Hotel is truly 5 star and exceeded our expectations. The service from the staff is outstanding and extremely organised. The hotel grounds are spread out and it definitely is a resort setting and not just a hotel. The pools, the restaurants and bars were amazing and there were so many to choose from. Right on our doorstep directly in front of the hotel was kata noi beach. At first we thought it was private for the hotel guests but in fact its a public beach. It was everything we hoped a beach in thailand would be. Extremely private, soft sand and clear blue waters. Kata beach is a couple of minutes away by car, however found this beach to be extremely crowded with tourists and deck chairs. Kata noi beach is definitely more exclusive and the water much clearer than kata beach. Had planned on staying at another hotel for another 4 days but we changed our mind and booked our entire stay at this resort. We can't wait to return to thailand and will definitely be staying at this hotel again without a doubt. Staying at this hotel absolutely made my holiday in thailand!!!

I can't say enough great things about The Shore at Katathani. It's on the Southern end of Kata Noi and is the top-end of the Katathani Resort. Phuket/Patong is 20 minutes North in a cab. When we arrived, we were taken to the room in a buggy/golf cart which are at your beckoned call whenever you want it. The villa itself was BREATHTAKING. Like literally. When we opened the door and caught sight of the view, it took our breath away. It faced out over all of Kata Noi beach and the giant waves were just rolling in. With one sweep, the entire wall of windows can be retracted and you can just dip your feet into your own personal infinity pool. Perfect! One of the best parts of the resort was its food and beverage prices. They were reasonable especially which was a warm welcome. We stayed at Ritz Carlton in Phulay Bay and felt taken advantage of. We actually spent more at The Shore at Katathani because the prices were good and the food and drinks were great. Every night, the resort gave us a special treat... like a swan towel art. New fresh flowers. Tasty chocolates. One night, they put a special duvet cover on our bed that said Happy Honeymoon. (It was). The pool is one of the highlights. It's this awesomely shaped infiniti pool. Just gorgeous. Great brunch/breakfast in the mornings. There's nothing more you could want... Stay here. You will not be disappointed. It was the best hotel we stayed at in Thailand, beating out Phulay Bay Ritz Carlton and Sofitel in Bangkok. If management is reading this review: The only suggestion I have is for you to talk to your bar/pool waitstaff to be more attentive. They did not ever come around to ask if we'd like more drinks. We always had to come to the bar to ask for another round or flag our hands around to catch their eye. And also, there were times when we saw used/empty glasses just sitting on the tables for an hour or two. Just a small change and you are at perfection!!

We stayed at Kata Beach Resort for 3 nights after spending 4 nights at Metadee Resort. We loved Metadee Beach Resort for it's winding pool and rooms but there's no denying Kata Beach Resort. It's location is second to none in one of the best spots on Kata Beach. The rooms are getting a bit outdated but there's still beautiful and have new tvs. The pool area and view of the beach is great. The only problem is, as many other people have noted, that too many guests try to reserve deck chairs in the morning leaving none for other guests. We didn't found this a bit of a problem but were always able to find two chairs together - maybe this is because we were there in offpeak season. We didn't pay for the breakfast and preferred to get breakfast at the end of the beach instead at one of the restaurants next to Ska Bar. You could get breakfast for two for around 300 baht which was so cheap. And it was great too! The only other issue was paying 150 baht for one hours internet. My partner works in IT and had to log in regularly for work so this was very costly when other resorts provide internet for free. Apart from that, I would still stay at Kata Beach Resort again and would recommend it to others.

I have stayed in Katathani before (5 star resort) and of course I would not expect similar service for a 4 star hotel. I was wrong. Chanalai Flora delivered beyond my expectations. The staffs here are friendly. Special shoutout to Abdullah, Chef Ball and Ms Dui. I really like that they make an effort to check on us (welfare) and have small conversations with us almost on a daily basis. They also chat with other guests too and I think that's great. It sure make us feel so welcome here at Chanalai. We received a complimentary slice of cake too before our last day. Ain't that sweet! Anyway here's why you should choose Chanalai Flora: 1. Variety of breakfast selection (changes everyday and have halal menu too) 2. Free room upgrade (I always dont expect for upgrade as I love to be surprised) 3. Five mins walk to Kata Beach (Get a taxi to go Nai Han Beach instead. Its cleaner and less tourist or book an island hopping adventure for more remote beaches) 4. Kids Club- the kids love it!

