the lobby is bright and full of friendly atmosphere. all staffs welcome anyone with warm smile and are very willing to help. the room here is spacious. and the ambarrukmo plaza shopping mall is just 3 minutes walk from the hotel. the garden is very well maintained. breakfast buffet is really great. they have quite a lot of traditional dishes for breakfast and very good options of western breakfast too. although the spa/massage was not available while i stayed, they offered to give me a free ride with the hotel car to their related hotel for spa/massage. i visited other huge five star hotels in town, such as hyatt and sheraton. this hotel is smaller than those famous hotels and it doens't have exotic outer appearance as hyatt or sheraton has, but the sincere service and extremely comfortable environment are way better than any other attractive tricks. in terms of price, this hotel is really worthy of the money. it is cheaper than most of other five star hotel, and yet it beats them in so many ways. this is indeed the best hotel in yogyakarta, so i will definitely come again if i visit here!

I am on my last day of stay and could not wait to type my review. As a background, I have stayed in various three, four and five stars quality hotel in Indonesia, some for businesses and some for family holiday. I am more critical with hotel quality and services ever since I traveled with my child. Below are the reasons why I couldnt hold to give this property 5 stars review. 1. Top quality services. The staff are amazing! It is rare to see that all of the hotel staff (everywhere, from front desk, room, housekeeping, pool staff, restaurant, I mean everyone). The staff were genuinely friendly, helpful and very responsive. I couldn't find any fault or delay for this. The service is just 5 stars! Room I was in a little bit doubt when I booked the deluxe. To my surprise, the layout, decor and cleanliness is top notch. The bed and linen is very comfy, the space is big with a balcony, u will find most of your need in the room. I got nice coffee machine, tea, minibar and delicious bakpia on the house. They even provide 4 bottles of medium drinking bottle plus 2 small bottle in the room! This is small detail that truly amazed me. One of the things that I hate when I travel is to buy water bottle when I stay at a local hotel. Food Breakfast has so many variety. For Indonesian food, everything is delicious and even better than some of the top local restaurants that I ever visited. What surprised me is I use to hate that section of local cake in top 5 stars hotel. This hotel really delivers top quality Indonesian food and local cake. To my surprise their bakpia taste awesome! I like it more than the famous bakpia I used to buy in Jogja Facilities If you are travelling with kids below 12, this is by far the best hotel for family even compare to the 5 stars hotel I visits in Bali. I absolutely loved my stay! A classy 5-star hotel at very affordable prices. We stayed 3 nights in the premier king room and upgraded to the suite on the last night. The hotel is clean and has an amazing view of Mt Merapi, the city, the sunrise and sunset. I had beautiful views from my room everyday. You get an even better view when you head up to the rooftop pool. The food was delicious too. The buffet breakfast had a perfect variety (not too wide, but also not too small), and the food was great. We also had high tea delivered to the room when we upgraded to the suite, and it was yummy! On the last night, we went up to the Martinique Sky Lounge on the top floor for a dinner date. The lounge has wide glass windows which give you an amazing view of the city. We ordered steaks, which were yummy. The staff were also very friendly, and provided excellent and quick service. Most of them also speak good English, so communication was easy. I'll definitely be back here!

Tips for travelers to Yogyakarta. - get a driver / guide BEFORE COMING HERE (Yogyakarta attractions are far from the city 1h minimum) - there is a supermarket, local food, laundromat, cinema & stuff nearby (ask staff for a map of the area) - safety 5/5 star (I am a 97kg male lifter walked at night 10pm++ alone twice) - if you wear shorts you will probably be labelled a tourist (long pants is a region thing) Remember to have fun. This is our first time stay at this hotel. When we arrived at this hotel, it was almost midnight and in the next morning we already had to check out from this hotel. On this short stay, our experience was good. The room is small but still proper, the hotel staff was friendly, cleanliness was good for both the room and the bathroom, there is a free wi-fi connection and international channels TV cable for your entertainment during the stay, or you can go to the lobby to see a small art exhibition. One thing unique to this hotel is every room has a different decorative paintings, ours was a space theme painting. The location of this hotel is on the outskirt of Jogjakarta City, about 20 minutes to the city center using car on a normal traffic. The price itself is still considered not that expensive for a four star hotel but there are other better options besides this hotel within the same price range.

