A hidden gem in Nha Trang”

I truly enjoyed my stay at Golden Dragon hotel. Tucked away in a side alley right next to the hospital in Nha Trang, the hotel is still right in the center of the main tourist area but is very calm at night. The Sailing Club is just down the main street, probably a 5 minute walk. The gorgeous manager did everything to make my stay pleasant and I was always greeted with a full hearted and honestly happy smile, something that I truly missed after travelling Vietnam for three weeks. She booked an island boat trip for USD7,- which was the funniest day trip I had during my stay. I initially booked only one night and then extended for a second night as I felt safe and comfortable in this adorable hotel. The hotel seems to be brand new and it sparkles of cleanliness. The mattress in my double room was very firm which was a real treat after three weeks of budget travelling. The only draw back was walking back alone 70 meters along a dark alley from the main street late at night. Nha Trang is safer than many other towns and I didn't get hassled or threatened once. Also in difference to many other hotels in Vietnam, the Golden Dragon did not lock up the main doors at night but had staff attending the reception. The hotel has a pool on the 4th floor where there is also the breakfast room. Overall I highly recommend this hotel!

best deal in Nha Trang”

rooms were clean, breakfast good, location as said 2 minutes to beach. it is off the main drag a block so no noise. price was very good on our room. we will stay there when in nha trang next time. also internet was good. staff most helpful thankyou all at the golden dragon for womderful stay. oanh you are a golden asset to your hotel see you again soon.

Great little Hotel ”

Taxi driver tried 3-4 other hotels before we could get through to him that it was Golden Dragon. Tucked away down a lane way it was very quiet (now the airport has moved out of town) Nice & close to a few restaurants so no effort to get out & about. Very cheap prices in the area for massages, hair cuts, manicures etc & very reasonable priced food. The hotel staff were so friendly & they went out of their way to ensure we had everything we needed. We hired a motorbike that was so bad, the owner of the hotel swapped it over with his so we were able to get around for the day. He also took us on a city tour for 3 hours which was great. The room was very spacious, we were upgraded due to building out the other side. Everything was just as we expected & more.

In general, we were very pleased to stay at Golden Dragon. The staff is very helpful and friendly. I have feeling like being welcomed as at home.The location of the hotel is good as they give very calm and quiet surrounding with nice view from the 4th floor with swimming pool. This hotel is more suitable for tourists who visit Nha Trang for the weekend with family or friends but not for business person. Hoever they have good access to the internet. The room was clean and tidy however the aircondition did not work quite well. There was very bas smell from the bathroom that we thought the hotel should improve the sewage system. But we will comeback to the hotel again for next time when we visit Nha Trang.

Great location and value for money”

The hotel is in a quiet lane towards the southern end of the beach. Away from the noise, but close enough to all the action. A few minutes walk to the beach, where the Louisiana Bar charges $2 for a sunbed regardless of whether you stay for an hour or all day. Air con worked well, wifi not so good. We changed rooms from level 3 to level 5 mid-stay and whilst our second room was slightly smaller, it was much brighter and had a lovely outlook over the mountain range behind the town. The cleaners forgot to clean our room the first day and didn't leave any towels the second day, then forgot the bin on the third, but overall the room was kept clean. As mentioned in other reviews, you'll need to ask for a thermos if you want hot water as there are no kettles in the rooms. Wan, the lady in front desk was lovely - very friendly, very helpful and nothing was too much of a bother for her. Very good value for money as far as location and a room in a beachside resort goes - would stay there again if I end up back in Nha Trang.

Nice, basic hotel with friendly staff”

my wife and i stayed at the golden dragon hotel for 1 night over the vietnam may holiday long-weekend. the staff were very friendly right from check-which was welcome after our 12-hour bus journey from saigon. we stayed in a 'standard' double room which was fairly basic but was clean and had a nice bathroom with a good shower. although we has an external window (which not all the rooms have) the view was of a building site which thankfully was not in operation over the holiday weekend). we had no real complains about the hotel as this is the type of budget place we usually for but the price we paid was excessive. living in vietnam we know what you can get for your money and this was definitely not worth the price we paid. that said it seems the same room is now around $20 which implies we may have paid a premium for the time we went. breakfast was ok but nothing spectacular (bread, eggs, pho etc). overall we liked the hotel and it's location away from the craziness of nha trang and would stay there again

Exceptionally helpful staff, and very quiet”

we had a couple of nights here and were very impressed. our room was clean, comfortable and had constant hot water, which was a relief after some of the rooms we've stayed in recently, and because it is off the main road, it was exceptionally quiet - something we've not often got in asia so far in large towns or cities. they have a pool on the 4th floor which was clean, albeit small, and you have breakfast there if you want. but the thing that made it so special were the staff, and in particular a lady called wan (not sure if that is the correct spelling). every member of staff smiled all the time and nothing was too much trouble for any of them. for the cost, this was exceptionally good and we would definitely stay there again should we return to nha trang.

excellent hotel and wonderful caring, helpful staff make this hotel my best recommendation while travelling north to south of vietnam - highly recommended and nha trang is a great town with wonderful local people. i will definitely return when returning to 'nam

Golden Dragon Hotel Review”

We stayed at the Golden Dragon Hotel for 5 days when visiting Nha Trang. It is conveniently located in the heart of the city, not far from the beach in a back street. This family run hotel offered amazing service and all the staff were very friendly. They had a kitchen room on one of the top floors where we had breakfast every morning, with amazing views.

