we stayed at the hoi an riverside resort & spa for 4 nights. it was a wonderful and relaxing end to our busy holiday. i would certainly visit hoi an again and recommend to my friends and family to stay at this resort. it is very homey and well kept. the resort does not appear to be new but it is kept immaculately and the rooms are gorgeous. we loved the space in our room. having breakfast in the morning overlooking the river was serene. i was at first worried that we weren't staying on the beach. but after staying here and riding past other resorts etc i am very very glad that we stayed here and on the river. it was gorgeous!

Romantic, charming hotel”
the hoi an riverside resort was probably our favorite place that we stayed in vietnam, and we saw a lot of the country! our room looked over the quiet river and rice fields beyond and the view was framed by a flame tree in full bloom. we had an enormous bathroom beautifully tiled in jade green, although i have to admit there was no tub and the shower did drain a bit slowly. it was more than made up for by the romance and atmosphere of the room though, and the lovely fresh flowers that greeted us (we had mentioned we were on a trip for our anniversary). the bed was extremely comfortable and the room was cool and airy. the breakfast served at the riverside restaurant were wonderful and the staff were so kind and friendly. the pool was perfect and hardly used. the hotel arranged free shuttles into town for us to shop and sight-see, as well as several tours, and would have been happy to do more if we had wanted it. we also enjoyed a sunset river tour with just the two of us arranged by the hotel. highly recommended.

Peaceful Hotel with super friendly staff”
This is the second time I stayed at the Hoi An Riverside Resort and Spa. It is around 3-4 km from the old quarter, so the location is very peaceful and seems like you are in the countryside as you are surrounded by fields. There is a free hotel shuttle bus to both the old quarter and beach (although these could be more frequent), otherwise only a 2-3 USD taxi ride to the old quarter. The room is beautiful, dark wood panelling, tv and dvd player and your own balcony. Breakfast has a lot of choices with lots of fresh fruit. Staff were so friendly and lovely.

my friend and i stayed at the hoi an riverside resort & spa for two nights. the free shuttle the resort provides to either the beach or into town is great - although more frequent times to and from town would be good. the room was big, clean and matched the description provided on the website. the breakfast was a mix of western and vietnamese, and catered to a variety of tastes. would stay there again.

Excellent and Great Value”
It is a long way from Hoi An town but if you are prepared to hire a moped (which is highly recommended) then this hotel is an excellent choice for the price. The riverside setting is peaceful and is stunning - a great location to relax. We also found the breakfast to be superior compared to other hotels in the same price range (we stayed at three other similar priced/rated Agoda hotels). I was surprised by the reviews which said the rooms seemed tired, our room was very well designed, clean and comfortable: it didn't seem worn or tired to me. Our only complaint was the gym, though sufficient it came with only a fan (not air con) so in summer it's stiffling! We would definitely stay at this hotel again.

Quiet and relaxing”
I was looking for a relaxing quiet hotel as a base for exploring Hoi An town and the surrounding countryside. The Hoi An Riverside Hotel & Spa was perfect for this. It is far enough from town and located on a side river so it is quiet and peaceful. The hotel offers a free shuttle to Hoi An town about 3km away as well as to a sister resort on the beach about 1km away. The room was large and clean, tastefully furnished and located directly overlooking the River Do. It was wonderful to just sit and watch the fishermen and the farmers across the river. I stayed in a superior riverside room which is highly recommended, it was private and quiet. The main buildings of the resort block the majority of the traffic noise so the rest of the hotel feels and looks like a garden setting.

a very romatic hotel in Hoi An”
Hoi An Riverside Resort is very recommendable. Rooms and location can be described as very romantic. The staff is wonderful, esspecially the ladies at reception. The hotel is impeccable and can be recommended to honeymooners esspecially. One warning to all international guests. Her rates are also double to any regular vietnamese rates for laundry services or other services. Just beside the hotel is a vietnamese travel company and many other more trustworthy companies with wonderful vietnamese people,

Excellent value, riverside location”
The Hoi An Riverside Resort is well located between the beach and town center. We reserved for three nights, liked it so much that we extended our stay. Rented a scooter/motorcycle for $6 a day and used it to get into town which worked out really well, no hassles, no licence necessary, easy to park great flexibility. The hotel is a peaceful break from the energy of town, great breakfast included, complimentary boat ride on the river, big, clean, well appointed room with a balcony overlooking the river. Amazing value. We loved this facility!

