The Sherwood, Queenstown was our final destination of our driving holiday around the South Island and it was by far the nicest place we stayed. When we arrived, we were immediately impressed by the fact that the hotel had put considerable thought into the decor of the refurbishment which was a refreshing change compared to the other hotels we stayed in. The relaxing, 'earthy' vibe was present at reception and flowed on through to our room, where we were met with a trendy aztec style design and a room that promoted a sense of well-being. Furthermore, we were greeted with quiet, pleasant music sounding from a radio in the bedroom. The atmosphere was set! The welcome drink, fire pit and vegetable garden were also aspects that contributed to our overall experienc. The restaurant on site was on-trend in both style and cuisine. Thank you to the Sherwood for making our stay in Queenstown so memorable! We can't wait to come back :)

We were so happy with our 6 day stay at The Glebe in January. We stayed in the studio room which was so comfortable and beautifully decorated. We had everything in our kitchen even a rice cooker! It was the best provisioned kitchenette we have ever stayed at. They provided you with an abundance of every amenity even down to the dish soap. The ladies who run this fabulous establishment do an amazing job at making their guests feel completely welcome and do whatever they can to action every request. It's been a long time since I have been at a hotel that always answered 'yes' to any reasonable request that you had. You are so close to everything in downtown Queenstown making it easy to grab food from the store or go out for dinner.

Great hotel on the beach front, close to everything. Very efficient and very warm and friendly staff, rooms were very nice and clean. Would recommend to everyone, this is the best hotel in Queenstown.

The location was exactly how I like - not right in the city centre (no noise, no crowd, no pollution), but very close it. By very close, I mean easily walkable. There's a short cut to reach the centre centre by foot - which is uphill (only about 100 meters or so - the rest of the way is quite flat) when you go back to the hotel but almost all of New Zealand has big ups and downs. It wasn't a problem for me although I had a bad knee scrape at that time. The room itself was quite spacious and the kitchen was adequately equipped. The staff were very responsive and professional. The room was serviced everyday (basic cleaning and replacing towels etc,) - I was surprised that they even did the dishes when I left in a rush left a few dishes in the sink. Like many other hotels in NZ, this is also easily reachable by Super Shuttle from the airport ($20). Overall, I had no complaints and had a very pleasant stay. I think it's very good value for money. I'd definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone.

Really great location to get up the mountains for skiing or go exploring to Arrowtown but also still close to central Queenstown. Only a 5 minute drive from the airport so convenient to get to once you arrive. Having the washing machine and dryer was really great and they provided the washing liquid too. Having the full kitchenette was also fantastic as it meant we could pop down to the supermarket two minutes up the road and then cook our own food to save some money. Beautiful clean room - as it should be for a very new hotel.

The heater in the room for cold days is not enough, need to ask for extra heater or electric blanket. We traveled I'm new Zealand from 5/17, I know most good quality accommodation can provide in the room(strong heater, air condition, or electric blanket). We are traveling with baby and our parents, we can't let our family have chance to get sick while sleeping. One of the managers at the reception first day ask us to tell them if we really feel code at the first night (so strange, we already use the heater more than three hours and we really feel cold in the room though she finally give us a extra heater after we use agoda message to complaint this) and when the manager leave our apartments complaint we are ridiculous(michelle). The second day my parents told me they feel very cold at night and my mom doesn't feel well, therefore we put the extra heater we got first day in my parents room. And ask extra heater or electric blanket for my parent's. The second day manager do help us quickly, but she mentioned in soda message our room is very hot (I put the extra heater in my parents room that's why when staff is coming the room is warm). I talked to other guests also stay in the apartments they feel warm in the room because the first day the apartment staff already provide electronic blanket. And manager Michelle not give us two extra heater first day because the other apartment need one. I don't believe most apartment room are warm enough with the weak heater, especially the days we stayed queenstown temperature went down quickly.

