Would definitely stay the same place next time! ”
Our stay at Green Valley Hotel was great. The rooms are okay, they are big and comfortable, but there are backpacker standards. One night with heavy rain, it went through the roff and or bed got soaked. But it matched the perfect backpacker experience in Sapa. The staff is amazing, and will help you with anything, plus they have great tours from the hotel. Even transportation from Sapa to your next stop is something they will be able to help you with. For the price paid, this place was amazing.
Short family break in Sappa.”
We enjoyed our stay at the green valley hotel. As a family of four with children aged 12 and 9 the setting was ideal being quiet and near the end of the tourist area shopping and eating venues. We ate at the hotel during our stay and were not disappointed with the meals, which are served in a room including a full size pool table , small bar and dining tables complete with panoramic views across the valley with outside terrace. I found the hotel quirky, yes it is dated and yes it could do with a lick of paint and some repairs here and there, so if you are looking for 4 star accommodation at 2 star prices do not go but if you are looking for clean basic rooms in a friendly atmosphere with genuine family run hotel you wont be disappointed. we would certainly stay there again.
It's worth it”
the room was so cheap and it was worth it. nice view for sapa from the balcony.the bosses were so friendly and helpful. quiet location but not too far from the center (only some minutes walking). certainly we will come back here oneday. anyway, it was hard to get fress air into the room because there was no blower in the bathroom and we didn't like to open the window also.
Loved this quaint hotel, just out of town”
Green Valley is a great little hotel, just out of the main street of Sapa, so less hassle and more views! We found the service fantastic, food great and staff friendly. Its very simple but we like it like that and the kids loved the 4-poster styled mozzie nets!
Lovely views, value for money”
We were very happy with our stay at Green Valley. We had a great view of the mountains and enjoyed the food served at good prices. Power and Internet were in and out. Several of the staff has difficulty communicating - ended up in quite a few mix-ups. One woman in particular was very agreeable, but often didn't know what she was agreeing to, and us doing the same on the other side. I'd suggest double checking and being very clear about requests to avoid mix-ups. We ordered a lot of food and transportation services through this hostel, and all worked out, so very satisfied overall.
Budget Hotel with First Class Hospitality”
Normally steer clear of back-packers style joints thus avoiding fellow aussie, euro's and north-americans. Green Valley's a bit different. Unashamedly a budget hotel yet still cacks all over more affluent hotels at double and triple the room rate. Some of the best valley views left in town. Sufficiently out of town to be enjoyable but not too far. Hotel has all day breaky and modest menu with all the Viet/Western essentials...however close to a good range of bars and cafes serving all your hometown favourites. Plenty of nearby massage spa's with honest services. Hotel is Viet/Aussie joint venture and you can expect to share your stories and experiences with Glenn and similarly draw from his well of knowledge and information. Plenty on offer in terms of tours, treks, transport, motorbike hire etc however not at all pushy. Would happily return without hesitation.
Good Value”
Good, a basic room but with large comfy bed, ensuite, mozzie net. Good value for Sapa which we found generally expensive. No breakfast included which is a shame. It's down the hill to the south east - a little out the way but one of the 3 treks we tried goes that way so nice not to walk through town at the end of it! Staff are genuinely helpful though would only offer cold shower on the day we left for night bus (booked with them) on the other hand they did transfer us to bus station. I'd stay again.
Excellent budget place to stay in Sapa”
I think this is a great place to stay in Sapa. I booked a single room with no view but ended up in a fantastic room with a great view. It was very clean and comfortable and the staff were very helpful. The location is fine - slightly out of town but everything is walkable
great deal, worth the further distance”
This place is a great find, as good of a deal as anywhere I've found in Vietnam. The nightlife is completely dead in Sapa but it's not this hotel's fault. Highly recommend, great price and even better view.
Good facilities, friendly staff”
The hotel was near many places to visit. Friendly staff and supported us to much. Especially, in beds they added an equiptment to make warm. But they should tell visiters more information abt suppliers to recommend. Because they mentioned to us can go traveling and came back anytime we wanted, however the suppliers said differences, just limited the time and called us continiously to ask us back, with a little bit aguement. Anw, we highly recommend to all passengers and will book again when we come here next time.
Dorm room”
Dorm room was good value for money. Great views. Staff friendly. Electric blankets were nice, would stay here again. Lacks atmosphere, if the prices in the bar area were slightly cheaper more people would hang around
super friendly staffs”
the staffs were super friendly. they really helped me out with my trip, not only in Sapa too.
Nice room”
Nice room, friendly staff, beautiful view of Muong Hoa Valley but it's far to the center of Sapa town, you have to walk 15 mins of the mountain slopes.
Nice hotel”
the owner are friendly. they talk to everybody almost time to make their customers feel comfortable. the room is so so but the water heater and heated bed are always ready (except when loss of power) the bar is very nice and warm. my friend and i really like the billiard table in there (it's free and we use almost the time to play it when it's rain and wait bus). the restaurant is good and the price can acceptable. however, the menu is not many choice. we are like the pizza that made by the owner very much.
meh... but sa pa is amazing.”
Our stay in sapa was amazing but the gran Valley hotel was in fact the least nice place we stayed in Vietnam. They were friendly and accommodating but I believe there are much better places to stay at equal value in the area.
A tranquil place”
the hotel at muong hoa street, on the way to lao chai and ta van villages, its location is almost at edge of sapa town. so if you don't like much the noisy market and disturbing street vendors at the center, it'd be a good place for enjoying the tranquility of sapa. the room is large enough but lack of facilities e.a. cable tv, telephone, wifi, mini-bar ... and sometimes (at early morning) there's suddenly no hot water at all. whatever, who need those stuffs in a journey, we indeed had good time here, lying on the roof (5th) drinking in the mist and looking at starry sky at night. it's fun.
Value for money - Cheap Motel”
We book for 2 days but due to some reason, we arrived 1 day late. The owner (wife) agreed to reschedule FOC but after 2 days, other owner (husband) refuse and ask for 1 day room charged with reason that the room is reserved for us already. But infact when arrived, I must wait 30p for room clean. Food is ok. Location is quite far center: 1km (with me no problem cause we drive our car to Sapa) Room is not comfortable. Like motels not Hotel (other name of this hotel is MINH QUANG HOSTEL) Price is good
wonderful visit”
very relaxing atmosphere--excellent view from my balcony room--staff is super--good food reasonably priced--a bit out of the way
Nice but dim”
A more detailed description of how to get to the hotel from Lai Cai using public transportation would be helpful (tip: last bus stop on bus numbers 1 or 2!). The room we stayed in was quite dingy, contrasting to the fresh appearance in photos. Rooms are cheaper there than booking online. There was some confusion over the pick-up to take us to an overnight bus for Hanoi, so worth double-checking details with female manager who speaks English well (if that's your language of choice!).
Okay for a night or 2”
Simple rooms that do the job. There are better hotels in Sapa for this price but no real issues. Good for a 1 or 2 night stay.
