If you’re interested in history, this is a great choice. We didn’t try the spa and it doesn’t have a pool, but that had nothing to do with our trip. We wanted to experience downtown from a walkable location in a building that saw the French colonial through independence Periods of Vietnam. The building is beautiful and in great condition. The restaurant very good. Location is central to experience old Saigon. Rooms are large and beautiful. I highly recommend this location.

Clean, courteous, character!”
Hotel Continental Saigon (not to be confused with Continental Saigon!) is a cute, very old, hotel with a ton of charm and character. It's not a fancy modern hotel room, but it's clean, well maintained, and the staff have been nothing but donerful to us! We just got off an 8am flight, and they let us check in almost right away when a guest checked out early. We've been nothing but impressed. Great value for a super clean hotel in the middle of the city!

In the heart of Saigon near everything. Wonderful staff. Great rooms fully remodeled about a year ago. First hotel built in Saigon in 1880. A great free breakfast included, served until 9:30 am. Jacuzzi, sauna, steam until 10:00pm every night included with room. Massage available, 30, 60, 90 minutes. Not expensive. The formal dining room is "Old World" elegant. Front sidewalk dining with live music. Full business office available ajacent to lobby. Wi-Fi, Internet free. Free local calling. Large screen TV and cable in room. Over night laundry service very inexpensive. Free fresh fruit and water in room. Free coffee and tea in room. The list goes on... Across street from Opera House. The place is fabulous!!. Go on line to see pictures of everything. Tell them Henry Woodward told you. Rm. 101 is palatial for $150.00US per night. Elegance!!

Historical hotel in HCMC center”
The hotel once was the first hotel in Vietnam. It locates at city center on the luxury street Dong Khoi with only 2 minutes walk to the post office and cathedral and many luxury brand shops nearby. The room's big enough for a couple and facing the opera. Many choices for breakfest and the omelet booth staff she always greets guest with sweetie smile and can really feel the hospitality of vietnamese people from it. The last time I stayed here was back to 2013, this time I come, happy to see it remains the historical atmosphere combining modern utilities. It was surprising that we all got the lucky money from the hotel GM on Tet Holiday Eve, hope that will bring me good luck for the whole year. The hotel would still be my first choice in HCMC.

One of the 2 oldest hotels in Saigon. ”
I always wanted to stay at this hotel. I am glad I checked on Agoda, for prices. The rooms are big (45 m2). The hotel is very well run. The staff is friendly. The buffet breakfast is great. The bathrooms and the windows however could be modernized. Overall, I am happy with my stay.

Beautiful old hotel, great location”
This hotel was the first hotel in Saigon. Lucky for us it has been well maintained and continues to remain a great choice in Saigon, The location is perfect, right next to the Opera House and a short walk in one direction to a high end mall and the other direction takes you to the large local market. The staff in this hotel are helpful and kind and breakfast offers many choices and is delicious. There is a happy hour every day where you can enjoy sitting outside and people watching while enjoying drinks and half price. The restaurant is elegant and food very good.

Staff were very helpful, friendly and obliging. Location-wise, it’s great: so near to Vincom mall where there’s lots of food options, and walking distance to a lot of district 1 attractions. Hotel has a nostalgic feel and despite its age and dated style, it’s very well maintained.

For the price at this premium location, I would rank it 8.5-9. However, carpet floor in public area should be updated to reflect 4 stars hotel. Wood floor in all rooms are cleaned . We stayed here twice but would stay here again. More led lighting in bedroom is recommended.

A French colonial masterpiece alongside the stunning Opera House. This place "breathes" history. The rooms are spacious and clean as is the bathroom. Breakfasts are plentiful if a little unimaginative ie the same as four star hotels everywhere.
