Grand and central ”
Lovely big old (but renovated) hotel in city centre. Some slight noise from doors closing and old plumbing but otherwise first class comfort.

A most pleasant stay.”
Stayed in this old world hotel for four nights during the Celtic Connections music festival, having gotten a good price online. It was a perfect location, right in the city centre and convenient to many of the city's attractions. Fine big single room and a huge en suite bathroom with a great shower. The view was of the grimy roof of the adjoining railway station but I didn't mind that a bit. Self-service carvery-style breakfast was a bit surprising in a four star hotel but it was good and you could eat all you wanted. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. One of the young receptionists even went out onto the street to show me where my bus stop was. I would definitely recommend the Grand Central Glasgow to anyone.

great hotel in good location”
the grand central is located right in the centre of glasgow and is easy to reach. arriving there by bus directly from the airport took around 20-25 minutes. hotel itself is very spacious, with large rooms, comfortable beds, good friendly service - can't really fault it. only downside for me personally is that being based on top of the station, it can be a little bit noisy in the bedrooms trying to sleep with the trains. double glazing helps a lot though.

Second Visit to The Grand Central”
The was my second visit to the Grand Central Hotel and it was as pleasurable as my first stay at the hotel. I managed to obtain a Twin Room at a reduced rate which ensured the room was without doubt Value For Money. The location of the hotel next door to the Grand Central Railway Station and situated in the middle of the city means that the hotel is situated in a prime position. The cleanliness, staff and facilities on offer all warrant a 5***** rating. The two facilities/services that would benefit from a price review are the charges levied for room service and breakfast which in my opinion are overpriced. I do not like to select individuals for reward or criticism but on this occasion I would like to say a special thank you to the concierge on duty on the day of my departure; he was extremely helpful polite and professional carrying out his range of duties and was a fine ambassador for the hotel. I will stay at the hotel again at some time in the future.

Grand central so central”
I booked this hotel on hotels combined as it was offering rooms cheaper than Hilton ,Mercure doubletree etc. I had what to expect. Check in staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel itself is a grand old dame with the feel of what railway travel hotels were like way back when !,,, The rooms are large and very comfortable and very tastefully decorated. I normally like a decent shower and this hotel s was tops.. The hotel is close to everthing , right in the centre, close to nightlife train station subway and great restaurants. The lifts can be slow when busy and the corridors are long so check you have everything before you leave your room otherwise it’s a long walk back. I Loved this hotel , a great place to stay in Glasgow.

Massive rooms”
We stayed for one night on a shopping, cultural trip. Perfect location, came straight off the train and into the hotel,we were able to get into the room even though we were several hours early. It’s a stunning big old hotel, little shabby in places but overall the room was great. Liked the White Company products. Room was massive, the size of it felt luxurious. Right in the centre of Glasgow, everything easy to get to. My only gripe was the soundproofing or lack of? No idea what was happening upstairs but kept us awake for quite a bit of the night- almost sounded like bare floorboards, very loud, lots of thudding which woke us several times. Other than that we loved it and would hope to use the Grand Central again.

Service with a smile at a Grand Hotel.”
We chose this hotel for its location,we travelled to Glasgow by train and did not want the hassle of taxis. It is perfectly situated in the heart of the city centre with easy access to shops, restaurants and transport links. It has modern decoration throughout and the room we stayed in was quite large with high ceilings and a very comfy bed. Staff were smiling and helpful and we were made to feel welcome,we will stay at this hotel again should we return to Glasgow. We did not eat in the hotel so we cant comment on the food. Our booking was for a twin room but we had this changed on arrival to a double room.

Grand old hotel in perfect location”
The hotel is part of the building complex of the Glasgow Central railway station. A glorious historic building very close to the attractions of Glasgow - most of them in walking distance. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable.

Excellent accommodation at Central Station”
Able to enter hotel lobby directly from within the station. Friendly reception. The hotel was a nice blend of the old and the new. The staff were friendly and helpful without being intrusive. The central Glasgow location made it easy to reach everything by a short(ish) walk or subway ride.

Centrally located albeit a bit noisy”
We were Travelling as a family with one young child and 3 much older children aged 18, 28 and 29 and because it was so centrally located, everyone was happy. And it was wonderful being able to step out of one of the exits and have immediate access to shops like Boots and Marks and Spencer's Simply Food. The main entertainment and shopping areas were also a mere 5-10 minute walk away. It was summer though and a tad hot and unfortunately, the room was a bit hot as they had no cool air conditioning facilities and for safety reasons, the windows could not be opened very much. Also, although there was a huge benefit being located next to the major train station, it was quite noisy in our room - we could hear all the train announcements over the PA system and early in the morning, we'd be woken up by the sound of the trains coming and going. It might be best to request for rooms not to face the station. The staff were wonderfully friendly and ever helpful. One of our bags failed to arrive at Glasgow airport and was only sent to us 2 days later, to the hotel, and the staff ensured that it was kept securely and sent as soon as we were back to our room. The buffet breakfast was also good. Not a huge choice but adequate and plenty for everyone. Finally, the bathrooms are very clean but there is only an overhead shower and no hand held ones. Being Asian, we understand that hotels in Europe rarely have bidets but it would be nice if they had hand held showers.
