Excellent hotel with great service”

We had a lovely stay at the hotel du vin. Our room (grand room) was very large which made everything so easy travelling with a four month old baby. The lady in charge of the bistro was also so helpful and made our 3 night stay very enjoyable.

Sumptuous decor and luxurious room. Delicious breakfast ! ”

Very beautiful room - ideal for a romantic break . Staff couldn't do enough to help - took time to recommend and book a restaurant for us for evening meal - listening to us carefully to choose somewhere suitable. It's the most beautiful hotel in a lovely area of Glasgow. The breakfast was really nice too !

Elegant and Refined”

This is a gorgeous property that is beautifully appointed. The room was extremely spacious with lovely furnishings. The huge bathroom contained a soaking tub and rain shower. The staff was extremely helpful and attentive. The breakfast in the dining room was sumptuous and the bar was cozy and intimate. When I return to Glasgow I would find it difficult to stay anywhere else. Truly memorable!

Excellent with minor exceptions”

The hotel is stunning. The staff are professional. The food is exquisite. Overall, we had a wonderful stay. Only minor issues, one being the overhead lighting. There didn't seem to be any way to turn the lights on. Since our room was wallpapered in black, we had a difficult time seeing. We were to have someone sent to deal with it, but that didn't happen. Also, the amenities in the room, which are numerous and welcome, were limited by the lack of outlets. The outlets are poorly placed, which meant I had to move the tea kettle across the room to use it, and I had to dry my hair by the window with no mirror around. The hotel is a series of older row homes, which makes for lovely, charming rooms. However, the older outlets are still in the room...right where one needs a modern one.

Exceptional”

We were able to take advantage of a promotion, and got what I think was a very good deal on a very nice, grand old hotel. Downsides - the facility is not air-conditioned, and it can get a little warm in the summer. But, the windows opened, the setting was incredible, and we enjoyed our stay. The staff couldn't have been more helpful, courteous, and friendly.

Magic”

Pure delight upon entry. The room was stunningly beautiful. Rich textures and style. Excellent staff. Lovely bath. Gracious hosts.

We were treated to an upgrade to one of their 'townhouse' rooms and we're very delighted to find the the large room was esquisit in both style and comfort. The staff were friendly and helpful, answering questions and giving directions without hesitation. The food was wonderful and the dinning room was quiet and lovely. We really enjoyed our all too brief stay and would highly recommend this hotel to our friends who enjoy travel as much as we do.

Best Hotel I Have Ever Been In!”

Fantastic place! Beautiful decadent hotel with beautiful rooms, really friendly staff, lovely intimate bar and i'm vegan and gluten free and had no problem getting food in the restaurant, cats and dogs allowed in the rooms, beautifully leafy location not far from shops etc if you wish. But the rooms are just so luxurious...you don't want to leave! :)

Old Fashioned Comfort”

This hotel is in a series of converted townhouses. The room was elegant and comfortable as are the public spaces. Breakfast was OK but nothing spectacular. One small piece of kipper cooked to a rubbery nothingness. If you arrive by car, ask for directions since the street in front of the hotel is pretty much inaccessible from the main road.

Luxurious boutique hotel in elegant townhouses ”

Beautiful hotel with elegant interiors - each suite is different with a combination of antiques and contemporary furnishings. Service is excellent. Variety of comfortable public areas for guests' use. Good restaurant (though pricey). Only downside is location is a little remote from stores and restaurants, as well as subway - walkable, but a bit of a hike. No elevators but staff can help with bags.

Contemporary Scottish ”

interesting Scottish Art Nouveau terraced town houses

I enjoyed my stay there was a good sized room and bathroom, even with a room overlooking the main road the traffic was not too noisy at night or in the early morning. As the houses are Grade II listed it is unfortunate that there is no lift and the bedrooms, on the first and second floors can seem a weary climb to the foot sore tourist. The houses are interconnected so it may seem a bit of a maze to get to the breakfast room in the end house. The food is good so it is worth the challenge. I did complain about the weak lights and the fact that internet did not happen in my room, but only at the end. I think the staff would like to help so any complaints should be made earlier in your stay and they will do their best to help.

large room, breakfast, welcoming concierge

Large comfortable room which was well heated to the side of being too warm. However as it was at the entrance to the hotel it was very noisy. This was compounded by the noise of staff talking and laughing throughout the night as the main door to reception seemed to be kept open. when I reported this in the morning the staff seemed indifferent to my concerns. Upon checkout I received a total amount for my bill rather than it being itemized. when I asked to see the breakdown 14 GBP gratuity had been added. I had asked to book a table for dinner and was told only 2 slots were available at 6pm and 9pm. As this booking was for our honeymoon night the overall experience was disappointing
