This Hotel is Currently being Renovated but we did not experience any noise or problems while we were there. Hotel is in District 5 and the main 2 Districts for Westerners is District 1 and District 5 . We found the room very Comfy and clean also quite large (9th Floor). Breakfast was very adequate and could not dislike anything. This Hotel has a Supermarket attached to it , also has a very large Market style shopping centre attached to it where you can by all the thing you like from Jewelery to Shoes to Clothes to Watches. There is a free shuttle bus which runs every hour from 7am till 11 pm and has 3 drop off/Pick up points in District 1. We utilized this service quite regularly and found it great. Staff are very friendly and very helpful . Would definitely stay there again on next visit to Vietnam..

The Equatorial is a beautiful 5 Star (and worth all the stars!) Hotel, located on the outskirts of Chinatown in District 5, close to the central District 1. There is a free minibus shuttle service into the heart of Saigon every other hour. This is a large hotel, but the layout and staff make the hotel seem to have a very personal feel - and they remember your name and make every effort to assist you. The swimming pool is a welcome relief to the heat of Saigon, and we were able to relax there every day on the loungers. The rooms were excellent with all the trimmings you would expect from a hotel of this standard. The buffet breakfast was incredible - a veritable feast! Many a course of very tasty fresh food for all tastes. On a final note - we had a couple of incidents where I left my camera behind in the dining room, and my Dad left his wallet in a taxi - and the staff were so helpful, both items returned untouched to the rightful owners! They even offered a basket of fruit to us as my parents were upset at the missing wallet and made every effort to re-assure them and retrieve the items. And finally (again) - even though the internet is a paid for option, they give you a free cup of coffee and you have the use of a brand new Apple Mac with a huge screen, equates to approx a dollar an hour! Well worth it ...

There is a stupid cock nearby that starts cuckolding at 0530hrs and goes through till at least 11am, unless of course you sleep with ear plugs...

Located in district 5, just a bit far from district 1,but taxi only cost around $2 USD, make sure you take the "Vinasun" taxi, I got ripped off by other taxi company. Massage is good from this hotel.

I can highly recommend the "Valantine" Hotel. It's brand new, so only the first 4 floor are operating (spa and floors 5-8 will come later in 2 months). The satff is very attentive and helpful but only one or two speak English sufficiently. Not everyone might want to stay in District 5, which is about 3 kilometers from the city center. However, I liked the neighborhood, which is void of tourists. Overall, the 25 bucks I paid per night were well spend, even though breakfast wasn't included since I had booked with Agoda. The hotel is in excellent condition: waterfall shower, interesting light arrangements, etc. Laundry is slightly overpriced but there aren't any other options in the vicinity.

We had two rooms side by side for 4 people. All the staff were so friendly and helpful. Every time we needed VND ,we just went to the desk to exchange money. Very convenient.there are safety box by the desk for us to keep our valuable items. The breakfast was very good.Room was clean except the dust under the bed needs to be vucuumed. The location is good. We took a bus to Ben Thanh market or just walked to AN Dong market. There were a lot of places to shop in dist 5. Butif you plan to shop, don't go in Lunar new year. Stores and market are closed. Because of Chinese or Vietnamese New Year,we had an invitation from the hotel to attend their New Year party on new year eve. All the guests were invited to a restaurant across from the hotel. We were told that it was their tradition and it was a way to celebrate their big holidays with guests. All the staff came to greet their guests and cheer with wine. The free dinner buffet was amazing, a lot of choices with free wine, beer, and drinks. We felt like celebrating the new year at home. We will highly recommend this hotel to friends and we will definitely stay there again next time.

We stayed in this hotel to be near friends living in HCMC. Not an ideal hotel for tourist but it was very clean, it was in District 5 and tourist need to stay in District 1. There was nothing wrong with this hotel other than its location.