As our flight into Queenstown arrived early in the morning we transferred to this hotel expecting to just leave our bags and return later in the day. Upon arriving, the duty manager took it upon herself to liaise with housekeeping staff to have one of the two rooms we had booked ready for us within the hour. The duty manager took our mobile number and called us within the hour while we having breakfast to advise the room was ready and we could return and check in at our leisure. This allowed us to wander around Queenstown and get some breakfast and have a shower after a long flight then get on with our full day of activities. The service at this property was impeccable. The rooms are very well appointed with great views and very comfortable beds. A great experience.

The room is spacious and feels very new and clean. Staff was very friendly during the check-in and advising on the check-out routine, as we will require the keycard for the carpark before checking out. There is underground hotel car park available. I'm not sure if it is a 1-1 ratio of parking lots to the hotel rooms, as the car park was full. Location is good, as it is near shopping and marts, but is a good 10-15mins drive to Queenstown central where all the actions are. A good middle-ground between Queenstown (actions) and Gibbston Valley (Wineries)

Been coming to Queenstown for nearly a decade and this accommodation for what you get and location was easily the best value for money. Friendly, unintrusive staff.....came back to a clean apartment every day after being up on the slopes. The location is only a few minutes walk into town and really close to a supermarket. I will most definitely be staying here again. 5 out of 5!!!

I spent 3 nights at the St. James Apartments. On entry I was a little concerned, the was vaccuming going on and few people getting in or out. Specially since it is not our standard reception area like big hotels, I was a little worried. Check in was easy headed to Room 307. Actually it was a suite, two huge beds, each equipped with shower etc, then the was the kitchen a living room and dinning table. In honesty 6 people could fit just fine. Everything was clean and well appointed. The the was the view from the balcony ( looking directly at the very green hill was nice every morning. Plus you are in the middle of downtown Queenstown. So you are proximal to grocery store and restaurants. The staff I dealt with mostly was super helpful, she even helped me book my day flight to Milsford Sounds ( must do). Now it was a little pricey and a little noise since Room windows open to a road. But all I needed to do was close the window and noise dead down. Thank you for great stay! Keep it up!

We had a pleasant stay at YHA. Their place is at the center of Queenstown and can be accessible by bus. All the famous restaurants including Fergburger are within reach. There are also a lot of activities nearby (skydiving, bungee, skyline, shotover, etc). Their shared kitchen has a nice view. Their wifi is fast as well. Their staff are very helpful as well. We just had a problem with their sink in our bathroom since the hot water has a separate faucet from the cold water. It's hard to mix the 2. Also, there's no elevator which is a bit hard when you are carrying a big luggage. All in all, we had a good stay. I recommend this to anyone who wants to stay in Queenstown.

We chose this hotel because it was good value for money and it was one of the few hotels in Queenstown that has a pool. The room was a good size with two double beds and a large en-suite. There was a nice pool however it was freezing and while we were there several people came and left without getting in. We didn't eat in the restaurant but they had a good menu and it was reasonably priced. We did however have the breakfast and there was a variety of options and the food was good (though it was a bit cold). The only negative part of our visit was when we came to check out, my husband handed over his card and was told there was a 1.5% charge for credit cards, he explained it wasn't a credit card but the receptionist said he could only put it through like one. The receptionist then asked for a debit card instead but when we handed over an English card he said there would be a charge for that too! We've travelled all over the world and never been charged for using our debit card before.

The Coronation Lodge was within walking distance to the city center. The staff were extremely helpful and attentive to any needs you may have. The laundry facilities were clean and efficient. There is even a clothesline in the back to save energy use. The room and ensuite were clean and the bed was comfortable. The Lodge strongly encourages and follows through with their commitment to be "green" and conserve water and recycle. We checked out the day we left for an overnight cruise on Milford Sound and the staff gladly stored our luggage until we returned the next day. They even called ahead to our next destination to informed them we were just leaving Queenstown and would arrive later than expected to check-in. We would highly recommend staying at the Coronation Lodge when visiting Queenstown.

We had a great time here at Queenstown House and would love to return one day soon! Louise is a very friendly host and made sure we got an excellent run down of Queenstown and helped us plan our trip. Cherie looked after us while we stayed and made sure we had everything we needed and helped us out with bookings for activities with a smile every time. We really appreciated the service Cherie provided during the daily happy hour, where wine and canapés were continuously brought out to us. We met some great people on this trip and the location was so close to town, with just a short walk (and a very steep hill!) to help us burn off our dinner on the way back. Thank you to Louisa and Cherie and we look forward to our next stay at Queenstown House!

