Great Place”
I would like to highly recommend the Green Garden Homestay in Can Tho. Currently i am living on Ho Chi Minh City and wanted to visit somewhere close as a break over Christmas from the big city. I was keen to stay with a family, learn about Can Tho culture and food, live in a natural setting, not too far from a city (due to New Years Eve) and somewhere I could indulge in my photographic hobby. After plenty of research, the Green Garden Homestay appeared to tick all those boxes and this turned out to be a great choice. Can Tho is a big city of over 1m. It looks like any big city with a big river until you dig below the surface and to do that you need to stay with a family who will help you uncover the hidden secrets which will interest you. This is what happened to me. Yes the floating markets are interesting and I went twice and the riverfront is also interesting, mostly at night, but do try the fish market on the river front, the undercover market in the city, the night market (not

Rustic garden stay”
Green Garden is a lovely, rustic homestay that is surrounded by gardens of fruit trees, exotic orchids, walking paths and a small fishpond. It is several km. from the busy city of Can Tho, so it is much quieter. There are several good restaurants within a short walking distance (5- 10 minutes), although the hosts can also provide tasty lunches and dinners for a small price. Several English speaking students who live nearby helped arrange tours of nearby sights. Our hosts, Tho and his wife Han are very attentive and helpful hosts, and made us feel at home. We recommend Green Garden as a relaxing alternative to the busy city. Note that the addresses in this area changed several months ago, and the new address is 97 Vanh Dai Phi Truong

A Haven in a City”
This homestay is a gem of an oasis in the busy city of Can Tho. Whilst about three miles from the city centre it’s worth the walk/taxi ride(cheap) to enjoy the peace of the lovely garden that the bungalows are situated in. The bungalows are well equipped with comfortable beds, a good working shower and air con. On each bungalow patio there ar two hammocks. As well as the ambiance of the bungalows the highlight of booking here is the wonderful owners. We stayed for six nights and felt like part of the family. Whilst the owners English is limited we had no trouble in making our needs known. Included in the booking price is a very good breakfast made by the owner each morning, including fresh fruit from their own garden. Also in the afternoon we were often given fresh fruit or green tea. The other highlight is that the owner will cook an evening meal for only $6. We tried it for 1 night and ended up eating there for 5 of our 6 night stay! It was excellent. Recommended.

Superb Hospitality ”
We stayed at the Green Garden Homestay for three nights. It was lovely. The hosts are very open, warm, welcoming and helpful. Ha and Tho are the owners. They are very sweet. Though they speak limited English their nephew Vat and their friend Lyn both speak English very well. The entire staff went above and beyond to make our stay - not only at the Green Garden - very nice but the next leg of our journey in Vietnam as well. Highly recommend this authentic Vietnamese Homestay.

A little gem!”
We never write reviews, but this place deserves one. We had a wonderful stay at the Green Garden Homestay. The owners are great people, smiling, welcoming and generous. Their guide, Peace, speaks excellent English and offers a wonderful little tour through the Cai Rang floating market, the neighborhing canals, a rice noodle factory and cocoa farm. The location is away from the center, which is good because you’re away from all the hustle and bustle of the city, but still accessible through Grab cars. While the amenities are basic, it’s comfortable and more than enough. The surrounding gardens are green and luscious, full of mango and coconut trees. The included breakfast was filling, tasty and changed every day. We highly recommend this place!

February 2016”
Our stay at the homestay was authentic and fantastic. We had a delicious home cooked meal (vegetarian option) and hung out eating fruit and conversing with the family in their beautiful garden. They arranged a boat tour of the river and Cai Rang floating market for us. They also have mopeds and bicycles available for for rent by the guests, both of which we took advantage of. The room accomodations are very nice and clean. After staying in hotels for weeks, it was great to experience Can Tho from an authentic Vietnamese perspective, as opposed to staying downtown with the rest of the tourists.

