Beautiful and right on the water”

This was the most expensive hotel we stayed at in Japan (or anywhere actually), but the grounds and rooms were simple and stunning. It was fun wearing the yakatas. And the onsen alone would have been worth a lot at any spa in the US. We got a room with a private tub on our patio, which is small, but nice if you’re a couple that wants to experience it together. Also, even one of the best massages I’ve ever had, the 90 minute lymphatic body, head, and face. Highly recommend splurging! The dining options weren’t as high quality as hoped, but I have a gluten allergy so couldn’t try everything. There was an amazing host that literally brought me around to every station and would bring extra things to our table! Great service. Wish we stayed more than 1 night, would do next time.

Lovely stay - helpful staff!”

We went here as a group of 4 people - 2 couples and stayed for 1 night. The hotel and views surrounding it is breath-taking to say the least. When we entered the lobby, our jaws dropped as it overlooked the beautiful Lake Ashi. Our room is tight, but comfortable. In the evening, staff members came to our room to set-up the folding couch and futon with bedding - it made it very comfortable. The hotel is close to a ship which takes people across Lake Ashi and to a cute neighbouring town with a lovely shrine. There are a couple of restaurants in the day and maybe one in the night time. So food could be limited. When we checked in, the staff attending me was very kind and helpful, but there was another staff that was iffy when we asked if we could book dinner for that night. After 20 hours of travel, and with no/very limited dinner options for the night, we were disappointed that the staff was curt and borderline upset when we enquired about dinner. She said that the restaurant was full. We would have been fine with any response, but the way she reacted was very unpleasant. That was the only bad part of our stay there. Otherwise, a very lovely hotel with amazing views and close enough to attractions. I should mention, they offer shuttle bus service to Odawara Station (which I only learnt later on my trip back from the hotel) and it is a very good service.

Very nice hotel, comfortable and relax vacation. When we step in the hotel, just surprise by the fabulous view in the lobby. The team especially the manager on 22/3 provide very helpful service while our car tire was broken, they are very patient and professional for us to communicate the insurance company. Will come again for the clean room, nice hot spring, beautiful view, nice food and professional service. Thanks for the staffs!

Wonderful Visit”

A great hotel on the lake. The room was clean and comfortable with everything I needed, and you would expect from a high-end hotel. If you are here to onsen this is a fabulous place. Onsen opened early and stays open late. The staff is great; friendly and accommodating. A bus station is right across the street. There you can board the cable cars, pirate ship, and buses to get you around Lake Ashinoko and into the volcano villages. I had a breakfast buffet included which was fine to start the morning. The dinner buffet was included as well but, wasn't the best. I went out to eat for dinner after trying it the first night.

I had a wonderful stay here. ”

I had a great time here. Everything about this hotel is like a resort type of feel. They basically took care of everything for you, transportation to and from the subway, all kinds of amenities around the hotel if u would need, the onsen was also spacious as well. U don't really need to pack anything, they have everything for you there. The staff were all so nice and accommodating. They tried their best to help you in anyway even if they didn't speak alot of English(some spoke more than others, shutout to jascha for his help and recommendations) The only thing I wish that this hotel did better would be for solo travelers, they didnt really have a better deal for solo travelers, all rooms were made for a couple or more ppl, so as a solo getaway I kind of felt the room was set up for everything of 2 which is fine but it's a little pricey for just 1 person in a room that can fit 3 or more. I just wish they could have smaller rooms for solo travelers and more things that could accommodate solo travelers, also talking about the dinning, where they can have more areas just for solo travelers since everyone came in pairs and they always stare at me by myself. Definitely a place for couples and families not really meant for solo travelers but as my first time in hakone, this is really a lovely place!