You are in Chinatown so it's less touristy than district 1. The management prohibits foreigners staying with Vietnamese nationals staying in the same room. However, they don't state that in the hotel policies in Agoda's listing. They tried to make me book a second room, but did not let them jerk me around so they found a workaround. I had to be thick skinned though. I booked the Deluxe room which was advertised as 33 square meters with City View. They at first tried to give me a room that was 19 square meters, but I insisted that the room I booked was supposed to be larger. Then they gave me a room that was 25 square meters, but no view. The windows look at a wall. They said they didn't have anymore rooms with windows, so I accepted it. The bathroom had no hot water so I had to take a cold shower. My devices couldn't join the wifi for some reasons so I just ran a long ethernet cable to their administrative offices down the hall. I had to tape it up properly so that that no one would trip. After resting for the afternoon, I noticed that the bedsheet was too small for the bed. The bedsheet only ran down 80 percent of the mattress, leaving the rest of the mattress exposed. I told the reception and they made the bed again with the appropriate sheets. This hotel is more of an entertainment complex for men. There's a karaoke hostess nightclub and happy ending massage parlor attached. Good for single guys and traveling businessmen, but not couples or family. Room Tip: If you booked one of the larger rooms, don't let them try to give you a smaller room.

Good service, from front floor to the security guard. Everyone is friendly and helpful. Manager Mr Huang is a very experienced person from service field. He knows how to serve customer. I stay here because I have some business at An Dong Plaza and meeting friends in china town. a bit far away from district one. but things selling here is cheaper than there. Nearby attraction, Shopping for clothes and bags at Cho Binh Tay and An dong Plaza. SPA and buffet dinner at windsor hotel.

Good Location, as you only need 10 mins of taxi ride to district 1. Great for couples on holiday with a big bath tub in the Fantasy room!!

all of the staff members could speak chinese which was very convinient and the service and location was very good, i highly recomment this hotel. the rooms were very clean and the breakfast was the best i've had in a long time.

Stayed in Mario Hotel for 4 nights, great location in the middle of District 5. Lots to explore and eat around the area. Walk towards Nguyen Trai street in the evening and you will find many shops and famous eateries that open till late. Bus 01 that ply between Cho Lon and Ben Thanh stops very near the hotel. Room amenities are very basic, there is no in room safe box and no free bottled water. Mini bar fridge is well stocked but I choose to purchase from the Circle-K convenient store around the corner. Staff are super friendly and breakfast (non buffet, choose from menu) is tasty. Will stay here again !

5 minute walk to Andong Market. Hotel is also near (5 blocks from hotel) convenience stores and pharmacy. 20-30 mins taxi drive going to Ben Thanh Market or Saigon Square and it will cost you less than 3 US Dollars, more or less 60,000 VND. Daily breakfast was served but not as buffet and you have to walk 4-5 blocks from the hotel in which their restaurant is located. Staff were courteous and very accommodating though language is a barrier we still manage to understand each other. Room is clean and bed is comfortable. WIFI VERY MUCH OKAY.

We expect that we will not get a very appealing hotel because this is a 2 star hotel. Only thing we don't like the Cockroach. It's a lot actually because the building is somehow old but... because the staff and is very nice, accommodating, easy to talk and very approachable. We re all satisfied and if we will have a chance to go back in Vietnam located in District 5. we will still choose Tan Da Hotel. Thank you for making our 1st visit in Vietnam more comfortable from room 104, 103, 102, 101 and 403.

we arrived around 1am in the morning, found receptionist and guard asleep in the what is supposed to be a lobby. we booked for 2 rooms but was told that there is only one room. the other room would have to be in the nearby phuoc loc tho 1 for the night and will be transferred back to the originally booked hotel the following day. it was difficult to communicate as they hardly speak english (found out during our stay that very few people speak english in vietnam) i woke up in the morning to the sound of ambulance siren, and later found myself counting how many will pass by during the day (it peaked to 5 ambulances in one day, i just wonder what kind of accident/s or illness those people got into). i happened to like the room i got (phuoc loc tho 1)and decided not to transfer. it was big enough for 2 beds, with flat screen, with cute little lamps (aside from effective lighting), big bathrooms. what tops it is housekeeping services... they hardly speak english, but they make sure to clean the room well, they have fluffy, clean and nice smelling towels. package includes breakfast, and what a breakfast! love their noodle soup!

