Traveling to Brazil? Find São Paulo hotels

I booked the 15 people dorm on Agoda.com when i saw it was going on a very good deal. I initially had expected it to be ok for the price that I was paying but it was a lot worse than I thought.I was allocated to the room in the basement. When I saw the room, there were rubbish and personal belonging strewn on over the floor. No housekeeping for a few days maybe. What irked me the most was that there wasn't any ventilation in the room at all. Sure, it was cold at night, but the windows were perpetually closed and the air conditioner wasn't working (I tried). So every night we just left the door to the room open (so much for security). Luckily the people in the dorm were mostly nice and friendly. One hung his wet clothings above me when he couldn't find a clothes rack. It was probably dripping all night. Maybe the hostel could invest in one clothes rack for a 15 people dorm? I liked the restroom which had 2 cubicles for showering and 2 toilets.They were cleaned almost everyday. For those carrying heavy luggage, it is not recommended because the route from the Paradiso Subway station is full of steps and hills. Despite it being a 10/15min walk, it could be torturous for those who are not travelling light.

It is your typical hostel. Clean and comfortable. Kitchen is sufficient. Location is good in terms of transportation as it is near Luz Metro(subway) and CPTM (train)station. I believe airport express bus is also nearby. The surroundings (not the hotel itself) are full of homeless people and you won't feel safe at night. Other than that it is recommended.

There is laundry bussiness beneath the hotel and its make the walls viberate and the back side of the hotel is very nosy because of that. Except that the hotel is high quality and the staff bery nice peaple. If you get room in the front i belive there wouldnt be nose

The staff and other guests are great, so helpful and friendly. The place has a lovely vibe... I will be staying again on my return.

We stayed in a private double room. The room and bathroom were okay but on the small size. There was a refrigerator and a fan but it wasn't very powerful so we found the room very hot and stuffy. The bed sheets didn't fit properly and came off everytime you turned over. Staff were friendly and helpful, especially in emails before arrival. The room was not cleaned each day properly and the hostel was noisy at night. We had to ask the drunken guests to be quiet - the night staff should have done this. That said, it was a good price and the dorm rooms looked okay. Good wifi.

We initially booked 4 nights as this was us just arriving in Sao Paulo. We loved the city and decided to stay on - not once but twice. As O de Casa was such a great hostel in a really nice, safe,location we decided to remain here for the extended period. The nearest Metro Faria Lima is only 15 minute walk at most and there is a budget supermarket opposite there. A slightly more upmarket supermarket is just 2 blocks from the hostel with a laundry service opposite. As well as being easy walking distance from the lively scene on Rua Aspicuelta there are plenty of nice bars and restaurants en-route and loads of nice bars, coffee shops and boutiques in the area. The O de Casa bar also makes a mean Caipirinhas and is a pleasant place to sit and relax. The staff are all very helpful and knowledgeable and there are daily suggestions written up for things to do and see in this great city. English is all well spoken and staff will help you with your Portuguese.

I do not recommend this. the hotel is not bad but this area is one of the worst areas in Sao paulo.

Everything was fine during our stay. For this kind of visit in Sao Paulo (to shop) it is well located and you can go by taxi to the main shop points paying less than

I had a room on the top floor overlooking the main road. There is traffic noise but it did not bother me too much as the room is air-conditioned. The condition of the room (room 601) and the hotel is rather old. The tap of the washing basin of my room keeps on dripping. The soap dish in the shower was tilted so it required a lot of skill to put a bar of soap on it. The buffet breakfast has scrambled eggs, susages, lots of fruits and cakes, bread, and also a selection of cheese and ham. The counter staff spoke very little English. And if the hotel front door is locked, don't worry, just wait for the counter staff to come back from the toilet break.