We booked a Premier One Bedroom Suite with View and stayed for 4 nights. Our arrival was early at around 10am and they were unfortunately full for us to have an early check-in. We have to wait for 5 hours until the official check-in time which was 3pm. The first room that was assigned to us was in the second floor. The view was almost entirely obstructed as it was on a low floor. I expressed my concerns to the check-in counter that if I wanted a normal room I would have just booked a Deluxe. I specially booked the Premier One Bedroom Suite with View for the view and getting the room on the second floor felt that I was shortchanged. Special thanks to the Front Counter Staff, Mr Hendik for successfully arranging the exchange of rooms to the highest one. Please take note to request for a higher floor if you want a good view. Housekeeping was prompt and everything was replaced timely. Breakfast spread was adequate and decent. Swimming pool size were average and there was not much crowd at all times in the pool. Staff were all very friendly and approachable. Special arrangements like transportation were all fulfilled and there was zero hiccups throughout my stay in here Marriott Yogyakarta except for the initial room assignment. Overall stay was excellent and would highly recommend to travellers who wants a convenient hotel which is right beside a mall.

The room was spacious and very clean, the breakfast had a great variety of Western and Indonesian food (juice bar, eggs, cereals and much more). But the best thing about Grand Ambarrukmo was definitely the staff: Extremely friendly, attentive and helpful, they eben made us sandwiches for our flight which was early in the morning so we didn‘t have time for the regular breakfast buffet. Grand Ambarrukmo is located fairly close to the airport but a bit away from Malioboro Street or Prawirotaman. It didn‘t really matter to us because the area was nice and taking a cab is cheap! Would definitely recommend anytime!

This was our second stay at the Victoria, and I was so pleased that the restaurant now has 2 baby chairs, which really made things easier for us! The rooms are nice, the rooms are clean. The pool is nice and they had some fun inflatables for the kids to play with. Also many airplanes flying by within sight which was entertaining for my 3 boys. It's a 6 brisk minute walk to the mall for an adult walking alone. About 20 minutes walking with small kids, ha ha. Breakfast is Indonesian style, but I love it -- lots of fresh vegetables, Indonesia rice buffet, Bubur ayam, fresh fruit, tea and coffee, cereal, and one kind of white bread. My only complaints this time were they would not give me an extra blanket and the wireless isn't so great, especially with more guests in the building on the weekend. Have to sign in to the wireless everytime you want to use your device, and the best signal was in the bathroom.

Overall my stay in Wisma MMUGM hotel was good. Something I disliked was floor was little wet and toilet smell start coming even without using it. Air condition looks not working efficiently and shower head seemed rusted so flow of water was not so good. Overall I liked this hotel. If you don't wanna pay more money then stay at this hotel is best option. :)

Novotel standard is known worldwide. Yogyakarta people are friendly. Novotel Yogyakarta is simply the best hotel service I ever found after staying in various hotels travelling yearly for the last ten years. Location is central to any places and next to the Galleria Mall. Bedroom linen changed daily, bath toiletry items of good quality. Breakfast of wide variety, worthy to mention specially the various bread types and whole grained. The best yet is the staff and personnel who do their best to cater to all guests needs. They offered us to use their umbrella as we went to the Galleria Mall under heavy rain, knowing that we would only return hours later after dinner and shopping.

i travel in groups so i booked 4 rooms but our rooms are not located side by side, the room itself is clean but the size is vary. my friend got more space in his room compares to mine. the rooms numbering is also confusing cause it looks like it was randomly put. the room is nice, the bed is comfortable and the bathroom is clean. i enjoy my stay in this hotel, and might return if i have another chance to visit jogja.

