Traveling to Philippines? Find Puerto Galera hotels

Nice and quiet, good breakfasts, very accomodating staff. Stayed in the new units, top floor. A lot of steps and the view not that great - 50/50 og roofs on other buildings and water. Beach was the big dissapointment. Never went into water there. Highly poluted with raw sewage discharge right into the bay and the bad smell of it, yet the local government charges pier fee of 50P in or out of the "terminal". Add to it the annoying beach and street vendors and there is nothing exciting about Sabang beach. I spent most of my time in the swimming pool at the resort or boat trips to some nice snorekling reefs and swimming beaches, making it a very expensive holiday. A lot of complains about Wi-fi. There is no fast internet in Puerto Galera. Tested at least 12 different Wi-Fi networks - they all check at 0.01 - 0.15 Mbps for download. They are all feeding from Globe and Smart 3G wireless network. Now, the telcos don't have the capacity, yet they are ripping people of pretending provision of 3G bandwith and charging a lot of money for it. OKLA test of both 3G networks showed 0.28 - 0.36 Mbps download speed depending on time of the day (based on full signal strenghts of about 130 tests) - so, don't expect internet connectivity when you are thinking Puearto Galera. Leave your phone/iPad/laptop at home and have relaxing holiday at Seashore Resort

This resort indeed have the best staff. We arrived at the resort before check-in time but room's available so we're allowed to check in early which was nice because we had time to rest before the tour. The room was very neat and homey. The ambiance was very peaceful and relaxing. Also very thankful for the front desk manager, Miss Shirley for accommodating all my queries and resquests during our short stay. Spent the birthday of my boyfriend there and Miss Shirley was very happy to help me buy a cake for him even in a short notice. Boyfriend was so suprised in the morning when Miss Shirley and the staff went to our room with the cake to greet him a happy birthday. We had a great stay and will definitely reccommend this resort if you want to have a quick getaway to Puerto Galera. :)

If you plan on going to Puerto Galera just to unwind - away from the stress of life, this would be the place to really enjoy nature without having to forego the luxury and comfort. The villas are distinctly situated that you have a good view of the beach area plus the pool. Beds are comfortable and rooms nicely decorated & clean.The resort itself is quite far from the crowded area of White Beach. Each Villa has 3 different rooms, Executive and Deluxe rooms on the 2nd floor, sharing a common veranda, & the Premier room at the ground floor where you have 2 access doors, in front with a veranda, and the back door that leads to the main door of the Villa. The plus side is, that the whole villa could be rented for bigger families, but the downside would be the privacy for couples who would rather get either the Deluxe or Premier room on the 2nd floor level as the shared veranda is not something for people who would just really want to be alone or prefer just being with their loved ones. We were lucky that the couple beside ours just checked out that same day so we had the veranda to ourselves --- unless you are willing to spend more by getting the Premier Room. Food is okay but not spectacular. The management might want to strengthen improvements on the food and the bar part. However, breakfast was VERY GOOD especially the longganisa. The shuttle from Muelle Port to the resort was comfortable,the staff very nice and friendly --- as with most of the people we have noticed in Puerto Galera. The very relaxing pool, garden view, plus the swing added to the great points. Very relaxing indeed that if not for the booking I had with another resort and the price, I would have probably stayed longer. Yes…that's one of the downside - a bit pricey.Maybe the management could consider alternative solutions or packages to make it more accessible. For someone who does not mind spending a bit more for luxury and comfort…this is the place to be in Puerto Galera! LOVE THE PLACE!

We were 3 people from Hong Kong travelling to Puerto Galera mainly to experience scuba diving. We are quite satisfied regarding the facilities, including the pool, restaurant, massage room, room condition, etc. Although you need to pay for tax and service fee for the food you order from the restaurant, the price is very affordable, similar to outside restaurants but higher quality. I would mostly recommend the massage in Manarra Resort, which was an amazing experience and really a nice journey of the soul. The environment and atmosphere was great, they would turn down the lights and play restful music. The staff here are great, much appreciate them as they helped us to get to Batangas when the ships were canceled on July 1 and we were surprised. In a word, we were quite satisfied and it was a pleasant experience here in Manarra, thank you!

