beyond my expectation”
Lovely Halong Dragon cruise that I really liked to booked with, tour staff provided me a lot of information about the history of founding Halong bay that related to drammatic story of ancient vietnamese people carried out a war of resistance against the Chinese colonialists in begining of centery 12th. The boat consists of 10 cabins and most of them were quite new and they were qualified for 3 star boat, air conditioner works a little bit limited opens from 6pm to 7am. Breakfast freshly prepared for you each morning with coffee and a selection of Vietnamese foods . The kayaking activities organized in the afternoon of first day was very short, it should be better if they lasted for at least 1 hour, in stead of 40 minutes like now. Highly recommend Halong Dragon Cruise to everyone who is looking for a trip to visit Halong bay.

Exceptional”
Halong bay was a very beautiful place and this was a must-see area when travelling in the north of Vietnam, Halong Dragon Cruise's quality was not the best cruise I have ever stayed so far, but I gave them highest rate because of 2 reasons, the first is price that was able to be seen as the cheapest boat and second reason is to despite the cheap price still it was a very good trip, especially, the staff's hospitality.

An experience not to be missed!”
i was happy with the halong dragon deluxe cruise we booked and the price we got with agoda. it was less than at a sapa travel agency, even with a discount, so great value! we had an amazing view from our room! food was only okay. staff was friendly although we were a bit rushed along the way. all the boats out there are pretty much painted white. no exotic brown wooden junks like in the pictures. all the boats are quite worn looking overall, but looked about the same class although there were a few standouts. all in all, you probably get what you pay for in each category.

2-3 Star Cruise, but 5 star tour guide ”
Me and my girlfriend really enjoyed the Halong Bay tour with a greatest tour guide Mr. Vietnam. I was let down when I saw the cruise as it looks very old and obsolete, but the food and all the tour plans were enough to cover my initial disappointment. Not rushed, well-explanation about all the tour spots were wonderful. Those people who looking for a cheap cruise but nice, I highly recommend this cruise.

trip to halong bay is a must in vietnam. i made a last minute decision to book with halong dragon cruise - deluxe, which ended up being more 'standard' than 'deluxe' and this might be always the case for the solo traveler. the actual tours are 'standard' for majority of operators. we experience two tour guides, where the first one, who stayed on the boat overnight, was a really friendly young guy, who made us all feel welcome. the second tour guide, who traveled with us back to hanoi was rather rude. the main let down were the meals - not much flavor. i also felt that the sheets in the cabin could have been cleaner.

Extensive and comprehensive itineraries”
The Halong Bay is breath-taking. Awesome hills and landscape befitting those of fairyland. The set-back we have is the cruise-boat we were on. The window panes were rusty and dusty and the worn-out exterior didn't help either. The wooden decor, though not much of a decor, made the cabins look tired, dark and heavy. A sense of dismal hanged in the air. The foot-massage we had was nothing more than someone stroking your feet. It was a waste of time. I suppose when a free massage is thrown into the cruise fare, you can't complain much.

Beautiful location but disappointed”
We went through APT Travel and didn't think much of them! Very good on email but it went downhill from there! We got the bus from Hanoi, and went to their offices to get it. But the bus was packed with no thought and only some seat belts. Bossed about quite a lot and very much "must stick to plan" so rushed around by your guide. AC on boat was turned on at 7pm and off again at 7am, with no good reason really. (Except to get people up for breakfast!) The units seemed to be freezing or inadequate so lots if grumbles in the morning. We were told breakfast at 7am and then lunch at 10.30am! Also there is no provision for drinks at meals unless you buy it - there was no water provided. It was boiling in the morning, but because they had turned off the AC and lights to the cabins, they turned into sweat boxes, and made packing away unbearable. When we asked for them to be turned on, we got "it wasn't possible due to boat moving, electric drain, battery use, blah blah blah" but when we got more insistent, and pointed out the crew were managing to watch TV, they put them on. After lunch on the boat in port, we were hurried off, to then sit and wait in a outdoor restaurant for 45min for the bus to arrive (everything at your own expense!) It was still very hot! When the bus came it was all rush again, and we seem to have gained people! There was huge chaos about who goes where and the bus was simply not big enough for the number of people AND their bags! I am not sure about any levels of HSE in Vietnam, but this was definitely an overcrowded bus! There was also a real anomaly with the different itineraries that were floating around - not sure how one boat would manage to deliver all the different promises! Ha Long Bay is amazing but I felt sad at how desperately over visited it was - all glory was gone and, honestly, you would better going to another area; the rights parts of Thailand are just as beautiful but with no-one else around.