This hotel is in Chine town. But a bit far from Benh Tay market. About 1km. It took about 20 mins to walk from Hotel to Benh tay market. But you can opt to take the Taxi (Vinasun) which cost about 20,000 and it is cheap. You need to walk about 5 to 10 mins to get chinese restaurant. Overall, the living standard in ChinaTown is lower can City Center. Most of the thing sell in Ben Tanh Market can be found with cheaper price in ChinaToen's Ben Tay masrket. But it is a whole-sale area where people are busy and very crowded.

I used to stay in district where it is more for tourists attraction and things are generally more expensive. District 5 is more like a China town and there isn't many tourists here. Things are generally cheaper, for example, a pork chop rice cost 30,000 dong in district 1 and the same cost 20,000 dong in China town. There are many Chinese restaurant nearby and food taste very good. If you are vegetarian, it will be good because there are many vegetarian restaurant nearby. I walk about 15 minutes to the popular market ChoLon. The place is more like a distributor and you will see many people getting their stocks there and sell in their shops. With such pricing, good location and helpful staff, there is nothing I can comment. Highly recommended. I will stay there when i go to Vietnam again.

Pricelist for room services are not updated. It will be a surprise upon your check out. Mostly with noisy corridors at night from other big group travelers. Even late at night, not even only a time, some other groups would bell on your door or even bang on your door not knowing or mistakenly thinks someone in the room is part of their group.

Really nice rooms in District 5. Close to shops, great location, not ridiculously like D1 over flowing with backpackers. Great chilled out friendly staff.

Hotel dosyć dobry, położony w chińskiej dzielnicy. Duży supermarket naprzeciwko. Bez fajerwerków, ale na krótki pobyt absolutnie wystarczający standard. Bez śniadania, a jedzenie w hotelowej restauracji nie powala. Z częścią personelu trudno było się dogadać, bo angielsku. Ale gdybyśmy mieli jeszcze raz zatrzymać się tam, na pewno zrobilibyśmy to.

Comfy bed, nice staff, perfect location if you want to stay in District 5. The rooms smell a little like smoke, but if you don't mind that, it's a great value. I stay here every time I need a short-term place to stay.

I booked this hotel because it was near my girlfriend's friend's place. I wasn't expecting much. I only wanted it to be clean so I could rest well. But the room, the linens smelled cigarette to which I was sensitive with. Travelling is already stressful for me but this added to my stress. I couldn't sleep well for two nights. And the restroom smelled awful. The place is quite old. But that wasn't my problem. I wish they could at least clean it well. I have to note though that the staff were very accommodating. It seemed like a family-owned business. The guy was especially very helpful in guiding us when we were booking grab rides.

A awesome apartment tuck in between the hustle and bustle of daily lives in D5. A good place to chill , cook and have friends over for some beers. Rooms and toilets are clean. A supermarket is just behind to buy stuffs to cook. Definitely will stay here again if have the chance. Host Misa was friendly , helpful and thoughtful.

Agoda and apartment staff resolve check in issues quickly. Receptionist is friendly and helpful. Cleaning staff cleans the kitchen and entire apartment diligently. They are willing to help with usage of washing machines and ironing facilities. The main entrance is closed by 10.30 pm but the garage is manned 24 hrs, so returning late is not a problem. There are also card access at the lift. At the lower floors are a beauty school, so there are many young girls coming in to study in the morning, the students are polite and if anyone is interested, they are willing to practice hair cutting, washing, coloring, nail polishing etc on guests for a very very small fee. Overall it is a very good stay and I had a good interaction with the staff and students. I enjoyed the hair washing done by the students. At night, the aparment is quiet for a good sleep.
