Beautiful bungalow, but several issues”
Our stay at De Villa was a real mixed bag. The simplicity of the room, cleanliness, collection of antique furniture and decor was gorgeous and unique. In that respect De Villa was by far my favorite place I have stayed. However there were several factors that would prevent our returning. Firstly, it was a bit of a way out of town. We are big walkers, but did not feel especially safe the two times we walked into town (it took about 40 mins). Not one taxi driver we met knew the place, which made fare estimation difficult. It was very hard to hail taxis that far out of town even though the place is on a very busy main road, which leads onto our next major issue: staffing. After check in (where we waited 15 mins at the gate till someone showed up to let us in) we barely saw a staff member the whole time we were there. This meant there was nobody to ask for advice or, more importantly, to call for a taxi. The lady we dealt with was absolutely lovely, just not there. Things came to a head when we went to check out and get our deposit back on the last day. There was nobody around. We asked a bloke painting a mural outside to ring the staff member for us twice, eventually figured out how to ring her ourselves (she hung up) and in the end waited an hour till she arrived back. You do get great privacy, but given out short stay in Malacca the difficulty traveling into town became too frustrating for us to consider returning to De Villa. Props to the owners for their beautiful restoration though.

Nice, Comfortable and Clean Stay in Melaka”
DeVilla is truly a nice & comfortable stay ever in Melaka. Loving the decoration of the Villa! Staff are extremely helpful and friendly. Location is not too far from the town but is accessible to every tourist spot in melaka by car. Strongly recommended! Definitely coming back again

clean and comfortable, perfect place to chill”
We were welcomed at the gate by the hotel manager and were immediately served with cold hand towel and a welcome drink, made from lemon grass, which was quite unique. There were ample parking space in the porch and a nice garden. We were then shown around the place, followed by simple explanations about the history of the place and about the local peranakan culture, which was fairly interesting. The whole place is very clean, including our room and bathroom, the swimming pool and all the common area. It is a very nice place and the staffs were very friendly as well, especially the hotel manager. She gave us a lot of information about places to eat and places to visit. We felt like we were on a vacation in a private villa furnished with antiques, laid back by the private poolside-there is a pool table there as well. We will definitely come back again and recommend this place to all our friends.

Pretty colonial villa”
The building is very pretty, you can really see how it's been well kept and renovated. the rooms are a bit small, not close to the main street, but everything else is good. Taxis in Malacca is expensive, no matter where we go, it's same price, I think we spent on taxis as much as the hotel room. There was no Uber then, hopefully they will come soon

Perfect place for the weekend getaway!”
This place is one of the places that will stay close to my heart. Everything about this place is nice. From facilities to friendly staff. The owner is also a very friendly person. One small flaw was that the swimming pool could have been a bit more cleaner. The place gives you a feeling of home, with the beautiful antiques that were well maintained. And it is also near to most of the attraction places in Melaka. Wished I could stay longer. Definitely going here again!

Nice villa turned hotel, bit far from main city attractions ”
De Villa will prove to be a great place to stay if it felt like a hotel for the price paid. However, it’s antique look and ample space makes it worth a choice. Swimming pool needs chlorine even if not being used frequently and towels and bedsheets have ink/black spots. Attendants (only two for whole place, no one in the night) were quick when requested for service. Male attendant is nice and approachable with good demeanor. If you are looking for somewhere like home (and not a hotel), this place is one of the best choices. You must not wear any shoes etc and bring food in the house!

A hidden gem”
Stayed here with my family for two nights. The villa is basically a converted bungalow with several rooms and a huge pool. Beautifully decorated to embrace Malacca's heritage. Pool is clean. Rooms are comfortable. Good vibes all the way.

Lovely cozy house”
Beautiful cozy house & very friendly staff. The deluxe room size is very big. Loved the pool which is perfect for a morning swim and a dip to cool off from the hot afternoon sun. Cozy living area to chill out at after making our own drinks from the free flow of 3 in 1 coffee and tea station. Secured parking for vehicles and there was even a security guard to take care of the vehicles at night. Some down side...Pillows a bit flat and the Aircon was blowing into our faces. Overall a very nice stay & I'll surely be back.

The manager is well comming when we arrived, the design & style is so impress & superb...the room is very clean & make we feel that we do not wants to back home ...the staff so friendly.. the manager told us about the information about the surrounding is very helpful..we feel our privacy is well protect because the location is not too near with town & not to far from town..we are lucky got the value of money stayed at here...someday,we will stay here again..

Relaxing getaway ”
2nd time here and really loved the relaxing environment. Huge room, beautiful decor and comfortable bed. The pool was definitely a plus point. As we rode up via motorbike, it was great that we could park within a gated compound. Special mention to Emily who was attentive and ensured our stay was comfortable. We will surely be back again.

This place was recommended by fren, at earlier is worry about a previous comment (not so good), but after the stay, I feel is different from the comment. there was a private car park, staff really friendly and helpful, grab car is easy, room and swimming pool very clean, they won’t give u extra towel but they allow to change (I think is reasonable). Though the facilities here not so many (there was a swimming pool, a nice garden, snooker table), but I’m happy to stay like this heritage colonial building which full of antiques and childhood things. Definitely will come back .

A pleasant relaxing stay - best to have own transport, although bicycles were available. Only a small hotel and not always a member of staff around - so need to give advance notice to the hotel re check-in and check-out.

Unique”
The place is overall interesting and unique. Sadly our room's (Riverside 6) mattress and pillows were a bit dusty but apart from that it was ok. -Full of colonial decor (+) -Swimming pool was a plus (+) -Bed was comfy but it's quite high off the ground which is a little concerning if you have a baby with you (the staff did advise of the lack of baby cot) (+-) -Attentive and friendly staff (+) -Privacy was good (+)
