"Top location, located in the centre of historic Melaka, surrounded by historical sites over 5 centuries old (like the famous Stadhuys built by the Dutch during their occupation of Melaka). This is a very new hotel (2019), interior and all amenities are tip top. Air-conditioner is new with accurate temperature control, There's a shower with rainforest shower-head, with heated water. This is a luxury rarely found in budget hotels. The hotel is very safe, with smart card entry through hotel entrance, lift and rooms. Front counter is staffed 24 hours. There's a lounge and dining area on the ground floor; with free hot and cold water, biscuits and snacks, coffee and tea, self service, all free, I say it again. There's a 24H opened 7-11 store next door, if you need anything, anytime. The staff are friendly and helpful. Only drawback, there's no private parking if you are driving, and the wifi signal is not strong because my room was located far from the wifi router. But in Melaka, you should not be in your room, but outdoors! Overall, this hotel is a GEM, a rare find for all the reasons given above. Final tip: If you park your car at the hilltop parking next to the Stadhuys, bring your parking ticket to be stamped by the hotel for a flat RM5 parking fee."

"We booked the Baba House because the more expensive Puri, was not available. Best decision we could have made ! The Baba House is practically next door to the Puri on the same street. The Hotel is in the old part of Melaka, 250 metres from the antiques shops, restaurants and Jonker Street. It is worth every cent. The rooms are basic, breakfast basic, everything basic ! But if you want to experience Melaka the way it should be experienced this place is for you. Rooms are comfy, but have no windows. Shower is very big and the TV is crap ! The decor in the Hotel, is wonderful and the location is absolutely perfec as you dont get all the noise of Jonker Street, but you are only a 5 minute walk from all the action. Loved the place and will stay there every time we visit this charming city."
