Disappointing”

My boyfriend and I were just stopping over in Thanh Hoa for one night on our way to Vinh, so we decided to stay at this hotel based on its central location and positive reviews. We booked a standard double room and when we arrived at the hotel the receptionist confirmed that it was a double room we wanted. But when we got to our room, it was a twin room. The room itself was okay, it didn't have a window but was quite spacious and at first glance seemed quite clean. However, as we started to unpack I discovered that part of the floor, wall and table were teeming with ants. This, combined with the bed situation, prompted us to go back to reception and request to change to a double room. The receptionists spoke very, very little English (which I did find unusual for a 3 star hotel) but they eventually managed to communicate to us that a double room would cost an additional 70, 000 VND, which we agreed to pay. The double room was much larger and ant-free. The bed was large and comfortable, and the bathroom was also large. The bathroom initially appeared a bit grubby, but this turned out to just be some wear and tear rather than dirt. The following morning we went down to the restauarant for breakfast. The food on offer was limited and unappealing, but what made it entirely unpalatable was that most of what was on offer was completely crawling with ants. The bread, the fruit, the fruit juice and coffee were infested. Vietnam's climate means that it is almost impossible to entirely eradicate insects, and having lived here for almost two years I am no stranger to ants, which are particularly persistent. But this was completely unacceptable for an hotel, and the staff didn't seem to be remotely fazed by the problem. I have stayed in countless hotels and guesthouses of varying standards during my time in Vietnam and never encountered this extent of infestation. I would not recommend staying here - there is no shortage of alternaive accommodation available in Thanh Hoa.

Good hotel”

Good hotel for a reasonable price. Unfortunately the receptionist didn’t know how to get to the Sam Son by public transport. That’s a big downside for us.

Very comfortable rooms!”

After the great welcome (somehow they knew my name) by three staff people, we found our way up to our rooms, and found them spacious and comfortable; the beds super. We couldn't bring our bicycles in, but they were in a covered courtyard under 24/7 watch. I met the hotel owner and he answered my many questions about the hotel and. After learning that I was looking for a birthday cake for one of those in our group, he offered to order it for me. The one nitpick I have is that they sell only sell one brand of beer (Ha Noi), and only warm, not the range shown on their menus.

A good night stay”

It was a bit difficult to locate the hotel as it's hidden inside some lanes. It was a nice hotel with a covered carpark for motorcycles & 2 cars at most. Reception staff was friendly, the room & toilet were clean & very spacious. I had a good night sleep on the bed. Free breakfast was very limited buy enough for me to be on the road. Recommended. Btw, there is a Singapore theme Restaurant 'Lucky' nearby selling frog leg porridge, quite good & made me felt at home.

Good stay in good location”

We enjoyed our stay here for just one night. Staff were friendly and courteous. Only problem is the wifi would only work in the hotel bar, none of the specific floor wifis worked on any of our devices, we mentioned this at the reception however with the language barrier it wasn't resolved.

Exceptional”

Nice place; big room; super comfy big bed; friendly helpful staff; quite near train station and lots of cafes and places to eat nearby. Bathroom was a bit smelly (keep the door closed) and water took quite a while to get hot. Entrance is off an alley and could be a bit hard to find; address wouldn’t come up when trying to book a Grab bike. All in all I would stay here again.

This Hotel stays at the center of City, good choice for biz trip but room and facilities are so so. Pricing is acceptable

nice and cheap hotel with well equipped. However the car park is very small with only 2 parking lots. The rest is very good

Best night sleep ever”

Last minute booking for two nights. Bedroom was spacious and clean, bed was the softest we'd had in all places we've stayed in Vietnam. Staff were helpful but we did have a little language barrier, which they tried their best to overcome with Google translate. Facilities are not what hotel state. We could not locate the gym, bar or hot tub. The restaurant was completely closed so no food available. The location is not bad, close to a shopping centre. Ok for a night or two.

Pro's price, valet, breakfast was tasty, had CNN Con's beds, room cramped, shower didnt work well, wifi spotty.

Good value for money, decent room although without a window. Check-in was a bit of a hassle due to national holiday busyness.

Clean, comfy bed, hot shower. My boyfriend used the gym which he said was one of the best gyms he has ever used! Staff only spoke a little English.

Not as per other reviews”

It took us a while to locate the hotel as it's hidden in an alley. Check-in was rather quick, but the reception held my passport throughout my stay and only returned upon check-out even though I requested it. That's strange to me. The room has moldy smell when we opened the door. Saw a little cockroach on the bed upon checked-in. Thereafter, a big cockroach found in the toilet entrance. Definitely will not return to this hotel again.

No breakfast even though we paid for it ”

We were only passing through and choose this hotel as it was reasonably close to bus station and because it came with breakfast. Location turned out to be ok, cleanliness was not great though. And we never received breakfast even though it was supposed to be included. The staff spoke almost no English but from what we gathered it was because the chef hadn't turned up to work. In broken English we were told "the chef do not eat breakfast" and no we wouldn't get any money back in return. The staff were also no help in directing us to the right bus station either.

Not Great”

Bed was really comfortable but no bar as advertised. Lack of English made simple requests for information difficult. Breakfast was ok. Reasonable value for money. Not the easiest hotel to locate.
