Dead area, worn out hotel.”
Area around the hotel have nothing to offer (but to its defence, the town itself doesnt offer much). Booked a ha long bay tour thru the hotel which showed itself to be twice as expensive compared to what the other people on the boat paid.

Underwhelming experience”
i arrived in halong on a local bus coming from ninh binh. the journey was fine but i got left off next to an on-ramp to the dual carriageway just before the bridge that connects both sides of the city. note i said on-ramp. this minor piece of information left my moto driver unperturbed. he decided the on should become an off and decide to meet the oncoming single lane of traffic head on, and at decent speed. i was not provided with a helmet. but to his credit he managed to keep the the bike upright after swerving out of the way of an suv and the subsequent pillar. a feat of impressive body strength and co-ordination considering the 85 kilo irishman and 30 kg of luggage 'aboard' i parted ways after we reached the next road. me with a taxi and he with $1, $4 dollars than the agreed fare. the entity hotel is reminiscent of a once beautiful actress whose looks had faded. the room was huge and generally comfortable but had loads of little imperfections. the hotels greatest problem is its staff. nobody speaks english and nobody seems to give much. there are certainly better value options on the seafront.

Nice and cheap hotel”
The hotel is 5 minutes walk from the city center, so the location is quiet. The rooms are clean and big, the staff is friendly, but there is a problem with communication, since most of the staff does not speak English. Drinks in the hotel is affordable, internet works without problems. Warning: On the coastal road, always check the price before you order or buy anything, because you otherwise, always trying to cheat.

Lovely Hotel”
Superb hotel with extremely helpful and friendly staff. Rooms are very spacious clean. Bathroom had all the necessities, such as tooth paste, brushes, soap, shampoo hair dryer, hot water everything one needs. Towels, hangers all were available. We could even change the room to be closer to the other members of the group and to have room with a beautiful view. We had to visit the Halong Bay and they even help us in booking and keeping the luggage with no fee. Wi-fi was available, but since we did not have a lap top it was a bit difficult though they offered their main computer. The Breakfast was the same every day. Location is OK.

A Hotel that meets our requirements”
We are a party of 5. We arrived in Hanoi late evening and we slept there. We had our day tour in Hanoi and at 4pm we took the car we rented from Vietnam Airport Transfers to Halong,a pre arranged booking. We arrived Halong 9 pm and we were greeted by helpful staff. The hotel is all we can ask for for the value of money we paid. We were satisfied and our regret is that we had to stay there only for 1 night. The next day we went back to Hanoi.

Big clean room was good to have rest. Staff is nice, but speaks not much english - however at the end they understood what I wanted. Both european and vietnamese breakfast was available, that is good! Air conditioning, and wifi was working good. Clean bedlinen. The bathroom is not very nice but clean. Really good for its price.

Halong bay nice to ride around ”
I wouldn't say halong bay has a lot to do other than seeing the islands. The hotel was okay and having a bike meant that the location was never a problem. The staff was great and very helpful for us. We went to hue to same the famous bun bo hue and decided that this hotel has the best version in just the pho.

Spacious clean rooms at good prices”
The hotel is within walking distance of the very city center, even if it's located up on the hillside. The rooms are clean and spacious, but rather simple. The staff is helpful, but they don't speak much English. WiFi and Google translator made some tricks for us ...

We just stayed overnight in Halong. We arrived late and the staff were very helpful and accommodating. The hotel is very nice. It made our stay in Halong City very enjoyable.

Quiet comfortable hotel, nice room, good breakfast”
Staff have little English but friendly & helpful. We managed. Mini Mart shopping nearby and cold beer at the roadside shops. Adequate restaurants within walking distance. Taxis readily available and not expensive. Abundance of tours of Halong Bay available at competetive prices.

Hotel was ok”
I was a little disappointed in Halong City as a tourist destination, maybe because I had just been on a beautiful junk boat for 4 days. The weather was bad when we got to hotel so that didn't hep either. The hotel was a little outdated in its furnishings and it was a bit of a walk to get to restaurants. Overall the hotel was satisfactory.

Nice location, getting a bit old”
nice hotel, ok, view in the sea-facing rooms, though a few big buildings in the way. the shower was just a curtain and a shower head, so water everywhere. the furniture is starting to look a bit dated, but everything was clean. we were the only ones in the hotel, i think hanlong city is a bit of a ghost town for tourist these days, most people sleep on a boat on an overnight halong bay trip i guess.

The lady at the front desk was so lovely and helpful. The room was clean but dated , the air conditioning didn’t work and when we plugged the kettle in a defect in the power wire almost caused an electrical fire. The beds were soooo uncomfortable, I had two spare duvets on top of the mattress and my hip bones still dug into the bed uncomfortably.
