Great location and the room!”
We stayed at 6 different hotels in Philippines and this one was the only one that really looked like a hotel. Amenities were European standard or Australian in our case, not a Philippino style 🤦♀️ We were impressed. Hotel is right on the beach with own restaurant, the food is alright ,but there are places with better food on the same street. We liked the vibe of Alona beach and all the music playing around, lots of European tourists and spots to seat and enjoy the view while having drinks or a meal. Overall we had a great experience there. My advise, not to buy a tour on the beach, better go in town further up and the price could be twice cheaper then they offer. Or if you can afford private boat, go for it, as you won't have an experience you looking for with the general group tour.

We stayed in 3 different beachfront resorts in Alona Beach - Lost Horizon, Hayahay Resort & Baywatch Dive Resort - at almost the same prices and I was only satisfied with Hayahay Resort. Their rooms are well-maintained, clean and the facilities are working well. The location is also great. Their beachfront is one of the best along the Alona Beach stretch.

Very good place to stay at Alona Beach”
The 5N in Jan 2019 at Hayahay, were a very pleasant stay. From the very first moment of pre-arrival contacts, until departure, the staff was all friendly, responsive to any questions, helpful and: Honest! (Once I wanted to pay for (excellent) breakfast, but missed some loosely stored banknotes, and the staff would run after me to return the 2x1000 Peso notes, that accidentially slipped out the pocket under the table! So honest, despite 2000 ₽ would mean a lot of money for low paid Filipinos. Hayahay is situated right beach front, and like all other beachfront hotels of this beach section, there is no road, but for the last 150m from taxi drop off you will have to drag your luggage over sandy ground. Assistance by hotel staff provided on request, but not really needed, as the sand on the path is solid. Yes, it will be a bit noisy from music coming from neighboring venues, but never was big issue, and would mute by 11 pm for good sleep. If you don't like it lively, you should avoid Alona Beach at all. The rooms are small, even the Deluxe rooms, almost tiny, and miss a balcony. But they are spotless clean, and have all kinds of thoughtful amenities. Silent Aircon, good fridge, 2 bottles of free drinking water per day. Loved the small signs in the room like "If the matress is too hard for you, that can be changed, talk to the staff" Unfortunately the WiFi signal in both the room as well as the restaurant was very weak (most of the time between 0-2 bars, and slow), so that I used most of the time my own data Simcard for doing internet research and planning trips. The restaurant provides, next to great breakfast from the large menu (loved french breakfast w/ hot Croissants and brewed cofffee, plus fresh fruit platter), also great food for lunch and dinner. Fish was always fresh catch of the day. Loved the option, to get lunch packed for day trips on island tours, diving and so on. Would I book with Hayahay again, if happens to return to Alona Beach? Yes! And so I would l

execellent”
The resort is execellent for everything. I also stayed another resort near Hayahay resort for 2days. Another resort is much more expansive but the quality is not good compared to Hayahay resort. And never go to the exchange shop there. the exchange shop's charge is almost 40%.. If you get 100 dallars in bank. you will get 62dallars in the exchange shop. The exchange shop is a deceiver.

Exceptional”
our stay in Bohol is short since it’s just a sidetrip, but it’s definitely worth it because of the accommodation that’s just near the shore or basically a front beach view. better check this place if youre staying in Alona, Panglao as they have their own resto as well! :)

The staff were very accommodating and friendly. The location of the beach is really along the alona beach. Hence, you will experience fun not only in daytime but also the night life in Panglao.

Great place, nice room, quiet aircon, delicious pizzas. ”
Our room was very quiet, as the rooms are located in the back. So if you like to relax, but be close to the beach, this is the perfect place to be. We enjoyed the pizzas and the seafood. Unfortunately no credit cards accepted, only cash.

Very recommended hotel”
I stayed here only 1 night but it was not enough. Especially the location is awesome. Only few seconds to go to the beach. And foods in the restaurant is also excellent. However, if they can provide hair drier in the room, it will be more perfect.

The room is clean and comfy. Hotel location is at the beach front and near restos. ”
The room is clean and comfy. Hotel location is at the beach front and near restos but we still had a good and quiet sleep. Staff are pleasant. We tried their sizzling mixed seafood and it is good. The way up to the hotel reception is like for PWDs, lol. But not a big deal.

Very good room. Some services lacking”
Enjoyed a 3 night stay at Hayahay Alone Beach. Room was large, clean and quiet, and everything worked as it should, except the wifi. Good shower, plenty of towels and very comfortable bed. 1. Wifi was terrible to the point of being barely useable. This may have been the provider's fault. Nonetheless, if that's the case, perhaps they need to change their provider or just pay for a better service from the existing provider. 2. On our first morning there we had breakfast in the restaurant. Although the coffee was okay, I only got less than 1/2 of what a normal cup of coffee would be, and no refills were forthcoming. Just terrible. I found out that the coffee is dispensed from an automatic machine. Come on Hayahay. Do your customers a service and at least provide adequate coffee.. The rest of the breakfast was nothing special but adequate. We found better breakfasts elsewhere. 3. 5% surcharge if using VISA. Terrible practice. That alone is enough to make me reconsider.

Alona is reawakening!”
Now that the PCR swab test is no longer required Bohol is this last week opening up to fully vaccinated visitors with an S-Pass. We travelled from Cagayan de Oro by Trans Asia ferry arriving Tagbilaran, then bus to Alona. Was here 4 years ago and the corporates have moved in: McDonalds, Jollibee, Dunkin Donuts and a brand new airport. Many of the smaller businesses have been bruised by 20 months of covid shut-down. A number of premises are still shut, or shut for good. But Hayahay on the beach was fully functional. Great menu of European, Filipino and Thai foods. I do recommend booking online, significantly cheaper than walk in. Besides Hayahay I can recommend the all you can eat buffet at Phoenix a few doors away, and a breakfast at French restaurant Gavroche. Enjoy White Beach, Alona, before the big boys take over. High priced Henann Resort is buying up and rapidly expanding at the northern end, another expanding at the southern end, and squeezing many of the smaller businesses in between. I certainly recommend Hayahay Resort for a relaxing stay, and at this time, not too many tourists.
