We booked another place in the area but this place is closer to Doi Inthanon. It turned out to be a unique experience. Our room is right above the rice field. It was a unique experience for us! They also served dinner like a traditional Khantoke dinner of the Northern region. Breakfast was included. When Kowit knew we came without lunch, he offered free home-made noodles. He's super friendly and helpful. He also gave us more water for free when we asked to buy. Highly recommended!

Great farmstay on way to Doi Inthanon”
Located in beautiful plane up in a valley. Wonderful view on rice fields. Nice rooms in little huts. Very nice dinner prepared by the owner's mum. Perfect mobile data connectivity. The road to the farm is a bit narrow and curvy, but manageable. The reward for the road trip is the view once the farm has been reached.

Exceptional”
Just visited the Farmstay and the place has great green field scenery, tranquility and starry nights. Owner and his staff are friendly and helpful. It is nice that the price includes not only breakfast and also dinner. I have read previous comments that the place has no hot water for bathing, so it was a pleasant surprise that the owner has recently hot water facilities in the quest houses. My husband and I had a very pleasant stay with wonderful memories. Will go back again in future.

Best Rustic Hidden Bungalow Ever!”
I have been searching for a bungalow like this for 10 years! It is very rustic bamboo construction, very comfortable, in the middle of a farm field, far from civilization....with unrivaled views and an incredible host. If you are used to the Four Seasons, stay far away. But, if like us you are seeking rustic solitude and a true look at rural Thailand, this is your place! We stayed 2 nights and were blown away by the scenery, the hiking, and the kindness of the host (Kowit) and the locals. I don't think we've ever stayed at a more quiet and peaceful place in all of Asia. Kowit and his local family also served us generous helpings of very traditional food, which was unlike anything we've tried in Asia. A few words of warning however. You cannot get here by yourself....the roads are too bad. Kowit will pick you up in Mae Chaem or Chiang Mai and drive you up into the hills in his 4-wheel drive truck. Also stop at the 7-11 in town before heading up if you need snacks, beer, wine, etc. Once you're there, you are there...though Kowit was very gracious about driving us to town for more wine and chocolate!! Also, there is an attached western toilet with shower, but there is no hot water. We would highly recommend Kowit Marchaem Farmstay to anyone looking for a truly out of the way rustic Thai adventure! Kowit is a very nice person and also speaks good English. He plans on adding 2 more bungalows to the current 2 in the near future.

One of the best!”
Kowit farmstay is definitely one of the best we’ve been to, the place is beautiful, peaceful and fresh. The rice fields look amazing and the sunrise and sunset are breathtaking. The creek nearby is just perfect for an afternoon dip. The hut is basic but spotless, everything was clean and neat, we had everything we need during our stay although a hot water system would make it 10/10. It was very chilly when we were there and we thought a warm shower would make it just perfect. Anyhow it was great all around, Kowit and staff were very nice, friendly and helpful. Food was also great. We will definitely recommend the place to out friends and will surely return if we get a chance.

Rice farm Paradise with one small exception”
Our compliments first to Kowit for his wonderful hospitality. It's a very peaceful place and he really goes out of his way to make you feel comfortable. Dinner and breakfast we're very very good and we live in Thailand so we would know 😉 The view as others have said is amazing. Come here for the food and the view. Shower beforehand though if you cannot handle a cold shower. If this place had a water heater it would be 5 stars all around. Kowit, install this and you have a winning place that may be featured on many blogs and sites in the future.

Wonderful stay in the Thai countryside ”
We had a wonderful stay at the farm. We very easily arranged collection from the meeting point, as suggested by Kowit and parked our own vehicle safely overnight. The accommodation is very simple, but totally adequate. The location and views are spectacular, surrounded by working rice terraces. Dinner and breakfast was included in our daily rate - and was delivered to us to enjoy on the verandah overlooking the fields. Absolutely stunning. Be prepared for no hot water, an 'open' house e.g. the walls, floor and roof are not sealed - hence the need for a mozzy net over the bed and chilly mornings! Highly recommended :)))

Genuine Thai Experience”
Kowit is the owner and host, and he is admirably wecoming, an excellent host, and a great cook. The experience is rustic, quiet, serene, beautiful. As such it is not for the faint of heart (for example, he picks you up in a 4 WD truck and takes you the last couple miles over some seriously bad road. But the quiet, the sheer natural beauty, the authenticity is beyond compare. And the dinner he prepared for us was copious, varied, and superbly memorable.

A unique experience”
Kowit Farmhouse is a fantastic experience, several small wooden cabins dotted among the rice, onion and garlic fields in a large valley, with great views at sunrise and sunset. Although the facilities are basic, it's worth the experience. Just bring warm clothes when you're visiting during the cold season, as the cabins are made of bamboo and not insulated, plus it will be too cold to shower at night since the shower only has cold water. We were served fantastic home made meals right on ur porch and enjoyed watching the sun come up over the hills through the gaps in the bamboo walls, it was a very special experience.

In touch with nature”
Great place if you want the be in touch with nature. No air conditioning, no hot water and definitely not a luxury like a hotel. However there is a netting over your mattress, great educational experience on paddy farming, insects and roughing it out in a farm setting. The owner Kowit is friendly and provides transportation from the main road to his farm, dinner and breakfast are provided and a brief tour of his farm if you ask. However paying almost 2k baht per night proves too much.

Wonderful location, unique place as lost in the middle of no where !”
We loved our stay even though we came at the very dry season so all was dry and yellow. Yet, the atmosphere to be lost in the middle of no where with a good bed to sleep in and a rustic but good bathroom is unique. I thought that 2300 baths for a night was a little over priced for the season, so when we arrived we were a little disappointed (you imagine more for the price in terms of comfort but in the end we did not need more). I would recommend that the description should be changed "Designed for both business and leisure travel, no not business, "this 3-star hotel" no this is a farm house, or a hut. 2 advises : 1- put the indications up to show the way, 2- Take the TV away, no need!! The owner or person who took care of us was adorable, we loved our stay, I would love to do it again in wet season. I recommend!

Special experience off the beaten track!”
First of all some advice: read the information about this special place before booking it and you will probably have a fantastic and special experience! It is in a remote location and you will most probably not be able to drive there with your own rental car or average scooter - in winter/dry season you might be lucky, but it is in a valley far out in the countryside. But this actually is this place's biggest asset. Sit in front of your basic yet cozy hut and watch the rice fields and the hills. Take a walk to the little river. Enjoy the home made traditional food brought to your own terrace. Listen to the sound of nature and the village life. The host speaks very good English and picks the guests up with his truck. You can park your car at a safe parking with his family and just take a break from busy towns. Recommended for 1-2 nights in combination with Doi Inthanon national park!

Unique stay”
We stayed for one night and it was a fantastic and unforgettable experience. The acommodation is authentic, therefore simple but spot clean and even with your own bathroom. Upon arrival we were provided with a delicious traditional dinner on the porch with a beautiful view. The place is a 30 minute drive on a dirt road, but we had no Problems with our rental pick-up car. This was our most memorable night during our trip to northern thailand!
