Our journey on Koh Mak started when we were picked up by Buri Hut, I send them a text before arrival. The bungalows are spacious with a great view, wonderfull pool and if you feel like playing chess, you can. But the experience was complete by the friendliness off the staff especially the owner Bo. Renting a motorbike (250B per day), arranging a trip to Koh Kradat (the deer island) and booking our boattrip to Koh Kood. She came to check on us everyday, since I hurt my foot upon arrival 🙈 Couldn’t wish for anything more!! Ants are also frequent visitors since you are surrounded by trees. But nothing a good bug spray cant fix. Enjoy this great place!

Tranquil location and great service”
We really loved our stay here and extended it to stay longer. The huts are great, spacious, clean and with a great view over the water. We also liked the small beaches in front of the property and loved the swimming pool area. We walked to various places for sunset drinks and to eat and the roads are empty and we also ate at the restaurant on site which served excellent food. The property is really well maintained and all of the staff were really friendly, especially Pu who helped us with everything we needed. We would love to come here again.

Perfect ”
The most peaceful place ever. Beautiful sunrise and sunset. You can only ear the nature. The bungalows are simple but with everything you need. The pool has that funny look but it's one of the best pools I've been to -super clean with a great view. The front desk lady is nice, kind and helpful. The resort is 5 min away motorbike from the restaurants. You can rent the motorbike at the reception + buy boat tickets to other islands if you want. If you come here, call them to advise the time you arrive at the pier, they will pick you up for free. I highly recommend staying here if you come to Koh mak :)

Amazing stay”
The manager of the place was extremely helpful and sweet. The resort was right by the beach, although the beach isn't the nicest on the island. They have hammocks, a swing and great seating areas for you to lay on. The beds were SUPER comfy and came with a side pollow (something I hardly see at resorts) :). Motorbike was 250 baht a day, and without it you can't really exit the resort since the entrance is about 3-4 kilometers long. The power went out at least once a day, but didn't take more than 30 minutes to come back on. Overall great stay and would definitely love to visit again!

We had a good time here. Good location, food is delicious and staffs are helpful and friendly especially in the restaurant. Only one area to improve was we did not get the room that we wanted to stay since we already confirm with them via phone call, no explanation or apologize from the staffs and they tried to change the subject when we asked a few times.

Friendly and helpful”
A big thank you to the staff at Koh Mak Buri hut. They were extremely helpful and friendly. They were always available with suggestions and recommendations. The grounds were well kept and they have a 3 tiered pool area that was well kept with towels laid out for guests in advance like you would find at fancier resorts. Our visit was in low season so the restaurants and bar were closed. The rooms were clean and well kept. The TVs are very old and with 6 or 7 channels, but we weren't there to watch TV. They have a nice walkway at the front of the resort from the beach to a long pier. We were caught in a traffic jam on our way from Bangkok ( extra 2.5 hours) as well as about 20 other guests so the staff arranged for a speedboat to wait for all of us otherwise we would have all missed the last boat to the island. From the moment we arrived, they helped with dinner reservations, motorcycle rental, and free shuttles to the restaurants nearby. You will be well taken care of.

Clean place and nice infinity pool. Beach not for need. Take a scooter for easy going to other places on Koh Mak. The food in the restaurant is also good. Playground for children is there. We will come back...

Clean and nice, but no nice beach”
Very nice personal and the cottages were absolutely nice and very clean. The restaurant was ok, the breakfast was not that good-too much touristic. The pool was also good and clean. Big negativ thing is the beach. You couldn't go swimming there, the see is very dirty. But with a motorbike you can get easily to a nice beacht at the other side of the island. For use buri hut was too much a touristic resort. Big plus was the stuff that was very friendly - our motorbike had a broken wheal, it was an accident and usually our fault- but buri hut payed the half price and that was very nice and fair of them. And last but not least I had a really perfect barbeque at the beach on my birthday.. so thanks again for that!!

Our stay at Buri Hut was excellent, nice place even if the beach is very tiny. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The rooms were clean. The kiosque near by the swimming is managed by a russian lady who is doing the best cake ever!!! The only thing to improve is the breakfast...Overall our stay was very nice.

was not the right resort for me”
+ nice staff + clean + a lot of plants, some birds and butterflies - no hammocks at the pier, as I was looking forward to them - super loud annoying pop music at the pool, if you ask he puts a little down, but still very loud. You also hear it at the hut or at the pier. - what also was a pitty was the restaurant location. A huge hall in red and black, with not very nice mixed plastic-rattan-furniture. A disco ball and lights like in a night club. Not cosy at all. - because they have “natural” in their name I had wrong expectations of a place which is a little more close to nature with focus on environmental-friendlyness, this is not a place like this All in all it’s a nice place, but it has more a “real” resort than a beach hut feeling, which means it suits better for a little conservative people than hippies

Unclean sea and small beach!”
Beach is small (maksimum few people) and sea is unclean and not for swimming! Bungalows are small and quite dark (small windows). Koh Mak island is famous for pretty beaches but it's not true in Buri Hut Natural Resort.

fantastic!”
The resort and bungalows look much better in real than at pictures! we were positively surprised! very clean and beautiful swimming pool. Very big bathroom in the bungalow. breakfast a la carte but you can ask for more food and coffee, etc. Very relaxing place, a lot of trees, plants, etc. there is a beach during low tide and you can swim, however, the sand is yellow so the water is not blue, you will need a motorbike to visit other blue water beaches Motorbikes are available to rent at a resort. Deliscious home made cakes baked every day! Our kid loved the place! especially the swimming pool and the playground area which you cannot find at other resorts. Highly recommended and hopefuly will be back. the stuff was very nice. I really love the place!!!

Great pool, average rooms and a potentially nice restaurant”
We are a family with 2 children aged 5 s, except they are concrete) are clean and comfortable with good hot showers, good a/c and nice views. Unfortunately the bathrooms can smell quite a lot and we had to move rooms after 1 night. The staff were friendly, especially on front desk and in the restaurant. We had one odd morning at breakfast when the usual lady was replaced by 2 colleagues who didn’t have a clue what they were doing! The dinner cost was reasonable and tasted good. If the hotel decided it was catering to families and quiet couples and therefore decorated their restaurant to feel like a beach side hang out instead of a disco/bar I think more residents would eat in instead of going out. Definitely recommend renting scooters on the island. It’s small and easy to navigate. Koh Mak has lots of sandflies and it’s beaches can be heavily littered.

Pros: the resort had everything you needed. There was no need to leave. Con: Far from the majority of hotels/shops/ restaurants. Renting a motorbike is a bit of a pain but the staff will help.

Nice hut but it smelt like moule inside the room, a deep javel cleaning and open windows wouldn't hurt. Otherwise the view and the tiny beach are amazing

Exceptional”
Really enjoyed this place, lovely pool and breakfast. Staff were very helpful and made everything easy for us, we rented a scooter from them for 250 bht per day and they they organized our boat tickets for the next island. The only thing that spoiled it was the restaurant. We decided to have lunch there on our first day as we were starving and didn't want to go far. Food was very expensive for what you receive, portions were tiny and quality was not very good. We ended up spending almost 600Bh for a plate of fruit, a tiny sandwich and a beer but overall I would definitely reccomend this place.