This hotel is beyond my expectation. The interior is beautiful and so instagramable. The room for me is clean, not too spacious but that's ok for me, inside the room also have great vibe, make me want to stay a lil longer. In every hotel cleanliness and bathroom is important for me, in this hotel bathroom is very nice, it has words on the wall, the design and interior also comfy. The staff is great, really helpful. Thank you for that. And i had best chicken porridge breakfast, not so many choices but with that price i get from Agoda is super worthed for us. I definitely will tell to all my friends that when go to Yogyakarta, must stay in this place. I will go back for sure.

I booked 2 rooms plus an extra bed for 5 persons. Both of the rooms are spacious. They are clean, very well designed, and comfortable. The extra bed is also good and comfy. The city view from our rooms are great. The staff are really polite and friendly. They smile a lot and willing to help with our needs. The breakfast was exquisite. You can find food restaurants or stalls nearby the hotel. It is located not far from the city center and attractive places such as Jalan Malioboro, Kraton, etc. Grand Dafam Merapi Merbabu Hotel is simply a true 4-star hotel.

Saya menginap selama 3 malam. Setiap saya request butuh sesuatu, para staf akan menyediakannya dengan segera. AC dan water heater berfungsi dengan baik. Kamar selalu dibersihkan setiap hari. Para staf sangat ramah dan sangat membantu. Bahkan saat bantal saya tertinggal, mas Andi dengan sangat baik mengirimkan bantal tersebut melalui paket (Terima kasih banyak ya mas Andi). Lokasi hotel pun sangat strategis. Yang utama adalah, di hotel ini ada lobby yang cukup luas di lantai 2 sehingga sangat nyaman untuk rendezvous dengan kerabat. Fasilitas pun sangat lengkap, tersedia pula massage and spa, sayang sekali kami tidak memiliki waktu yang cukup untuk mencobanya. Menu breakfast pun cukup bervariasi. Sebagai masukan: akan lebih baik jika di dalam kamar mandi disediakan tirai agar air dari shower tidak menyebabkan becek dan membuat lantai licin sehingga berisiko jatuh untuk anak2 dan lansia. I would rate my stay as 5/5. I got a promo and it's pretty cheap for a 4 star hotel, it was only Rp 420.000 including breakfast. The staffs were nice, room was clean and the food tastes pretty good. Pretty strategic bc the hotel is located near Universitas Gadjah Mada and Hartono Mall. Also located near street food vendors, couple of restaurants and a minimarket. Definitely would go again 10/10 :)

I stay for 2D1N in this hotel with my family, the staffs are very friendly..they always greet us with smile. The room is clean and the bed is comfortable. The bathroom is a little bit small (no bathub) but clean enough. The breakfast is also good, it's buffet breakfast, but don't expect 5 stars hotel menu here. The environment is very good, you can walk around or you can rent bicycle in the hotel. If you go there on sunday, there will be a local morning market that worth to go, heaps of foods, many of cheap stuffs. The only thing I don't really like about this hotel is they don't have elevator, but there will be a staff that will help you bring your bags.

The Puri Artha was a pleasant place to stay. The staff were very accommodating. The dining room is nice and the breakfast buffet is good. What I liked best about about the Puri Artha is that the hotel has maintained the atmosphere of pre-boom Yogyakarta, the place that I remember fondly from my younger days. The hotel has minor shortcomings, as would any older 3-star hotel, but nothing that would impede me from re-booking for my next visit.

The Yellow Star Gejayan is a great hotel, particularly if you are having meetings at UGM, Sanata Dharma or any of the other universities nearby. The room is neat and clean although the sitting space for the table is nearly non-existent as I was sitting on the bed to work on the table rather than on the provided chair; the bathroom was sufficiently spacious and clean with no strange smells or moldy stains. The room service was so-so, you would be more entertained by eating at the rooftop bar than in your room. One big problem I faced was an extremely unstable wifi internet connection. It was so bad I had to use my mobile data hotspot for most of my stay in Yellow Star. Apart from that my stay was great and I will be coming back again in the near future.