We stay in this hotel 2 times, second time we've return renouncing at our paid room in other hotel and other town (Bang Tao), as our heart stay with Channalai Garden Resort. The spacious and clean rooms with astonishment sea view 2407 room and 6409 room. All the Staff members are deserving a medal. They are all working hard and they are available to satisfy all your needs with a smile on their face. Location is perfect, beach is very close and lovely (the only one beach where you can swim during mussons/wet season, as well as bars, restaurants and local people life. Also some snorkeling. Fantastic! Kata is an exotic town and beach, we enjoyed at maximum. Breakfast and staff was brilliant, with a live cooking station, a varienty of local season fruits fresh and dryed, thay food options and other choices. Special Thanks to ADO! My husband and I have a wonderful stay at Nook Dee. We love this resort so much and honestly don't want to come back home. This place is much more beautiful than what I expected when I first see the picture. The actual view from lobby, room balcony, swimming pool, and rooftop is much more beautiful than any pictures I see in any website. No question that this resort have the best view of any place not only in Kata But also in Phuket. The architecture design of resort is look modern from outside but the interior has full touch of Thai and has many details that anyone who have an art background will love it. All of the staffs are the most friendliest hotel staff I ever met probably because they try to make me feel of Thai hospitality with a lot of smiles, laughs, polite. Food is wonderful comparing to small boutique hotel anywhere their breakfast is second to none. Coffee is great. We end up stay up late coz drinking to much coffee in the morning. Latte, Cappucino, Americano, or any kind of hot coffee are all free not just black coffee like the other hotel Dinner at lawn next to swiming pool with beautiful lighting or resteraunt balcony with seaview is very romantic. Food price is reasonable cheaper than many 4-5 star hotel in Phuket. Thai food has original taste not foreigner taste. Someone might said that the location is a bit up hill. Give me a break, this is what everyone in the world pay for isn't it? In order to get the best seaview, you have to go up not down. They have free beach shuttle bus service for free 4 times daily which I think is pretty good. Many people like us will love to spend most of the time in this paradise, relax and enjoy.

This really is an excellent resort hotel in Kata Bay, Thailand. Although not positioned directly on the sea, it is only a short walk to the beautiful Kata beach. The hotel general layout, rooms and facilities are tastefully arranged in local Thai style with many interesting features. Swimming pools are available everywhere, with access directly from rooms in some locations. Staff are especially helpful and efficient. Breakfast provided a good range of options in an uncrowded restaurant room. Wi-Fi is fast and reliable. In summary, a great choice if you are visiting Phuket. As for Kata Bay itself, like other nearby resorts it is geared towards mass international tourism (during our visit the vast majority were Russians and Chinese tourists). Beach shops, massage parlours, restaurants, bars proliferate. Activities are fairly low key at night, more suited to couples and those with children. The beach itself is clean and free of litter, with clear and unpolluted sea water.

This is the best hotel we have ever stayed! Top facilities,very clean and spacious room with a lot of amenities such as branded beach towels and bag,slipers for beach,umbrelas,safety box,coffie and tea,free bottles of water every day,new towels every day ect... Very good breakfast,with omlette,fried egg,pancakes,french toast and vafels fresh made by the chefs on the place on your request! Amazing view with endless pool! Staff is very polite and very kind! In one word EXCELLENT! Highly reccomend for everyone! Thanks SIS KATA once again!

This is one of the best and value for money hotel in Kata. Hotel staff is friendly, room is comfy (pool access), near to seven eleven and restaurants. Go to Kata Karon Food Fair which is few minutes walk on the left once you step out from hotel. This food court serve tasty and cheap seafood. The only downside is u have to take about 15 to 20 minutes walk to beach (go through the shortcut opposite seven eleven) and keep the glass door close in the room to avoid mosquitoes especially in late evening.

New hotel in Kata. Not traditional design but good, clean and modern rooms, Nice gym and a little quieter area a few hundred M from the beach......Would stay here again for sure should we come back to Kata. Housekeeping need to tidy rooms a little better when making up the room but on check in the rooms are very clean and well looked after. Fast internet.....