The Golden Dragon”

The golden dragon on located on a quiet side street. It is walking distance to the beach and most of the popular nightspots in Nah Trang. The staff were more than willing to go out of there way for me. The rooms were clean and I was able to easily use the wifi. All services were provided. AC, internet in the foyer, tours could be arranged and they even have a pool. Next time I'm in Nah Trang, I'll return to The Golden Dragon.

Very friendly staff, pool on the roof”

The golden Dragon hotel is a conveniently located hotel 5 min away from the beach promenande at southern end of the town. The room standards vary greatly, some have balconies, others not even windows, some have bathtubs, others not even a shower curtain. bed covers were stained but the staff very helpful and friendly.

Very good hotel ”

Na trang Very good stay, the booking was easy at the reception, the lift was handy to go up, the reception staff her English was good , the room was clean, with air con, TV cable on English and French, fridge in the room, well fully furnished, the bed comfortable the shower had a great pressure, but hard to get very hot water, every days you can ask for a hot water thermos bottle to have your tea or coffee , there is no breakfast nor breakfast facilities. In the overall yes the hotel is worth the price,I will recommend it.

Cheap and decent with good service”

friendly hotel staff who knew exactly where my friend and me came from, which made a difference. simple but decent free breakfast with a smile. staff offered to book a cab to the airport for us for a discounted price of 250k dong. using the meter would have cost twice as much! pretty good location with just a 5 mins walk away from the main nha trang beach.

Decent quiet rooms”

We enjoyed our stay at the Golden Dragon hotel - it was a bit difficult to find at first (turn left down alley right next to the Hospital). Short walk from the beach and main backpacker streets. The hotel was very quiet - we felt like we were one of the only guests there. Breakfast not included when we booked, so got breakfast round the corner at a cafe for a fraction of the price. Rooftop pool and area was nice, but we did not use during our stay.

A nice hotel hidden in a little back street.”

my husband and myself found this hotel to be very suitable as it ưas close to all amenitíe - eg shops restâurants, bars and the beach. because it ưas in a little back street it ưas nice and peaceful at night. the room ưas very spacious but ưe had a superior room ưith a double and single bed. the sưimming pool is small but ưe had it to ourselves the duration of our stay so it ưas good but you could not have a big crowd around the sưimming pool area as it ưould be tô cláutrophobic. if i ưêre to go back to nha trang ưould definitely stay at this hotel again.

Nice to have the pool”

Nha Trang beach was woeful and very polluted so the pool at Golden Dragon was very welcome. The bedrooms were basic but had a fridge. The curtains blocked out hardly any light so having a lie in was difficult. Short walk to town centre and some nice restaurants, we recommend Lanterns. Staff were not rude at all but were the exact opposite of proactively helpful. We were allowed to check in early which was nice.

Cheap hotel with pool, a few minutes walk from main section of town”

We booked the Golden Dragon because it was cheap, had a pool and was close to the main drag without being in it. Also, good aircon. The pool was on the rooftop - we had one very nice swim while we visited. Other times we went to use it and it was full of a large family (small pool!) and other time it was dark, and we can't use the pool after dark. Turns out. When we did use the pool, it was fairly chilly - kept in the shade under a roof. A good swim none-the-less, and we got a private place to lounge in the sun (sunburns included free). The receptionist was accommodating... and I did have to keep going down to talk to her about the wi-fi... which didn't last for more than about 20 at a time. If we were lucky. Shoddy and networks kept breaking. The bathroom was a little dusty - maybe construction nearby and windows open? Also, badly designed. The ceiling of the bathroom was water-logged and kept dripping. At night we could hear a constant patter of something dripping and hitting another loud thing. Pretty sure the pool was leaking... So, we'd stay there again for the cheap pool, but not for the wifi or bathroom facilities!

Basic & quiet location with rooftop pool”

We had a very pleasant stay here, the location was ideal for a good nights sleep and quick, easy access to central restaurants, bars,and beach. The rooms where a good size, clean and had everything you needed. The reception staff were excellent. There is no catering at the Golden Dragon, which doesn't matter due to the short walk to many restaurants, but has a nice rooftop to relax on with a small pool with nice views.

A Lovely Hotel and Friendly Staff”

This is a very nice hotel. The room had a tv, fridge, airconditioning and fan. a very comfortable double bed. The room was cleaned well every day. Bathroom was very clean, with toiletries, and it has an actual shower unit with sliding doors, rather than just a shower over the floor which we found in a lot of other hotels. Hot shower with good water pressure. An elevator and good wifi connection. The breakfast in the morning was adequate, the Vietnamese coffee was delicious. The location of the hotel is down a dusty alley, a bit hard to find the hotel on our first night, but it is in a good location considering it is very near to the beach and all the bars and restaurants. There is a military airport beside the hotel, but we didn't hear any noise from the planes. Very peaceful. There is a rooftop pool with a few comfortable lounge chairs and we had the area all to ourselves everyday, it was great. The staff were really lovely, they really looked after us. They gave us a bag of food and water to take with us on the day we were checking out and heading for the train, it was a lovely surprise. They waved us off like we were part of the family. We really enjoyed our stay there.