This is how i describe this hotel in Puerto Galera. Nice tidy and cozy rooms, very well maintained every day, lots of water activities to offer and best diving site to explore with experience instructor. It was a good choice , we enjoyed our stay. Keep up the great work, have a very prosperous and successful season ahead.

This is my second stay here, and it was just as pleasant as my first. A well run and very clean hotel with great staff and service. Eating in the restaurant was by far the best food we ate in Puerto Galera... Just a really pleasant stay and highly recommended... It's not often that you stay somewhere and everything works and you can't fault the place... Well I give the Mermaid Resort 5 ***** The rooms are clean and more than comfortable, good pressure hot water, air con and cable TV... Everything you would expect from a good hotel is there. I did not take part in the Diving but from what I could see the Mermaid Facilities made other dive facilities look so average.... Don't think twice about staying here, you won't be disappointed.

This was our first trip to the Philippines/Puerto Galera so we did not have any preconceived expectations of what to expect from accommodations in Sabang Beach. Montani Beach Resort was excellent and we extended our original two night reservation to all four nights of our stay in Puerto Galera after our first night. The pool is a nice amenity for just relaxing and drinking by on hot days. There is no dive shop directly associated with the hotel so the pool was very clean and not busy with scuba related classes. We tried many different places for food and ended up eating about half of our meals at Montani. Food is very fairly priced for the high quality you get and drink menu and happy hour specials are excellent. The rooms were recently remodeled (new bathrooms, fixtures, etc) and the photos on the internet are accurate representation of what you get. We saw other rooms at other comparable hotels when visiting White Beach and Big Laguna Bay and Montani's were the newest. The staff was wonderful and very friendly and it is obvious they have a great team put together. They had a few renovation/maintenance activities going on during the day in the vicinity of my room that in no way disturbed my stay but rather is evidence they are taking care of the property on an ongoing basis.

My stay was fantastic. I already was so happy when I saw the great big lounging sofa on the clean, and colorful (tastefully done)veranda just outside my room. I loved my room with the care for high quality linens and towels. I was happy to see a small refridgerator filled with various food and drink at good prices. The safety deposit box worked excellently and made me feel at ease as I went boating, snorkeling and exploring around Puerto Galera. Malasimbo Festival brought me to Puerto Galera and my friends booked at another resort. My companion for Papa Freds couldnt make it but I enjoyed relaxing to movies when I stayed in at Papa Fred's. After returning from the festival late one night, I encountered the guard and this made me feel safe. I also chose this resort because it has a great restaurant. It serves the European food I enjoy. The location is central, convenient, and on the waters edge. I could easily access cheaper eats elsewhere if I wanted to do that. I rebooked another stay soon after returning to Manila. Thank you to the great staff Weng, Rosie, and Derrick who helped me arrange safe snorkeling and boating excursions at an affordable price. My Puerto Galera experience while staying at Papa Fred's was excellent. Thank you Papa Fred's !

I really enjoyed my stay here. I was a solo traveler and never been to PG before so I thought I'd give the island a try. Like the island of Puerto Galera, This hotel was a pleasant surprise. I intended to stay for 2 nights but ended up extending it to 6. The hotel is not Beach front and I wouldn't swim on this beach anyway, its not meant for that. Sabang Beach which is where this hotel is located is more for divers. It is up on the hill and it takes a little effort to get to it. Because of that effort you are rewarded with a stunning view of the beach. You can see boats coming and going from the beach. It is such a spectacular view day or night. The room I was in was facing the beach and I think all rooms are. I also had a balcony so I was able to appreciate the view (sorry if I'm overemphasizing) . The rooms are spacious and clean. Wifi is OK depending on where your room is. I also have my phones's globe wifi and it was decent. Now let me tell you about the staff. Dexter is the

Coco Beach Island Resort is EXCELLENT! Although the regular rooms are a bit dark, the entire experience is superb! Although it is a bit isolated, it is the best place to be in Puerto Galera. We found a nice mix of foreigners and Philippinos. The morning free boat trips are wonderful. And the walk out of the back of the property to the Laguna beaches was beautiful . The snorkeling around Puerto Galera was better than El Nido and off of Panglao. We spent 3 nights there, which was just right for us.

