Nice traditional ryokan! ”

Very near to Kami-Koen cable car station. The host is a nice lady that accommodated what we needed, in simple english is good enough. Nice onsen, nice room, feel very homey and quiet. If you go to find the ryokan perhaps its abit hard due to steep road uphill, but other than that all good. We really like it here and we will be back again :)

Excellent, with caveats”

Spacious private room in a cozy little house with a wonderful hot spring bath at a hard to beat price point. Quite excellent! However, do be aware of a few caveats that may be dealbreakers for some people. Probably the biggest possible issue is the heater, which requires occasional ventilation and which turns itself off every few hours. May render the room a little on the cold side especially in winter - but that's where the unlimited use hot spring bath comes in handy! Next, it gets very quiet in the neighborhood come nightfall. Most businesses will be closed, but there is a convenience store you can get to a short walk away that sells food boxes that they can warm up for you. I actually really enjoyed the ones I bought - just make sure you get yours before 7pm.