Our stay at Impiana was a dream. We stayed for 4 nights at one of the suites with a breathtaking infinity pool. The rooms are very large, you wake up to the sun rising, overlooking the beach. It is absolutely beautiful. The rooms are VERY well kept, clean and modern. I'm very particular about bathrooms and this one was perfect. Large soak tub and rain shower. We had a butler that would take care of us 24/7. It is very easy to access Kata Noi beach. Mom Tri hotel has very good food but sort of pricey. You need to wake up in time for breakfast. If it's included in your hotel package, everything on the menu is made to order and delicious! Probably the best breakfast buffet I've seen in Thailand. We ate a place near the Kata called Kata BBQ or BBQ Kata right by the beach, it was so delicious. The only place we went back twice. Overall it was a very nice place, worth every penny spent. I hear there are newer built places, but I really enjoyed our stay here. I highly recommend it for honeymooners.

Kata lucky was our 2nd hotel after staying at kata beach resort. We loved our stay and ended up back there after a couple of nights away. If you are looking for accommodation that isnt resort on the beach with nothing but tanning on beach beds then kata lucky is perfect! We only stayed in a pool access room so can only vouch for that. The rooms were simple and modern with plenty of space and a great selection of tv channels. Breakfast is on the basic side, but does cover most bases and is good enough for the price when inlcuded with your room. Its a short walk to the main st in kata with a 7/11 close by and a few little restaurants etc across the rd. Internet is easily accesible, a little on the slow side but that is not unusual in phuket. There was nothing that we didnt like about kata lucky for the price we paid and would love to go back! But you do need to be ok with not expecting a fully locked and loaded, waited on every moment of your stay resort style holiday. Kata lucky is for the more independent traveler who wants affordable comfort and style with realistic expectations.

The has to be one of the best hotels I have stayed in, upon arrival we received a free upgrade to a pool access room which was amazing! Hotel staff were helpful, attentive and will help you any way possible, breakfast buffet had everything you wanted including an egg station. Hotel had a free shuttle service to the beach (Karon, Kata or Kata Noi) which was really good even though Kata beach is a short walk away. Near by restaurants were very good including the Red Duck across the road which had great Thai food. Would definitely recommend this hotel and to be book a pool access room.

The minute we arrived at the entrance of Mom Tri’s in our airport transfer we could hardly contain our excitement! This place is a tropical jewel set a little ways up the hill on a point with views of Kata Noi bay and the open ocean. Check in was seamless and the staff were laid back and very hospitable. After check in we were lead down the stone steps closer to the sound of the crashing waves and across to our Beach Wing Suite. The room was humungous! It had a King Size bed, gorgeous pebble-tiled bathroom with a big tub and separate shower. The room faced the ocean and was designed with full glass frontage so you could enjoy the view from bed or anywhere else in the suite. There was a daybed on our terrace and an outdoor bath/rain shower for rinsing off after spending time at the beach which was 2 mins walk along the stone steps leading further down to the water. We stayed at Mom Tri’s for a week in the wet season so the Kata Noi beach was too rough for swimming, it’s more of a surf beach. Kata Town is only a 5-10 minute walk back down the road and there Kata Beach is a flat and popular safe swimming spot. This was our first time in Thailand so we had no idea where the best places to go were – all our friends told us Patong is the place to head but we found Kata had everything we could want. There weren’t any cheesy shows or bars but you definitely have your shopping, drinking, eating and scuba needs sorted in Kata. The restaurant in the resort is fine dining – prawns the size of crayfish! But the prices are a little too expensive to be eating there everyday. You can even order room service from the restaurant for no additional charge and it will be delivered and setup in your room exactly as though you were sitting at a table in the restaurant. Breakfast buffet was great each morning. The staff would squeeze you fresh fruit juice of your choice and cook your eggs anyway you liked on the spot. There is a day spa in the resort too which offers traditional Thai