Amazing service”
Best three star boat I have ever travelled with. The service and effort the staff put in was better than most 4 stars boat. When I arrived they gave me a seat, cabin and a drink immediately so I didn't have to stand around. All itineraries took place very smoothly, staff and tourguide were very friendly, openminded and willing to answer any question related to our itineraries. Especially, we loved Vienamese food very much and cooked in Vietnamese recipe.

Fantastic experience - rooms need improvement”
We sprung for the more expensive room with the balcony. Views were stunning and the activities were great. Not much time for relaxing and just enjoying the boat. Unfortunately our aircon was not working- staff were coming in to our room for several hours trying to fix it, but never did. For the cost, we'd expect all the amenities to be working.

Good cruise with nice staff”
We enjoyed a nice time on this boat. At arrival we were given refreshing towels and a cool drink. The room was not very spacious and it was pretty humid. Aircon worked well and the shower was good. Food was delicious, but the breakfast should be improved (lack of choice). In general we enjoyed the trip, but for more than 1 night, we would choose a better option.

It is after all a boat, so expect cabin electricity to be available when at moorings and same with hot water pressure,it is there for the morning shower but not in the evening- but scolding hot from the individual bathroom heaters. The aircon/heater is a bit of a puzzle as the control is not in English, mine cycled all night inthe heat setting.

Very uncomfortable bed with hard mattress. The flushing system is not working properly. There was no foot massage as stated in Agoda. The tour guide was always in hurry, not patient to wait for the elderly guest.

Boot ok, Essen schlecht, Service noch schlechter”
Aufgrund einer Vereinbarung wurden wir nicht in der Altstadt abgeholt, sondern mit dem ausdrücklichem Hinweis bitte pünktlich zu sein, an einem anderen Ort. Hier warteten wir ohne eine Information zu bekommen dann 35 Minuten auf den Bus. Gleiches wiederholte sich auf der Rücktour allerdings mit 40 Minuten Verspätung. Diesmal wollte der nur vietnamesisch sprechenden Fahrer und irgendwo in Hanoi rauslassen, damit wir dann mit Taxi fahren sollten. Nach meinem Protest lieferte er uns bei dem Office von APT-Travel (Firma merken und meiden!) ab, wo sich herausstellte, dass er die Strasse nicht kannte. In der Halong-Bucht auf dem Boot angekommen erwartete uns ein ziemlich scheußliches Mittag, was keinem der 22 Gäste richtig gefiel. Das Abendessen hingegen war gemessen am Mittag ein Genuss, gemessen an unseren Erwartungen und an der vietnamesischen Küche ein Drama. Das Mittag am nächsten Tag wurde in einem Restaurant eingenommen, in welches wir ohne weiteres auch selbst gegangen wäre, allerdings bekamen wir dort nicht die Köstlichkeiten der Speisekarte, sondern billiges Touri-Essen, mit tiefgefrorenen Frühlingsrollen. Die Zimmer auf dem Boot waren sauber, wie auch die Toiletten. Die Matratzen steinhart. Klimaanlage wurde erst nach dem Abendessen angemacht, so dass man nach dem Duschen gleich wieder ins Schwitzen kam und fluchtartig das Zimmer verlassen musste. Die Preise für eine Flasche Wein lagen bei 18 $, was 600% über den normalen Preis liegt. Sofern man den ganzen Touri-Nepp, wie Kayak fahren, Baden an einem überfülltem künstlichen Strand und Besuch einer Perlenzucht nicht mitmachen möchte, kann man an Deck die Schünheit der Halonbucht genießen. Die wirklich sehenswerte Halongbucht sollte man tatsächlich mit den Großen der Branche unternehmen. Diese Firma am Besten meiden!!

Die Zimmer sind gepflegt und sauber. Man fühlt sich gut aufgehoben bei der Crew, die immer sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend ist. Einziger Nachteil: die Matratzen. Mann könnte ebenso auf dem Boden schlafen: steinhart

合宿と思って参加するのなら、楽しい時間を過ごせます。APTツアーに申し込んだ為１日のスケジュールが決まっているので、良くても嫌でも参加。小雨の中カヤックもしました。みなさん寒い中、ズボンがびしょぬれになりました。周りの方は旅慣れている欧米人が多く、日本人は私たち一家だけでした。英語が話せればそれなりに異文化交流ができ、楽しい時間を過ごせることでしょう。
