Find hotels near Hon Gai Port in Hạ Long, Vietnam

Staff is friendly but they cannot help us in booking a tour to visit Halong Bay, I still don't know why. Rooms are clean with comfortable bed and other equipments. Rooms in a high floor have a little view to the Hon Gai Port and Ha Long Bay. The food of breakfast is quite limited and not so fresh. The location is on the other side of the bridge and so far from the port to visit Tuan Chau.

This hotel is in the Hon Gai area in Halong city, 7-8 km away from the tourist pier. It's an excellent option if you need to go to Hon Gai for business or family, but it's difficult for tourists, no travel agencies nearby and a few read-to-eat food options in the area.

My family and I (five people) just completed a two night/three day trip on Viola Cruises in Bai Tu Long Bay for Christmas. The crew, the place and the experience were unforgettable. However, I was disappointed because Agoda advertised a queen size bed and it was not. Agoda has some ways to go with advertising professionally. When I followed up with Viola Cruises, they also confirmed that my queen size bed was 180 cm. In America, a queen size is about 193cm. If you book this, book with a different travel website so you are not disappointed with the bed width. My husband, 5-yo daughter and I ended up squeezing in a double (at best) and I did not rest well. I payed $100 more for this pleasure. Other than the truth in advertising, the overall experience was unforgettable. We had Lucky for Christmas and he was awesome. He is as good as they say. Also, Tuan was wonderful. He went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable and even dropped us off at the Ha Long Bay bus station so we could get to Haiphong and on to Cat Bi airport. The rest of the crew was just as amazing. I would highly recommend a second night stay if you can. It is well worth it. Viola Cruises is thorough and professional. The cook and the staff prepared many delicious meals. Joseph on the Lemon Cruise was a fabulous host as well. The ship is beautiful and it has the historic Indochina junk nostalgia.

staff in the cruise are friendly.. our tour guide, his name is pronounced as “we” is very good and funny.. tour’s never boring.. he set the right expectations on the “drinks” charges and gave good information on hanoi’s “best”.. he also manage the time that we can still rest along the way.. the tour’s activities is laid back, not so hectic which is what we want since we have a toddler with us.. our room is clean and beds are comfortable.. boat’s “sleeping” area has lesser boats around, not crowded.. can still take pictures of the landscape with no boats around.. we hope to come back soon..

From the time of the booking till the end of the trip, we were highly pleased with their professional and high touch service. On the day of our cruise, we were promptly picked up from our hotel in the Old Quarter. Around 12 noon, we were warmly greeted and were taken to the tender to be transferred to the ship. When we reached our cabin, our luggage was ready at the door. Mr. Thomas re-checked our dietary requirements, before starting our lunch service. Food was of very good quality. For the most part of two days, we hardly saw other cruise ships along our sailing routes. The highlight of our trip was the private dinner they arranged for the two of us. In the morning, they had Tai Chi demonstration on the sun-deck. Thereafter, we went on an excursion to a cave with a view point. Thereafter, we checked out of our room, and were served brunch. We were transferred back to the harbor, and by limousine back to Hanoi. They were highly professional in all of their interactions!

The hotel has a very weird smell both on the floor and inside the room. It's very far from the beach and the restaurants, but near the supermarket and the city center. The good point about this hotel is the surrounding street is not crowded compare to other hotel

Couldn't say enough good things about this hotel. The room was amazing and clean. My boyfriend and I rented motobikes so getting places was not an issue. We had a room on the back side which had a view to the ocean and limestones. The staff was very nice and helpful. We have a translator app that became helpful. Remember you are in another country so to expect them to speak English is just plain ignorant. If your traveling be resourceful and don't rely on everyone to help you. I couldn't say enough good things about this hotel. We only booked our room for 2 days to give us time to look around and see if we found something we liked better but we got lucky and found the best place.

The place quite huge. They give me the big room with sea view, although I didn't book that one. I really Enjoy 4 nights stay here. Thank you

we really like the scenery from our room balcony. We stayed in a bay view room which was so clean and big. Dont be surprised if you find the bed a bit hard since it is the vietnamese standard. The location was great if you enjoy watching beautiful beach and halong islands. If you prefer a hotel in the town center with all convenience and food, this might mot be the one. Very nice stay. Worth our money

Good location if you want to stay in Hon Gai (part of Halong where most of the locals live, contrary to the hotel town of Bai Cay), next to a local market and the bay, very nice hotel room, very clean, worth the money

It was a good idea to take this tour. I have to say that I was lucky to have good weather on my days because last day started raining. Please check before you book the weather forecast 10 days in advance, is fairly accurate and will guarantee a pleasant stay. They pick me up from my hotel in Hanoi at time. The hard part is the 4 hours driving to Halon Bay, anyway after you reach the point and jump into the boat you start feeling much better. The boat has all the facilities except the wifi they offered and never seen. You are basically cut off from the world. The best were the food. 12 courses at least for each meal and the quality was the best!! 100% to the chef. We had a lot of fun with the cooking classes, kayaking and fishing at night. i will recommend to take the 3 days/2nights package. One night is not enough to enjoy the journey.