The hostest with the mostest!”
My mom, husband and I stayed at Green Garden home stay for two nights. I can honestly say I've never met kinder, more giving people anywhere, then the host family there. They bent over backwards to welcome us, involve us in their customs, and make us comfortable. For me, staying here made our trip to the Mekong, more so than the sights we actually came to see. The accomodations were simple, clean and comfortable. A good sized bungalow type hut with basic ammenities. When we arrived they welcomed us with fresh fruits and coconut drinks. Every night, we arrived to find tea on our porches and mangos from their garden. When we asked to see their mango trees, they spent almost an hour showing us every different tree and allowed us to pick more fruits from them. Then they offered us fried sweet coconut. When we said we loved it, they offerered to show us how to make it. We then spent the next couple hours chopping coconut, frying it, and also learning how to make spring rolls. They were absolutely delicious and we had an entire platter of them! Later, they offered to take us to tradition Vietnamese cake, so we rode bicycles to a local restaurant where they paid for us to eat pancakes with shrimp/veggies/etc. Then they rode bicyles with us to the rice fields. Later, when the electricity went out, they bent over backwards to bring us lights and candles etc etc. When we left, the rode us to the taxi. And waited with us till it came. I could go on, but suffice it to say, we were completely blown away by how incredibly giving and kind this family was. They genuinely enjoyed spending time with us, and sharing their lives with us. I will never forget our experience here. So to end, this was simple, $20 accomodation that became priceless because of the family who housed us. Stay here if you want more then a bed, but a real Vietnamese experience!

Basic accommodation, great staff”
The bungalows are very rustic and basic but big and comfortable enough and comes with a small terrace. The family really try to make you feel welcome and they were very kind to offer fruit and drinks several times. You can also borrow bikes for free. On the second evening we were taken out for Vietnamese pancakes together with the other guests, we had a fun evening. We booked the daytrip through them, it was a good trip but would mostly recommend the wholesale floating market and the noodle factory - so maybe get the trip tailored only to this. We had their nephew with us on the floating market trip, he speaks English but it's limited so we didn't understand everything. The only negative comment about our stay was when leaving. We asked them to call a taxi, and without our agreement they fixed a price, I kept asking if it was with meter and they said yes, but this was not true. We tried to get the taxi driver to put on the meter but without success. For the benefit of the doubt we kept on going to the airport with this taxi driver, but it turned out to be a high fixed price. The airport is not far from Green Garden and just straight out the road so no risk of the taxi taking a longer route.

Green Garden Homestay a haven....”
A place of tranquility and a beautiful garden to relax in. Lovely friendly people who go out of their way to accomodate visitors. The only slight problem was the noise of the frogs at night but it is only a minor glitch in an otherwise lovely stay. The Homestay is 10 minutes form city but I enjoyed being away from the hustle and bustle. Hosts very approachable, provided cool drinks and fruit and lots of help from their daughter who speaks fluent English. An enjoyable stay highly recommend it to all travellers.Marian

Very kind family to stay with.”
Friendly, warm welcome in green garden. We were looked after very well. The family is very friendly, and they help you where ever they can. Thank you very much! There are mosquitos around; but the fans help them go away.

Lovely Hosts”
If you have no problems with noise of construction in the near and love the sound of the cocks and crickets on midnight and early morning, take this stay here. The house is open under the roof and many bugs can come in. The moskitonet is necessary and its very hot only with the ventillator during the night, sleep is possible but not good. If someone take a early mekong tour you will awake at 5 am. You hear every noise. The matress is hard and if you have problems with your back its not recommened. We enjoyed the homegrown fruits, lovely tea and their Pho Soup where the best we got during vietnam holiday! You can rent a bike for free, but its a longer distance to the center of can tho. They lock the gate at night so let the hosts know if you come late. The 3 h trip through mekong that they offer is 40$per person and too pricy. We see a lot but you are there with many other tourists at the rice fabrik and the price is too high for what you get.

The hosts are extremely nice and helpful. If you want to book a tour to the floating market, ask them, it will be cheaper than other methods. The house and garden are amazing.

Best place to stay if you have a flight from Can Tho.”
Like the garden of Eden oasis in the middle of town. Super friendly owner family who couldn't do enough for you. Had a great seafood meal on the street just across the road.

The always helpful staff made for an enjoyable stay.”
Owners and their family are so willing to help you with tours arranging bus tickets etc. The two nephews Peace and Michael gave me the chance to meet some of their university friends and other locals and help them improve their English. Great way to meet locals.
