"Nice hotel with a great location in the old quarter just few minutes away from major tourists sites (Hoan Kiem Lake, Prison Hao Lo, Hanoi train street, etc...). The hotel is new so everything was clean. Breakfast buffet is good and pretty diverse. The only problem we had was a very bad WiFi connection in our room. We couldn't connect to internet in our room. WiFi worked perfectly in the lobby and in the restaurant though. The staff is very nice and friendly, especially May and Catherine. "

"Far exceeding my expectation! I stayed 5 days in a clean and convenient room. There is a lovely open space all the way to the glass roof that allows sun lights to fill the hallways. I was greeted at the marticulous lobby filled with comfortable tables and chairs that accommodate many relaxed guests and business groups alike. The swimming pool on rooftop is just as romantic as ever with soft music playing throughout the area. The services are designed to enhance your every pleasant moments, especially the solo piano performance in the evening. The walls are covered with classic and unique art creativities that reflect traditional values of Ha Noi. The rooftop is my favorite relaxation spot where I can discover the true beauty of Hoan Kiem lake after dinner. The bar staff always found a way to create a perfect drink for me, whether it was a light alcoholic cocktail or a fresh fruit beverage. I don't remember the last time I enjoyed the moments away from family like this trip. Only regret is that I was unable to locate a unique Ha Noi traditional musical performance; however, we shouldn't hold Apricot hotel responsible for that, I suppose. I stayed at this same location 18 years ago, under previous hotel called Phu Gia. I enjoyed it then, and I enjoy much more now. The price is definitely the most surprising of all. A must for everyone."

"The location was excellent just right next to the Hoan Kiem Lake and during weekends the road in front of the hotel is closed to cars allowing locals and tourist to enjoy various activities around the lake. The room size was good and the bed was vert comfortable. Breakfast was excellent with decent buffet selection and guest can also order from their ala carte menu which is included. Finally special thanks to all the staffs who made our stay memorable especially the manager and also Quan... Will definitely stay here again if we visit Hanoi again!"

"The Golden Lakeside Hotel was fantastic – clean, spacious, and with a location so close to Hoan Kiem Lake and within walking distance of all the Old Quarter sites it was just the place for us. The staff were exceptional, efficient and friendly. Mr Son from the tourist desk organised our travel to several places much cheaper than we could have gotten them on the net or at home. The doormen, whose smiles would light any room, helped with our luggage, and shopping and was always very pleased to see us. They were all an extremely friendly and welcoming group of people who made our whole trip to Vietnam a memorable one. The travel desk at the Golden Lakeside Hotel was efficient and everything they arranged for us was first class, completely error free and ran smoothly. The buffet breakfast that is included in the room rate was delicious and plentiful. Every day we would find ourselves going back for seconds. With the free internet and computer access available to guests, this hotel is extremely good value for money and deserving of a higher star rating – it was certainly amazing value for money and will be my choice again when I can fit in a return trip to Vietnam."

"I booked this hotel last-minute and it was one of few available options. It's a few minutes walking from the lake, right in the heart of the Old Quarter. I was "upgraded" to a room with windows, although the view from the windows is nothing worth bragging about. However, the kindness of the staff and their continuous willingness to make every effort to ensure you have a pleasant stay is one I haven't experienced thus far. My first night there I had no time for dinner and starved at 11PM, called reception - who offered to get KFC or what not, after which I requested something local. About 15 minutes later the bellboy knocked and gave me one of the best tasting chicken noodle soups I have had (45k for the soup, 25k for the service) which outmatched all the >100k foods I had prior to that in restaurants (not necessarily because I was starving). The team is very young and very kind, and made up whatever may be lacking in the room (which to me was none)."

"i have wanted to book a more expensive 4 star hotel. but looking back i’m glad i didn’t. this is a really nice boutique hotel. so much cheaper and money well spent. the staff is very helpful and always smiling. the room size is adequate. bathroom toiletries are provided except shaving kit. so don’t forget to bring your own. and i don’t hear any street noise others are complaining about. it’s right in the heart of the old quarters. and most attractions are within walking distance from the hotel. i have no problem walking to the ho chi minh complex. take a stroll along the hoan kiem lake in the morning or evening. the lake is so near to the hotel that you can go there anytime. want a drink and see the mad traffic of hanoi? city view or highlands café is next to the lake. you’ll not run out of places to shop; the 36 streets is right at your doorstep, night market only 2 blocks away. for food, the famous pho 10 @ ly quoc su street and bun cha @ nha hang dac kim, hang manh street are just beside the hotel. and don’t forget cha ca la vong and quan an ngon, they’re so near the hotel.
