This hotel is actually *3 (according to Google Maps), and despite it being a *3 hotel (I don't expect much), it's actually pretty good! Helpful staff that you can contact anytime via WhatsApp in case you need help from your room, nice room service (though, if you're someone who needs a cup of tea or coffee in the morning, you might want to order Family Room, unless if you want to go outside and look it for yourself (but don't worry! Around 300m from the place, there's a local coffee and noodle corner.))... The place itself is quite strategical, since it's close to Malioboro and one of the town squares. If I'm looking for a cheap hotel but need *a bit* of luxury stuff, this would be my go-to hotel in my next trip to Jogja. 9/10!

lovely hotel and service with a smile”
It was a very pleasant stay in Mawar Asri although the room was abit old and dusty. The hotel situated just 15minutes walk to Jalan Malioboro and very conevenient to access to tourist spots such as Taman Sari and Kraton. Besides, the offer tour packages with driver with an affordable price too so it was very convenient.

Comfortable Stay”
We arrived at the hotel at 00.00 local time but the receptionist is very helpful and proceed our check in very fast. Our room is settled and they provide every thing we need. Everything's good in this hotel except the breakfast. The breakfast is very classic but still can be a light breakfast for travellers. I can still accept this considering this is not a 4 or 5 star hotel with its extraordinary buffet breakfast. Overall, i would like to recommend you this hotel for the comforts you get in this room but the lamps are not light enough inside the room.

i was there for 1 day in superior room.. it was so nice if you compare the price with all they give. positive: - cheap - clean hotel (all area was clean from lobby, stairs, restaurant, etc) - staff very helpful and kindly - they have parking area in front of the hotel (across the road) - near to Kraton and central souvenir gift (bakpia pathok) minus: - no lift (its only matter for ceckout if you bring luggage)

This was a really nice hotel. The room was lovely and cozy. Great nights sleep and the food was really nice and was very reasonably priced too. They also did my laundry of some of my clothing and it was cleaned and ironed very neatly

Decent Hotel”
Hotel is located along a side street which is still quite noisy, especially when the generator is turned on. However inside the hotel it is actually quite decent. Not sure if the hotel staff was lying to us, but we booked a family room and they put us in a twin room at first. When we asked why the airconditioning and lights were not working they said that it's a nation-wide rule that electricity is cut from 12-2pm. However when we managed to get the room change the airconditioning and lights were working in the other room. Go figure. Other than that, the hotel was clean, airconditioning is not very efficient and staff comes knocking at your door loudly at 7am to wake you up for breakfast.

Nice, clean and homey hotel in great location”
this is the best budget hotel in jogjakarta so far. i got nice and homey room, with free room amenities. the bathroom-which is the most important part for me in choosing a hotel-is very clean with nice shower and a unique marble sink. another plus is the friendly staff who always smile and greet us. this hotel is close to the main attractions in jogjakarta. only a couple of minutes to the palace, taman sari, malioboro, tugu rail station, benteng vredeburg and bering harjo market. yet it is in quiet location compare to malioboro so you can have relax and quiet night to rest.

The room was dirty & smelly. U can see lots of stain @ bed linen.. hairs, dirt.. yuckss. I think they didnt change the bed linen. Maybe to cut cost 😂. When u enter the hotel, the view was nice, smells nice..but once u reach the room, theres unpleasant smell. Bau mcm xde pengudaraan @ lembap2 mcmtu lah.. Hairs on the floor, behind the bed..on the bed 🤦🏻♀️ then nampak something sticky dekat lantai, which the staff x mop lah lantai tu 😂 since ada pasir² pun melekat around. Paling tragis, doormat dekat bathroom penuh dgn pasir. When u left the bathroom ofcourse kaki basah right, then bila pijak mat tu habis bpasir & kotor balik. Nak solat pun rasa xselesa.. tuala pun was² nak pakai sebab berbau. End up, guna tuala tu as a mat dkt bathroom (luckily i bring my owm towel). Overall..the staff was friendly & nice. Thanks & sorry Mawar Asri..i not enjoy with my stay 😢

Our stay was pleasant.”
The only downside about this hotel was the breakfast but you could order from the menu. The food was pretty good and at a reasonable price. Service was fast when we had complains. The little treats which they provided daily very a sweet gesture. Bedsheets were changed daily which was great. They even helped us get a cab when we were stranded some place. I just had to call the hotel and tell them our location and they got a cab to take us back to the hotel. Overall we are very pleased with this hotel.

Nice location, clean and friendly”
we stayed for 3 nights, the price is quite reasonable, staff are friendly and helped us to track the best bakpia producer in town. the hotel is 5 minutes walk from the trans jogya station, convenient if you want to got to malioboro or even to catch a local bus to get to borobudor or prambanan. we really enjoyed the breakfast, simple but really filling. will stay there again.
