Traveling to South Korea? Find Sokcho-si hotels

The hotel has a fantastic view of the East Sea and near to the seafood restaurants at Daepo Port. As we took public bus opposite Sokcho Express Bus Terminal bus stop, it is pretty convenient to get to Daepo Port and walk about 10mins to the hotel. As it was raining for the 2 days which I stayed at Sokcho, the hotel staff was very nice to help me book a taxi to get to Sokcho Express Bus Terminal. The stay was great though the bed was abit too soft for my back. Nevertheless, will still come back again when I visit Sokcho!

We stayed for 2 nights at Lotte Resort Sokcho. The view from our room is impressive, overlooking the ocean. Resort has all the amenities that you need - minimart, arcade, convenience store and so on.. It was a great getaway from city. Only downside is that swimming pool is not opened in winter.

Location was good, between sea and Seoraksan. For a family with children the two playgrounds across the street were great. Hotel breakfast was ok with juice, coffee/tea, toast, butter, strawberry jam, smoked eggs and ramen. We ate dinner twice at Hanoi Star and once Korean BBQ in walking distance.The bed was very hard as mentioned before. The room was actually quite with dark curtains, but the water pipes of rooms around us were a bit noisy. The owner was nice and spoke good English.

overall we're very enjoy staying at class 300, it is new hotel in sokcho, in front of the hotel can take bus 7 / 7-1 direct to seoraksan national park. toilet is big and clean, modern design. lovely!

i think this hotel is the best hotel in sokcho, korea. near the seoraksan natiional park. very close to go there. the room was clean , big, beautiful, and high end classic style. feel like stay at british hotel style. the staff was so friendly and warm . so enjoy to stay at this hotel. good job, kensingston star hotel!!

Hotel room very old. We got 1 bedroom appartment, unfortunately there's no aircon in the room. So stuffy!! But as for the breakfast spread, it's awesome!! Alots of food & beach front!! Nice!!

Travelled to Sokcho to hike Seoraksan This guesthouse is everything that you need! It has free breakfast (simple yet VERY filling) included in the rate, the rooms are really clean and the bunk beds are really spacious. The ensuite toilet is really spacious and the shower temperature is great for me! The guesthouse is just right opposite Sokcho Express Bus Terminal, you can't miss it from across the street. Right beside it, there is a family restaurant that specialises in Korean clear beef soup 설렁탕 and Korean stuffed blood sausages 순대 in different flavours (which is also the specialty of the region). A few more steps and you'll see a fried chicken shop and CU convenience store. The guesthouse is also a 5 minute walk to Sokcho beach, where you can have a very good view of Sunrise and Sunset, with many seafood restaurants along the beach. (Tip: if you're heading to Seoraksan, take bus 7 or 7-1 right outside CU convenience store) You'll be greeted by the dogs in the guesthouse and they are really cute. The two owners are really nice and despite speaking minimal English, they went all out to make sure my stay was pleasant. The entertainment room at the basement was really unique! It's like a mini auditorium to hang out and watch movies. There are board games, Wii and a mini billiard table for guests to play too. There is a meeting room at the basement for guests who needs some privacy to discuss things. Another pleasant surprise was that the movies on demand were free. However, if you can't read or understand Korean, it might be a problem. Thank you for the pleasant stay, will definitely be back!

Room in old fashion, but quite new for the toilet. Tidy, clean, room in good size. Great breakfast. No room internet Not far away from the highway. A good stop between Seoul and Sokcho-si Big car park. Have mini shops.

The place is spacious and clean, just as advertised. Location is perfect as it is very near a lot of convenience stores (there is one below the hotel, but the choices are quite limited), a bus terminal, and the Sokcho beach.

This hotel was a great choice. It is a bit out of town but close to several attractions. Hotel is a bit outdated and bathroom could have been cleaner. We stayed in the deluxe room and it was perfect for our family. Very roomy with dining room table, small kitchenette, couch, tv and separate bedroom. I was disappointed that the pool cost so much, it was around $30 for 1 adult, 1 child and 2, 3 year olds. We only went once because of the price but the kids had a lot of fun. For those going for pokemon go, there is a pokespot right in the middle of the courtyard and we could play from our room.

Great hotel and great prices. Just on the outskirts of Sokcho-si, about 6,000 KRW taxi ride to either the Bus Terminals or Seoraksan Park - kind of in the middle of both. Rooms are really nice, especially for the price. Very clean hotel, and the amenities in the rooms are very nice: big flatscreen, nice beds (mattresses are a little hard, but that's every where in Asia), all the toiletries you need, bottled water, etc. Staff was great and accommodating, and generally spoke pretty good English. There is a restaurant downstairs with pretty decent food and the prices aren't too bad, if you're in a pinch. Would definitely stay here again if going to Seoraksan.