This hotel was very very nice. The people were all very friendly and the room was just huge with a huge and modern bathroom facility. It was the first room I stayed in during my Java trip that had Western TV; CNN on a new flat screen TV. The bed was great and a nice little sitting area for my visitors. The included breakfast was the best of any hotel that I stayed at in Java, a much wider variety of items than I had grown accustomed to. They had outdoor entertainment one night (karaoke) that was fun too, they also projected movies onto a large wall.

We really enjoy staying 2 nights at Puri Chorus Hotel :). We booked Business Class. The room (both bedroom and bathroom) is really spacious and clean as well. Only, we feel that the room lighting is not that bright when we need to open our laptop in the room or to read maybe. The breakfast is not bad, but maybe they need to give more variation as the 1st and 2nd breakfast we get the same menu : rice and fried chicken, although the taste is not that bad at all. The location is very strategic too! We reccommend you to stay here, and when we come to Jogja again, we definitely put Puri Chorus Hotel in the 1st place :). Thank you Puri Chorus..

Lovely little place to stay, big and very comfortable room, very helpful and friendly staff who woke up at 3am to help me with a few things which was hugely appreciated! Location is good, plenty of restaurants, a laundry shop, and two convenience stores nearby. Also some street food. It's a long way from the tourist attractions and the tourist hangout spots, but getting a taxi is cheap and easy. Taxi drivers in Yogyakarta are very honest and friendly. I did get woken up at 4am by the mosques, but I think that's common in Yogyakarta.

We're very enjoying to have a stay in this hotel. First thought that this was a standard hotel with limited facilities, but I've been so wrong. Although this hotel was not rated with stars yet, but it already provides the necessary services just like a starred hotel. The room is equipped with bathtub and shower (with hot water available), a LED tv with 30+ international channels, a very comfy spring bed (with two pillows and bolsters), a water heater, a refrigerator (empty one), large wardrobe, two padded chairs, and there's a balcon too (for Deluxe Room only). A lot of parking space, a restaurant that opens until midnight, quiet surrounding, a there's a line of food stalls along the road of Cik Di Tiro (you might need walking there less than five minutes). The location is moderately close to many Yogyakarta's attraction sites, from Tugu, Malioboro, Keraton, Jalan Reksabayan, Jalan Janti, Jalan Solo, and so on. It will take approximately 15-25 minutes from the airport to this hotel, or vice versa, depending the traffic.

We love it here. I booked 4 rooms for my crews while we’re having events in jogjakarta. We felt like home instantly. Until the part that we stay in the restaurant in our pijamas chatting with the staff. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We brought a lor of stuff with us and they helped us instantly. The chef made sayur asem that was one of the best is there. We really enjoyed our long stay there.

First, a bit difficult to find the hotel since the map shows wrong location. After calling the hotel crews, we got the clue.The location is closer to Nort Ring Road. Strange hotel layout (guest room on left side, while the right side is empty..or will become function hall). BUT...this hotel is brand new, the room & bathroom are very clean, flatscreen TV and wardrobe. The interior is chick, simple, comfy. No toileteries, need to pay IDR 5rb for towel, but they hv convient store beside the receptionist. Indomaret store is across the hotel. Enough parking space or u can find ojek nearby. 3 staff ignored me when I wanna check in (while there's no other guess). The response from hotel staff when I check in was very very slow. They gave me key a bit faster after I sclod them. But overall...I like staying in this hotel. Coz the point is, I need cozy place to take a rest after tiring day of exploring Yogya.

Stay for 3 days 2 nights, booked for 3 room of double bed. Wifi is great as it is available in every section of hotel. Staff is helpful and friendly. Location is close to the Jogja city centre, and shopping area tho. However, we have an issues about room. each room have a different size, as out of 3 booking room , only 2 is spacious , but another 1 is small, and little bit cramped. A limited lighting make room looked mysterious . Toilet is lacking with odor trap which tend to make room smelly abit. They do not providing a dining coffee set area too. Overall, sure will come again due to the hotel location. Thanks!
