"I stayed in a Standard fabric room which is basically a big tent. As I had checked there homepage too, I knew that this type of room has only a matress on the floor and no fan (the room info about this category on agoda is wrong). I arrived and was greeted by the owner who explained me everything. There is a shared open air shower and they just added a pool table to the restaurant - the place is brand new and it looked as if they where optimizing things each day. The location is great if you are looking for some robinson cruso kind of beach. The hotel is sourronded by posh 5 stars resorts where I went for coffee & to use the wifi. At their own restaurant they have super music and the food is just delicious (had breakfast, lunch & 2x dinner as it was sooo good!) I stayed for 2 nights before travelling further north and I think the Standard fabric room is good for 1 or to nights before or after travelling (it is close to phuket airport). Still be aware that you sleep on the floor and the matress could be a bit thicker :) But if you wish a real bed on the beach, just go for a Superior room (they looked really nice) ;) To sum up: I love this place abd I might be back before flying out of Thailand!"

"Our vacation was a two part-the first was our initial stay where my wife arrived by herself with our two children via rental car from Andamann Car Rentals. My wife paid ~$119 USD for garden room and got a complimentary upgrade on top of that. Children loved the rooms and complimentary breakfast which they stated was good enough. Plenty of selection for the discerning eater and plenty of activities at the kids center for 3 and 6 yrs old kids. We have stayed numerous times mostly in the vacation club side. This was our first time on JW side of hotel. We couldn't complain as the quality of the JW is matchless. The second half of trip we stayed 2 weeks on the Marriott Phuket Beach club side (rm 3343) of Marriott at Mai Khao beach. Its the standard two bedroom villa which holds 6 adults. We love the old thai style architecture compared to the Marriott Mai Khao beach side which is more modern. Hotel is starting to show its age but nevertheless it was another stay for the record books. We used the kids center a lot this time as we had two kids 3 and 6 with us. Lots of different activities for them to do. In addition, ate a number of times at Turtle village (Swensen ice cream, Thai Express and Coffee club). JW/Phuket beach club have a shuttle that goes between turtle and resort every 15 minutes. There was a bunch of street vendors outside of turtle to buy food like deep fried bananas, coffee, etc. As far as service at the Marriott it was excellent. We had an issue when a vendor for our boat trip tried to deliver our trip video to the wrong room. The Marriott sent a representative to our room to help retrieve our video from the other room which was a nice gesture. We used the concierge to book a trip to James Bond island, etc and it was wonderful. I can't say enough about the JW here as the management and experience was memorable. "

"Renaissance Phuket was the highlight of our trip to Phuket. The hotel staff is friendly and they go out of their way to comfort their guests. After the quick check-in we were transported to our room on a cute golf cart which was available throughout our stay for moving about within the property. The hotel lets the guests borrow bicycles to move around the area outside and we biked to the Turtle Village which was about 2 kms away. There are tuk-tuks available at no charge to travel around the area. One of the best things about Renaissance was the sumptious breakfast spread and the dining options they had on offer. The pool over-looked the sea and there was a jacuzzi in it. We had a really early morning flight out of Phuket and as a very thoughtful gesture, the staff handed us breakfast boxes at the check-out. If we ever go back to Phuket, we are definitely staying at the Renaissance!"

"Our first time here and were impressed by the generous room size. Be mindful that the bath, shower and toilet are all outdoor! If you like a natural setting then you will love it. They do spray for pesticides — lots of them. We were in the pool one afternoon and the pesticide spray showered upon us so that was not enjoyable..... apart from that, plunge pool was nice and private. Staff was courteous and helpful but due to the timing of our stay (long weekend), they were extremely busy and overlooked service when we checked out. We asked for help to carry luggages to the car and no one responded to the request. SALA is located in Mai Khao so it is quite far from Phuket downtown. Definitely a nice, quiet place for relaxing but not much to do or eat around this area. Turtle Village shopping plaza nearby was not as advertised, very little shops and pricey. "

