"checking-in was very courteous from the very start since i came up in the morning from a morning flight arrival and have made use of the hour waiting, since the room is still being prepared, by letting me use the business center facility in the lobby for my internet needs and get use to the place and the surrounding communities. even booking or reservation for my arranged tours were gladly handled by the front desk staffs with full courtesy. the welcome services and the concierge are really great. even currency exchanges can be handled by the staffs. the hotel is located in the main avenue of downtown santiago where most of the tour agents congregate simply because of its very strategic location and very pleasant touristic monument beside it, the san francisco cathedral. the back alleys and streets are also nice for walking tours as they resemble the historical and cultural landscape of santiago. the hotel facilities with its gym facility, the sauna, and the indoor pool are really a plus for the hotel experience. the breakfast was awesome as they also maintain a good quality of food selection in the buffet service. the room was excellent and i am really delighted by the daily maintenance and housekeeping and the internet wifi inside the room. so far my experience was great in this hotel and would be delighted to stay once again and enjoy its awesome facilities and courteous staffs. maybe in the future the hotel administrator can schedule a make up or improvement of the elevators most especially the one on the eastern side since sometimes it is unreliable at some instance during my four-night stay and it is really difficult to wait for a long time most especially when you are hurrying for a business meeting. i would recommend others to try this hotel as it met my expectations."

"Standard of staff was uneven, check-in staff was lovely but cleaning staff would sometimes leave rubbish from other rooms in my room after cleaning e.g. tissue box lid on the floor, opened and half finished tube of shampoo beside my sink ( I did not use the shampoo provided by the hotel as my hair reacts badly if I don’t use my usual brand so I know that tube was not from my room). Did not feel safe as the lock did not work and there was no door chain or bar. Staff sometimes opened the door after knocking once and without waiting for a response even when do not disturb light was on. A repairman tried to enter my female colleague’s room at 11pm and when she complained the hotel said it was part of normal “turndown” procedures. It is otherwise a fairly nice hotel with a supermarket across the street and eateries nearby but if you stay there make sure the safe in your room works and maybe barricade the door with furniture or luggage before going to bed."

"Everything was perfect at this hotel, from its location to its excellent service and great restaurant. It's in a quiet side street, just off busy Av Providencia in the lovely suburb of Providencia, close to shops, a bank (where I withdrew Chilean pesos using my Australian debit card), restaurants, attractive homes and the delightful Metropolitan Park and San Cristobal hill over the other side of the Mapocho River. Staff were without exception friendly and helpful and spoke good English, some perfectly and accentlessly. My room was spacious and modern and the bathroom very well appointed. The shower was very good. The hotel has an attractive modern decor. Apart from the excellent and varied breakfasts (including custom-cooked omelettes - a rarity at the hotels I stayed at in South America), dinners were superb and offered a variety of typical Chilean cuisine as well as more conventional dishes such as risottos and pastas. Every meal I had was high quality and the service was faultless. Breakfast was included in my very reasonable tariff. The suburb of Providencia, where the hotel is located, is quite an up-market area and I really enjoyed strolling the lovely surrounding streets, particularly over the other side of the Mapocho River, about 5 minutes walk away. I had frequent stunning views of the Andes in the background of lovely leafy streets and attractive houses. The area is about 4 km from the Plaza de Armas, the 'centre' of Santiago. Providencia seems to be one of the main hotel areas, with Sheraton, Hyatt and other high-end hotels close by. Overall I loved staying at the Solace Hotel and in this area and would be very happy to stay there again next time I'm in Santiago. I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel."

"The hotel was much better than expected. In general 5* hotels in Santiago at this price are 3* at best - this was a good four star. The room with seperate lounge, cooking facilities (not used) and big bathroom presented value for money. Excellent service and attention. The breakfast on the 17 th floor was great. "

"Pros- close to airport but still a bus transfer away. Takes max 30 mins in high traffic around 6/7pm but not a bad situation. Bed comfy and had a good sleep. Cons- limited menu for food and service could be improved. Our drinks were forgotten as were other visitors during peak dinner time. "