The guesthouse is really convenient if you are visiting Sokcho. It is located at about 3 minutes walk from the Intercity Bus Terminal which has buses to many parts of South Korea (We took a bus from Hongeye and a bus to Dong Seoul). It is also convenient to get around Sokcho (Mount Seroksan is easily accessible by bus and the fish market and beach is easily accessible on foot). The place is clean and cozy and the room is well heated with ondol. The breakfast is simple, similar to what we get at other Korean hostels/guest house but I really appreciated that they had helpers cooking the eggs for us. The staff can speak simple English so there should not be major problems communicating. They are also really nice and could provide you with information about places to visit. There is only one minor drawback which is that the showers take a little long to heat up. Overall it is great value for money and really convenient if you are visiting Sokcho by the intercity bus.

Goodmorning Hotel is located right by Sokcho Beach. It is also a block away from the express bus terminal which was extremely convenient my girlfriend and I (who took the express in from Seoul). I wish we had planned on staying more than just one day in Sokcho.

5 min walk to the nearest bus stop. It is an old kind of hotel so a little bit run down. But good for the bucks! I had a comfortable sleep there

The lady boss and her husband provide excellent services. They are very helpful and friendly. They helped me to order seafood at the restaurant. They gave me ideas for places to visit and provide us with directions. The room is super clean and the bed is very comfortable. The shower water is hot and strong. The air con is strong, cold and silent during hot summer. We slept very well. Simple and declicious breakfast provided. Kitchen is neat and clean. My daughter and I have had a great, memorable time in Sokcho due to warm hospitality of this guesthouse. Thank you to Judith and Mr Lee. Anyone who come to Sokcho should stay at this guest house. It is located near the fisheries market and abai village. It is best location to travel around Sokcho. The bus stop is just near the guest house and is convenient. We will definitely come back to stay at this guesthouse. Highly recommend to anyone who come to Sokcho. So far the best guesthouse I have stayed. They are the best.

Highly Recommended. Mr. Yoom, the host, is very nice and helpful. His English is good which easy for communication. The room is clean and comfortable. Light breakfast is provided. It is close to the beach and only takes 8-10mins walk from the bus stop and convenient store. If you are going for hiking at Seolaksan Gungnip Gongwon, it's very good choice. Surprise that a lovely dog Berry welcomes you there.

A very pleasant experience! It is the best hotel we've ever stayed in South Korea. The host, Juha, can speak fluent English and is very willing to help - he even picked us up in the local bus terminal at dinner time when we arrived at Sokcho-si! Actually we had no idea about how to travel from Nami-Island from Sokcho-si and only made enquiry to Juha on the day when we are heading to Sokcho-si - he replied every email right away and even made some recommendations on dinner place near the hotel as we would be arriving in dinnertime. The room is spacious and lovely, delicated decoration which makes the whole place like a home (there is even a lovely sofa in our room!). Of course, the highlight is the jacuzzi which is perfect for hikers who have spent their whole day in climbing Seoraksan. When introducing the room to us, Juha demonstrated to us how to make coffee in our own room with the coffee beans roasted by himself. Moreover, Juha is very patient in answering every single question and request from us, when we told him that we were going to Naejangsan the next day, he shared his experience with us and even asked us what he may help. It's easy to find a luxurious or glamourous hotel to stay in, but nothing is comparable to a kind and helpful host who can bring you warmth in the chilling autumn wind in South Korea!

The location is far away from the bus stop to the spots of sokcho si. No restaurant and convenient store nearby.

My boyfriend and I stayed here when we decided to get out of Seoul for a short time. It was a bit chilly at that time of year, and the room was warm, cozy, and exceptionally clean. It is right by the beach in Sokcho and is surrounded by many excellent food options. The owner is very helpful, and their cafe is great. I'd definitely stay here again.

Good reachable by bus from the Expressbusstation (1;1-1;7;7-1;9;9-1 1200Wpp) or Taxi (4200w). Best breakfast we had in guesthouses in Korea. Well equipped kitchen with stove and microwave. Rooms are not the newest but very warm in winter. Price compared with other accommodations in Sokcho is good. The staff is very friendly and helpful they provided us with good hiking and walking tips. We will tay there again!

really value for money easy access from bus station. u can get a taxi to KUMHO Resort. it cost less than 10.000 korea won in my case.. its really good place for family trip i went there with my 2 friends its really enjoyable next morning we went to seoraksan national park by taxi. cost less than 10.000 won, my best experience so far in korea :)

I was in Sokcho during Chuseok and this was a last minute booking. The place was great and the staff very helpful even with the language barrier but this is a hard place to get to without a car/taxi. I came back from hiking the Seoraksan and had to walk all the way to the hotel from where the bus dropped me off in town coz I couldn't find taxis that late. Once I got there I also realized theres not much nearby for food either. Using Papago the friendly hotel staff got me some delivery fried chicken to save the day!!