"I can't say enough good things about my stay at the Phuket Campground. The host/owners were incredibly friendly, and helpful. They obviously love showing off the food, and the beauty of Phuket. From the moment they greeted us at the airport until we left seven days later we were treated like family. They found us a great rental car for several days and actually saw that we were not charged for the day we didn't drive because went on a boat tour of Phi-Phi island. The cottages were designed and built by the host are modern, comfortable and have all the ameneties of a first rate hotel. Free wifi,AC,satellite TV. Short drive to Sirikit NAtional Park and a beautiful beach. The host gave us a personalized tour of Phuket Town on our first day, which included a visit to a century old noodle shop for lunch. It was terribly hard to leave, but we did so knowing we'd made some new life long friends of host. They say on thier web page that they treat guest like family and they mean it. My partner and I are scheming to visit again next year. Six American girls who had been to Thailand before, regreted they could only stay one night on route to Bangkok, because the food was so good. This was a first time to Thailand and the highlights were our visit to Chiang Mai and our stay at Phuket Campground. Can't say enough about the place. "

"Phuket Mai Khao is best place for relaxing and family entertainment. Marriott Mai Khao is your destination, it is family friendly and even for younger kids. If you decide to stay at hotel you will not be bored. It has lots of facilities for kids. We tried dining in and it was good. Also round the corner (5 minutes walk), there is Turtle Village which contains some good restaurants including The Coffee Club coffee shop. If you would like to go for Excursions (I.e. James Bond island) I recommend a travel shop in turtle Village which is better priced than booking in the hotel. Booking through the hotel is more expensive even taxi from and to Airport. The travel shop is in the second floor. "

"Service was immaculate. Wide choices at breakfast buffet. Quiet location with clean beach (beach is 15 minutes walk or 5 minutes buggy ride as its located on the other anantara villa, their sister hotel). Spa is also located at the other anantara. Great facilities for kids (kids club, playground, sand pit, shaded baby pool, baby cot, baby chair, baby bath tub). Turtle village is just opposite the hotel (there are restaurants, 7-11, a small supermarket & some retail shops). "

"As soon as we arrived we were made to feel special with a drink and a cold scented soothing flannel whilst we checked in. The resort was beautiful and relaxing. Our personal pool was just right. Our pool area had a couple of loungers and umbrella with an additional gazebo area with a large cushioned lounging area and a fridge full of bar drink and snacks etc. the beach restaurant 'Sea. Fire. Salt' served delicious meals and again we were treated like valued guests. The resort pool and beach area was very well designed and again the staff saw to it that we had complementary water fruit and cold flannels next to our very comfortable poolside loungers. Our rooms were serviced twice a day to an exacting standard. On the whole it was an amazing experience. Booking excursions/ taxis etc from the hotel was very easy. It's about a 30 minute taxi ride into the centre of Phuket which wasn't a problem for us as we wanted to be away from the hussle and bussle... The 'Central' shopping centre had a great choice of different shops and was about 40 minutes away. Turtle Village shops were a couple of minutes walk away and has a few nice shops and lower priced eateries to choose from including an Irish style pub, a coffee shop and an ice cream parlour, which made a change. The Taxi from the airport, going through the Anantara airport desk to the resort was very expensive tho... We paid 3 times more than we should have on the way to the hotel, compared with making a booking with a taxi driver directly on the way back. Apart from that one thing the overall experience was brilliant. "

"The receptionist graciously apologized for a miscommunication over the airport pick-up which did not manifest, and gave us a free upgrade. Housekeeping service was prompt and clean throughout the stay. The kitchen is well-equipped, so we enjoyed cooking or eating bought food from outside. The Crust restaurant which served wood oven-baked pizzas was very good, so we had pizzas everyday. That leads me to say that I rarely think that Thai food could be bad, but the standard of the Chaam restaurant could definitely be raised. After our first meal there, we needed to venture out or I felt that we were doing ourselves an injustice. We only had breakfast there (inclusive of our package) when we were pressed for time, as the atmosphere (I guess based on the sheer number of guests who need to be served) during this peak holiday season replicated that of a train station, and the food quality as well. So the various restaurants and cafes at Turtle Village came to the rescue, and so did our visits to Turtle Mart the mini super-market. But all in all, we were met with gracious hospitality throughout our stay. The serene grounds, the pleasant surprise of access to a private pool, and our hope for a low-key, restful holiday was fully met. The pool-side movie viewing was a highlight for the kids. Last but not least, the pillows are well appointed and I wish I could purchase them! "