Just one of the Best hostels I have ever stayed at in my 5yrs of travel and especially for New Zealand, was very happy to see it really embrace the use of Te Reo Maori, Maori art and culture, as well as it's LGBTQ friendly sign out the front. The staff were very friendly and professional, and welcoming. They were also very helpful. The lounge is spacious, clean, well set out and has a beautiful view of the Lake and the mountains, the kitchen looked clean and new. The Dorms were spacious and the private pods are an awesome idea, with a light and a charging section in each and a curtain to pull over the bed.. just awesome, There is Free Soup, which is delicious, hearty and flavourful, and in the morning a decent continental breakfast, beds are comfortable, large, pillows are quality and big. Great location, close to town but a little bit away enough to be quiet and away from the sound... just amazing... Thank you and I def recommend this Hostel... Nothing bad to say at all...

The location is a 5-min walk to central where restaurants and malls are, and most tour meet up is. I so loved the view right in front of our unit and great value for my money! I will definitely recommend this to a friend going to Queenstown.

My husband and I spent four wonderful days in Queenstown over the New Year’s holiday and stayed at the Alexis Motor Hotel. We selected this place based on outstanding reviews and it’s easy to see why everyone likes it. It’s located about a ten minute walk from the heart of Queenstown but enough outside the hustle and bustle that it’s very quiet at night (and this even included New Year’s Eve - but we were close enough to be able to watch the fireworks from a balcony and sheltered from the rain). We asked the proprietor for a recommendation on good sea food and he gave us two choices. One was a fairly expensive but highly rated restaurant. The other was a seafood shack on the Marine Parade that was cheap but really good. He didn’t even know the name (it’s Aggy’s) but knew it was a great deal. He was right! The rooms are spacious, clean, and ours included a spa. The view from our front window was of the Incredibles and the Frankton Arm of Lake Wakatipu. From the kitchen window (kitchen has cook top, refrigerator, sink, and microwave) we could see the gondola up to skyline. Not bad for a budget location. There is a charge for local calls and we had to make five to confirm or change tour reservations. We went to the office to settle the bill and they said it’s only $2 so forget it! What a great place and what great people! Note that they provide 30 min. of free internet per device per 24 hrs. This means that your best strategy is to log on early and at the same time each day.

We stayed in a 2 bedrooms apartment. It was modern, clean, spacious and having a large balcony with spectacular view over the Queenstown. We enjoyed very much as we could have the marvellous view of overseeing the whole town and lake from the sofa in the living room, dining table or even the open kitchen when we were cooking! Actually everything was just great and very much more than what we expected with such reasonable price. The apartment was newly refurbished and maintained well. he electronic hot plate, cloth washing and drying machine, etc. were working nice that we had a very smooth and comfortable 2 night stay in BluePeaks Apartment. They would charge room cleaning if you want the service. And you have to clear the rubbish bin by yourself and take steps to the lowest floor to reach the refuse collection point. But it is no problem to us as we used to keep our rooms as clean as possible, just like in our home. The shower pressure was strong enough to give us a great shower.

Close to supermarket and just a quick walk to downtown. Facilities are really clean and in good condition. Staff were nice and the park had a mellow vibe among fellow campers. Free parking spot with unit - huge bonus when in downtown Queenstown.

We loved these apartments. The facilities were excellent with a great kitchen and en suite bathrooms in both rooms. The view from our balcony was great at night and day. Whilst it was not cheap, it was quite good value for Queenstown. There are so many things to do around this area. You need to have plenty of time and money, as nothing is cheap!

First time checking in a hostel and it wasn't bad at all! Thank you the kind receptionist for making all arrangemebts for our last-minute booking with them.

