Find hotels in Sawan Sumran

This is a brilliant hotel on banks of the mighty Meekong river. All rooms have a view of the river, friendshop bridge, and Savanakhet with lights at night. We had a deluxe room for under 3,000 baht that included a very nice breakfast. The breakfast depends in how many people are staying at the hotel. The first night was pretty full so they had a buffet that was excellent. The second day as there weren't many people they had made to order breakfasts that was satisfactory. Both breakfasts came with unlimited fruit, juices, cereals, coffee and tea. I did a visa run with my wife and they actually took us in a luxury van into Laos to drop our luggage at the hotel then to the Thai embassy then back to our hotel. Although it was expensive (5,500) baht it was a breeze! The busses over the bridge are run by the mafia and are jammed packed---people struggling to get on as only one bus runs an hour. Absolutely miserable! If you had a few people its well worth it to split the costs.

This was a grand place to stay sometime in the past but now it's in desperate need of an update. The rooms are clean but very dated with much evidence of running repairs. The bathrooms could best be described as acceptable. The beds were ok but are still that hard Thai style although nowhere near as bad as some. The breakfasts were disappointing to any westerner looking for a traditional bacon and eggs type brekky. Annoyingly the room wifi was very patchy. Simply moving a devise from the table to the bed would cause it to drop out. This may all sound negative, yet we enjoyed our stay and would go back. The staff were friendly and as efficient as their rather rundown facilities would allow. The Hotel has great location and has much potential especially the revolving restaurant on the top level which we went to. The beer was cold and excellent and the meal good as well.

On arriving at the Riverside hotel rear car park, we were met immediately by one of the staff who unloaded our luggage for us, and guided through the rear entrance of the hotel to reception, where we were welcomed with great smiles by all the staff, they quickly signed us in and copied our passports and then escorted us to the lift and up to our rooms, our travelling companions had room 506 and we had 507, both rooms were very spacious, were very very clean, and although our rooms were positiond at either side of the hotel, each had a great view of the river and/or town and hills/temple and hills, the balcony was small but adequate. The restaurant was a very nice surprise, it is situated on the sixth floor and at the front of the hotel, giving great views wherever you sit, and you can go onto it's front balcony where you can sit and have coffee/tea, or just sit and enjoy the view. The front entrance of the hotel also gives you a good view over the river, it's most relaxing to sit and have a drink and chill out. All in all this hotel is a most well presented and staffed accommodation. It get's a 5 star from my wife and I and our companions.

Clean rooms and best bed I slept on. Very clean cheap hotel if I have a stop of anywhere else and theirs a hop inn I'll stop there no problem.

We enjoyed our trip ...good for kids has big park for them to run around...free coffee...breakfast’s ok. It’s a little far but we had our own car so no problem about that it small town we can travel to everything.. We enjoyed the river views and quite..hotel no room service but u can order foods (provided by hotel staff ) very cheap and we ordered pizza..we would stay again 👍

Room was very tidy and good enough to fit 2 persons. Breakfast served both local and intercontinental style. This is a four-story building without elevators...

I finally spent 12 nights at the hotel. The price is rediculously low for a *** hotel (see agoda.com). Ideal for someone who has his own means of transportation and likes peace and quiet. It is a no brainer. The rooms are more than double the 16 square meters advertised on Agoda. May I add that there is a new air conditioned gym in town, the "Bloc of Fitness 888". Also soft ice cream at the Dairy Queen in the Robinson Mall. Could not have had a better stay at the Muk.

This hotel offers much for a few money. The rooms are big and it is very clean. The bathroom is clean and practical. The staff is very helpful and friendly. We will go back to this hotel when we're going to Mukdahan.

Cheap and next to bus station, easy for Mukdahan to Savannakhet bus. Old and mattress/pillows not brilliant. Front desk staff helpful. Double booked by my mistake and let me cancel.

Very comfortable stay.... i speak Thai, so easier for me, as Mukdahan's English language is in general very poor... but the staff can speak ok English if you are a bit patient....there is not much around the hotel, but if you walk to the intersection and turn right there are some great restaurants, though not catering to foreigners particularly.....I wanted to go on the international bus to Laos from the bus station (Bor Kor Sor is its name) and I was able to turn left out of the hotel and walk about 250m to get there..... tuk tuks are around to get you into town, note that this hotel is quite far out.......ONE PROBLEM is that their public computer needs to be fixed as it has a memory issue and the net keeps crashing!! room was lovely though and the staff are very welcoming.

Hotel reviews are very subjective and difficult because everybody sees things differently. This hotel suits me because of the price, and I can overlook the dirty bathroom and light not working and the thin towels.Staff were responsive after overcoming the language barrier. The true test is- "would I stay there again?" The answer is yes Next time I am in Mukdahan,Iwould stay at this hotel. The only thing missing was a refrigerator which was provided after I asked.

This hotel was nicer than i expected. I was worried because the room was so cheap, but the hotel wasnt that bad. The bed was relatively soft, a lot softer than the bed at the other hotel we stayed at in mukdahan. The hotel is not new, but it is in pretty decent shape. My room had a nice view of the river. Not a four star by any means but would stay here again when i come back. I am pretty picky about hotels but i cant really think of anything to complain about. However, this hotel seems like it caters to large tour groups, you know the really annoying ones with those ridiculous big busses.
