Friendly, basic, clean”
Our stay at I-Talay worked out ok. We booked last minute on a Thai holiday weekend so took what was available. It was our first visit to Koh Samet so we didn't know the island layout. Next time we will book ahead of time and stay on one of the other beaches away from the crowds. Liked the hotel staff a lot! Thanks I-Talay for making our stay comfortable.

Nice hotel with a friendly guy at the reception”
Reception guy is very friendly and always ready to share his smile with everybody around =) Rooms are quite spartan but air conditioning works good and price and location can beat anything =) Good choice if you don't want to pay one to several hundred bucks per night in the hotel on a fancy beach.

Easy and Pleasant”
My chosen room was not available on arrival, as nearly all agoda bookings with anything less than a large chain hotel and I was upgraded no fuss for my whole stay, staff were lovely and happy to help or chat.

Good location”
The View Talay is located less than 50 metres from the pier so it is very easy to access. The staff have a reasonable understanding of English and are polite and helpful. The room we stayed in was on the second floor at the end with a great ocean view. It was the only room with a view and was clean and comfotable. The room was not seviced but the staff were happy to change towels when requested.

Sweet staff, clean room, value for money”
We had a great time there. Even though we didn't spend that much time in the room but every day after we enjoyed the beach, which is about 10 mins walk from the hotel, we always looked forward to go back to the clean room to wash ourselves. The staff were nice and helpful. If you're looking for a good place with small budget this would do for you.

Very simple but nice, friendly staff. ”
We stayed there for one week. It was a little bit hot in the room so we were happy to have the ac. Hotel beach is a non swimming area cuz it's right on the pier. But still we had a sea view. Going to the beach takes 10 mn. Hopefully you cross the shopping area to be there. Generally it's a nice and simple place to stay. The staff was helpfully and answered positively to all our requests.

Heavily over price for what you get”
Not good, the staff are very unfriendly, and the place doesn't look like the pictures on agoda. It's close to the pier and 7 Eleven but about 10-12 minutes from the beach and the nice restaurants.I love Koh Samet, but I will never stay at I-Talay Zone Sea Hotel again. It is very expensive for what you get.

Good location”
7 minutes walk to Had Sai Kaew beach, and just two minutes from main pier, hotel deserves good review. Bbq facilities are near reception. Rooms (at least A7) are clean and have enough illumination.

1 minute walk to 7-11 and main port”
the location is the key we chose to stay here. i was surprised 'cause it takes only 1 minute walk from the main port. and there are two 7-11 and several bike retal shops next to it. close to everything. but for the price this cheap, you will find what you pay for regarding of the room quality. everything is very simple, not dirty, but very simple. the only complain is that window can't open, it's fixed to the wall, and it makes the air in the room didn't circulate at all. staff can speak good english and very helpful to tell us where to go, eat, and have fun. overall, i like it, but maybe next time i will stay in better room.

My favourite hostel in Bkk”
This hostel has got everything, all the facilities, cleanness, privacy in the dorm, great location at the Riverside, nearby the river ferry pier, train station and subways. The staff is lovely and helpfull. They also offer a reach breakfast included in the price. There are no cons.

too bugdety”
just ok. located right in the center of town, which is a rather messy center, with absurdly unfinished roads that create important traffic complications in a very tiny island. we got the best room, the only one with a great ocean view. the room is ok, but the bathroom is dirty and badly kept; it should be urgently fixed and redone. with a better bathroom i would give our room a nice 7 (considering it is a guest house not a hotel). the "hotel" doesn't have any food facilities (no prob as walking distance there are plenty), nor any other that could remind you to a hotel. it is a basic guest house, but at 1500 baht, i think it is too expensive (samed is expensive overall). the staff are very nice and helpful.

convenient location, right near pier”
room was ok, nothing special and nothing bad to report. staff were friendly and helpful, but on further inspection of the island there were definitley better bargains to be had. room was a little overpriced i thought, but i havent really stayed on many islands so maybe this is normal. like i said though, did find some other rooms around which were in beautiful locations and much cheaper.

nearest with cruise, clean&cheaper but 2 far beach”
it was nearest located at cruise terminal, might take 2min by walk. felt good with deep sleep with clean room even cheaper cost but too far from beach. next time i will stay to seafront guesthouse for enjoy and rest if i visit again. all crew was kindly but not good english :)

Standard Hotel, Friendly staff”
This was a very simple hotel room. the first room we were in had a leaky aircon unit and the sink leaked whenever you turned on the tap. due to this it was always smelling really damp. The staff were incredibly helpful when told about this, letting us change room straight away. The air con and the sink in this room didn't leak, but the bathroom still consistently smelled damp, which you could smell as soon as the door opened. Room didn't get cleaned once, and we had to buy our own toilet paper. about a 10 minute walk from the good beaches and restaurants. picnic location was also full of rubbish. In the long run, this hotel was not worth the money we paid for it. the only upside was the incredibly helpful staff.

Location right by the pier”
If you are looking for somewhere not on the beach, right by the pier with 7-11's and travel agencies near by, this is a good hotel for you. The rooms were colorful, but questionably clean (sheets?). We got off the ferry and walked about 3 minutes, so it is right next to the pier, with no beach to use. There is no restaurant, but some tables outside for sitting. Good option if you are on a limited budget and don't plan to spend lots of time in the room. Air con and internet worked very well.

Rather dumpy hotel with kind and helpful staff”
This hotel is located right by the pier and an easy 10-minute walk to the main beach. The room is small and unattractive but clean and serviceable. There are lots of guesthouses on the road between the pier and the beach, many of which seemed, from the outside at least, to be nicer places. Barbados Terrace and Chili's, in particular, seemed better.

the boss is very friendly”
we sleep for 3 nights, the place is very convient, and the boss is very friendly, lead us to the house when we can't find it, but I don't know why my motobike is broken in the nght, and the boss said he doesn't have any responsibility.I'm unhappy about this. Other things are all very good!