Summer Connection is situated at the far side of White Beach in Puerto Galera, which is good especially if you want to be away from the bustling night life. The hotel is right at the beach front so it's better to walk along the beach once you arrive from the boat terminal to access the hotel. The easy access to the beach and relative quiet of the hotel compared to others made Summer Connection a win for me. The staff here were nice and check in was quick. The standard room was okay, it had the expected amenities like air-conditioning and cable TV. The bed was good enough for two, the pillows were soft but the blanket provided was a bit thin. The water pressure in the shower was weak but at least the hot shower was working. There's a pool in front of the room but it wasn't working at the time I was there. Summer Connection offers free breakfast from 7-10am, where you have the option to choose a Filipino breakfast, continental breakfast, or omelette set.

We had a great time in Puerto Galera. The place was good for a group. We booked 2 rooms, 3 people in each room. It was very accessible to the white beach parties. The staff were friendly, and there is a per hour extension fee option. In case you want to extend your stay. Excellent service!

We booked Sunny Beach Resort (previously known as Puerto Galera Beach Club. It has since been renamed after new management has taken over) for our 3-day stay in Puerto Galera, Mindoro. The place was superb! The ride going to the place was a bit rocky and steep, but the ambiance of the resort and the beach in front of it was worth every bump. I highly recommend that you book either the Amihan or Habagat room (we stayed in Amihan) because the balcony served as a good place for lounging – the beach view was just a cherry on top. The only concern I have with the room is the lack of accessible electric outlets, which was rather cumbersome. Charging our gadgets became a chore. I suggest that you either bring along some long extension cords with you, because we're not sure if the front desk could provide any (although we never tried to ask). The resort is strategically located right about in the middle of Talipanan Beach, which is the farthest one among the known Puerto Galera shores. Don't expect much of a night life here! The establishments (even the resort's own bar and restaurant) close early, right around 8:30 or 9:00 PM. You could stay in the bar's vicinity beyond that time, though I wouldn't really recommend going overboard since the staff waits around for you – and that implies that they're going to go beyond their working hours. The resort is perfect for a quiet and serene experience. You could opt to go to White Beach through a tricycle, or you could arrange a ride with the front desk. I'd still recommend that you stay here even if you want to experience Puerto Galera's nightlife because I doubt you'd be getting any good sleep if you choose to stay along White Beach's lodgings. The resort has two kayak paddle boats which are free of use for the guests. Life vests are included. There was an adequate amount of sun loungers, not including their swinging bed (it's literally a bed-swing) and their curtain-ladden wooden beds. Like I said, perfect for rest and relax

This is definitely the best hotel in Puerto Galera, the rooms in the new wing are superb and the views over the infinity pool and ocean are amazing. I have two teenage children who are difficult to please but they loved this hotel. The staff were lovely, they could not do enough for us, always asking if we wanted anything, and just being genuinely very friendly. A big thank you to Lez who kept my children entertained with his bar games! I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to experience the best the Philippines has to offer, you won't be disappointed. Already looking at returning later on in the year.

Booked 4 Quadrooms for a group of 16 adults and 2 kids. Arrived at 9am and very lucky that the rooms are available right away. Yes, early check in with no extra charge. Staff are very friendly and helpful. A stone throw away from the White Beach. First time in Puerto Galera. This trip will not be forgotten. Thank Mam Derling. More power to your family. God Bless.