I have been to Sokcho 3 times. This is the first time I stayed in a guest house instead of a hotel. The location was perfect for me as it sat right in the middle of my trail head I planned to use and Sokcho. Having a car makes it easy but I think there is a bus stop within 15 minutes walk. The atmosphere was great, as you can see from the pictures. Completely different from the typical sights I am used to seeing in Seoul and at the other places I stayed in Sokcho. Breakfast was great but as a typical American my caloric intake is higher than the normal Korean. So without question I could eat more... It starts at 9 so if you are planning an all day hike you may want to skip it. Also on weekends and holidays the short drive to the trail head took some time as most people are slow to get on the road. Leaving early the road is empty and it's only 7km drive. The Staff was very friendly and shared a common interest, hiking. Ask them for advice and between a map, some broken English and broken Korean you will get a good idea what to expect on the trail. The room was perfect for us...by far it was the best value when compared to my other trips. If I plan another trip I have no intention of looking for a place to stay. I simply will stay here.

We enjoyed every much staying with Sokcho Esher Pension House. The room is very big with kitchen. The location is great where we could take only one bus ride to Seoraksan National park. Also walking distance to Express bus terminal. The best thing was that the pension owner recommended us for great local food which is just mins walk from the pension, it's so near to local raw fish market where we had great authentic Sakcho food. The staff is very helpful and we received very warm welcome. We had quality time staying with this pension in Sakcho. If we ever visit Sakcho again, We shall definitely return to Sokcho Esher Pension House :) PS. The room is decorated in pretty nice Korean style.

The location is really good. It was nice to watch the Sunrise over the mountains from the balcony. It was really quiet and the bed was really comfortable. It is, however is an area with several abandoned properties and that gives the place a spooky vibe. Also, the check in is at the Hotel across the street - not necessarily a bad thing, but there is no one manning the front desk at night. I think we may have been one of three rooms booked here on a Saturday night. We came to see the leaves and get some fresh air outside of Seoul, but the property is run down... I've never been to other places there, but it feels as though they are getting ready to tear down all the properties and build something else. $50 bucks may have been a bit too much... If I paid half that I would have felt much better

We came here at the time of super peak season in Korea. We got bumped off by a hotel we booked in another website because they were asking for a 40% price increase. Anyway, we booked here just 5 hours we came. This was so great for its price and seasonality. Probably, the location is a factor for that, however, if you have a car and would take taxis, that shouldn't be a problem. I highly recommend this place for just everyone. This is really the guesthouse type- it has a very homey atmosphere. We traveled as a family, including a 3-year-old boy. The host was really nice to us. He was very approachable and mild-mannered.

My friend and I decided to go this weekend, Oct 19-21. It was peak season for Tanpeung, leaves changing color. Thousands and thousands of visitors, mostly domestic, flooded Seoraksan National Park. We did everything on our list that we wanted to do, plus the Cheoksan Public Bath on the first night. The stay at Hyundai Soo Condominiums was good. It satisfied our needs for a place to sleep. My friend had her own room and I had mine. We were pleased to have a few utensils and cutting board to cut the fruits for our hike at Seoraksan National Park on Saturday and Sunday mornings. There were also a few things we needed and were able to find at the store in the lobby. The beds were comfortable. The TV was also good to have and generally the room was amenable. When we first arrived, we were a little confused because the hotel booking was for Hyundai Soo Resort, but the building signage says Hyundai Soo Condominiums. We went in search of the resort and concluded it was indeed the first building we saw. The door is not a card key but an original door key with a hanger for the lights. On Saturday morning, we wanted to go out and watch the sunrise at the Sunrise lookout place recommended. But on our way out, we saw a family watching the sunrise from the common area, and decided to join them. It was beautiful to watch and perfect for us not to spend more time going out to the sunrise point and driving back to the national park. The proximity of the hotel to Seoraksan National Park is quite good. I would say it was very convenient, in the mid-point between the park and the other sites and places to see in Sokcho. We explored the Abai Village and took the Gaetbae Boat across and back. Also, we found a good restaurant where we ate dinner both nights, 신다신. The 가리국밥 and 오징어순대 were worth it for sure. The location would be difficult to find by yourself if you are unable to speak Korean, hence it would be better to get a taxi to the hotel first. The hotel does not provide Sokcho tourist map in English. However, just walk 5-10min up to Hotel Seorak Park and get a copy of English tourist map. The location is only less than half an hour walk to the Mt Seoraksan, and accessible to the central of Sokcho by 2 buses.
