Too expensive for what you get”
Most of the resorts on Koh Mak are located at the beach- so is Holiday Beach Resort. Beside that there is not much that could justify the high price. The so called "Deluxe Bungalows" are small, pretty basic rooms without TV. There is a bed (with mosquitonet), a wardrobe and a small fridge. That's it. You will only have wifi in your room if you are in one of the two or three bungalows near the restaurant. Rooms are not cleaned every day but you will get fresh towels on demand. There are many resorts with better comfort for the same price.

Nice place”
It was a good location on a nice beach but needs room renovation. Many many hotels/ resorts in Thailand are this way. I do not expect "developed" world accommodations. In fact I like to be in Thailand. However, if they don't renovate it WILL be purchased by a conglomerate and become that which Is Not Thailand. The staff were great!! They dressed like Thais and and latitude to make decisions,, a conglomerate will not allow dress or decisions to remain Thai. Holiday Beach had customers first,, "bang" for buck third. Not so a conglomerate.

Fantastic place to enjoy my holiday.”
The location is very good. It's near the Ao Nid pier and many restaurants and shops. At the same time the place is very quiet and private. The manager is very helpful and picked us up/dropped us off from drop off. They have a motorcycle, kayak, paddle board and wind surf board for rent. The price is reasonable. On the beach with large grassed area. Nice place for relaxing. Highly recommend it.

Excellent”
We had the “Deluxe Bungalow” for the first two nights what was really great. The house was comfortable and clean and really big. We wanted to stay for a third night so we had to move to a smaller bungalow which was not that comfortable obviously. All in all the stay and the beach was great!

Sandflys make relaxing at the beach to a horror!!!!!!”
The resort is very nice but the island is non spectaculiar and the invasion of horrible sandflys made us step back urgently to koh chang!!!!

Four of six nights on koh mak”
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The mountains bikes were a real plus. Cycling and exploring the island was great. A morning kayaking over to the islands was fantastic. The music at the art house only 15 minutes away fantastic.

Very good . There are 3 levels of accommodation and we stayed in the most basic and you must accept you get what you pay for. Considering the rate we paid it was good value. Location is superb along with the staff.

hideous!! ”
i was staying for 2 nights in the resort and regret about that for each moment me and my wife were there: the toilet looked like it haven't been clean for 3 months. the towels were wet (as id someone used it just before we came, the sink was dirty of mouth wash, the food in the restaurant is amazingly expensive and the ac remote control was broken. in a matter of fact if i wouldn't recommend the resort for any one! if i could i would have booked for another place and got reimbursed. finally- dont count on the rate that agoda give away here- it does not (!) reflect the actual state of the resort. thats the last time i reserve a hostel using agoda!!

gepflegte Anlage, der Bungalow in dem ich untergebracht war, ist nur minimal ausgestattet (Klimaanlage, Ventilator, Moskitonetz) es fehlen Ablagemöglichkeiten. Positiv: Abholung vom Pier und zurück ist inkl. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich, auch wenn der Chef etwas brummig wirkt😉 Etwas zwiespältig finde ich, das alle dortigen Ausgaben(Essen, Motorbike, Kayak etc) auf Deckel gehen, weil man bei etwas längerem Aufenthalt leicht den Überblick über die Ausgaben verliert. Insgesamt etwas überhöhte Preise im Vergleich zu anderen

Lage gut, Personal Katastrophe”
Man versuchte uns eine minderwertigere und kleinere Hütte als gebucht unterzujubeln. Nach langem Hin und Her mit dem Manager bekam ich dann eine größere. Das Hotel liegt sehr schön direkt am Strand, man fühlt sich aber eher als lästiger Eindringling als als Gast. Die versprochenen Pflegemittel, auch z. B. Tissues, gab es nicht. Handtuchwechsel und Zimmerreinigung nur auf Anforderung. Wir haben uns dort nicht wohl gefühlt und würden keinesfalls wieder buchen.

Tolle Anlage mit kleinen Abstrichen”
Das Holiday Beach ist direkt am Strand.Der sehr schön ist.Der Strand wird nur leider nicht gesäubert, wie in anderen Anlagen.Die Anlage ist ansonsten sehr gepflegt. Man hat von allen, bis auf die ganz kleinen Hütten in der 2. Reihe direkten Blick aufs Meer. Reinigung der Zimmer, wie häufig in Thailand, nur wenn man bescheid gibt. Das Essen war nicht so toll bis schlecht. Aber drum herum gibt es andere Anlagen und ein paar Restaurants. Man findet etwas.Das Personal war ausgesprochen höflich.Wir hatten den Coconut Bungalow.Der war sehr schön gelegen mit eigenem kleinen Strandabschnitt.Leider ist das Leitungswasser in der Anlage auffällig eisenhaltig, so dass wir richtig rote Fingernägel bekommen haben und unsere weiße Kleidung Rostverfärbt war.Andere Besucher in den anderen Bungalows hatten das Problem wohl nicht. Für die angebotenen Strandliegen aus Holz gibt es leider keine Auflagen.Alternativ gibt es aber noch Strandstühle.

Excellent beachfront location. Beautiful garden. Quiet place; friendly and kind staff. The room's very small, old furnishings and old bathroom. Dirty beach. Many plastic waste everywhere.
