Kindly Look Beyond ”
Although it's a New Boat, well maintained and fairly clean, the staff attitude isn't the best. Food which is a very important in cruises....specially short duration ones....the food was barely passable.....Desserts were pathetic....no ice cream even....moreover in all the 3 meals ,something or the other in the buffet got finished....not to be replenished . Most irritating thing was that brunch was laid sharp at 9:30am and by 9:48 , the staff was busy clearing the tables ( found it absolutely disgusting)....

Cleanliness was superb (our biggest concern of going on a cruise). Food was superb. Activity was superb (apparently Capella is the only one with water slides). The nit-picking: - We had boat rowing through the caves by the fisherman early in the morning, but we didn't get to visit any caves. - There are no snacks available for purchase onboard. So either bring your own or purchase them early with the vendor that will come rowing on a boat in day time.

The cruise was very nice. Staffs were good. However, sadly we missed the bamboo boat in the morning because no one noticed us, and the time on the cruise was very short.

Great experience on board, less desirable experience for our transportation back to Ha Noi”
The experience onboard the cruise was great. All the facilities on board were fairly well kept, but you can tell that the passenger turn-around on board is frequent, due to the fact that the rooms aren't as clean as what you would expect from a five star hotel. The food was great for all meals, expect buffet style for all, other then the dinner. If you're drinkers, l'd recommend bringing some of your own beer/wine/liquor with you as it's much cheaper when purchased off the ship. The staff was extremely friendly and welcoming which makes the stay pleasant. However, I wouldn't expect this to be a "party" type crowd on the cruise, unlike some of your smaller/cheaper cruises. So if that's what you're looking for, this probably isn't the right choice. I'd recommend staying in Hanoi the night prior and using a limousine bus service the morning of the cruise to get to ha long. We stayed the night before in Halong, and procuring our own transportation from the Hanoi airport the day prior was kind of stressful, with nothing booked prior. The reason I'm not giving 5 stars for our experience was due to the transportation service we booked through cappella for our return to Ha Noi. The cruise line forgot that we had booked through them, and we ended up waiting about 1.5 hours after we disembarked for another form of transportation. We ended up on another cruise lines bus, which was not a limo bus that we had paid for. We paid 50$ for transportation on a bus that others were riding for free. The bus had no air conditioning and was packed tight. I would have rather spent the additional 30$ for a private car back to Ha Noi. Luckily the passengers on the bus were very nice people. I'm hoping this was a one off situation, but I'm not very happy about paying $50 for transportation that really should have cost us 12$.

It may be commercialized, but this is my second time doing a 2D1N Halong Bay cruise. Room size, cruise deco, scenery, food and staffs’ service were way above expectations. Love all the meals provided. Vietnamese food is both healthy and super tasty. In fact I grew to like Viet food more than Thai food. Halong Bay is surreal. I can stare and amaze at the beauty of the thousands of limestone islands for days if time permits.

Tom, the cruise manager, is great! He is always around to answer queries and help with requests! Cabins are very spacious cabins with big balcony and bath tub! Among the many activities, most exciting feature is the slide that bounce us into the sea in 1.5 second from a height of about 2 storeys! It’s like playing in a theme park! Only Capella Cruise has this! Next the seafood buffet is very sumptuous and delicious. The other highlight is catching sunrise and sunset! Amazing!

Highly recommend. Everything about the cruise screamed luxury. We loved the food, the staff and the experience :). The manager Tom really helped with arranging a surprise birthday cake for my wife which was really sweet of him and the cruise staff. One let down was that we couldn't get to do the Thai chi as the instructor didn't turn up. One area of improvement is the dinner. They could make it a little bit more exciting.

Cruise ship was pretty. Room was a good size and I specially booked it for the bath tub and the slide! Good fun kayaking in the Bay and sliding into the cold waters. Food was very good. Looks pretty and was tasty! We also enjoyed the happy hour with lots of snacks. Only complaint was that the floor of the cabin was not cleaned at all. That was the only bummer…
