, plenty of space, clean, with a big bathroom and a good tv. I would definitly reccommended the queen hotel as your base if you are planning on travelling arround the country side of ninh binh.

We loved to stay a few days in the bungalows of Tony‘s family! Everything was so new and clean! The family and tony were so helpful and attentive!! They gave us a map of Ninh Binh and surroundings with some beautiful points to visit. We borrowed a motorbike and bicycles from Tony. Also the breakfast was great and fresh! Thank you Tony for the great time!

Our stay at the Ninh Binh Family Homestay was perfect. The homestay is in a small village just minutes from the Bai Dinh pagoda. The property itself is incredible with dense foliage and trees everywhere as well as gardens and farms. Our room was immaculate upon arrival with plenty of towels and hot water. Bottled water was in the room waiting for us. There is also a refrigerator in the breakfast area where you can purchase cold water, beer, and sodas for a VERY reasonable price. I would definitely recommend taking them up on breakfast and dinner. It's very inexpensive and the dinners in particular are amazing. Home-cooked, delicious, and VERY plentiful. We ate at the homestay every single night. The spring rolls are some of the best I've ever had and the stuffed tofu was delicious. They have scooters available to rent which is great as the village is close to Tam Coc, Trang An, and host of other places. Would definitely stay here again!

I stayed here for 3 nights, spent one night in the mixed dorm and 2 nights in a private room, both where very clean and comfortable. The staff are super, the host kindly took me into ninh binh to buy my boyfriend a gift and cake for his birthday. And one of the giys that worked in the bar taught me how to carve fruit into flowers. They also have a great bar and balcony area with a pool table. All in all would highly reccommend hoa luan. Thanks very much guys 😊

Rooms are spacious and well looked after. We stayed one night as we were on a day trip from Hanoi and preferred not to have to sit through the bus ride again on the same day. During our stay we seemed to be the only guest in the hotel, which is a little weird. Bed was comfortable. Shower leaks all over the floor as do many others in Vietnam. Value for money and I would stay again.

We went to enjoy the beautiful surroundings of Ninh Binh and were forced by the weather to spend a lot of time in the hotel. The staff was great! They were very accommodating and helpful but communication in English was sometimes difficult. We found it to be a very restful and quiet place to stay. We walked the grounds and enjoyed the Buddhist history. If you are looking for nightlife nearby this probably isn't the place for you.

Pretty cool location with nothing to obstruct views of the Ninh Binh "mountains". Quaint, peaceful, lovely staff, motorbike and bicycle rental available for low daily prices. 2 minutes walk to Tam Con Lake - boat tours and great restaurants. Most of Ninh Binh is an enjoyable cycle ride - all easily reached from here. Rooms are high quality hotel rooms. Clean, air conditioned, great beds. Couldn't reasonably ask for more.