We settled in for three nights in this motel and enjoyed it very much. We were actually upgraded to a two-bedroom apartment though we didn't need the second room and left it closed to save the heat--Queenstown was having a cold snap when we were there (early February). It was great to have the separate bedroom and living/dining room and the kitchenette was well equipped. The owners were very friendly and helpful, always there when needed (during the posted hours), and the coin laundry was a great help (laundry powder provided). There is a steep walk down to town and back up but it's good exercise! Highly recommended.

We chose three Bella Vista hotels during our trip through New Zealand in October. We were very happy with all three. The Bella Vista Queenstown had an ideal location. Beautiful scenes out the windows. We easily walked into the center of town. The rooms were modern and spotless. The employees were very kind and helpful. We would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a reasonably priced room in an excellent location.

I stayed at Hurleys of Queenstown for 8 nights and loved every second of it. It is located an ideal 10 minute walk from the Queenstown town centre. Rooms have been renovated recently so they look and feel new. Whilst there is a gym and sauna, unfortunately they have not been so recently refurbished.

We have just got home from 7 nights in this hotel and it was fantastic. The location is great, very close to the centre of town and has beautiful views over the town, the lake and of course the Remarkables. We stayed in a balcony lake view room in the main lodge and I would say it is worth paying a little more for the views (with or without the balcony). The balcony is shared but they are divided up with planter boxes so are kind of private anyway. There was a kitchenette in the room for tea/coffee/toast/microwavable food and a main kitchen in the wing which had more room to cook if you needed and also a dishwasher and sink. There is also a barbecue and a nice sitting area outside. The staff are friendly and helpful. :) The rooms were very clean including the bathroom and the shared areas. The one slight downside is the limit on wifi, we started with a 250mb card and got another maybe 500mb card half way through as part of a total clean. Before we went I thought this would be heaps but we went through them very quickly (not downloading or anything, pretty much just using a little bit of facebook and to check out restaurants). It wasn't the biggest deal as if you're in Queenstown, you're probably there to do a lot of activities anyway and we found a few cafe's/bars where we could get on the internet if needed. I haven't stayed elsewhere in New Zealand recently so I don't know if this is to do with the internet they receive in general or if it is normal for hotels? We would definitely stay here again I think the value here is great considering the amazing view and beautiful rooms.

We had a thoroughly enjoyable 3 night stay in Caples Court in beautiful Queenstown. Right from the start the staff were helpful and knowledgeable, answering all our queries as this was our first visit to Queenstown. The room was spacious, with separate bathroom, bedroom and living area. I was particularly impressed by the little touches such as the filter coffee and cafetiere in the room, much nicer than coffee granules. The location was good; just a short 4-5 minute walk down Stanley Street into the town centre. Likewise, the hotel is only a 10 minute drive from the Airport. Most rooms seemed to have a view overlooking Lake Wakatipu. Ours did not but we were compensated by a nice view of the garden. We would highly recommend Caples Court and would stay here again when we (hopefully) return to Queenstown in the future.

It is equipped with kitchenette, room is clean and well maintained. The view from the balcony is amazing, over looking the snow capped mountain. Car park was sufficient, walking distance to Queenstown central. Helpful staff provide a lot of information on tour available to Milford sound as well as other attractions and activities available. Worth every cent spent! Had a great time staying here.

I like their place is very good modern and spacious,location is very close to queenstown city center and just in fromt of lake wakatipu. They provide all charges for phone..

It was brilliant. The apartment was well equipped and really clean, really recommended for families with young and old kids. All the rooms are spacious, and the view from the balcony was just amazing!!! Awesome view of lake Wakatipu. Everything was good but I do have one complaint for the managing staff, its better to let people traveling from west coast to Queenstown via Aspiring national park know that there the road is closed from 6 PM to 7 AM daily due land slide works. We had to spend one night in Fox glacier because we were not informed by hotel staff. I think my comment is fair because there are only two roads to Queenstown from Christchurch and its not difficult to keep track of such blocking road works. Having said that there are no complaints about the accommodation.

Fantastic. Wonderful period cottages set in one if the most picturesque towns in New Zealand. The cottages incorporate the amazing and and rich pioneer history. Extremely central and comfortable, and the owner was extremely friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend Settlers Cottages to anyone
