i come here everytime at surat thani. good location .can rent motobike near and the night market is a 5 minutes to walk. only the bed is little hard but you will sleep if you tired 😅

Stayed here on an overnight in Surat Thani - was a PERFECT location; could easily walk to restaurants, bars, the pier, night market, etc. Amazing view of the river from our room; breakfast was included and was delicious. We would definitely stay here again if going back through Surat Thani!

my wife and i enjoyed the hotel. i was ther for business, and my wife visited with her daughter at a nearby university. the hotel is pretty centrally located, and good for that. it is, however, hard to find. i recommend you get the telephone number and give it to the taxi driver to help you find the place. it is off the beaten track. the decor is nicely old fashioned, but not dirty. good, helpful staff and good thai food make the experience pretty decent. there is not much to do within walking distance, but there are many places close by that are certain to please. lots of seafood restaurants and great shopping places (big, modern and not cheap).... nearby, you can find sections of the city that specialize in deals on hardware (lots of good deals on chinese and other asian nation tools)... there are areas of the city that specialize in selling beautiful clothing at real bargain prices. this hotel is nicely located for that sort of pursuit.

stopped at the grand thara as i had an early flight out of surat thani the folowing morning. the foyer was well run and efficient, the elevator and the corridors to the rooms however are in need of some improvement and renovation. the rooms however were clean and very spacious, the beds were also very comfy. for the price you won't get better value

this would of been the top hotel in surat thani in days gone by. just about perfect size room not like the shoe-boxes that pass as hotel rooms these days. had a look at the executive room very tempting but baht per night. i enjoyed my stay at the grand thara.

had to stay 1 night for next day's flight at suratthani, and this hotel is quite affordable including basic breakfast. when the airport van driver didn't come to pick me up in the morning, a staff called them and arranged new taxi from them. very nice money valued.

Great Breakfast”
We stayed at the hotel on our way to BKK from Koh Samui as we took the last ferry arriving at Suratthani in the evening and missed the last bus going further to BKK. The hotel is a bit run down. Carpets were old, as well as the TV and fridge. The room we had was very spacious tho. For travelers looking for an overnight accommodation in the area, this hotel is really recommended. You will be amazed by the breakfast they offer before you leave. :)

Great value, beautifully furnished”
we reached the hotel from the main street talad mai taking a songthaew at 15 baht per person. at the price we paid, surprisingly the room was tastefully furnished as in a posh hotel. there is not much to do here but the night market near talad mai and the bustling shops at talad mai offer great food and shopping experience. the hotel served good buffet breakfast though not so elaborate. overall very satisfying for the money paid in terms of location and service.

Worth what you pay for.”
Stayed in this hotel on two separate occassions (upon arriving at Suratthani on the way to Koh Phangan, and upon arriving at Suratthani on the way back to BKK) and both times were okay. Check in was really fast, and they really try hard to keep up with guest requests despite a slight language barrier. What hurts the hotel's rating is their room facilities, which weren't as well-maintained as one would expect. Bathroom had stains and poor ventilation, air conditioning was dripping from condensation in the vents, carpets were stained, and the lights weren't working at the time of our stay both times. Despite these, the price alone and the accessibility of other establishments from this hotel makes the price you pay worth the stay.

Good location, cheap and convenient...”
We stayed (me 36 and my parents) one night travelling from Khao Sok to Ko Tao. The hotel is average class, but clean and has a perfect location in the heart of Surat Thank. The rooms are superior and standard, but actually there is no big difference between them except of the price... Please beware of the rooms on the top floor which are close to the lift, as they can be very noisy due to the central ventilation system. All other rooms are ok. If the room smells after cigarettes, just ask for another right away if you are.nonsmoker. Breakfast are in the cheap price therefore Im not going to complain about it,but one thing was terrible - the eggs were totally cold even when they brought it right from the kitchen. The owners of the hote should consider hiring a new chef...

Easy for travellers”
Left kho phanyan on the ferry and took a bus from the port to Sera tani its 10 minutes walk from the station or a 20 bht tut tut ride to the hotel. The hotel is near to a lot of restaurants and market food, room was clean and breakfast adequate for the price i was paying. will stay again

Central Location”
What looked to be one of the first major hotels in Surat Thani it could use a little bit of a makeover and reminded us of a hotel from the 70's. Rooms were large, aircon was cold, and it was in a pretty central location. We paid 800baht for a three person room which seemed to be a good value for what we received. Hotel restaurant seemed okay and the breakfast was basic Asian fare. The restaurant down the road (away from the bridge) on Donnok 8/1 is one of the best in town.

Good stay in the middle of the town”
We stay in this hotel for a night only, we got a high floor room with river view and it was quite nice. I think there is a good balance between price and what the hotel offers. It was clean, this is an important matter but the buffet breakfast was a bit below average, I could say. All points goes to the staff which, besides friendly, were very helpful as well.

Great location, perfect stop over”
If you're coming in/going to the Islands this place is perfect. Surat Thani city is true Thailand. Nothing fancy, just a regular place to sleep. The staff arranged an airport taxi for us, it's about 30 minutes from the airport. Much better than staying in the middle of no where.