1) Location: It is about 45 minutes journey from Phuket Airport. Avista is located on the hillside of Kata, with plenty of restaurants, minimarket and shops nearby the hotel - about 5-10 minutes walk. Walking path is by the main road and it is safe and secure. Yes, there is a steep hill to climb up to but the steep hill is only about 100 metres distance, which is still managable in my opinion. Kata Beach is about 10 minutes walk from the hotel. Overall, i think the hotel location is ok although it is located on a small hill. 2) Grand Deluxe Room: We were given room 332 and 324 which has restricted balcony view. As we were staying for a night, the view from our room doesn't really matter. IIt has one king size bed and one queen side bed. I love the blue lighting used in the room. It does look very luxury and classy. Mattress and pillows provided are of very good quality and very comfortable. The bathroom is also very spacious and modern. The shampoo and shower gel provided is of very good quality and it is very aromatic. Two thumbs up. 4) Buffet Breakfast: Most of the food items are delicious. It is not a wide spread but the spread was quite good. I also love the fact that the hotel provides free coffee in various types (mocha, latte, cappuccino etc) and the coffee is very good. However, in my opinion, since this hotel is a 5 star hotel, they can improve on the selection of fresh fruit juices. At the moment, the juices available are bottled or chilled juices which is not impressive for a 5 star hotel. Overall, i think this hotel is probably one of the best hotel in Kata.

Our family of six persons stayed at the Kata Seaview Villas for 11 days in February/March 2014, and were very pleased with our stay. If a luxury and spacious villa is what you are looking for, Kata Seaview Villas is an excellent choice. We arrived a few hours before check-in time, and the staff did not hesitate to let us wait inside one of the villas which was undergoing some minor maintanence as the guests in our villa had not checked out yet. We were immediately impressed with the elegant and modern design of the villas as we entered the mainfloor via the carport, and were happy to find an enormous master bedroom with ensuite bathroom at the same level. Downstairs are two more bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms, and upstairs is a spacious open plan livingroom/kitchen, with a balcony and an infinity pool, perfect for an afternoon bath after arriving from the beach or the hustle and bustle of Phuket's many attractions. On this floor there is also an additional smaller bedroom, and a bathroom conveniently located by the staircase. However we did not use this bedroom during our stay. Furthermore, there is a rooftop terrace with a large sofa and a great view over Kata and the sea. It is perfect for catching some tan, or enjoying a meal/drink with a stunning view. Also, all the bedrooms has flat screen TV's, in addition to the TV in the livingroom. Wi-fi is also available throughout the building. The owner Mr. George and his staff are very helpful, and will assist you with any questions or requests you have. We were also lucky to have a kind and helpful maid who in addition to provide the cleaning, would prepare our breakfast to our preferred time and style. It's almost as if you don't want to leave the villa, but when you do, the staff will arrange a tuk-tuk or taxi to pick you up at the doorstep. All in all a great stay at Kata Seaview Villas, and I would definately recommend it is this kind of accomodation is what you are looking for.

From when we arrived to check out, the customer service was excellent! Pim at tour services was really helpful in helping us book tickets to the Simon cabaret show. The massages offered poolside were the same costs as on Kata strip - so it's a great benefit to be able to bill the massages to be charged to the room and enjoy the hotel surroundings instead and the ladies were excellent at giving massages! Pool was not crowded and offered a wonderful view. Bedroom is spacious and clean. Really enjoyed the mix of Eastern and Western buffet breakfast every morning with fresh juices and fruits. If the hotel can increase the amount of shuttles to and from Kata beach, that would make this hotel the must-stay place! Quiet and away from the tourist scene, yet close enough still to the beaches.

we stayed in kata because we needed a place to stay as a stopover to ko phi phi. we only stayed for two nights and we chose a hotel that was affordable, yet clean. kata hi-view satisfied our requirements and was surprisingly clean and nice. it was actually one of the cleanest and nicest rooms we stayed in (aside from lebua in bangkok). i personally did not like kata because it was too busy, overpriced, and overcrowded with european tourists. i would certainly not recommend this area, although i am sure it is nicer than patong or karon. i found ko phi phi to be much more enjoyable. the only downside to this hotel is that there a lot of stairs. unfortunately, we had the highest bungalow. it had great views, but we had to climb 174 stairs to get to our room (the hotel staff carried our luggage though). i would not recommend this hotel for long-stay guests, handicapped or elderly people. it was a difficult hike. for two nights, we could take the hike up, but i think it would have been tiresome for a longer trip and not worth the hassle. if you are concerned with the stairs, i would recommend booking directly with the hotel and asking for a lower level, which they do have. overall, i think it is a nice hotel and good for short term stays.