This has been our choice of resort whenever we are in Puerto Galera - been here prior the construction of the building and pool - and the experience has always been very pleasant and memorable. I love the renovations they made - the pool is an exciting bonus. They allowed us to check in early without any extra charges, and they allowed us to change rooms given that we have a one-year old and we were not comfortable being at the top level - the view at the 3rd floor was amazing though because you have an unobstructed view of the ocean. We opted for the beachfront cabana - its proximity to the beach was very practical when you're with kids. As always, the stay was so relaxing and because we checked in on a Sunday, it was almost like we have the beach all to ourselves. The kids loved the pool. Room was spacious and clean - there's hot water in the comfort room though sometimes it's not working - not a big deal though. Staff are helpful and courteous. Will definitely come back.

as what the title said, me and my girlfriend felt so regretted when we realize we only booked here for just 1 night! And always been ask by my girlfriend if we could stay for another night regardless we already booked another room at white beach for the following day. We were greet warmly by the owner, Richard when he saw us walking to the resort.Then we were welcomed with a plate of complimentary welcoming fruits and drinks which is very lovely as we were exhausted from the trip from Makati to the resort. Also the Resort Manager, Paul , brief us about what can we do during our stay in Puerto Galera. while one of the staff, Marga, brief us about what can we do during our stay in Edgewater. To cut the remaining review short, The room - Tip Top comfort, just the soundproof are not that perfect. The facilities - they have spa and scuba diving, and also complimentary kayaking which me and my girlfriend enjoyed. The environment - perfect for a relaxing trip! enjoyed the starry night

Overall very good. As stated, hardworking dedicated staff very helpfull but seriously underpaid for the money Atlantis charges its guests to pay desk workers and cleaning staff 278 pesos per day! Mimimum wage in Puerto Galera/Mindoro Oriental. I've stayed at Atlantis several times but I don't see this hotel a 5 star accomodation. I would say a 3 star US standard, maybe a 5 star Philippine standard. My room was always clean thanks to the lovely attendant Becca who I heavily tipped at departure. Why a 3 star rating?? Every time I took a shower, the bathroom flooded, and the old heavily worn bamboo curtains didn't work properly, I had to tie them up physically. Tasks I would not have to put up with at a 5 Star Hotel.

My partner and I originally booked 2 nights at verde view villas. Upon arriving and seeing the beautiful view, and rooms as well as interacting with the wonderful staff, we decided to extend our stay another night. The staff are all so welcoming, friendly and eager to help with anything. The owners are very generous and welcoming people, they have a house close by and invited us to eat meals on their verandah as it has a great view. During our stay we enjoyed breakfast, lunch and dinner at the restaurant (especially the soups). Some of the ingredients are even grown on the grounds of Verde View. The rooms were nice, modern and comfortable and feature Apple TV with a few thousand movies. Last but not least they have a nice pool and private beach access :) If we are ever in Puerto Galera again we will be staying at Verde View Villas.

Badladz is an extremely well run small hotel in Puerto galera which offers western standards but keeps its philippino qualities. All the staff that work there speak good English and are great with all aspects of there job. 10 mins drive from Puerto Galera town proper, 5 mins drive to nearest town with supermarkets and 15 mins drive to white beach. Food was also great at a reasonable price. Best accommodation that we have stayed in after 6 weeks of travel in the philippines.

This by far is the best hotel i have stayed in puerto galera. The beach is right infront of you when you go out from their restaurant. Although the room is a bit small for their king size bed. Theres no closet only drawers and one disappointment is they missed a spot in cleaning the bathroom. However, staff is friendly and very accommodating. When we requested for our room cleaned, they did clean it thoroughly Their food is also yummy but lacks vegetables in their menu. They also dont have my favorite puerto galera drink which is the banana chocolate shake. I would give them a 5star, however theres no phone/intercom in the room. If you need something from the front desk and house keeping you need to go down to the front desk. They also dont have room service but you can bring your ordered food from their resto to your room. When we arrived in Sabang, had to ask directions going to the hotel since it was deeper into the island but it really is a 3 minute walk. When we arrived at the resort (the reception is on the 3rd floor,) we were given two complimentary ice cold water bottles. Since we arrived early, we were given a room (family?) to stay while waiting for the other room (standard) to be cleaned. When we transferred, I first noticed that the room was SO BIG. You have the typical big bed a sofa, it has a cabinet where you can put your clothes and a safety deposit box to store your valuables and it also has a balcony with a table and two chairs if you want to smoke. What amazed me was there was a HOT & COLD SHOWER. I didn't expect to have that at all! The rooftop has a mini bar, a pool (yup!) and some tables and chairs where you can see a view of Sabang. The staff were very polite, very professional and very heartwarming. I was just a tid disappointed that we were only able to stay for one night because Puerto Galera/Sabang has a lot in store for us! If we were to go back here, this would be the place to stay. Thank you!

