Affordable, comfortable & good location”
Overall I am pleased with my stay at Hong Hin Hotel. It is a backpacker hotel, your basic needs are fulfilled: - big, clean and comfortable room - TV, WIFI and fan (all in good condition) - attached bathroom with shower facility Breakfast is not included but there are lenty of coffee shops around. Night time might be a little bit noisy (some karaoke singing)

Good basic option, centrally located”
I got into Ipoh quite late and was glad that Hong Hin was an option close to bus station (15min walk) which I could check in at. Owner is friendly and helpful. Location of this place is excellent. Very easy to start Old Town tour from here. The room I stayed in was large, but very basic. At least it was clean, along with bathroom. This was all I needed as I was just staying for one night. Only negative would be that the hotel is located very close to House Music Club, so you'll hear dim sound of music till quite late, but I didn't find this objectionable. I'd recommend this place for budget travellers who want close access to the main sights in Ipoh. Train station is only 10min walk away, local bus station 15min away (from where you can take other buses to long distance bus terminal).

clean, friendly staff, good value for price”
excellent hotel! we already have lived here for five days. staff are so friendly and always give us good advice. This room is the most biggest room we live and the cheapest as well. Even the location is in old town so you have to walk to city 10-15mins. If you have limited budget and enough time, I really recommend you stay here! air conditioning is good, space is big, room is clean. price is affordable. it's really nice hotel! And it's easy get Uber or Grab. so don't worry about transportation. 😁

Friendly stuff, small but cozy and clean rooms”
We stayed at Hong Hin Hotel for two nights. The bath with shower and western toilet is functional but good, the bed comfortable, the sheets and towels clean and there is still enouqh space to put the laguage etc.

Terrible start but improved slightly”
We arrived at the Hong Hin Hotel to find the reception manned by an unfriendly lady who spoke no English whatsoever. It took her a while to figure why we were there but eventually we were shown to our room. The room was huge but unfortunately the bathroom was horrible. We had a cold shower, a broken toilet and a pipe which delivered yet more cold water. We were given 2 towels which were clean but paper thin and extremely rough, useless at drying for the most part. The bed was comfortable though and when we met the proper staff they were lovely.

Basic room, lack of electricity”
We stayed at Hong Hin Hotel for 2 nights. On the first night there was a power cut which lasted about 4 hours. We went to reception to find out what was going on and due to the limited English spoken by reception it was difficult to have a conversation about this, however we managed to ascertain that they were trying to fix it. We were given a candle so that we had some light. On the second night the same thing happened again but the power cut did not last as long as the previous night. Aside of being in the dark the other downside was that no power meant no fan, which in turn meant very warm room!!!!

Value for money; old-school! ”
This is a great place to stay at if you're the kind that appreciates basic, clean facilities and doesn't need the fluff. The ceiling fan was sufficient to keep the room cool. Water was also available for free at the reception. Staff was also approachable. Oh, and also, the hotel is located in an old building, which means old tiles and retro furniture! It is, however, a 15 minute walk to Old Town/New Town, so stay here only if you don't mind walking in the sun and along the dusty roads.

Basic hotel. Big family room. Very noisy till 3am.”
The hotel is best choice for budget family travellers, as the room is really big and they don't force you to use extra beds for small children. The bathroom is basic and the toilet flush is inefficient. The only drawback is a very loud disco just opposite the hotel. Only stay here if you can sleep in big noise. It's on every day until 3am.

The hotel building is quite old, but if you like to experience the homes in the old housing area, this is a good place. It is walking distance to the old and new town areas in Ipoh. While we were there, the power supply was down for a while.

You get your money's worth by staying here”
It was a little to locate the hotel; but if you are told it is close to the big shopping centre of computer, i is easy to find. It is in the old city area with some good restaurants. The owner is helpful and friendly. Recommended for those budget travellers who have a choice of fan or air conditioned room.

Not bad for a budget hotel”
This hotel has no lift. The tv has no remote control. But the electric switches are old school. No aircond for my room, only fan. And no cupboard. However the toilet is clean. They have a shower and a small water tank. No water hose but the shower host is long enough to do your cleaning business. They provide slippers to be used in the toilet, which I like. They provide towels too, but not the white, fluffy towels like the one in expensive hotels. They have drinking glasses but I couldn't find where the drinking water was. Overall I think this hotel is ok. I don't mind staying here again.

You get what you paid for.”
Staying in hotels in Malaysia compared to the rest of South East Asia is not a cheap affair. For this hotel, you get what you paid for. Very basic and utterly dated. TV reception is poor. Only positive thing is its Wifi. The bathroom is really for the village people. I quite expected it as I didn't want to pay for an expensive place. But, really, my stay in Hatyai for a lower price was much much better. Really, I am not complaining. So whoever wants to stay here, please expect anything.

In the Centre of City”
This location has the touch of old traditional building. I managed to stay at the top floor. It has eerie feeling. No aircon, but fans are sufficient. Reasonable facilities with the cheaper price. Lovely.

Very basic but worth it for the price”
Very basic hotel and room was well worn. Small ensuite shower. However it was clean, staff friendly and helpful, for the price and location I can't complain. One thing was you could hear loud music coming from the square outside until the early hours (it was the weekend though).