Meals need to be changed from set menu to less courses and a couple of choices for each course. Disappointed we were on a large floating motel as we were expecting a small traditional boat. We would have chosen a different operator had we known this. The stoneware crockery needs updating.

despite the charter cruise was cancelled due to new policies at Halongbay, the cruise company helped us by arranging our cruise and stay into another charter cruise, hassle free. the only complaint was the presence of bed bugs despite the clean room and clean bedsheets. Ovwrall awesome and unforgettable experience.

What can I say? Lemon cruise was an outstanding cruise!! We got a killer discount deal on agoda. 2 days 1 night tour was awesome wouldn't recommend doing anything more as it gets boring and same thing after while. We had to pay $30USD for the 2 of us for transportation which was hidden fees but still good price for everything. You get to see Vung Vieng Fishing village and do 1-2hrs kayaking there which is beautiful. Food on Boat was 9/10. very good. No swimming tho it's banned (sucks). Get to see a cave next morning which is nice but very overcrowded (1hr lineup). We got lucky only 6ppl including me and wife on boat so was more a private boat cruise for price of public really. would recommend booking if you get a good discount on agoda. Also alcohol/drinks not included you must pay for them. I would give it 9/10 was worth the money and beautiful Ha Long Bay is a must see!! Hope my review helps your decision. Cheers

We booked a 50sqm suite for family of 3. Was told by Oriental to pay additional USD130 directly to hotel for my son staying in same room without any extra bed. It was really costly but we hv little choice as we prepaid Agoda. We hv a big balcony with a spa bed and jaccuzi in the bathroom which are not practical since most time we were out. The program is tight we were only given 45 min to do kayaking etc. The meals menu were good thanks to the chef but we need to pay for our drinks. Only empty glasses were provided for guests to buy drinks from the drink menu. Not even drinking water was provided during meal time. This makes it necessary for guests to buy their own drinks. The crew & tour gude Long were friendly and helpful. Overall, it was expensive cruise, not worth the money spent.

I had a great time! But no one in the hotel or surrounding area spoke any English. The website said they did. I found out info on tours and travel from a travel centre about 20 walk away and taxi drivers. The hotel is new ... so best to print out a map as people don't know it.. I recommend the hotel but if you speak English the staff cant help you. There are places to eat near bye.... only great local food.... . It is a 15 min drive from the Halong Bay boat tours...

We arrived at about 7pm from Hanoi and the staff were friendly and accommodating. The room was tiny but clean which was good. One lady staff speaks good English and we don't have any communication problem. The location was great along the main road along Hong Gai Ward Port just 5 mins walk to the bay area where you can have dinner and have some drinks along the bay walk. It's also near Vincom Mall for shopping and across is the wharf where you can rent a boat to roam around the bay. We enjoyed our stay in this hotel.

Stay was ok. not exactly centralised, far from center. Hotel often had power outage. so it was warm in room. Very quiet. high floor nice view to halong bay

The location and Staff are nice. But the room is really dark and there is no breakfast in the hotel. Also it's really noisy in the evening even at 11pm when others customers coming back and talking loudly.

Booked 3days 2nights on the boat and we had an awesome experience from start to finish. We were picked up from our hotel in Hanoi. The room on the boat was great and alot better than expected, we had one on the top deck. 2 nights on the boat was perfect for us. On the second day we were taken to a day boat (where we joined guests from other cruises who also choose 2 nights on their boat) to explore Lan Ha Bay. It was very relaxing and much more quieter than the first day. With so much competition for these cruises, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Seasun :) The intineray was followed and it was organised very well! Thanks again!

I stayed here purely for the reason that it was close to Mount Poem which has the most incredible view over Halong Bay from the top. If you're looking for that, this was a nice stay. The place was relatively clean and comfortable. Nothing special but then again, not much is for this price. The staff at reception didn't speak English but were perfectly helpful when I used google translate to ask a question.

I am sure if you travel with family, it can be the best option among Halong cruises. The staff are very helpful and I spent great time in the one-day trip in the cruise.