The hotel and resort was ideal for what we needed the location was set back from the main street but a 10 minute walk from Kata beach, on the main street there are shops selling all sorts and restaurants to many to mention, most of which seem to shut about 11 o clock, however if you fancy a late drink then there are some bars that open late. If you want to sunbathe eat and shop then this hotel is for you there's not a great deal much more going on however a taxi ride into Phuket (30-40 mins)to watch the boxing or go to the open market was great but am glad we picked Kata, also there are plenty of trips to go on, we booked an afternoon sight seeing which was well worth the money (approx.£20 each)and got driven around the island in a taxi all afternoon looking at some beautiful sights no rush no hassel and an English speaking guide who told you a lot of information on what you were seeing. On the whole we had a good 10 days relaxing after visiting other parts of Thailand there are things in Kata if you want them but if you want a nice beach good food and an excellent hotel book Kata Poolside Resort.

We have stayed at other hotels in Kata, and at first was a little disapointed by the location because there was no view of the beach. That quickly changed when we saw the hotel and our villa. It turned out our stay gave us the best of everything, a very romantic private room, yet close enough to enjoy some wonderful restaurants in town and a close walk to the beach. We forgot all about wanting a view of the beach. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfast was delicious.We can't wait to return! We wouldn't stay anywhere else.

Good location in Kata, with easy walk to restaurants and shops. Originally booked 3 nights and ended up staying 6 due to fantastic internet rate thru Agoda. Four star hotel amenities, very clean and well maintained hotel. Staff are very friendly and most speak english well and seem to enjoy chatting with guests. Internet rates seem high at first but if you buy a 24 hr plan it is valid for 2 weeks so it is really reasonable over the time period. Hotel offers more TV channels than other hotels. Spa is fantastic and compared to other hotel spas in Kata, Cenvaree prices are less expensive and you are assured of a certified therapist in a very clean environment. Daily breakfast offers a great variety of items including made to order eggs/omelets. Centara Kata has three pools, one which is ideal for kids. If you want less noise, choose the pool near the spa and enjoy spa music and tranquil water fountains while you are swimming and suntanning. This is a very popular resort for families and european tour groups and I can imagine it is very busy during high season. A note to parents. If bringing a stroller, be advised there are no lifts on the property so you should book a ground floor room otherwise you will be carrying the stroller up/down stairs.

Very nice and beautiful hotel, convenient location, very clean. We had a very big balcony with a pool view, clean towels and bed sheet , room service was very nice. Also they give beach towels at the reception. The swimming pool is also nice, there is a restaurant and bar with live music downstairs. The location is good, there are many shops, restaurant, massage places, little market nearby. What I didn't like much is that hotel is full of Russian package tourists, sometimes it was noisy late at night (though it was Old New year), the rest of the time was OK. Around 10min walk to the beach, but this narrow path is along the canalisation "river" with a disgusting smell, so the walk is hard to call pleasant one) Anyway, regardless of the place you stay to rent a bike or a car in Phuket is necessary, so the second day we did it and traveled to different beaches, because personally I didn't like much Kata beach that was the nearest one. Anyway I saw some open cars from the hotel, so I think hotel also provide service to send to the beach, though we didn't use it. Anyway the stay was very pleasant and relaxing! Thanks for the great service and attitude to the stuff!

Amazing view, extremely clean, really lovely pool and the bathroom facilities were especially excellent. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The long distance from the beach is balanced by having a free shuttle service. At reception there is a relaxing bar and pool with sensational view over Kata Beach. The only minus was that the hill up to the hotel is so steep that any tour we booked would ask us to wait on the street at the bottom rather than collect us from the reception area (not nice at 7am waiting on a narrow sidewalk by a busy road with kids). And tuktuks can’t get up there!!