A Wonderful Experience”
This was my second stay here at this beautiful river resort and obviously I would not have come back if I didn't enjoy my first. The first was in 2008. Even though Hoi An has grown tremendously since with many new hotels, the beauty and peacefulness were extremely important to me after long days of doing the tourist running around. I looked forward each day to return to my peaceful retreat by the the river. The manager Na was especially warm and greaful and took care of my every need. I loved having a little cottage like room to retreat to instead of the newer tall structures hotels which have been built since my first visit in 2008. The grounds are beuatifly kept and strolling back to the room is like a walk in a park. So it may sound like I was paid or I work there but honestly I just love the hotel and it's staff. So if you ever visit this little wonderful village of Hoi An check out the peaceful paradise of Hoi An River Resort sincerely Bob from another parisdise Santa Monica California Cheers and Peace

This is my 4th visit over many years to Hoi An Riverside resort. It is piece of paradise away from the town where you can relax around a beautiful pool overlooking a river and rice fields with the water buffalo and ducks. I always choose an upstairs room where you can sit on a balcony and watch the rural landscape. It is cheap to get a taxi to and from town. The free transport to and from town is OK but not usually when we want it. Don't catch the free bus to the beach as you will be very disappointed once you get there. It has had a storm and has washed the beach away and many of the cafes that were along there. The beach is still at An Ban Beach. The staff are vey helpful. Wifi is best by the pool rather than the far end rooms.. but what a view to show the family at home from the pool.

Great resort with excellent staff”
We were very happy with the level of comfort and service provided by this resort. The rooms were beautiful with lovely views of the river and rice fields to enjoy. A very good breakfast was also included in the room rate. The resort also had many features such as a lovely pool area, gym and massage services. However, it was the staff that made our stay their extremely pleasant. As I had been attempting to speak some limited Vietnamese, Uyen, one of the receptionists, took it upon herself to try and improve my language skills. She was also very helpful in providing advice on activities such as sightseeing, good tailors and much more. I thought that the prices in the restaurant were a bit above the usual, but not exorbitant. Alcoholic drinks were about twice the price of other places in town. I would not hesitate to recommend Hoi An Riverside Resort & Spa to others travelling to that location.

Relaxing, Quiet and Ideally Located”
My husband and I always stay here when we have a weekend away in Hoi An. In the past, I never specified which 'bed type' we required, but I suppose the hotel is becoming more popular and we were actually downgraded on our last visit because the room type that we paid for was only available with twin beds. It was not a huge deal, however, because all of the rooms at Hoi An Riverside are gorgeous. We will not let this stop us from returning in the future :)

Relaxing Hoi An Riverside”
Myself and 2 friends stayed for 10 days at Hoi An Riverside over Christmas. From the moment we arrived it was an absolute pleasure. The staff are some of the friendliest people I have ever come across and were helpful with every small wish and need we had. As we stayed for 10 days we were given a list of long stay benefits which included a free meal at the restaurant, a complimentary drink, airport transfer, discounts on the spa and tour services and more. The hotel is beautiful. We had rooms looking over the river. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. If you are looking for quiet I would ask for a room by the river as the hotel is close to the road. Our rooms were nice and quiet. The breakfast area right on the river is absolutely stunning and breakfast is delicious. The hotel is a bit out of town but there is a shuttle. We used it some of the time but it only runs once every 4 or so hours. A taxi from town to the hotel is very reasonable though (58 000VND - less than $3 US). I would definitely stay here again.

Peaceful hotel on a beautiful location”
Hoi An Riverside Resort & Spa was a good hotel to relax and have a break. Staff is helpful, responsive and polite. The rooms are big, airy and clean. Beautiful pool, big enough to swim comfortably. The hotel being located a 10 minutes drive from the town and equally to the beach the free bus service was appreciated. Good selection of local and continental food for breakfast with an excellent view on the river. Food is ok, but I would recommend to have lunch and diners in the nearby restaurants.

