Stayed here for 4 nights in the single room on 13-17 April 2019. Was greeted warmly upon arrival, check in was smooth sailing & was pleasantly shown to my room within 20 minutes upon arrival (very much appreciated after 20 hours of travel from Malaysia). Everywhere you look is a feast to the eyes, the decor was beautifully done, comfy rooms, great breakfast selection and service is absolutely top notch. Rooms amenities were fantastic - ground coffee and fresh milk available daily in the comfort of your room. Location is very good, Princess St Gardens is under 5 minutes walk, and in close proximity of shopping areas in Edinburgh. There is Tesco Express & Boots nearby - so you get your basic items easily should you need to. I had meetings and conference in EICC, and it’s only 12 minutes walk from the hotel. Thank you for making me feel at home while being on a business trip thousands of miles away. Hoping to return to this lovely hotel with my husband for our anniversary trip someday.

Excellent Stay Marred By Noisy Room”
All absolutely brilliant but sadly spoiled by a loud and deep humming from some system (air con?). We turned off our air con system but there was a deep rumble that lasted the whole (sleepless) night. Burying head into the pillows simply amplified the sound. (Room 313).

Such an excellent hotel that oozes boutique luxury. Recently refurbished, so everything is clean, new and lovely. Style is a mix of Scottish, luxury and South East Asia (think Penang) decor, but everything works really well and is to a very high standard. Very comfortable and cosy rooms and excellent facilities. Didn't get a chance to use the pool and gym unfortunately. Breakfast is served in a very spacious and brightly-lit dining room - a pure delight to relax and have a few drinks in the evening as well. Staff was brilliant and very friendly - we had to leave bags behind the check-in desk for a few days and everything was well looked after and safe. Definitely my go-to place to stay in Edinburgh!

Overall, the hotel was lovely, the staff accommodating and the food and drink excellent. We have 2 points on which to provide feedback. On our first morning, we waited 50 minutes for our cooked breakfasts. The kitchen was busy, but I suspect our order was accidentally given to another table. This was compounded by the fact that there are a great deal of very lovely waiting staff who are very attentive, but don't seem to be looking after specific tables. The second point was the lack of sleep on our final night. It was the first cold day since some refurbishment had been done, and the heating system kicked in at about 3.30am. This resulted in some loud, repetitive banging from the pipes which continued until daylight and prevented us from sleeping. We mentioned it to reception when we checked out who reported similar feedback from other guests. Thank you

The room I booked online was not the same for its square meter and it was not looking to a day light. In the picture I had from Agoda, There was a nice window and sofa Room service takes 30 - 45 minutes for a wine and never the orders came in rightly. First night dinner at the restaurant I asked first 250 ml red wine and then a glass came in and I thought it was the half but then I re-ordered this time 250 and it came with caraf but they charged me for both 250 ml in total 500 ml. I tried to explain them and their explanation was they poured the 250ml caraf into one wine glass. 250 ml caraf wine probably will not fit into a glass. I did not make it a real problem and left.Then I had order an other one to my room next day, 250ml, came as a bottle. But the last is the best, they have charged me that bottle twice to my receipt, and although had breakfast for one, charged 2 people because I am in twin room. If I had not checked, it would go to my credit card and I got no apologies...

Great breakfast and the restaurant is surprisingly famous around here. Sometimes we have to queue to get a table for breakfast. Many guests from outside the hotel are eating in the restaurant.