I arrived at the Kata Garden Resort towards the end of the high season. Here's the scoop: do NOT choose this hotel. Here's the details. Cons: 1. No safety deposit box in the room. 2. A flimsy door to the room that anyone with just a little effort could open even if it was locked. 3. Very old, shabby rooms up a very steep hill on the side of a mountain. 4. Really noisy until late at night due to live music pounding out from the restaurant. 5. Staff with limited language ability except for Thais. 6. Small pool. 7. Laughably small and horrible breakfast. 8. Crowded with Russians and Chinese who are almost as noisy as the all night band! The Russians in particular show no compunction in leaving a towel or something out on a chair/lounger around the pool to mark their spot even if they leave said spot for hours on end. 9. Way over priced in the high season. It should be at least be 50% cheaper than the near 90 USD I paid per night. 10. They allow a scuba diving business to train people in the pool, which is small enough as it is without having to avoid humans trying to learn how to become scuba-diving large fish. After that lot, you may be wondering if there are any pros. Well, there are. Here they are: 1. Great location. 5 minutes walk to the edge of Karon beach, which is the bit of the beach I like the most, but there's been a clamp down on providing large umbrellas on the beach. About 14 minutes walk to Kata beach, which again lacks parasols. 2. The pool is small, but quite nice. Impossible to get a space there because of the competing Russians and Chinese, and then you have to swim in and out of people studying scuba diving. 3. Very close to more restaurants than you can shake a stick at. 4. The room is large, with a small balcony. 5. Vast and comfortable bed. In conclusion - DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL! The Blue Pearl Kata Hotel is affordable and has a nice place. It is peaceful there and it is near to lots of restaurants and convenience store. 3 minutes walk from the hotel to Kata beach which is so convenient especially when my brother and I surfed in Kata beach. The hotel is located in Kata beach, about 40 minutes from Phuket Airport, 650BHT for a taxi ride. I got a great deal through the Agoda website 40%off . Just go across to the Internet cafe and make your reservation there. The walk to the beach is about 10min, you have a choice of 2 beaches , one to the left and one to the right. The Spa is a rip off even with the 40% discount they offer. Clean place, excellent value for the money, nice pool and fitness room. Across the street there is a great little Italian restaurant Sorrento, with excellent prices fresh Thai and Italian food, cold beer, Italian Wines and an enormous menu. The owners Fabio and Gerrado are there every night, tell them that Mario from Hawaii recommended the place and they will take care of you. They have the best of both worlds a Thai chef that worked in Italy for 4 years. I highly recommend the place, I ate there every day and everything was fabulous. The hotel is quiet, great for families or solo travelers. If you wanna party catch a Tuk Tuk to Patong beach and you are in sin city in 10 minutes, about 400BHT one way. They where renovating the rooms in September 08.

If you want a beautiful boutique hotel in Kata Beach then this is it! The setting is lovely & the view amazing, unfortunately it rained while we were there so we never got to enjoy a few sundowners. A funny story, my wife & I went for a reasonably priced massage at the hotel. It all started as normal but about 15 mins into the massage my wife coughed a few times as she had been battling with flu & the massage had loosened her chest. Both face down on the massage beds when the one masseuses asked me where are you from? I replied proudly from South Africa. The massage carried on & 20 mins later we turned over to see both masseuses with face masks on...very funny Dinner at the restaurant was great, probably the best we had in our 2 week trip to Thailand. The breakfast was just as good. The staff are very friendly and professional and only to willing to help. The only negative for me was I don't like soft beds, it was just to soft for me. Very comfortable for my wife though!

The service and set up is amazing, as are the views both from the villas and the main pool and lounge area. This is the 3rd time we have stayed and we will be back. Its not cheap but very much worth the money for the luxury and rockstar experience :-)

Villas at Kata Beach not at crowded Patong Beach.The setting is perfect - right on the beach next door to Scah Beach Bar and restaurant on the rocks.The front ocean view rooms looked straight onto the ocean beach with only a few steps down to the actual surf beach. The breakfast is silver service a la carte and the restaurant is a bit expensive but highly reputed with superb food as you look over the beach and ocean.Adjacent Scah restaurant is cheap but excellent food as you beat the waves to the entrance. The Scah Bar is a hole in the rocks and takes you back to American beach movies.This place is unbelievable with cheapest rooms the best view. Other villas are top class and beautifully styled for more cash.The hostess is a colourful "Emelda Marcos " character who links up with a Swiss guy as builders and owners.The staf are friendly and pleasant and one is made feel like a guest in a very large villa.We extended our stray from 4 to 9 nights.
