Love this place and hope to be back!”
Sadly, we arrived two days late to Cookies Salad Hotel thanks to the snow storms in Vancouver. When we arrived, all the annoyance and stress of having been back and forth to airports, sitting on runways, missing connections melted away in what is truly paradise. The family-run hotel is absolutely beautiful, friendly, and luxury without being costly. Our daughter loved the pool and slide, and we all enjoyed hanging out on the beach and the nearby restaurants also. The views are stunning with massages in house on the beach; nice restaurant and great daily breakfast. It's such a chill place. Sadly we had 3 nights instead of 5 because of the travel problems; I think 7 days would be ideal!

Just amazing ”
My wife and I stayed at Cookies Salad for 4 days but ended staying 5 nights due to bad weather and boats canceled. We had the beach house. All I can say is wow what an epic place .. so beautiful, the beach hut was top class and very cheek. The staff are on another level of friendliness and helpful . They make you feel nice from the start. The hotel helped with bike rental and transport needed . Food is really nice and breakfast was also very nice 😊. I can’t wait to stay here again .

Beautiful and the sweetest staff ever”
We stayed at cookies for a few days. Since both of us work during our travel good wifi and calm working spots is important. Cookies provided both, either in the restaurant (with great food, cocktails and breakfast!) with a lovely view or in the working area with the AC. Beautiful place with a lot of slopes and upphill walking to the rooms/bungalows, small cute nocks and new places to discover. Fresh pool and just by the beach. But even if the place is truly alluring, the staff is almost the best part. SOOO friendly, welcoming and relaxed. Their English is great and they make everyone feel like you've stayed here forever. They really seem to be enjoying working here. Nothing is a problem and the guys in the restaurant is the sweetest ever!

Amazing seaside resort!”
The room I got was a great deal for the money I paid. The hotel itself is pretty tucked away from the main road and situated on a hill, so lots of steps and steep roads. My room was clean and comfortable and had an amazing view! The hammock in front was a plus, and the breakfast buffet was lovely. The staff were very friendly and helpful too!

Love this cosy resort!”
Likes: best location overlooking Haad Salad beach. Individual cottages with stunning views. We were upgraded to an amazing sea view room. Rooms were modern and cosy and had all you needed. Pool area is great. Staff are welcoming and helpful. Breakfast was good. Second time we have stayed here and love the place! Dislikes: had some issues with hot water but minor.

I liked the place. First I had a hotelroom which was ok, but you can hear your neighbours quite well. I moved then to a really nice bungalow. The owner is really nice and helpfull. The staff is friendly. The cleaning was good.

nice hotel ”
Hotel is ok, it seems shabby, needs renovation, but still clean. noise isolation was not good - and had very loud neighborhood, couldn't sleep well. with small kids it can be difficult as hotel is on the steep hill. a la carte breakfast was ok, plenty of choices.

Nice Hotel, Average Beach for Swimming”
Cookies Salad Hotel is a quiet, bohemian set of bungalows nestled on a hill at one end of Haad Salad on Koh Phangan. The first thing to understand is that the hill the bungalows sit on is very (very) steep. Those with limited mobility or young children may struggle. It’s a good place to build muscle strength in your legs though. The bungalows themselves are nice, simple, and clean. The hot water in our bathroom was a bit frustrating as it changed from hot to cold no matter the handle position. The TV box didn’t work at all. The bed was a bit hard but still quite comfortable. The highlight for us though was the little private outdoor area we had containing a few couches, small kitchen, and table. Great to hang out there in the morning / evening and enjoy the view of the bay. Just watch out for the mosquitos lurking around. The outside kitchen area is a bit strange as there is a microwave and a big pot but no cutlery, dishes, plates, bowls etc. I asked to borrow some from the restaurant down the hill but was met with an inexplicable no. You get two small free waters each day which is not nearly enough for tropical Thailand and you get charged for extras, so you’ll need to head into the small village down the beach often for supplies. Walk down the beach, hang a right at Salad Beach Resort, cut through, and you’ll get to a few local stores. The beach is dotted with restaurants and bars of various quality (avoid Double Duke, do not avoid Spicy Salad), a small village, a big hill … and that’s about it. You’ll need transport if you want to get up to anything other than this. Another thing to point out is Salad Beach itself. It’s very tidal. At low tide it’s rocky, ankle deep, and not good at all for swimming. At high tide it’s waist deep at best. It’s not an “all day swimming beach” unless the tide timing really works out for you. It’s got stunning sunsets though, particularly if you park up at the north end at the right time. Because of this inswimability during the day

Above average”
We have stayed in two types of rooms in this resort. The first room (the cheaper one) was ok (although it had a torn hammock which was useless). The second (more expensive) bungalow was very bad value for money. The bungalow was old, there were lots of cockroaches in it - and there was no mosquito net above the bed to protect us from them. The terrace was pleasant but there was construction going on right below the bungalow and it was very noisy (from the early morning) so we never sat outside. The curtains in the room did not provide privacy either (lot of people going around just outside). The breakfast wasn't the best - the biggest downside was the small portions for so many guests. Average taste, some dishes were cold. The biggest plus - great coworking space. A very pleasant place to work. I'm sure there are many better options on the island for a similar or even lower price. I wouldn't stay again and wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. The door on the terrace between the two bungalows (stupid idea) were open all the time because of the strong wind. One more reason for not using the tarrace.

Good”
Even the weather was not really permitted, the room itself provided us the pampering. We stayed in the building on the second floor. The view was amazingly surprised our expectation. Location wise, you should rent the motor bike. It’s up on the hill, but we could walk down to the swimming pool and beach directly.
