Clean, nice room with excellent view!”
Ha Long DC is not a relatively new hotel but their facilities are excellent with helpful staff and spacious, well-kept room. They were also very flexible if you wanted to stay for a couple more hours past check out time (for a very low price). They also had a nice pool which we didn't swim but took a look and it was sanitary as well as enjoyable.

the rooms are really large and comfortable. inspite of having an additional bed in the room there was enough and more elbow room. The view of Halong bay from the room was spectacular. Great value for money.

Good location. It was a walking distance to bai tho mountain which unfortunately is officially closed by the time i intend to hike. Staffs were pretty helpful especially with our ha long bay tour and our transportation back to hanoi. Buffet breakfast is just ok because there's not much choices..but other foods i ordered was tasty and i love it. Room is pretty wide and have a partial view of the bay. Overall it was a great stay and we enjoyed our time there.

Service was excellent. Room was spacious and clean..carpeted,with bathtub and halong bay view, Staffs were pretty helpful with booking our ha long tour,got discounted and also our transportation back to hanoi. Location is good. Close to bai tho mountain. Breakfast is just ok, not much choices but i love the food i ordered from their restaurant. It was excellent. I'd definitely book this hotel again.

Had a very comfortable stay at Ha Long DC, the staff were very friendly and the rooms were clean and spacious. One negative was that the facility’s in the gym were very lacking as everything was broken.

The hotel is located in Hon Gai ward where we find it hard to find a restaurant due to TET. The safe in my room was broken so the staff had to replace it with another one. I guess the carpet has never been cleaned because there are so many stains on it. However, the staff at the reception desk and restaurant were very friendly and helpful. What surprised me was that the doorman could speak Cantonese fluently since he has worked in Hong Kong for 8 years. It seemed that the staff at the restaurant couldn't understand English well. They had to take a corresponding Vietnamese menu when I tried to order some food in English. Anyway, the ocean view was amazing. But I don't think it's 100% of the money I paid.

We enjoyed our view from the room and had plenty of space for our family. The staff were very helpful in arranging taxis and organising our tour of the bay. Most of our destinations were on the other side of the bridge so had to drive 10-15 mins each time we wanted to go somewhere. The staff were lovely to my small children and made them feel very welcome.

Perfect location to get to bai tho / poem mountain - ha long bay”
Hotel itself is fairly outdated. Room is somewhat clean but spacious. This is more Ha Long town/city rather than the touristy area with nice hotels from across the bay. The room had a nice view of the city. The main purpose to stay here is to do the hike up Bai Tho mountain - which is about 10 min walk to the entrance. The hike itself is probably more amazing than Ha Long cruises with panoramic view of Ha Long bay and the city.

Convenient location, not the cleanest”
We tried to hike Poem Mountain in the morning only to find that it is now closed off, but this was the perfect location to stay if that's what you're trying to do. Walking distance to the mall in town and around some of the markets. The family suite was huge, like an apartment with two bedrooms, one bathroom, and a living room. There were stains here and there on upholstery and corners were left dusty and dirty, but we only needed it for one night, so it fit the bill. The staff is friendly and will help if anything is needed.

Nice hotel with great service”
The hotel is new having recently opened and has a huge and lovely family room (2 bedrooms + a living room). The view of the bay from the rooms are fantastic. I am very impressed with Ms Pham Thi Le Thuy, the Asst. Marketing Manager of the hotel who has patiently answered my queries over emails and helped to arrange the half-day Halong Bay tour and transfer (Noi Bai Airport to Halong DC hotel, and Halong DC hotel to my hotel in Hanoi). She even came down from her office to greet us at the reception when we reached and again sent us off when we were leaving. The only downside is some of the staff at the Reception are not so well-versed in English and you may face some challenges communicating with them. The hotel location may not be favourable to some travellers as it is located in the opposite side of the tourist area, and in the local area (where we actually preferred it to be as we can have a better insight of the locals' way of life).