This is near the drop off point of the bancas coming from Batangas Pier. I have booked this through Agoda.com and the rate if cheap for a 5-pax group. The room itself has a double and 3 single beds with the thinnest bed spread I have experienced. The bathroom at the minimum, functional. Just be careful with the sink otherwise it will fall off. The hot shower is just satisfying after dipping in the beach. In an area like Puerto Galera, there is no point of splurging on a hotel. It is just a big wet market chaos after all. Good thing there is the Mindoro Sling.

Location is great, in a quiet part of town, 5 minute walk to the center of Sabang Beach. Rooms are clean. Too smallto spend any time in the room. But luckily El Galleon has a beautiful, large restaurant area for drinks and to access the Internet. El Galleon also has a beautiful and relaxing bar facing the sea. Food in Philippnes is in general sub par when compared to the rest of Asia. Sabang is one of the worst places in Philippines as far as food is concerned. El Galleon's restaurant is about average for Sabang. The best restaurant is called Papa Fred's. The food is not great but at least you don't get sick from the cheap oil that are used , over and over again,in places like the restaurant named Big Apple. That being said, this was my third one week stay in El Galleon in the last 13 months. The combination of diving and El Galleon compensated for the bad food in Puerto Galera.

I had been to White Beach a few times a decade ago and had always found it to be too crowded and noisy. Therefore, I had long shunned Puerto Galera as a vacation destination. However, this weekend trip to Monkey Beach Dive Resort was a revelation - that I was basically ignorant of the best that Puerto Galera had to offer. Found on Sabang, MBDR (along with sister propert Verde View Villas) sits on a hill with a commanding view of the coast of Batangas and islands in between. It is isolated from the pier and town proper, but made convenient with the free transport provided by the resort. MBDR has 5 rooms. Though basic in design, what stands out are the extremely beautiful views and the high quality creature comforts inside the rooms (Apple TV, good wifi, large comfy bed, large bathroom, etc.). The pool is so scenic and perfect for a dip! Food quality is above average, but I think slightly expensive. This is not a place for budget travelers, so be warned.

I was on vacation in the Philippines with a few friends for my birthday. It actually was 2 of my friends' birthdays on the same month too. We were spoiled from the very beginning--got a great deal for a deluxe suite, escorted by one of their representatives at the port and were able to check in early without any additional fees. The hotel itself is a little bit of a ride from the pier in Muelle and White Beach but it definitely was worth the peace and quiet we got. We arrived on a Friday and was able to check in at 11am, way early than their regular check in time of 2pm at no additional costs. We were immediately accommodated by their staff and brought to our suite. The suite was great with a view of the luscious, green mountains and a very spacious veranda. We were the only guests on our first night so we had the whole place to ourselves, definitely enjoyed the peace and quiet after a long, exhausting trip to Puerto Galera. They offer free shuttle service to and from White Beach and Aninuan Beach which is an added bonus. Food and drinks were okay but had a very limited selection. Price was definitely worth every penny. The only thing short were toiletries. It could have been better if they had that in the room. Other than that, we had a blast in Puerto Galera. We were treated with way more than a 3-star service. Definitely worth recommending and going back.

friendly staff. they have security box if you ask them where you can keep your valuble things. restaurant 10 meter from beach. aslso a large balcony from where you can see the beach. all in all a plesant basic hotel. i rented a scooter in puerto galera port and from the port it only takes 30 miuntes to get to white beach hotel. once you have a motorbike its also nice to be able to go around in nearby roads to se other places.

This was our 4th time in Puerto Galera and 1st time to stay this area to celebrate our Chinese New Year vacation. The small fishing village was very quiet. And the beach and sea water were more appropriate for seeing than swiming. The room was spacious, nice and clean, and had a simple kitchen. The public market was only 1.2KM away and easy to buy something for cooking.

Enjoyed my stay at the red sun.The rooms are clean and comfortable.The views from the resort are the best in sabang.Would definitely consider staying here again should circumstances permit.
