Very Accommodating Staff, Lovely Place”
My friend and I stayed here for a night in Glasgow. It was a very nice room with great facilities. We woke up late and missed breakfast, but the staff brought us out warm hot chocolate & coffee, yogurt, milk with cereal, and orange juice. Great experience, would stay again.

Lovely, traditional building”
We stayed for a city break from rural Oban and we found the staff incredibly helpful and friendly. We stayed in both nights for dinner and they were happy to assist when receiving takeaways. Everything was very comfortable and, although the bathroom was supposed to be shared, we had sole use of one because of the positioning of the rooms. Just a tiny little improvement and that would be to clean the dust which had gathered on the extractor fan in the shower room next to the dining room. Also, the parking can work out quite expensive as it works on the meter system from 8am to 10pm everyday. It would not deter me from staying there again. Thank you for a fantastic stay!

Excellent”
The hotel is near University of Glasgow and is convenient for commuting to city centre. The room is clean and nice. The toilet and shower room is fine even though it may be quite narrow but it is ok for me. The wi-fi signal is very good.

Great location and I got a Good deal. Room was nice and clean. No en-suite but I knew that and it was reflected in the price. Breakfast was lovely and the staff were welcoming and chilled

Walking distance to town ”
Had a lovely breakfast , lots of shops opposite. The garden is few steps away and few landmarks close to the hotel. I had a leak in the roof got transferred straightaway to another room till it was fixed There are few occupants we smoked close to the entrance door,

Very good”
Pros - location, price, security to access your room. Cons - not a con per se but perhaps when you look to book it could be clearer that you go elsewhere in Buckingham Terrace to check in and also for breakfast?

Cheap option near the University and Botanic Gardens.”
The location is great for University or Botanic Garden access. Parking is convenient if one of the two or three spaces are available outside but otherwise it is a fair walk to a public car park. The rooms are dated but clean. Breakfast was served in the small dining room which is not ideal under the current corona virus conditions and does not allow for social distancing or suitable hygiene.

Very Dissatisfied ”
Room had no toilet or shower which wasn't stated at time of booking. Breakfast was not good and took forever and had stuff missing. Overall just a very disappointing stay.

Night away ”
Didn’t realise on booking that there was no bathroom in the room. Meant to be s double and the bed was a small double, which didn’t seem big enough for both of us. Only £46 for the night so can’t grumble Too much, but the bathroom situation was offputting

Ok”
The room was small, with basic amenities. The staff have no understanding of customs service. OK if you are here for one night, or a few hours. Personal I wouldn't stay here again.

Acceptable”
Room was dirty with no lock on the back of the door and the bathroom was a shared one for all guests on that floor... The staff did move us to a new room, but only after we kept complaining

Dirty and unsafe ”
On arrival we got to our room and the smell as the door opened was sickening. The last guests had left uneaten take out which had clearly been there for days. The second room we were given had thick layers of dust everywhere, the kettle smelled like burning plastic and onbinspection

Really good vale, good location”
We only had a 2-night stay, so a budget hotel was what we wanted. We chose a basic double room, shared bathroom, and it was fine for us. The double bed (Room 4) was on the small side, so if you're very tall I would check before booking. The Kelvin is virtually next to the Botanic Gardens, with frequent bus services to the City Centre and a short walk away from Kelvinbridge tube station. We were surprised to find, though, that a bus ticket to the Centre costs £2.30 and the tube a flat rate of only £1.70. There is an assortment of eateries & shops in the neighbourhood. Our room, although below street level, was very quiet. The breakfasts are very good value, with cereals, fruit, yoghurts, bread/toast/croissants buffet and also a cooked meal to order if you want. Billy was a marvellous host, very courteous and professional. If you want a basic place to sleep for a short break. I recommend this hotel.

Very good stay”
We had a double ensuite room at the top floor, which was very nice and totally quite. The heating was a bit hard to handle (either too warm or too cold) but beside that we really liked it. There was a good (full english) breakfast included which was promptly served. As the price of the room was rather cheap for Glasgow we have been very positively surprised about the amount of service and comfort we got for it. The area is not super central, but nevertheless offers a lot of sights that are in walking distance. There are also some really nice options for eating and drinking closeby. Overall we can highly recommend staying here.