Nice hotel. A little bit outside, calm&peaceful”
It was a nice stay at the Hoi An Riverside Resort&Spa. But be aware: it's a little outside, so you have to use the Hotel shuttle to get in town. The room is beautiful, the bath room is huge. It's all in colonial style. Costs for laundry are high. The service is good nevertheless. One hint: don't book the city tour here, it's not worth it.

Excellent hotel, beautiful location by river”
This was a beautiful holiday resort hotel, with regular shuttle services to old Hoi An with its shopping, good restaurants and old buildings (3 km),and to a long sandy ocean beach at Cua Bai(1.5 km). The rooms are very comfortable, many overlooking the river, garden or swimming pool,and some with a balcony. The hotel rents bicycles for abaout $4 a day and this makes it easy to explore the area and town. The dining room is open with a garden and river view. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Hoi An.

Hoi An Riverside Hotel-Vietnam”
We had heard good things about this hotel from friends who had stayed there and overall were not disappointed. Despite being a few kilometres from the old historic town of Hoi An where all the action is, we had no trouble getting a taxi (US$4) there as the advertised shuttle bus service from the hotel to town and back, we discovered, had only recently been discontinued. We opted for a river-view room, a room situated right on the river bank in a building of six units. From there we observed life in the paddy fields opposite as farmers and their water buffalo tilled their fields as well as watch fishermen in the small boats cast their nets in the river. The room was very spacious, had a small outside balcony, was clean with all the usual inclusions including air conditioning, ceiling fan (not working), bathrobes, slippers, shoe cleaning gear, extra pillows, safe, tea-making facilities (no milk though), fresh fruit platter on arrival, bottled water supplied daily and laundry facilities (alternate cheaper laundry next door at US$1 per kilo). It also had a mini bar but the fridge smelt as it appears it was not working and suffered being closed. We are not great mini bar users and waived complaining as it really did not bother us. Bathroom was good although at times the drains were smelly as they tend to be in Vietnam - it seems some plumbing does not have adequate s-bends to prevent gases escaping up from the sewers. The staff were wonderful and you could not hope to meet a more friendly and helpful bunch with whom we had no problem communicating. Despite our expectations for food, we were to be disappointed. We ate at the restaurant one night and, despite a substantial reduction to eat there again on our last night, we declined. Instead, we opted for one of the many excellent restaurants in town. The reason? We ordered wine (very limited selection) and had to send two bottles back because they were spoiled.

Incredibly nice stay”
we loved the layout - scattered bungalows (each with multiple hotel rooms) in a beautifully landscaped garden on the river. our ground floor river view room was very nice, with a spectacular view. breakfast was good, and served in a lovely open terrace dining room. the pool was beautiful and always the perfect temperature. the staff was uniformly nice and professional and we had no trouble communicating in english. the hotel is a bit outside of hoi an, but we actually preferred that. it was incredibly easy to get to the beach or into town, by bicycle (we rented across the street), the free shuttle, or a cheap cab ride. cons: food, tours, rentals etc. at the hotel are way overpriced. but, fortunately, there are plenty of alternatives nearby. we also had an unpleasant smell in our bathroom at random times (we dubbed it "the swamp gas" and generally noticed it when we first came back in the afternoon from a day of sightseeing), which we managed easily enough by shutting the door and turning on the fan. and, most trivial of all gripes: the exercise room is basically a tiny greenhouse, making it too limited and too hot to be much use.

Great boutique hotel in a convenient location!”
Riverside is a great option in Hoi An, as the location gives you access to both the old town and the beach. The rooms are spacious and well decorated. I especially love the small balcony on the river - great place to enjoy the view! The prices are very reasonable, staff are helpful, and the gorgeous pool makes it hard to leave!

Ten years after still an excellent ressort”
Riverside used to be the best hotel in Hoi An ten years ago and it has kept its standards through the years even if some 5 stars are now available. It still retain its title as the best boutique resort. We had a great price / quality offer for riverside room. I strongly suggest you to take riverside as garden side could be noisy if you get a room near the road.
