Excellent value”
Garden bungalows are great value as they are right on the beach side (although at high tide there is no beach, the waves crash against the steps/wall of the resort) and 2 seconds from the pool so very convenient esp with small kids. A small resort with only a few bungalows so it did not feel busy or crowded. The rooms are very clean and basic with a fridge, fan and air con. The breakfast consists of one choice from a menu rather than a buffet, but there are plenty of choices. We stayed on for a total of 8 nights after initially only booking 2 as we really liked the set up. We had to move for one night to the hillside suite, these are located across the road and although the rooms are more spacious, they were also very light. I would recommend the garden bungalow over the hillside suite. It is about a 15-20 min walk to the dong vui food court and the local market, but you can also get a bus to Mui ne or Phan Thiet. It is a great choice for those travelling on a budget.

Generally the whole long street beside beach is full of hotel and resort,but Hoang Kim is the one that is nice to stay, pleasant staff, good location, surrounded by restaurants and quite cheap. There is even a private pool in the resort

Affordable and nice”
It was a family trip in Tet holiday but we didn't book room in advance. The price wasreasonable at that time (1mil400 VND per night for Family Hillside room, including breakfast), especially when almost every other resort had been fully booked. Hillside room block is just across the road, the beach is nice since it shares with two other expensive neighboring resorts. They have a small pool, which is also nice 'cause it's clean. Breakfast includes one main dish (you choose from a list: pho, omlette&bread, sausage&bread, etc.) and one drink (iced tea, coffee, etc.), plus one plate of fruit. However, it's quite far from the centre part of Mui Ne, which has all kind of restaurants, coffeeshops and bars (you can walk there, about two killometers), but the highlight of it is the beach, since most big resort brands would take all of the nice beach with extremely expensive price (unless you go on tour from an independent agency). Generally, I'd highly recommend it (except for the restaurant).

Exceptional”
Hotel locate in the middle of Mui Ne downtown, very close to many travel agencies , easy for transportation. Also have many restaurants nearby. Staffs are really really friendly, it's like a family business hence very warm welcome especially for the staff at the lobby counter ( i guess he's the owner ). He can communicate in English very well. Free breakfast is included, room is clean with reasonable price.

Value for money”
Could not complain about anything at this hotel. The rooms are cleaned/bed linen changed/fresh towels every day. The staff are friendly, the room we had was a very generous size, hillside view - although these rooms are across the road from the main resort area, but for us, it was very quiet and private and not a problem. The pool area has an adequate number of comfortable sun loungers, and is an added bonus. So all in all for the price, it was great. Would definitely stay again at this hotel.

Simple, clean, small family hotel”
For travelers who are fine with simple and clean, and like a small hotel, it's perfect. It's pretty good value for money. The pool is small, but clean, and includes a tiny area for children. Deck chairs are a bit old, but plenty. It's a bit Bring-Your-Own. So there are no frivolities like extra water, nice bathroom kit, water cooker, nor beach towels. But there is a small fridge and a TV (which we didn't watch so I don't know if there is cable.) The breakfast was simple, but fine. A variety of egg choices, some pho-soup, and pancakes. A different flavor of fresh juice every morning (with lots of sugar). Staff was helpful, but was skimpy on the smiles. The beach is more "local" with a mix of fishermen and tourists. It's a little bit down farther past the main Mui Ne area - which we liked because it is much quieter. There are enough restaurants in the vicinity, and 70,000 vnd taxi ride later takes you to the very touristy part.

poor staff, average hotel in all other facets”
Maybe we got spoiled by the staff at most other places we stayed in Vietnam, but the staff here were not friendly/helpful. It was the only place in a 3 week holiday that the staff did not offer to help my 5 month pregnant wife with her bags (up 3 flights of stairs). They attempted to overcharge us on our food order. We bought train tickets from an outside travel agency who dropped the tickets in at reception. Despite asking numerous times if the tickets had been dropped off, it was not until we had to call the travel agent on his home number and have him state emphatically that he had dropped the tickets off that the tickets suddenly materialised from the wallet of the reception staff. Bad experience yes, but after having lovely hotel staff everywhere else we went in Vietnam (mainly 1 and 2 star hotels), I would definitely not recommend this Hoang Kim Golden Resort.

Nice stay”
The only pb is Internet connection, WiFi was ok but sometimes no Internet access, maybe not fault of hotel, but noticed it happened after problems with electricity gone away even if they have a generator. The rooms were not always done because we were inside but they left towel and toilet paper outside or give us. The beach is narrow that place and as I don't know how to swim not went a lot on the beach but enjoyed pool and sunbathing around it. Family run hotel, so there were having a young children among the customers, but it's human :) , don't expect a palace for small price, no problem for me.

OK but not amazing”
Disappointing: There's no beach, only the sea. The swimming pool is quite small. At this price, you can get far better in Mui Ne, for sure. The room was clean but not really the restaurant, and they kept our luggage after checkout in an unsecured place. We were 4, 2 rooms, one of which was out of the hotel, in a house at the oposit of the road. Pros: cheap, some breakfast meals are OK (not a buffet), the receptionist was nice and helpful whereas we arrived quite late, it's easily located and you can rent a car, it's quite cheap too.

Central location, nice pool, step right into ocean. The owner is amazingly helpful, we checked in late at night no complaints, rented scooter and jeep tour through him for a cheap price. Would 100% stay here again.

Cosy hotel”
Its a place value for money. Pool is great because the deepest area is 1.7m but they do not have pool lights for the night so the pool looks dark and scary to swim in the evening. The hotel is close to the beach and they have nice sunbeds which I can lay on whole day. Love the closeness to the beach. Room is okay at the new buildings. the first floor has those nice huts for couple stays. Room is clean but feels like a residence for the building room. Café don't have nice food, visit nearby seafood restaurant for food. Hotel is man by a family, so its abit noisy when their kids run around. Host is shy but kind and helpful. GREAT place for its money and serenity.

Owner was super nice and helpful. Staff always smiling. Gardens around the hotel lovely. Location great for restaurants. Pool clean and inviting. Large rooms that are clean. Only thing I could say is that the mattresses need changing as springs can be a bit lumpy.

No beach and little overpriced”
Usually opt for mega budget options and this was my treat to myself - figured if I paid a little more I'd have something more. However, really have to say not really sure what I had paid the extra for.....unless it was the fridge in the room? The staff were pleasant, the rooms were large and clean but otherwise things were very average and actually less enjoyable than places I have paid one third the price for. 'Beach-side' is a bit of a misnomer as there IS no beach on this strip where the hotel is located. The sea crashes straight into the hotel wall no matter whether high or low tide. Was glad for the pleasant pool area with plenty of loungers otherwise there would have been nowhere to chill. Nothing wrong as such just plenty of places which give as much, if not more, for less money.