All you need for a backpacker is Hot water shower and fast stable wifi. Hostel Vergueiro leaves you no complaint! Moreover, they provide breakfast with heart ( the best breakfast I've had in South America hostel), meals order per request with professional and delicious Chinese food, FREE water in the lobby, and the most important is hospitality owner and staffs! Talk with the owner and you might find surprise how great the hostel you are staying. Oh! And 1 more thing, the location is close to 2 metro stations, post office 5mins walk, oriental street and av.paulista in 15mins walk. And the hostel is very clean, good smell on the sheet and blanket!

this hotel locates very close to the station "são bento," and very easy to access to wherever i wanted to go. in addition, there was policemen around there so that i felt kind of more security. the reception was good and people there were friendly and helpful. even though the room was not very clean, it was big enough to stay. the breakfast (café da manhã) was well prepared.

This Hotel is very value and good stay for Business trip around this area. It very close to shopping mall and supermarket. And a lot of international food in the shopping mall. Breakfast in this Hotel is very good for testing. Room service and staff also very good.

There was some confusion with the booking (our reservation via Agoda was not received by the hotel before our arrival) and we had to wait for almost an hour for Agoda to fax our reservation to the hotel. So it will be good to check your reservation at the hotel before your trip... The hotel was okay otherwise.

Nice hotel but the area didn't seem great. We arrived at night which probably didn't help. The staff were friendly, the receptionist didn't speak much english but used google translate to try to explain things to us which was sweet. There was a good selection at breakfast. Wifi didn't work in the hotel at all while we were there which was annoying.

Terrible. I booked and paid for 3 nights. I prefered to stay elsewhere pay more money as unsafe area. Travelers from overseas should never stay here!

New designer hotel with only six rooms on each floor. Small, local bars and eateries within 20 meters from entrance - and an old fashioned laundry just across the street, which makes up for the fact that the hotel does not offer inhouse laundry service. 10 minutes of walk to Avenue Paulista, with shopping malls, the Trianon park and MASP (The Sao Paulo Museum of Art). 15 minutes of walk to Rua Augusta, the vibrant party and dining street. Level of service could be better - I had to ask several times to have my minibar filled up every time I had finished the water. And the wifi signal in the room was very unstable.

The hotel itself is fine. During the day the area provides good connections to the rest of the cities (either by bus or metro). At night, however, the area is relatively dodgy and serves as a local hangout for drug addicts.

The bed was extremely uncomfortable. The aircon was noisy. the area is in a good area but public transport is not convenient. There was only a bus which comes not so often and hectic getting back. Not worth the value. AHostel in sao paulo would ebe cheaper and much more comfortable.

pousada ibituruna is simple, clean and nice hostel about 10 minutes walk to centrasl airport sao paulo congonhgas, from there you have good connections to any place in sao, or to internatial guarulhos airport. there are three restaurant in surrounding, couple coffee shops, and big deparment store. bus stop is only 5 min away, so the postion (if you are looking to be close to airport - in walking distance) is great. hostel is cheap, so is the level of service, but staff is very friendly, couple that is running the hostel are taking it very personal, what is excellent. altogether: it is clean, but simple, but next time around i will make the same choice!

The staff seems nice enough at first; friendly, accommodating, and efficient, but when an issue came up and I called the front desk, the follow-up to fix the issue was completely non-exitent. I had to call the front desk a few times, then go downstairs myself, and in the end nothing got done to fix my issue. It was sad that at check-in they all seemed so caring, but actually is was merely for appearance. Sad, the hotel has potential if they only cared more about their guests.

Only good thing was an awesome WIFI everything is what is expected of a 1 star accommodation - bed, shower and a cheap rate

I stayed at Bourbon Convention Center for business in Sao Paulo. The hotel was very nice from the lobby to the rooms. Excellent service on hotel needs as well as recommendations/service for out of hotel activities. The food was excellent and the breakfast buffet was included and very extensive.

the reception is good and helpful. Just the shuttle bus service is very bad, while i was waiting at lobby , i looked at the shuttle bus stopping near the entrance, saw the bus driver tied the seat belt and started the engine, i thought he would drive to the main entrance and picked me up. But he turned to the road outside and went away, i kept waving my hands and the concierge not helping and just watching the bus left. Terrible service. Reception is nice and helpful . room is clean and comfortable.
